3D 팩토리 시뮬레이션 기술의 특징과 응용 분야에 대한 고찰 (A Survey on Characteristics and Application Domains of 3D Factory Simulation Technology)

  • Purpose Recently, 3D factory simulation technology has emeged as a powerful tool for modeling and analysis of a wide range of production systems, however, it has been not paid much attention in Korea. In this context, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive literature review on discrete event simulation softwares and introduce a promising 3D factory simulation software called FlexSim and its application domains. Design/methodology/approach In order to demonstrate worldwide popularity and technical superiority of FlexSim software, we analyzed the recent list of rankings for commercial discrete simulation softwares released by winter simulation conference and users' opinions collected from business software review site. Moreover, several main application domains are derived from a review of the previous research papers that deal with applications of FlexSim software. Findings FlexSim software recently moved up the list of major commercial simulation softwares, and technical superiorities of the software demonstrate that it is a promising tool for practical 3D factory simulation. Moreover, recent research papers suggest that FlexSim software can be used as a component of smart factory system. In this context, it is expected that FlexSim software becomes more popular in the era of industry 4.0.

차량배기음향신호의 음질분석에 대한 연구 (A Study on Sound Quality Analysis of Exhaust Acoustic Signals of Vehicle)

  • Muffler sound quality of a vehicle has widely been evaluated using commercial softwares. However, the commercial softwares are providing only simple sound quality index. To get better sound quality evaluation method of the muffler, a new approach is suggested based on the subjective sound quality test. The suggested subjective sound quality evaluation method is refined with the fuzzy theory. The developed method is applied for the evaluation of various kinds of vehicle muffler sounds.

  • Because of kinematic complexities, nonlinear behavior, etc, the performance of oleo-pneumatic landing gear is predicted by qualified commercial softwares. While commercial softwares predict more exactly, it takes a long time to construct or modify a model. At initial design stage, design parameters can be determined quickly and exactly enough with simple 2 degree of freedom model of mass, spring and damping. 2 degree of freedom model can be easily applied to optimization and reliability analysis which takes repetitive computation. In this paper, oleo-pneumatic landing gear is modeled as a nonlinear 2 degree of freedom model. The analysis are compared with landing gear drop test. To determine design parameter, optimization problem is solved with genetic algorithm and 2 degree of freedom model.

소규모 건설회사의 공정관리 현황과 대학의 공정관리 교육방안 (Time Management Status of Small Contractors and Suggestions on Education for Time Management in Colleges)

  • 공사관리자는 가용자원을 최대한 합리적으로 사용하고 주어진 공사기간과 예산 범위 내에서 건설 프로젝트를 완료하기 위해 노력하며, 공사기간 내에 프로젝트를 끝내기 위해 바차트나 CPM과 같은 공정표를 활용한다. 제주지역의 소규모 건설회사나 현장에서는 건설공사를 수행하기 위한 도구로 공정관리 전문 소프트웨어보다는 엑셀을 많이 사용하는 것으로 조사되었다. 이는 엑셀이 원가와 연계하여 사용하기 편리하고 공정관리 소프트웨어를 활용할 전문가도 부족하기 때문이다. 대학은 지역의 중소규모 건설회사가 요구하는 공정관리 능력을 가진 인재를 배출하고 있지만 교육의 질적 및 양적 측면에서 다소 부족하다. 지방 국립대 건축공학의 교육과정 조사에 의하면 대부분의 학과는 공정관리과목이나 유사한 과목을 편성하고 있다. 주요 교육내용은 네트웍 공정관리기법에 대한 이해와 공정표 작성으로 이루어져 있다. 공정관리 소프트웨어에 대한 교육과 실습은 일부 대학에서만 이루어지고 있으므로 중소규모 건설현장의 공정관리 전문가를 양성하기 위해서는 바차트 활용과 전문 공정관리 소프트웨어 교육도 필요하다.

사출성형에서 런너 크기의 최적화를 위한 CAE 적용 (An Application of CAE in the Optimization of Runner Size in Injection Molding)

  • The delivery system such as sprue, runner and gate is a waste of resin in injection molding operation. In this study the reduction of runner size has been investigated using injection molding CAE softwares, Moldflow and Moldex3D, and commercial CFD Softwares, Fluent and Polyflow. To verify the computational results experiment was performed. There were three considerations in deciding optimal runner size in this study: minimum pressure at the gate that makes resin fully filled in the cavity, minimum runner size that compensates shrinkage of resin in the cavity, and frozen layer thickness formed in the runner during injection. Through the computer simulations the optimal runner size that satisfies those three considerations has been decided. Although the computational results among the softwares were slightly different, it was enough to predict the optimal runner size. The previous runner diameter was 8 mm and predicted optimal size was 5 mm. This was verified by injection molding experiment. Thus, the way of CAE application in deciding optimal runner size adapted in this study would be appropriated.

상용 S/W를 이용한 소형가스터빈엔진 회전체의 동적 구조해석 및 검증 (Dynamic Analysis of the Small-size Gas Turbine Engine Rotor Using Commercial S/W and its Limitations)

  • The accurate prediction of dynamic characteristics of high speed rotors, such as gas turbines, is important to avoid the possibility of operating the machinery near the critical speeds or unstable speed regions. However, the dynamic analysis methods and softwares for gas turbines have been developed in the process of producing many gas turbines by manufacturers and most of them have seldom been disclosed to the public. Recently, commercial FEM softwares, such as SAMCEF, ANSYS and NASTRAN, started supporting some rotordynamics analysis modules based on 3-D finite elements. In this paper, the dynamic analysis method using commercial S/W, especially ANSYS, is attempted for the small-size gas turbine engine rotor, and the analysis capability and limitations of its rotordyamics module are evaluated for further improvement of the module. As the preliminary procedure, the rotordyamic analysis capability of ANSYS was tested and evaluated with the reference models of the well-known dynamics. The limitations in application of the rotordynamics module were then identified. Under the current capability and limitations of ANSYS, it is shown that Lee diagram, a new frequency-speed diagram enhanced with the concept of $H{\infty}$ in rotating machinery, can be indirectly obtained from FRFs computed from harmonic response analysis of ANSYS. Finally, it is demonstrated based on the modeling and analysis method developed in the process of the S/W verification that the conventional Campbell diagram, Lee diagram, mode shapes and critical speeds of the small-size gas turbine engine rotor can be computed using the ANSYS rotordynamics module.

Numerical Modeling of Floating Electrodes in a Plasma Processing System

  • Fluid model based numerical analysis is done to simulate a plasma processing system with electrodes at floating potential. $V_f$ is a function of electron temperature, electron mass and ion mass. Commercial plasma fluid simulation softwares do not provide options for floating electrode boundary value condition. We developed a user subroutine in CFD-ACE+ and compared four different cases: grounded, dielectric, zero normal electric field and floating electric potential for a 2D-CCP (capacitively coupled plasma) with a ring electrode.
