  • In digital communication system that the Modified Constant Modulus Algorithm (MCMA) reduced the use of the adaptive equalization algorithm to combat the Inter-symbol Interference (ISI). MCMA is relatively brief operation. The major point of MCMA that it only achieves moderate convergence rate and steady state mean square error (MSE). In this paper suggest, MCMA equalization improve the performance with parallel structure. It combines Modified Constant Modulus Algorithm(MCMA) and Modified Decision Directed(MDD) algorithm. By exploiting the inherent structural relationship between the 4-QAM signal's coordinates and 16-QAM signal's coordinates, another style of cost function for Modified Constant Modulus Algorithm(MCMA) is defined and If it happen to offset of received signals and MCMA is poor performance in order to overcome this because the paper combines apply for MCMA and MDD(Modified Decision Direct) algorithm. By computer simulation, we confirmed that the proposed PMCMA-MDD algorithm has the fater convergence rate and steady mean square error than the conventional MCMA.

  • The fighter aircraft uses several different loading configurations for air-to-surface and air-to-air combat missions. To maintain wings-level flight with an asymmetric weapon configuration, a pilot controls a roll trim system. However, it is difficult to apply an accurate roll trim input for wings-level flight in the actual flight under disturbance. The inaccurate roll trim input degrades the performance of the roll autopilot system. In this paper, to solve this problem, an integrator was additionally designed in the command part of the roll autopilot system. The initial transient response was improved by scheduling the limiter to restrict the roll attitude error. As a result of the evaluation of the simulation for the designed flight control law, the roll attitude following performance was found to be improved in the autopilot system operation under the inaccurate roll trim condition.

  • In the military logistics, the Outsourcing such as 3PL (3rd Party Logistics) and 4PL has emerged recently as an important agenda. However, when 3PL applied prematurely, side effects will occur such as the loss of combat power in wartime, the security vulnerabilities and the high cost by a small amount of military order. Recently, the developed countries such as the United States and the Britain want to compensate for these side effects. Therefore, They are developing the private-public competitive sourcing concept for the complementary partnership and the foster competition with the private sector. To apply this concept to the Korean Military, they need to be reorganized and promote the efficiency in the military logistics. Especially, the transportation sector. Therefore, this study, which is focused on the transportation sector, offers two kinds of measures to improve such as the Dual Pallet Standard (T11, T12) and the PLS(Palletized Loading System) truck system. Finally, these improvements will be analyzed by the simulation in this paper.

  • Recently, the necessity of VV&A and the importance of M&S are increasing in the national defense area. The purpose of VV&A is to assure a proper development of M&S and to provide users with sufficient information to determine if M&S could meet their demands. Therefore, VV&A process needs to be performed to guarantee the credibility of the M&S. However, the basic guidance and regulation of VV&A are not yet developed in Korea. This paper proposed the VV&A application process in the Korean Wartime Resource Requirement Model, focusing on the close combat situation of the model. The VV&A process provided in this paper can also be applied to other analytical models currently developing in Korea.

  • The use of space-division multiple access(SDMA) in the downlink of multiuser multi-input/multi-output(MIMO) wireless transmission systems can provide substantial gains in system throughput. When the channel state information(CSI) is available at the transmitter, a considerable performance improvement can be attained by adapting the transmission rates to the reported CSI. In addition, to combat frequency selective fadings in wideband wireless channels, bit-interleaved coded OFDM(BIC-OFDM) modulation schemes are employed to provide reliable packet delivery by utilizing frequency diversity through channel coding. In this paper, we propose an adaptive modulation and coding(AMC) scheme combined with an opportunistic scheduling technique for the MIMO BIC-OFDM with bandwidth-limited feedback channels. The proposed scheme enhances the link performance by exploiting both the frequency diversity and the multiuser diversity. To reduce the feedback information, the proposed AMC scheme employs rate adaptation methods based on an OFDM symbol rather than on the whole subchannels. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme exhibits a substantial performance gain with a reasonable complexity over single antenna systems.

