Analysis on the Flora and Vegetation of Geumsan and Gisa Stream Located in Chunchengnam-do (충청남도 금산천과 기사천의 식물상 및 식생분석)

  • This study was carried out to offer the ecological data for restoring and maintaining a local stream by analyzing the vegetation and flora in Geumsan Stream and Gisa Stream, Geumsan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea. As a result of comparison of realities of land use near Geumsan Stream and Gisa Stream, in Geumsan Stream, the ratio of residential areas, commercial and business places, and places of transportation facilities was high. With these types of land use aggregating densely in the center, farmlands were formed on both sides. On the other hand, in Gisa Stream, farmlands were distributed evenly in all sections. As a result of comparison of flora of the two streams, Geumsan Stream had a total of 166 taxons including 53 families, 131 genuses, 139 species, 23 varieties, and 4 forms, and Gisa Stream had a total of 142 taxons including 42 families, 111 genuses, 116 species, 21 varieties, and 5 forms. As a result of calculation of the Naturalization Index and Urbanization Index, the indices were analyzed to be 23.5% and 12.1% in Geumsan Stream and to be 21.8% and 9.7% in Gisa Stream, respectively. Hence, Geumsan Stream showed higher figures in both evaluation indices than those of Gisa Stream. In addition, as a result of calculation of the Actual Urbanization Index, which is the index supplemented by considering the species pool and area, it could be known that Geumsan Stream (0.0285) was urbanized more than Gisa Stream (0.0107) by about 2.7 times. A total of 18 plant communities were classified in Geumsan Stream and Gisa Stream. In Geumsan Stream, 14 vegetation types were identified, and it was analyzed that there are various vegetation types including Phalaris arundinacea community, Zoysia japonica community, Phragmites japonica-Phalaris arundinacea community, etc. evenly distributed. 11 vegetation types were identified in Gisa Stream, and it was examined that Phragmites japonica community is widely distributed in all sections.

  • Recently, various types of wireless access networks, such as WLAN, WiBro and HSDPA, etc, have been successfully deployed by commercial service providers (i.e., KT, KTF). In this situation, there are many efforts to provide high quality of services to guarantee seamless mobility between heterogeneous networks. The IP layer mobility protocols are efficient mechanisms to provide seamless mobility between IP based heterogeneous networks as well as homogeneous networks. However, to apply IP mobility protocols in real heterogeneous networks (i.e., WiBro and HSDPA), we must consider not only the basic features of techniques of wireless access networks (i.e., Data rate, Coverage, Quality of Service) but also the problem of real environment of service provider (i.e., Expanse cost to change the access network). Due to this reason, it is difficult to satisfy required conditions by using only one IP mobility protocol in real heterogeneous networks. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an efficient mobility protocol to solve the complex problems that are occurred in real heterogeneous networks. The proposed protocol, so-called, "Hybrid Mobile IP" tries to provide a synergy effect by integrating Client Mobile IPv4 (CMIPv4) and Proxy Mobile IPv4 (PMIPv4), and using the two mobility protocols selectively according to the situation of real heterogeneous networks.

  • Although the electrophoretic deposition method has the advantage of simple processing procedure, less fabrication facilities, and easier control for deposition thickness and wire length, providing economical and technical merits, it also has the disadvantages of cracking and porosity phenomena, requiring an improved processing method for higher particle density and constant particle orientation. we have developed an optimization method to increase the particle density and to unify its orientation, and have performed a study to overcome the cracking and porosity problems in the fabricated superconductor. In order to improve the surface uniformity and the conduction properties of the fabricated YBCO thick films, a system that applies alternate voltage vertically has been developed for the first time and applied to the electrophoretic deposition process. The applied alternate electric field caused a force to be exerted on each YBCO particle and resulted in a rotation of the particle in the direction of applied electric field, accomplishing a uniform particle orientation. We name this process as the shaky-aligned electrophoretic deposition method. For commercial utilization and efficiency, in this dissertation, alternating voltage of 60 Hz and 25 ∼ 120 V/cm was proposed to apply it as a subsidiary source for shaky-flow deposition so that the fabricated thin film showed uniform surface morphology with less voids and cracks and Tc,zero of 90 K and the critical current density of 3419 A/$cm^2$.

