Design of the Combined Direct and Indirect Adaptive Neural Controller Using Fuzzy Rule (퍼지규칙에 의한 직.간접 혼합 신경망 적응제어시스템의 설계)

  • In this paper, the direct and indirect adaptive controller are combined based on the Lyapunov synthesis approach. The Proposed controller is constructed from RBF Neural Network and weighting parameters are adjusted on-line according to some adaptation law. In this scheme, fuzzy IF-THEN rules are used to decide the combined weighting factor. In the results, proposed controller has the main advantages of both the direct adaptive controller and the indirect adaptive controller. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated through simulation results of control for one-link rigid robotics manipulator.

  • Many load modeling concepts have been proposed in the past. Efforts of load modeling may be summarized into three approaches ; the first one is to find an aggregation of various different load components scattered and distributed in an area. The second one is to find parameters to represent load from field tests, if any. And the third one is how to present the load of motor components could be represented. This paper proposes a system identification of combined load modeling to cover the second approach. In this paper, an improved method of system identification is suggested for the combined load model (dynamic and static load model) in which parameters of the equivalent induction motor. polynomial type load and their compositions.

Combined Discrete-Continuous Modeling for Supply Chain Simulation

  • Many simulation models have been built to facilitate simulation technique in designing, evaluating, and optimizing supply chains. Simulation is preferred to deal with stochastic natures existing in the supply chain. Moreover simulation has a capability to find local optimum value within each component through entire supply chain. Most of supply chain simulation models have been developed on the basis of discrete-event simulation. Since supply chain systems are neither completely discrete nor continuous, the need of constructing a model with aspects of both discrete-event and continuous simulation is provoked, resulting in a combined discrete-continuous simulation. In this paper, an architecture of combined modeling for supply chain simulation is proposed, which includes the equation of continuous portion in supply chain and how these equations are used in the supply chain simulation models. A simple example of supply chain model dealing with the strategic level of supply chain presented in this paper shows the possibility and the prospect of this approach.

  • In this paper, the direct and indirect neural adaptive controller are combined based on the Lyapunov synthesis approach. The proposed adaptive controller is constructed from RBF neural network and a set of fuzzy IF-THEN rules. And the weighting parameters are adjusted on-line according to some adaptation law for the purpose of controlling the plant to track a given trajectory. In this scheme, fuzzy IF-THEN rules are used to decide the combined weighting factor. It is shown that all the signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly bounded under mild assumptions. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated through the control of one-link rigid robotics manipulator.

  • A combined treatment system using multiple source water is becoming important as an alternative to conventional water supply for small-scale water systems. In this research, combined water treatment systems were investigated for simultaneous use of multi-source water including rainwater, ground water, river water, and reclaimed wastewater. A laboratory-scale system was developed to systematically compare various combinations of water treatment processes, including sand filtration, microfiltration (MF), granular activated carbon (GAC), and nanofiltration (NF). Results showed that the efficiency of combined water treatment systems was affected by the quality of feed waters. In addition, a simply approach based on the concept of linear combination was suggested to support a decision-making for the optimum water treatment systems with the consideration of final water quality.

  • The main intention of this paper is to develop and compare the algorithm based on finite element procedures for nonlinear transient dynamic analysis which has combined effects of material and geometric nonlinearities. Incremental equilibrium equations based on the principle of virtual work are derived by the finite element approach. For the elasto - plastic large deformation analysis of shells and the determination of the displacement-time configuration under time-varying loads, the explicit, implicit and combined explicit-implicit time integration algorithm is adopted. In the time structure is selected and the results are compared with each others. Isoparametric 8-noded quadrilateral curved elements are used for shell structure in the analysis and for geometrically nonlinear elastic behaviour, a total Lagrangian coordinate system was adopted. On the other hands, material nonlinearity is based on elasto-plastic models with Von-Mises yield criteria. Thus, the combined explicit-implicit time integration algorithm is benefit in general case of shell structure, which is the result of this paper.

  • Inverse radiation problems were solved for estimating boundary temperature distribution in a way of function estimation approach in an axisymmetric absorbing, emitting and scattering medium, given the measured radiative data. In order to reduce the computational time fur the calculation of sensitivity matrix, automatic differentiation and Broyden combined method were adopted, and their computational precision and efficiency were compared with the result obtained by finite difference approximation.. In inverse analysis, the effects of the precision of sensitivity matrix, the number of measurement points and measurement error on the estimation accuracy had been inspected using quasi-Newton method as an inverse method. Inverse solutions were validated with the result acquired by additional inverse methods of conjugate-gradient method or Levenberg-Marquardt method.

  • In this study, we address the problem of producing probability forecasts of summer seasonal rainfall, on the basis of Hindcast experiments from a ensemble of GCMs(cwb, gcps, gdaps, metri, msc_gem, msc_gm2, msc_gm3, msc_sef and ncep). An advanced Hierarchical Bayesian weighting scheme is developed and used to combine nine GCMs seasonal hindcast ensembles. Hindcast period is 23 years from 1981 to 2003. The simplest approach for combining GCM forecasts is to weight each model equally, and this approach is referred to as pooled ensemble. This study proposes a more complex approach which weights the models spatially and seasonally based on past model performance for rainfall. The Bayesian approach to multi-model combination of GCMs determines the relative weights of each GCM with climatology as the prior. The weights are chosen to maximize the likelihood score of the posterior probabilities. The individual GCM ensembles, simple poolings of three and six models, and the optimally combined multimodel ensemble are compared.

  • In orthogonal cutting a new approach for modeling of burr formation process when tool exits workpiece is proposed. The approach is based on the rigid-plastic FEM combined with the ductile fracture criterion and the element kill method. The approach is applied to simulate a plane strain cutting process. The results of the FEM are compared with those of the experiment. It is shown that the fracture location and fracture angle as well as cutting force can be predicted using the proposed approach with a good correlation to experimental results.