  • Future combat systems can be represented as the NCW (Network Centric Warefare), which is based on the concept of Sensor-to-Shooter. A wireless video sensor networking technology, one of the core components of NCW, has been actively applied for the purpose of tactical surveillance. In such a surveillance sensor network, multi-composite sensors, especially consisting of image sensors are utilized to improve reliability for intrusion detection and enemy tracing. However, these sensors may cause a problem of requiring very high network capacity and energy consumption. In order to alleviate this problem, this paper proposes an image data transmission scheme based on resource reservation. The proposed scheme can make it possible to have more reliable image data transmission by choosing proper multiple interfaces, while trying to control resolution and compression quality of image data based on network resource availability. By the performance analysis using NS-3 simulation, we have confirmed the transmission reliability as well as energy efficiency of the proposed scheme.

  • Video is principal information that facilitates commander's immediate command decision. Due to fading characteristics of radio link, however, it is difficult to stably transmit video in a multi-hop wireless environment. In this paper, we propose a MANET structure composed of a link adaptive routing protocol and a TDMA MAC protocol to stably transmit video traffic in a ultra-narrowband video streaming network. The routing protocol can adapt to link state change and select a stable route. The TDMA protocol enables collision-free video transmission to a destination using multi-hop dynamic resource allocation. As a result of simulation, the proposed MANET structure shows better video transmission performance than proposed MANET structure without link quality adaption, AODV with CSMA/CA, and OLSR with CSMA/CA structures.

  • In the direct Gun Fire Control System(GFCS), it is essential to analyze the impact of the specific error components on the hit probability to optimize the system design. For this purpose the sensitivity equations of these error components are conveniently used, but it is too difficult to get those equations for the complex system with too many system elements. Normally sensitivity analysis is performed using numerical and statistical methods for the ground combat system. This method requires much computation, and makes us difficult to estimate the sensitivity change of specific error component intuitionally for the changing operating conditions. In this paper we propose a set of sensitivity equations deriving from closed form solution of the ballistic differential equation for the bullet. They are handy equations with very little computations, easy to understand the physical meaning of the related system variables. Some simulation results are shown to demonstrate usefulness of our algorithm for the 30mm projectile.

  • Owing to the rapid development of infrared guided weapon systems, the threat to aircraft survivability is constantly increasing, and research on infrared stealth technologies are being conducted to ensure aircraft survival. In this study, we analyze the minimum infrared signature of an aircraft according to its flight altitude by considering the characteristics of infrared guided missiles, which detect the contrast signature between the aircraft and background. We conducted computational fluid dynamics simulations for the convective coefficient, and heat transfer simulations were performed considering convection, conduction, and radiation for flight conditions. Thus, we obtained the surface temperature distribution of the aircraft and analyzed the aircraft infrared signature based on the flow characteristics around it. Furthermore, the optimum emissivity for the minimum infrared signature was derived, and the effect of the infrared signature was analyzed when this optimum emissivity was applied to the fuselage surface for each flight condition.

  • For decades, creating a desired locomotive motion in a goal-oriented manner has been a challenge in character animation. Data-driven methods using generative models have demonstrated efficient ways of predicting long sequences of motions without the need for explicit conditioning. While these methods produce high-quality long-term motions, they can be limited when it comes to synthesizing motion for challenging novel scenarios, such as punching a random target. A state-of-the-art solution to overcome this limitation is by using a GAN Discriminator to imitate motion data clips and incorporating reinforcement learning to compose goal-oriented motions. In this paper, our research aims to create characters performing combat sports such as boxing, using a novel reward design in conjunction with existing GAN-based approaches. We experimentally demonstrate that both the Adversarial Motion Prior [3] and Adversarial Skill Embeddings [4] methods are capable of generating viable motions for a character punching a random target, even in the absence of mocap data that specifically captures the transition between punching and locomotion. Also, with a single learned policy, multiple task controllers can be constructed through the TimeChamber framework.