Simulation of reactivity-initiated accident transients on UO2-M5® fuel rods with ALCYONE V1.4 fuel performance code

  • The ALCYONE multidimensional fuel performance code codeveloped by the CEA, EDF, and AREVA NP within the PLEIADES software environment models the behavior of fuel rods during irradiation in commercial pressurized water reactors (PWRs), power ramps in experimental reactors, or accidental conditions such as loss of coolant accidents or reactivity-initiated accidents (RIAs). As regards the latter case of transient in particular, ALCYONE is intended to predictively simulate the response of a fuel rod by taking account of mechanisms in a way that models the physics as closely as possible, encompassing all possible stages of the transient as well as various fuel/cladding material types and irradiation conditions of interest. On the way to complying with these objectives, ALCYONE development and validation shall include tests on $PWR-UO_2$ fuel rods with advanced claddings such as M5(R) under "low pressure-low temperature" or "high pressure-high temperature" water coolant conditions. This article first presents ALCYONE V1.4 RIA-related features and modeling. It especially focuses on recent developments dedicated on the one hand to nonsteady water heat and mass transport and on the other hand to the modeling of grain boundary cracking-induced fission gas release and swelling. This article then compares some simulations of RIA transients performed on $UO_2$-M5(R) fuel rods in flowing sodium or stagnant water coolant conditions to the relevant experimental results gained from tests performed in either the French CABRI or the Japanese NSRR nuclear transient reactor facilities. It shows in particular to what extent ALCYONE-starting from base irradiation conditions it itself computes-is currently able to handle both the first stage of the transient, namely the pellet-cladding mechanical interaction phase, and the second stage of the transient, should a boiling crisis occur. Areas of improvement are finally discussed with a view to simulating and analyzing further tests to be performed under prototypical PWR conditions within the CABRI International Program. Characteristics of Unsold Land and Sites Needing Value Enhancement (미매각 토지의 원인진단 및 가치제고 사업지구 선정 방안)

  • This paper defined the concept of unsold land and diagnosed the cause of unsold land of LH business site. The results are showing as follows. First, unsold land is defined as land could not be sold until the completion of the project, and plan to sell the unsold land can be changed partially. Second, the status of unsold land in the 226 project sites were analyzed. $146km^2$ area corresponding to 74.8% of the total capital area($195km^2$) are unsold. By purpose, co-residential($38km^2$), industry($21km^2$), exclusive residential($16.4km^2$), commercial business($12.5km^2$), education($10.2km^2$) was larger in order. Third, value enhancement target project sites were selected and its symptoms and the cause of unsold land were analyzed. For the project site over average unsold rate, 6 sites located in province and 2 sites located in capital region were selected through collecting the practitioners and expert opinion. These 8 sites are characterized that sale of land for medium and large co-residential, urban support facilities, block-shaped house and attached house was inactive. Also, these sites commonly experienced economic fluctuations, changes in market demand, supply and demand mismatch, inflexible planning standards.

Assessing Biosecurity Practices on Commercial Pig Farms across Korea and Risk Factors for Porcine Circovirus Type 2 Infection (국내 양돈장의 차단방역 수준 평가 및 돼지써코바이러스 2형 감염의 위험요인에 관한 연구)

  • The primary aim of this study was to investigate biosecurity practices in pig farms and to determine the major risk factors associated with PCV2 infection for a sampled swine population in Korea. To this end, we analyzed data from a cross-sectional study of 296 farrow-to-finish farms, which was conducted between March and September 2014 to explore the prevalence of swine disease at farm level. Face-to-face interviews by on-site visit of trained veterinarians were conducted with the farm owners or managers using a standardized questionnaires with information about basic demographical data and management practices. Farms were classified as negative or positive through the use of infection profiles that combined data on serological testing including PCR antigen test result, antibody titer and sero-conversion pattern at each age category taking into account vaccination status. Data were analyzed using multivariate ordinal logistic regression. Results from this study indicated that biosecurity level of the farms was considered not good given low compliance of the biosecurity programs and facilities in the farm: off-site removal of dead stocks (7%), off-site location of storage facility for incoming feeds (12.6%), off-site pick-up location for finishers (19.3%), restrictions on feed supplier vehicles for farm entrance (19.6%), restriction of finisher trucks entering the farm (22.4%), and restriction on manure disposal trucks entering the farm (26.4%). In the final model (n = 255), allowance of finisher truck driver to the pig unit had increased risk of infection (OR = 2.4, 95% CI 1.22-4.67) whereas farms with a sign forbidding the entrance had decreased risk of infection (OR = 0.19, 95% CI 0.10-0.58). Further comprehensive research with larger sample size is required to better understand the multifactorial characteristic that some predisposing risk factors that were not available in this study. To the best knowledge of the authors, this was the first study to use empirical data to report risk factors associated with PCV2 infection in the Korean pig farms. Results from the current study could be used to decide optimal biosecurity measures to reduce the impact of PCV2 infection to farmers and policy makers.

