팽창 흑연을 포함한 NBR/GTR 발포체의 난연 및 발포특성 (Flame Retardancy and Foaming Properties of the NBR/Ground Tire Rubber Foams Containing Expandable Graphite)

  • 팽창 흑연을 포함한 NBR/GTR 발포체를 제조하고, 이들의 난연특성 및 발포특성에 팽창 흑연이 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 고무재료로 NBR만을 사용한 경우 팽창 흑연 30 phr, 폐타이어 고무분말 (GTR)을 포함한 경우 팽창 흑연 10 phr 범위 내에서, 발포특성에 있어서는 팽창 흑연을 사용하지 않은 경우와 유사한 셀 구조 및 첨가제 분산을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 한계 산소 지수 (LOI) 분석 결과 팽창 흑연의 함량이 증가함에 따라 LOI가 증가함을, 콘칼로리미터 분석 결과 LOI분석 결과와 유사한 경향성을, 즉 LOI가 증가함에 따라 열방출속도 (HRR), 총열방출량 (THR) 등이 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 상기한 조성 내에서 우수한 난연특성을 즉, 낮은 열방출속도, 총열방출량, 유효연소열 (EHC) 등을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 연기밀도에 있어 콘칼로리미터 분석에서의 A-COY와 유사한 경향성을, TGA 분석에 있어 LOI 및 콘칼로리미터 분석결과와 대체적으로 유사함을 알 수 있었다.

표준화재에 노출된 방염처리 목재의 내부온도에 관한 연구 (Study on the Internal Temperature of Flame Resistant Treated Wood Exposed to a Standard Fire)

  • 건축 재료로 사용되는 목재의 내화성능에 관한 기존 연구들은 목재에 난연 또는 방염 처리하였을 경우 연소특성을 확인하는 것에 집중되어 졌다. 본 논문에서는 화염에 노출된 목재의 열분해와 밀접한 관련이 있는 내부 온도 변화를 확인하기 위하여 건축용 구조재로 널리 사용되는 미송(Douglas-fir)에 방염액 및 방염도료를 처리 후 표준 가열 온도 곡선에 따라 수평가열로에서 가열실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과 방염액을 처리하였을 때 목재내부의 열확산이 현저히 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며 방염도료를 처리한 시료의 경우 고온에 노출 되었을 때 도막이 박리되어 방염효과를 기대할 수 없었다. 따라서 두꺼운 목재에 방염효과를 높이기 위해서는 목재표면에 도막을 형성시키는 방염도료보다는 목재내부로 침투하는 방염액을 사용하는 것이 방화효과가 클 것으로 판단된다.

스타트모터 B단자 절연파괴 화재사례에 대한 실험적 연구 (A experimental Study on Insulation Breaking Fire Case of Starter Motor B Terminal)

  • In this paper, we introduce a case of a fire accident during parking of a large truck that is repeatedly occurring. The shape and location of the combustion and electrical singularity commonly found in other vehicle fire accidents could limit the starter motor as the ignition section. In addition, it was possible to confirm the electrical melting singularity that could act as a cause of ignition between the start motor B terminal and the start motor enclosure. By combining the above investigations and investigations, it was possible to estimate the electric fire expressed from insulation breaking of the starter motor B terminal, and by using the renewable starter motor comparison product mounted on the fire vehicle, an experiment was performed to reproduce the ignition process from the starter motor under specific conditions. So. It is hoped that this will raise awareness about vehicle fires, which can lead to large fires or casualties, share the risks of using starter motors for regeneration, and help in the rapid and accurate investigation of similar vehicle fires in the future.

