  • Opening commercial service of KTX at the time of demanding more flexible train set for HONAM line and JEONLA line, it's necessary for the Korean High speed train, performing the stabilization; to modify the design in aspect of passenger and maintenance. In order to ensure the optimized interior design in Korean High speed train, it is necessary to review the major items such as disabled passenger facility, toilet, seat arrangement, compartment partition and door, access door, electrical cabinet, color and paint through the European standard and compare with other high speed train.

  • 고속선에서의 궤도틀림은 차량의 주행 안정성 및 소음, 진동 등에 큰 영향을 끼치는 요소이다. 차량의 흔들림을 억제하고 효율적인 선로의 점검 및 관리를 위해서는 정확하고, 고속의 궤도검측기구가 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 국내 기술로 제작된 한국형고속열차에 고속 궤도검측시스템을 구축하고, 시운전 시험을 통하여 검측된 궤도 검측 결과를 검토하고자 한다.

  • The critical speed above which the vehicle become unstable should be fundamentally verified in the development of new train. In case of high speed tilting train, which require both higher critical speed and higher curving speed, the critical speed should be more carefully treated because the both requirements are conflicting each other in the conventional train design. This research has been performed to estimate the linear and non-linear critical speed of 200km/h Korean Tilting Train which has been developing. The newly developed self-steering mechanism was attached to the tilting train to secure critical speed under the lower yaw stiffness which was inevitable to secure higher curving performance. The simulation to predict critical speed was done by commercial vehicle dynamic S/W. Full scale roller rig test was carried out for the validation of numerical results and effectiveness of self-steering mechanism.

  • A study on Technical Specifications of the current collection system in G7 Korean High Speed Train Project is performed in this paper. First, an appropriate level of contact wire tension for 350km/h commercial operation is proposed based on the foreign high speed train operation experiences and a relevant technical criterion, Second, two optimized design specifications of the pantograph for G7 Korean High Speed Train are proposed based on current collection quality. In order to perform design optimization, a formulation on the follow-up characteristics of a pantograph with 3 levels of masse-spring-damper is derived in this paper. Dynamic design parameters of the pantograph are adjusted to maximize follow-up capability at the dropper and span passing frequencies.

운영 중인 고속열차의 진동저감에 관한 연구 (A study on the Vibration Reduction of the Commercial High-speed Train)

  • 본 연구는 영업운행 중인 고속열차의 진동 문제를 고찰하고, 이를 개선하기 위하여 진행되었다. 먼저 고속열차의 진동 수준을 알기 위하여 차체 진동가속도에 대한 측정이 수행되었다. 측정결과 운전실이 객차보다 진동이 크며, 열차 후미로 갈수록 진동이 더 커졌다. 운전실 및 객차 모두 수직방향 진동이 횡방향 진동에 비해서 크며, 콘크리트 구간에 비해 자갈궤도에서 진동의 최대값이 크다. KTX-산천 진동 경향과 개선점을 도출하기 위하여 동역학 해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과는 시험 결과와 유사하였으며, 객차 양 끝단의 단부객차 상부와 동력차량의 진동을 저감시킬 필요가 있었다. 객차의 진동을 저감하기 위하여 KTX-호남(200호대) 차량은 4가지 개선 설계를 수행하였고, 이 중 KTX-산천에 적용할 수 있는 방법을 해석에 적용하였을 때, 정상구간에서는 2.2%, 분기기구간에서는 11% 정도 진동이 감소할 것으로 예상되었다. 동력차량의 진동 저감을 위해 2차 코일스프링의 강성을 감소시키고, 2차 수직댐퍼의 댐핑계수를 증가시키는 방안을 제안하였다. 현가장치의 불량, 오조립 등 성능저하가 차체 및 대차의 진동을 증가시키는 것을 시운전 결과와 해석결과를 통하여 살펴보았으며, 현가장치 올바른 유지보수가 차량 진동을 저감시킴을 알 수 있었다. 차륜 마모에 대한 적절한 관리는 운행 효율 및 차체 진동저감에 중요한 역할을 하며, 현재 차륜 프로파일을 변경하여 차륜 삭정간의 주행거리를 늘리려는 연구가 진행 중이다.

UIC 513R에 따른 통계적 방법을 이용한 고속철도 차량의 승차감 분석 및 평가 (Analysis and Evaluation of Ride Comfort for High Speed Train using Statistical Method according to UIC 513R)

  • The two projects about the high speed train have been performed in Korea, one project is the commercial run of high speed train(KTX) from Seoul to Busan and the other is the development of original high speed train(HSR 350x). As the successful results, the service run of KTX had been launched on the 1st of April, 2004 and HSR 350x had been fabricated in June, 2002 and has been tested in the Kyoungbu line and Honam line since then. The railway has the track irregularities which cause vibrations, such as rail joints, turnout, level crossing, transition curves and super-elevation ramps, and variations in the track level(z-axis) and the gauge(y-axis). Generally, the ride comfort for railway is evaluated by using the vibrations. In this paper, the ride comfort indices according to mc 513R and ISO 10056 have been reviewed when the high-speed trains are operated on both Kyoungbu line and Honam line. Also, the ride characteristics for KTX and HSR 350x on the high speed line and the conventional line have been analyzed and evaluated. The results show that the high-speed train has no problem from the viewpoint of the comfort ride on the high speed line and the conventional line and the ride index for HSR 350x is same as that for KTX in the high speed(300 km/h).

차세대고속열차 본선 시운전 성능평가 방안에 대한 연구 (A Study on Performance Evaluation Plan of Next-Generation High-Speed Prototype Train during Test Run)

  • Korean Train Express (KTX) has been commercially operating and achieving elevation on transport capacity since 2004. And the first hish-speed prototype test train, HSR-350x, was developed and succeeded in testing of running over 350km/h. Now KTX-II based on HSR-350x was started in service run. The new high-speed train development project, HEMU-400x project, has started since 2007. The protype train is being designed and manufactured. After the train are developed completely, it will run on the commercial line and will be test to verify the estimated performance. The authors devised the performance evaluation method and process of the HEMU-400x prototype system. And we introduce the definite performance test items and the method to vitrificate them in this paper.

  • In order to speed up basic concept is to enhance high speed, curve limit speed, cross limit speed, acceleration/deceleration speed. It is important to optimal interface fundamental technology of vehicle, rail, electrical power, and signal system. Tilting train has advantage minimizing investment cost of infra railway system for increasing train limit speed in curve. the developed tilting train should be operated to commercial service speed 180Km/h of 200Km/h at KNR upgrade railroad. This paper proposed the basic model of system engineering for developing of TTX, tilting EMU (maximum operation speed : 180km/h) with speed-up of conventional railway system.

  • In this paper, sensitivity analysis of the pantograph for the high-speed Train was conducted using finite element analysis method. Dynamic interaction of catenary-pantograph model was simulated by using a commercial finite element analysis software, SAMCEF. Pantograph was assumed to be three degree of freedom mass-spring-damper model and the pre-sag of the contact and messenger wire was implemented due to gravity. The span data of the actual high-speed line and specification of pantograph for high-speed train was applied in the analysis model, respectively. The reliability of the simulation model is verified by comparing the contact force results of simulation and test. Through the simulation, mean contact force and its deviation was evaluated and then sensitivity of the pantograph was analyzed.
