Purpose : Various studies effects of mental practice. However, there is a lack of research on the effects of practice on postural alignment. Therefore this study to the effect of ankle exercise combined with mental practice on postural alignment of legs. Method : Subjects were randomly assigned to mental practice group (experimental group n=15) and general exercise group (control group n=15). Postural alignment was the hip, knee, and ankle joints. When viewed from the side, an arbitrary point in front of the malleolus makes a straight line with the plumb line. Exercise was performed a week for weeks. Exercise programs included muscle strengthening, relaxation, and proprioception exercise. The experimental group mental practice. Result : Both groups showed significant differences in postural alignment ankle joint, knee joint, and hip joint. In particular, the experimental group showed a larger change than the control group. However, significant difference in postural alignment change only the knee joint (p<0.05), and there was no significant difference the hip joint (experimental group=$0.77{\pm}0.81$, control group=$0.87{\pm}1.13$) and ankle joint (experimental group=$0.52{\pm}0.63$, control group=$0.48{\pm}0.41$). Conclusion : This study suggests that mental practice is effective as an exercise method postural alignment. Mental practice also expected to be musculoskeletal disorders. Therefore, additional studies should be conducted to verify the effect of mental practice on the alignment of various parts.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the efficacy of flexible pole training combined with lumbar stabilization in improving trunk muscle activities and to investigate the difference according to posture in young adults. Methods: Twenty-five participants were enrolled in this study. The subjects were randomly allocated into either the flexible pole group or the rigid pole group. Participants performed lumbar stabilization exercises on quadruped and curl-up, with the flexible pole or rigid pole. Electromyography was used to assess the percent maximal voluntary isometric contracion (%MVIC) of the rectus abdominis (RA), external oblique (EO), internal oblique (IO), and erector spine (ES) muscles. All participants completed one 30-minute session per day, 3 days per week, for 6 weeks. The evaluation was performed before and 6 weeks after the training, and follow-up. The data were analyzed using independent t-test and two-way repeated measure analysis of variance to determine the statistical significance. Results: The flexible pole in curl-up showed significant differences in EO and IO muscle activities compared with the rigid pole. The flexible pole in quadruped showed significant differences in IO and ES muscle activities compared with the rigid pole. The RA, EO, IO, and ES muscle activities of both groups were significantly higher after 6 weeks training. Conclusion: The flexible pole in curl-up and quadruped showed an improvement in trunk muscle activation. The flexible pole combined with lumbar stabilization will be useful as an exercise tool to improve activity of trunk muscles.

PURPOSE: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of combined Joint Mobilization and Functional Electrical Stimulation on Muscle Activation and Mobility of ankle joints in stroke patients and their Modified Functional Reach Test (MFRT) results. METHODS: A total of 26 patients with stroke were randomly selected for enrollment in this study. (1) Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) (2) combined Joint Mobilization and FES. An EMG system was used to measure tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius activities. Range Of Motion (ROM) of Ankle Joint and MFRT for Dynamic Balance. Pre and post intervention results were compared by paired-t-tests and differences in changes after intervention between groups were identified by the independent t-test. RESULTS: The muscle activation, ROM, and MFRT differed significantly in the experimental group (p<.05). The ROM was significantly different for the active dorsiflexion pre and post intervention in the group that received FES alone (p<.05). CONCLUSION: The results of this study suggest use of a systematic program of proactive posture control to prevent dysfunction when planning interventions for ankle joints can help stroke patients walk efficiently.