A Study on the Legal Nature of the Duty to Arrange Spill Clean-up Equipment and the Issue on the Justification of Its Privatization (방제선 등 배치의무의 법적 성질 및 민간개방의 정당성에 관한 연구)

  • Under the Korean Marine Environment Management Act (hereunder, the KMEMA), the duty to arrange spill clean-up equipments, including spill clean-up vessels, required by the article 67 of the KMEMA is in essence the provision of public goods since it is a precautionary or preventive measure for the efficient performance of oil spill cleaning up. Also the obligation to control marine pollution and the duty to arrange of anti-pollution measures imposed on polluters is the obligation imposed by the public law in accordance with "the Polluter-Pays Principle". Therefore, the execution of such obligations shall be accompanied by the minimum legal and institutional arrangements. On the other hand, judging whether to form the roles of the public and private sectors in providing public goods is basically a matter of policy decision. However, even if the private sector is allowed to participate in the provision of public goods, it is imperative that a minimum requirement be provided to secure the public interest. Although major countries allows polluters to conclude a preliminary contract with a civil anti-pollution management company, these civilian institutions are in principle constituted by the owners of oil storage facilities. Additionally it is worth noting that it operates as a non-profit organization. In particular, if the practitioner performs pollution control for commercial purposes, their profitability may depend on the size of the pollution, the period spent on pollution control, the size of the equipment and manpower mobilized in the pollution control, and so on. Considering the above problems, caution should be taken to allow marine environmental management companies to be un-limitedly entrusted with the responsibility of arranging measures such as pollution control. In order to allow the marine environmental management contractor to be entrusted for the assignment of duty to protect the marine environment, the marine environment management business should be expanded so that the marine pollutant management capacity satisfies the statutory control capacity. For this purpose, it is necessary to manage and supervise the maintenance and improvement of the control capability of the marine environment management business. It is also necessary to discuss the introduction of the grading system for the control ability of the civil control companies alike in major countries.

A Study on the Utilization of potential heat sources for Heat Pumps to District Heating System in Urban (도시 내 지역난방 Heat Pump용 잠재열원 이용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the available potential heat source for heat pump in the district heating supply area in the city. Unused energy potentials were estimated and integrated based on open source based data. In particular, geographical spatial analysis of recoverable heat energy density and heat demand in the heat source area of large retailers and public sauna facilities in the DH network located in the southern part of the metropolitan area (Pyeongtaek-si) was conducted. As a result of the study, the DH network area had a total potential energy of 1,741.7 toe/year for the two heat sources of large retailers and public saunas. It is estimated that 1,006.9 toe/year, which is 57.8% of the total, can be linked to the district heating. The large retailers showed a positive correlation with the floor area and energy use of 0.4937. The recoverable energy intensity was estimated to be $0.0017toe/m^2$ per unit area and $0.0069tCO_2/m^2$ for greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, public saunas were analyzed by comparing the empirical case with the theoretical calculation, and it was estimated that energy conservation estimate of 80% was $0.0315toe/m^2$ per bath area and $0.1183tCO_2/m^2$ for greenhouse gas emissions. The total potential energy amount of this area was positively correlated with the heat demand of apartment house by administrative district, and it was confirmed that it had a relatively high potential energy especially in traffic and commercial center.

A Study on the Current Status and Challenge of Core Project in Urban Regeneration -Focused on the Type of Central Commercial District- (도시재생사업에서 핵심사업의 추진 현황과 과제 -중심시가지형 사업 추진 사례를 중심으로-)

  • In urban regeneration projects, the core projects define the characteristics of the project site and contribute to the highest project cost and drive the project forward. The purpose of this study was to identify the current status and characteristics of the project as a priming project for urban regeneration and to seek desirable alternatives in the future project process. For this purpose, the case of urban regeneration projects in the Chungcheong region was targeted. The results showed that the core projects for each case consisted mainly of projects to develop physical facilities on a relatively large scale. Securing large-scale complex base space and constructing public parking lots are planned as key projects. In addition, based on the cost composition of the priming project, the core project accounted for approximately 80 % of the total project, and the project cost between linked projects does not appear to be relatively well linked in both public and private investment sectors. These findings are expected to help promote substantial urban regeneration projects and enhance efficiency by using them as basic data for urban regeneration projects in the future.

Analysis of Effect of Infrastructure Property on an Apartment Housing Price - Focused on Urban Subway System in Seoul Metropolitan Area - (사회기반시설 이용특성에 따른 공동주택의 가격 영향에 관한 연구 - 수도권 도시철도를 중심으로 -)

  • The study intends to identify the effects of infrastructure property on an apartment house by analyzing the price variation affected by factors constituting the quality of the transit services of each individual station in urban railway system based on hedonic price model. The research findings indicate that the prices depending on the transit users have increased from 7.8% to 12.2% in Seoul and decreased from 6.1% to 12.9% in Gyeonggi, which implies that a lower number of transfer users has a positive effect on housing prices in Seoul unlike Gyeonggi. It also is noteworthy that the distance to the urban railway station had a negative effect on housing prices in Seoul and positive effect in Gyeonggi. Taking these results together, in Seoul, the increase in the number of transit users had a negative effect on neighborhood housing prices. When analyzed by segments, however, an additional negative effect was observed only in the apartments located within the radius of 100 meters. It is also found that the impact of transit users varies according to the regional characteristics, such as the density of commercial facilities and the population density, and the spatial extent of negative effect also showed regional differences. These results provide implications for the planning of new stations, new cities, and land use of existing areas around stations.
