Acryl and vinyl sulfone functionalized blue and orange azo dyes were prepared by the coupling reaction of 6-bromo-2-cyano-4-nitroaniline and 2,5-dimethoxy-4-(vinylsulfonyl)benzenamine with 3-acrylamido-(N,N-diethylamino)benzene and 3-methyl-(N,N-diethylamino)benzene, respectively, for the coloring of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). Allyl functionalized dye was also prepared by reacting vinyl sulfone-containing dye with allylamine. Three types of dyeing method were used: the copolymerization of reactive dye with methyl methacrylate (MMA) and dyeing by polymerization of MMA in the presence of polymeric dye and dye 2 without reactive function. The color fastness for the three PMMAs were evaluated by comparing the solubility of dye under various conditions.

Dyeing of polyester/cotton blends is usually carried out through the two-bath or one-bath two-step dyeing method using proper disperse dyes and reactive dyes for each fiber. However, the dyeing requires relatively long and complicated procedure as well as there are some problems such as lower dyeability. In the present study, new one-bath one-step dyeing process was investigated using disperse dyes having amino groups and hetero-bifunctional bridge compound(DBDCBS) including dichloro-s-triazinyl groups and ${\alpha},{\beta}$-dibromopropionylamido groups to improve the dyeability of cotton component in polyester/cotton blends. And the one-bath dyeing properties of polyester/cotton blends was evaluated by various dyeing conditions such as pH, temperature and dye concentration, The optimum dyeing condition was pH 4 and $110-120^{\circ}C$. Color fastness were relatively good because of the colvalent bond formation between DBDCBS-reacted cotton fiber and disperse dye.

Fatty polyamide that gives softness, lubrication and bulky property and alkyl imidazoline that gives durable softness and antistatic property were synthesized. then, an O/W-type durable softener (DSN) was prepared by the emulsion of the synthesized fatty polyamide and alkyl imidazoline. Emulsion stability of the DSN was good, and the mixed HLB value was 11.2. From the measurement of softness, lubrication, antistatic property, bending resistance, and color fastness, it was proved that the prepared DSN was a good durable softener for nylon.
In this study, Water Repellent Finish was carried out before dyeing on cotton fabrics. It was aimed to improve on dyeing properties of cotton fabrics with direct dye. The results obtained were summerized as follows: 1. The K/S value of water repellent finished cotton fabrics increased. This phenomena in water repellent finished cotton fabrics were much more noticiable than unfinished cotton fabrics. 2. The color fastness(light, washing, and rubbing) of water repellent finished cotton-dyed were worse than those of unfinished cotton-dyed with direct dye. △E of water repellent finished cotton fabrics wasn't showed significant difference as compared with that of unfinished cotton fabrics. 3. The water repellency of finished cotton after dyeing got down from 100 to 70. That of finished-cotton before dyeing was 100. 4. Moisture regain, stiffness and weight of finished cotton fabrics were not almost differenciated with unfinished cotton fabrics. Moreover, the tensile strength of finished cotton fabrics was increased compared to that of unfinished cotton fabrics. As conclusion, according to the above results when the cotton fabrics were dyed with direct dye, it was much more effective that water repellent finished cotton fabrics were dyed rather than trational process, that is pre-dyeing after-finishing even if, by low liquor ratio. The physical properties of fabrics were maintained or increased.
Natural dyeing of Sangju silk for graveclothes with mulberry extract solution was studied. The anthocyanidin dye in the extracted mulberry solution was markedly influenced by pH condition, which resulted in the changed maximum light absorption from a $\lambda$max of 525nm in acidic condition to 380nm in alkaline condition possibly due to the irreversible transformation of anthocyanidin to cyanidin form of the dye. The color fastness properties to both light and washing were good when the fabrics were dyed at $80^{\circ}C$ with the mulberry-extracted solution upto twice extraction.