One of the most important features of the Mobile Manipulator is redundant freedom. Using it's redundant freedom, a Mobile Manipulator can move in various modes, and perform dexterous motions. In this paper, to improve robot job performance, two robots -mobile robot, task robot- are joined together to perform a job, we studied the optimal position and posture of a Mobile Manipulator to achieve a minimum of movement of each robot joint. Kinematics of mobile robot and task robot is solved. Using the mobility of a Mobile robot, the weight vector of robots is determined. Using the Gradient method, global motion trajectory is minimized, so the job which the Mobile Manipulator performs is optimized. The proposed algorithm is verified with PURL-II which is Mobile Manipulator combined Mobile robot and task robot, and the results are discussed.
The objective of this study is to investigate the perceived discomfort for postures combined with shoulder flexion/extension and elbow flexion, and external load. 12 healthy male undergraduate and graduate students participated in this experiment. Experimental variables were the shoulder flexion/extension angle(-20°, 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°), the elbow flexion angle (0°, 45°, 120°), and the external load(0, 1.5Kg, 3Kg) as independent variables and a whole body perceived discomfort using Borg's CR10 as a dependent variable. The subjects maintained the given posture for 60 seconds and then rated the perceived discomfort. The ANOVA results showed that all main factors and two-way interactions were statistically significant at α=0.05. As a result of regression analysis to examine the effect of external load on the perceived discomfort, the perceived discomfort linearly increased as the level of external load increased. Then, the effect of external load on the perceived discomfort was quantitatively classified into three levels based on the result of regression analysis.
With the continuous development of deep learning, human behavior recognition algorithms have achieved good results. However, in a multi-person recognition environment, the complex behavior environment poses a great challenge to the efficiency of recognition. To this end, this paper proposes a multi-person pose estimation model. First of all, the human detectors in the top-down framework mostly use the two-stage target detection model, which runs slow down. The single-stage YOLOv3 target detection model is used to effectively improve the running speed and the generalization of the model. Depth separable convolution, which further improves the speed of target detection and improves the model's ability to extract target proposed regions; Secondly, based on the feature pyramid network combined with context semantic information in the pose estimation model, the OHEM algorithm is used to solve difficult key point detection problems, and the accuracy of multi-person pose estimation is improved; Finally, the Euclidean distance is used to calculate the spatial distance between key points, to determine the similarity of postures in the frame, and to eliminate redundant postures.
The aim of this study was to investigate the alteration of lumbar spine and trunk postures on different load-carrying types and amounts under static loading. Two load-carrying types(unilateral carrying: UC vs. bilateral carrying: BC) and four different loads(0, 5, 10, and 15 kg) were randomly tested in this study. Carrying a heavy bag would affect human body posture, specifically lumbar spine curvature, which is considered as one of sources of back problems. Previous studies have not paid attention to the approach of the multisegment model of the lumbar spine and trunk. This study separated two compartments of trunk segment(the lumbar and thorax) in the analysis. The multisegment model of the lumbar spine in addition to Helen-Hayes marker set was used. Eight motion analysis cameras and a force plate were utilized. Ten male subjects(mean mass, $70.6{\pm}3.97$ kg; mean height, $178{\pm}4.18$ m) having no musculoskeletal disease participated in this study. We analyzed trunk angles in three anatomical planes and the spinal curvature in sagittal and frontal planes. Increased loading in both UC and BC significantly resulted in increases in trunk forward lean but only UC induced increases in trunk lateral lean. In addition, increased loading in BC produced flatten lumbar curvature in sagittal plane. As far as coupling motion, subjects tended to use axial rotation of the lumbar spine in transverse plane in response to increased UC loading. Finally, it is concluded that the increased static loading in UC rather than in BC tends to causes combined alterations of the spinal postures(sagittal and transverse planes together), which would be vulnerable to improper mechanical stresses on the spine.

This paper proposes a method for detecting smoking behavior in images using artificial intelligence technology. Since smoking is not a static phenomenon but an action, the object detection technology was combined with the posture estimation technology that can detect the action. A smoker detection learning model was developed to detect smokers in images, and the characteristics of smoking behaviors were applied to posture estimation technology to detect smoking behaviors in images. YOLOv8 was used for object detection, and OpenPose was used for posture estimation. In addition, when smokers and non-smokers are included in the image, a method of separating only people was applied. The proposed method was implemented using Google Colab NVIDEA Tesla T4 GPU in Python, and it was found that the smoking behavior was perfectly detected in the given video as a result of the test.
A floor system have played a major part in the living in Korean house. It is an essential element in the residential houses. Uufortunately, a design method of the floor heating system for the human thereat comfort has not established in Korea system. This paper aims to review the previous researches to find the issue for the futher study of comfort floor heating design. The following results were obtained: 1) Nevins et at conducted experiments on the effect of the comfortable of floor and air temperatures on the psychological responses by a large number of subjects. Its objective was to find the combined condition to obtain thermal comfort for sedentary posture.7here has never been researches regarding a sitting Person on the heated floor. 2) Some investigation in Japan on the effect of floor heating system on a sitting person on the floor have been conducted for these years, but they are net based on the human heat balance but on only psychological responses. 3) Hirayama et al developed an indication method of the effect of heat conduction on the sedentary person.4) There are few researches on the human thermal comfort compared whth indoor environmental researches on mechanical controls in Korea. Thus, the further study on the followings in needed the estimaiing of heat conduction between tile hunman body and a floor, developing an index expressed the combined effect of convection, radiation and conduction and its associated experiments.