포플러 목재칩을 이용한 농산촌 마을 집단난방시 연료품질, 비용, 대기환경에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Group Heating in Rural Villages Using Poplar Wood Chips on Fuel Quality, Cost, and Atmospheric Environment)

  • This study analyzes the fuel conditions and environmental effects of converting heating in rural villages that rely on fossil fuels into wood fuel. In particular, we tried to derive the most important considerations when using wooden chips as fuel in aging agricultural villages where various variables such as weather, facility characteristics, fuel quality, and maintenance capabilities work. Above all, an experiment was conducted by comparing it with oak trees to determine whether Italian poplar, a representative attribute water created to supply fuel wood in Korea, is suitable for heating fuel. Through experiments, 1) Even though the supply of poplar wood chips during 10 hours of operation was 60.74 kg less than that of hardwood chips, the production of hot water was 140 kWh higher. 2) The higher the exhaust gas temperature, the proportional (increase) oxygen concentration and inversely (decrease) PM and CO emissions. 3) Poplar has twice as much ash content as hardwood and three times more fine dust has been detected, but it meets all the standards for wood quality at the Korea Forest Science Institute. 4) Under the condition that there is a difference in water content (7.7%), hardwood cost 1.13 times more wood chips per 1 MWh than poplar, and even if the water content is corrected equally, hardwood cost 1.05 times more per 1 MWh than poplar. 5) In conclusion, it was proved that the fuel possibility, economic possibility, and environmental possibility of poplar wood chips are sufficient.

바이오매스 합성가스 적용을 위한 LPG 엔진발전기 개조 및 성능평가 (Modification of an LPG Engine Generator for Biomass Syngas Application)

  • Syngas, also known as synthesis gas, synthetic gas, or producer gas, is a combustible gas mixture generated when organic material (biomass) is heated in a gasifier with a limited airflow at a high temperature and elevated pressure. The present research was aimed at modifying the existing LPG engine generator for fully operated syngas. During this study, the designed gasifier-powered woodchip biomass was used for syngas production to generate power. A 6.0 kW LPG engine generator was modified and tested for operation on syngas. In the experiments, syngas and LPG fuels were tested as test fuels. For syngas production, 3 kg of dry woodchips were fed and burnt into the designed downdraft gasifier. The gasifier was connected to a blower coupled with a slider to help the air supply and control the ignition. The convection cooling system was connected to the syngas flow pipe for cooling the hot produce gas and filtering the impurities. For engine modification, a customized T-shaped flexible air/fuel mixture control device was designed for adjusting the correct stoichiometric air-fuel ratio ranging between 1:1.1 and 1.3 to match the combustion needs of the engine. The composition of produced syngas was analyzed using a gas analyzer and its composition was; 13~15 %, 10.2~13 %, 4.1~4.5 %, and 11.9~14.6 % for CO, H2, CH4, and CO2 respectively with a heating value range of 4.12~5.01 MJ/Nm3. The maximum peak power output generated from syngas and LPG was recorded using a clamp-on power meter and found to be 3,689 watts and 5,001 watts, respectively. The results found from the experiment show that the LPG engine generator operated on syngas can be adopted with a de-ration rate of 73.78 % compared to its regular operating fuel.

2기통 소형 터보가솔린엔진에서 배기 밸브 타이밍 제어에 따른 LIVC, EIVC 상태에서의 엔진 효율 영향 (Effect of Controlling Exhaust Valve Timing on Engine Efficiency in LIVC and EIVC States in a 2-Cylinder Small Turbo Gasoline Engine)

  • This study examines whether engine fuel efficiency is improved by optimization of the exhaust valve timing in a state where the intake valve timing has been optimized in a small turbo gasoline engine that has intake cams and exhaust cams with fixed valve opening periods. When the exhaust valve is opened late, the expansion stroke is longer, and the efficiency can be improved. A 2-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with 0.8 liters of displacement and an MPI (Multi Point Injection) fuel system was used. The engine was operated at 1,500 and 3,000 rpm, and the load conditions included a partial load of 50 N·m and a high load of 70 N·m. Data was recorded as the exhaust valve timing was controlled, and this was used to calculate the efficiency of combustion using a heat release, the fuel conversion efficiency, and the pumping loss. Results and the hydrocarbon concentrations in the exhaust gas were compared for each condition. Experiment results confirmed that additional fuel efficiency improvements are possible through exhaust valve timing control at 1,500 rpm and 50 N·m. However, in other operating conditions, fuel efficiency improvements could not be obtained through exhaust valve timing control because cases where the pumping loss and fuel/air mixture slip increased when the exhaust valve timing changed and the fuel efficiency declined.