In this study, Aftertreatment properties of PCM/Nylon sheath/core fabrics have been determined. Especially, the relationship between finishing property and content including of PCM ratio. Samples of PCM/Nylon fabrics were monitored, separately, with 2% o.w.f solutions of each of the berberine chloride, cetylpyridinium chloride(CPC), benzyldimethylhexadecyl ammonium chloride(BDHAC) and dodecyltrimetyl ammonium bromide(DTAB). Various temperatures and liquor ratio and pH conditions were also studied to optimize aftertreatment properties. Berberine chloride finished sample showed the good color fastness. Cetylpyridinium chloride(CPC) finished sample showed very effective antibacterial properties against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
This study describes the feasibility and optimization of reactive dyeing on bio treated cotton knitted fabrics. For this, cotton knitted fabrics distinctly with two different enzymes, alkaline Pectinases(Scourzyme $L^{(R)}$) and Pectate lyases(Bactosol Co. ip $liquor^{(R)}$). In this way by increasing the concentration and processing temperature, the access of enzymes towards the fatty and waxy substrate was found to be accelerated. To achieve higher absorbency and whiteness index, a series of experiments was carried out to assure that Pectate lyases enzymes possesses high access towards the fats and waxes at high temperature. To this end, cotton knitted fabrics was dyed without oxidative bleaching step. The Pectate lyases scoured and dyed fabrics showed less color difference when 2% dye shade is used. The fabrics pre-scoured with Pectate lyases showed good the light and washing fastness properties, compared to the conventional and Pectinases dyed fabrics. However pectinases enzymes showed lower activity at high temperature, caused poor wettability and whiteness index of fabrics. The improvement of the accessibility of enzyme to the pectin at higher temperature Pectate lyases treatment before dyeing was found to be useful for subsequent pectin degradation in cotton knitted fabrics.

This Study was made to investigate alkaline dyeing systems for a new dyeing applicable polyester fibers. Disperse dyes for dyeing of polyester fibers were C.I. Red 60, Blue 56 and Yellow 54 as three primary colors of E type which used widely on the scene. Dyeing properties of dispers dyes on the polyester fibers are discussed according to variation of pH values for application of alkaline dyeing method compared with to ordinary acidic dyebath. Alkaline pH of the dyebath was controlled to pH 9 and 10.5 with buffer solutions using each hydrochloride and disodiumtetraborate, disodiumtetraborate and sodium hydroxide to promote the reproducibility of dyeing. Dyeing properties of dispers dyes on the polyester fibers by alkaline dyeing method compared with to ordinary acidic dyebath were discussed by estimation of color, wash-fastness, bleeding and migration of dyed polyester fabric.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the dyeability of silk fabrics with Humulus japonicus (Hwansam) extract which is a kind of weeds that grows wild in the suburbs. In the research, the general extract method was conducted with the extract from fresh herb of root-removed Humulus japonicus while we investigated the optimal dyeing conditions and dyeability depending on the changes of the kind of mordants, methods and temperature. The functional properties such as antibacterial activities, deodorization and UV protection were also reviewed. The ideal output, as a result, was shown at 100% of dye concentration, $90^{\circ}C$ of dyeing temperature and 40 minutes of dyeing time while in terms of dye uptake depending on the kind of mordants and methods, it was found that among four mordants of $SnCl_2$, $AlK(SO_4)_2$, $CuSO_4$, and $FeSO_4$ post-mordanting with $FeSO_4$ showed the best result. Color fastness to washing, dry cleaning and rubbing was found strong at grade 4-5 and the grade to light was as good as 3 while to perspiration was good at 4-5 as well. In aspects of functional properties, it showed excellent results of 99% deodorization rate, 98% UV protection rate and 99.9% bacterial reduction against Staphylococcus aureus.

Alkali hydrolysis of sea-island PET 0.02denier microfiber were compared to those on the fabrics of the 0.06denier microfiber. In the dissolution of the sea component out of sea island type ultra-microfiber, it is important to determine the optimum division and divided material. Weight reduction of sea island ultra-micro sea island fiber was faster than regular PET about 10 times. Also 0.2denier sea-island ultra-micro sea island fiber has better color fastness (washing, friction, and daylight) than 0.06denier level sea-island ultra-microfiber. In this study, 0.2denier ultra-micro sea island fiber shows the possibility of high value product.
