  • In this paper, we implemented a deep learning-based automatic object tracking and handy motion control drone system and analyzed the performance of the proposed system. The drone system automatically detects and tracks targets by analyzing images obtained from the drone's camera using deep learning algorithms, consisting of the YOLO, the MobileNet, and the deepSORT. Such deep learning-based detection and tracking algorithms have both higher target detection accuracy and processing speed than the conventional color-based algorithm, the CAMShift. In addition, in order to facilitate the drone control by hand from the ground control station, we classified handy motions and generated flight control commands through motion recognition using the YOLO algorithm. It was confirmed that such a deep learning-based target tracking and drone handy motion control system stably track the target and can easily control the drone.

  • Real-Time object tracking has emerged as an important component in several application areas including machine vision. surveillance. Human-Computer Interaction. image-based control. and so on. And there has been developed various algorithms for a long time. But in many cases. they have showed limited results under uncontrolled situation such as illumination changes or cluttered background. In this paper. we present a novel. computationally efficient algorithm for tracking human face robustly under illumination changes and cluttered backgrounds. Previous algorithms usually defines color model as a 2D membership function in a color space without consideration for illumination changes. Our new algorithm developed here. however. constructs a 3D color model by analysing plenty of images acquired under various illumination conditions. The algorithm described is applied to a mobile head-eye robot and experimented under various uncontrolled environments. It can track an human face more than 100 frames per second excluding image acquisition time.

  • This paper presents a framework of real-time augmented reality on 3-D mobile display with stereo camera tracking. In the framework, camera poses are jointly estimated with the geometric relationship between stereoscopic images, which is based on model-based tracking. With the estimated camera poses, the virtual contents are correctly augmented on stereoscopic images through image rectification. For real-time performance, stereo camera tracking and image rectification are efficiently performed using multiple threads. Image rectification and color conversion are accelerated with a GPU processing. The proposed framework is tested and demonstrated on a commercial smartphone, which is equipped with a stereoscopic camera and a parallax barrier 3-D display.

  • Skin detection is used in many applications, such as face recognition, hand tracking, and human-computer interaction. There are many skin color detection algorithms that are used to extract human skin color regions that are based on the thresholding technique since it is simple and fast for computation. The efficiency of each color space depends on its robustness to the change in lighting and the ability to distinguish skin color pixels in images that have a complex background. For more accurate skin detection, we are proposing a new threshold based on RGB and YUV color spaces. The proposed approach starts by converting the RGB color space to the YUV color model. Then it separates the Y channel, which represents the intensity of the color model from the U and V channels to eliminate the effects of luminance. After that the threshold values are selected based on the testing of the boundary of skin colors with the help of the color histogram. Finally, the threshold was applied to the input image to extract skin parts. The detected skin regions were quantitatively compared to the actual skin parts in the input images to measure the accuracy and to compare the results of our threshold to the results of other's thresholds to prove the efficiency of our approach. The results of the experiment show that the proposed threshold is more robust in terms of dealing with the complex background and light conditions than others.

  • In this paper, we propose a real-time face detection/tracking methodology with Haar wavelets and skin color. The proposed method boosts face detection and face tracking performance by combining skin color and Haar wavelets in an efficient way. The proposed method resolves the problem such as rotation and occlusion due to the characteristic of the condensation algorithm based on sampling despite it uses same features in both detection and tracking. In particular, it can be applied to a variety of applications such as face recognition and facial expression recognition which need an exact position and size of face since it not only keeps track of the position of a face, but also covers the size variation. Our test results show that our method performs well even in a complex background, a scene with varying face orientation and so on.

  • In this paper, we propose an histogram weighted centroid based Siamese region proposal network for object tracking. The original Siamese region proposal network uses two identical artificial neural networks which take two different images as the inputs and decide whether the same object exist in both input images based on a similarity measure. However, as the Siamese network is pre-trained offline, it experiences many difficulties in the adaptation to various online environments. Therefore, in this paper we propose to incorporate the histogram weighted centroid feature into the Siamese network method to enhance the accuracy of the object tracking. The proposed method uses both the histogram information and the weighted centroid location of the top 10 color regions to decide which of the proposed region should become the next predicted object region.

  • The two dimnesional echocardiography is widely used to evaluate regional wall motion abnormaility, because of its abilities to depict left ventricluar wall motion. A new method, color kinesis is a technology or echocardiographic assessment of left ventricular wall motion. In this paper, we proposed a algorithm or color kinesis which is based on acoustic quantification and automatically detects endocardial motion during systole on a frame-by-frame basis. The echocardiograms were obtained in the short-axis views in normal subjects. Automated edge detection and endocardial contour tracing algorithm was applied to each frames, quantitative analysis based on segmentation was performed, and pre-defined color overlays superimposed on the gray scale images. Segmental analysis of color kinesis provided automated, quantitative diagnosis of regional wall motion abnormality.

  • In this paper, we present a novel vision-based method of recognizing finger actions for use in electronic appliance interfaces. Human skin is first detected by color and consecutive motion information. Then, fingertips are detected by a novel scale-invariant angle detection based on a variable k-cosine. Fingertip tracking is implemented by detected region-based tracking. By analyzing the contour of the tracked fingertip, fingertip parameters, such as position, thickness, and direction, are calculated. Finger actions, such as moving, clicking, and pointing, are recognized by analyzing these fingertip parameters. Experimental results show that the proposed angle detection can correctly detect fingertips, and that the recognized actions can be used for the interface with electronic appliances.

  • In recent year s there have been increasing interests in real-time object tracking with image information. This dissertation presents a real-time object tracking method through the object recognition based on neural networks that have robust characteristics under various illuminations. This dissertation proposes a global search and a local search method to track the object in real-time. The global search recognizes a target object among the candidate objects through the entire image search, and the local search recognizes and track only the target object through the block search. This dissertation uses the object color and feature information to achieve fast object recognition. The experiment result shows the usefulness of the proposed method is verified.

  • Automatic tracking of vehicles is important to accurately estimate the vehicle speeds in video-based traffic measurement systems and to analyze traffic flows for road construction. This paper proposes a carefully designed rule-based tracking scheme that considers the possible cases that can be appeared in the video-based vehicle racking. The proposed scheme is fast and outperforms the Mean-Shift scheme in terms of accuracy. The accuracy and the speed of the scheme would be increased by combining it with color-based searching and Kalman filters.