국부 근접 난방 모듈을 이용한 전기차 탑승자의 열쾌적성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on Thermal Comfort of Electric Vehicle Occupants Using Local Proximity Heating Module)

  • In order to meet the technological demand for indoor heating systems that ensure winter thermal comfort during the transition from internal combustion engines to electrification, a localized proximity heating module using surface heating elements was developed. The operational performance of heating module was tested in the low temperature chamber. The experiment conditions were varied by changing the chamber temperature (-10, 0℃), the air flow rate (6.2, 6.0, 4.2m3/h), the heater power (100, 80, 60, 40W). Thermal comfort model was confirmed using the CBE Thermal Comfort Tool applying ASHRAE standard 55. Under -10℃ condition, thermal comfort was satisfied at 23.4, 23.2℃ at power of 100W and air flow rate 6.0, 4.6m3/h. Under 0℃ condition, at power of 80W, air flow rate 6.2, 6.0m3/h, and at power of 60W, air flow rate 4.6m3/h showed results of 25.7, 26.1, 23.0℃, respectively, satisfying thermal comfort. This study analyzed the operating performance of the local proximity heating module in the low temperature chamber and applied thermal comfort model to prove applicability of local proximity heating module using surface heating elements and how to utilize the thermal comfort model.

직접분사식 디젤엔진에서 아산화질소의 생성에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Experimental Study on Nitrous Oxide Formation in Direct Injection Diesel Engine)

  • 일반적으로 선박용 디젤엔진의 아산화질소($N_2O$)배출률은 이산화황($SO_2$)배출률과 밀접한 상관성을 갖고 있고, 선박에서 사용되는 연료의 다양성은 $N_2O$배출특성에 영향을 미친다고 받아들여져 왔다. 최근의 연구보고에 의하면 연료 연소에서 발생한 충분한 일산화질소(NO)가 존재할 경우, 배기의 $SO_2$배출률이 $N_2O$생성에 미치는 영향은 NO의 영향보다 막대하게 크다. 그러므로 $SO_2$성분으로부터 기인하는 $N_2O$생성은 NOx저감을 위한 배기가스 재순환(EGR) 시스템에서 중요한 인자로 작용한다. 본 실험적인 연구의 목적은 $SO_2$유량 증가를 갖는 디젤엔진의 흡기가 배기의 $N_2O$배출률에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하는 것이다. 실험에 사용된 테스트 엔진은 2600rpm에서 12kW의 출력을 갖는 4행정 직접분사식 디젤엔진이고, 운전조건은 75% 부하에서 실시되었다. 0.499%($m^3/m^3$)의 $SO_2$표준가스는 흡기의 $SO_2$농도를 변화시키기 위해 사용되었다. 결과적으로 황 성분을 포함하지 않는 연료는 $SO_2$를 배출시키지 않았고, 흡기 중에 $SO_2$표준가스의 증가에 따른 배기의 $SO_2$배출률은 $SO_2$흡입률과 비교하여 거의 같은 비율이었다. 또한, 흡기의 $SO_2$유량 상승은 $N_2O$배출률을 상승시켜 배기 중의 $N_2O$는 흡기의 $SO_2$혼합기에 의해 생성되었다. 결국 황 성분을 함유한 연료는 연소 중에 $SO_2$를 형성하고 배기 중의 $N_2O$는 연소실에 존재하는 NO와 $SO_2$의 반응에 의해 발생된다고 할 수 있다.

Kaolinite 계열의 첨가제와 알칼리염의 반응 특성 (Reaction Characteristics of Kaolinite-based Additives and Alkali Salts)

  • 폐기물고형연료(SRF, Bio-SRF)가 보일러에서 연소 될 때, 연료에 다량 함유되어있는 알칼리 성분(Na, K) 들이 연소과정에서 문제를 발생시킨다. 알칼리 성분은 낮은 melting point를 가지고 있어 통상 연소로 온도 내에서 저융점 염을 형성하고, 생성된 저융점 염들은 전열관에 달라붙어 클링커를 형성한다. 클링커생성을 억제하기 위해 다양한 첨가제가 사용되고 있으며, 고령석 기반의 첨가제는 알칼리-알루미늄-실리카가 형성되어 클링커를 억제한다. 본 연구에서는 고령석을 기반으로 하는 첨가제의 반응성을 비교 하였다. 사용된 첨가제는 R-kaolinite, B-kaolinite, A-kaolinite를 사용하였고 비교군 으로 silica와 MgO를 사용하였다. 실험은 실험실 규모의 회분식 수평형 반응기를 사용하였다. 첨가제와 알칼리염은 중량비 1:1로 반응토록 하였으며 반응 온도는 900 ℃에서 10시간 수행하였다. 실험 중 발생한 HCl은 검지관을 사용하여 30분 후 첫 측정을 하고 이후 1시간마다 반복하여 측정하였다. 반응 후 고체 잔여물은 특성 분석을 위하여 광학현미경으로 촬영하였다. 분석결과를 토대로 고령석의 반응특성을 확인하였다.

The Use of Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) for Broiler Carcass Analysis

  • NIRS uses reflectance signals resulting from bending and stretching vibrations in chemical bonds between carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, sulfur and oxygen. These reflectance signals are used to measure the concentration of major chemical composition and other descriptors of homogenized and freeze-dried whole broiler carcasses. Six strains of chicken were analyzed and the NIRS model predictions compared to reference data. The results of this comparison indicate that NIRS is a rapid tool for predicting dry matter (DM), fat, crude protein (CP) and ash content in the broiler carcass. Males and females of six commercial strain crosses of broiler chicken (Gallus domesticus) were used in this study (6$\times$2 factorial design). Each strain was grown to 16 weeks of age, and duplicate serial samples were taken for body composition analysis. Each whole carcass was pressure-cooked, homogenized, and a representative sample was freeze-dried. Body composition determined as follows: DM by oven dried method at 105$^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours, fat by Mojonnier diethyl ether extraction, CP by measuring nitrogen content using an auto-analyzer with Kjeldhal digest and ash by combustion in a muffle furnace for 24 hour at 55$0^{\circ}C$. These homogenized and freeze-dried carcass samples were then scanned with a Foss NIR Systems 6500 visible-NIR spectrophotometer (400-2500nm) (Foss NIR Systems, Silver Spring, MD., US) using Infra-Soft-International, ISI, WinISl software (ISI, Port Matilda, US). The NIRS spectra were analyzed using principal component (PC) analysis. This data was corrected for scatter using standard normal “Variate” and “Detrend” technique. The accuracy of the NIRS calibration equations developed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) for predicting major chemical composition and carcass descriptors- such as body mass (BM), bird dry matter and moisture content was tested using cross validation. Discrimination analysis was also used for sex and strain identification. According to Dr John Shenk, the creator of the ISI software, the calibration equations with the correlation coefficient, $R^2$, between reference data and NIRS predicted results of above 0.90 is excellent and between 0.70 to 0.89 is a good quantifying guideline. The excellent calibration equations for DM ($R^2$= 0.99), fat (0.98) and CP (0.92) and a good quantifying guideline equation for ash (0.80) were developed in this study. The results of cross validation statistics for carcass descriptors, body composition using reference methods, inter-correlation between carcass descriptors and NIRS calibration, and the results of discrimination analysis for sex and strain identification will also be presented in the poster. The NIRS predicted daily gain and calculated daily gain from this experiment, and true daily gain (using data from another experiment with closely related broiler chicken from each of the six strains) will also be discussed in the paper.
