  • The purpose of this study was to suggest marketing strategies to internet fashion shopping malls identifying factors that customers consider important. Data were collected by survey questionnaire and the subjects were 322 men and women in their twenties and thirties living in Seoul and Kyung-gi. SPSS 10.0 package were used and reliability, frequency, cross tabulation, chi-square, paired t-test, ANOV A and Duncan test were conducted for data analysis. The results were as follows. I) Subjects placed the most importance on providing the precise and detail information of products but its satisfaction level was low. 2) Subjects considered the ‘low price’ very importantly but its satisfaction level of it was not high. 3) Subject's importance and satisfaction level of ‘point system’ were about an average. 'Point system' has to be activated by using systems such as 'point network system' by pointbanking co. as one of price-cutting strategies. 4) Internet fashion shopping mall users treated 'the security system of personal data' importantly while they were not sufficiently satisfied with the system. 5) Female placed more importance on design and color of products and suppliance of the trendy items.

Effects of Soyoligosaccharide Intake on Fecal Bifidobaeteria and Lipid Concentration in Korean Young Women (젊은 여성에서 대두 올리고당 섭취가 변의 비피더스균 수 및 지방 농도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the effects of soy oligosaccharide consumption on feces bifidobacteria proliferation and feces lipid profiles in Korean young women. Eight healthy young women (25 - 34 years) were fed 15 g/day of soyoligosaccharide solution, containing 3 g of oligosaccharide as form of raffinose and starchyose, for 15 days with their habitual meals. Soyoligosaccharde intake increased the numbers of fecal total bacteria significantly until 10 days (p < 0.05) and the numbers of fecal bifidobactreia were significantly increased until 15 days (p < 0.05) . The fecal pH was significantly decreased (p < 0.05) by soyligosaccharide intake. Fecal lipid concentration showed the trend to increse, especially fecal triglyceride level was significantly increased by soy oligosaccharide intake (p < 0.05). The water contents of feces, the amount of feces, evacuation frequency and taking time to evacuation were not affected by soyoligosaccharide intake. The color of feces changed to yellow-brown, and hardness of stool and effort to evacuation were reduced by soyoligosaccharide intake. These results suggest that soyoligosaccharide intake (3 g/day) in young women improved the gut microflora and fecal lipid profile. Therefore, soy oligosaccharide has a potential to be used as one of the promising prebiotics, and controlled trials with larger sample sizes and longer duration are need to be studied further.

Analysis of Trench Coat Design by the Checklist Method (체크리스트법에 의한 트렌치코트 디자인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the trench coat designs shown in the latest collection by using a checklist method among many fashion design idea methods and then investigate the trend of trench coat design in multilateral directions. As for the research method, 1,307 photos selected from the photos of women's trench coats publicized from 2006 until 2011 were used for the analysis and then a frequency analysis was conducted. As a result, the types of checklist methods shown in trench coats included modification type, elimination type, conversion type, combination type, minimization type, addition type, and magnification type. In the modification type, the modification of color to the back side stood out; in the elimination type, the design eliminating epaulet stood out ; in the conversion type, conversion to jacket among many items stood out. In the combination type, the combination between different material texture and identical colors among colors stood out ; in the minimization type, the design minimizing sleeves stood out; in the addition type, the addition of sleeves among many details stood out ; in the magnification type, the design magnifying panels stood out.

Association of FABP3 Genotypes and Carcass Characteristics in Pigs

  • This study was conducted to analyze the genotypes and genes of FABP3 (Fatty-acid Binding Protein 3) in pigs using MSPI restriction enzyme and electrophoresis. Analysis of data collected from a total of 210 crossbred pigs (LYD or YLD) in Chungcheongnam-do, Korea, revealed the following. The AA genotypes of FABP3 were detected in the 750 bp and 100 bp bands, while the Aa heterotype appeared in the 850, 750 and 100 bp bands and the aa recessive homotype was detected in a single band of 850 bp. The genotype frequency of AA, Aa and aa was 46.67%, 51.43% and 1.90%, respectively. The genetic equilibrium of this population showed a significant difference (p<0.001) based on a ${\chi}^2$-test. The carcass weight, backfat thickness, marbling score, pH, drip loss, cooking loss, and meat color based on the CIE $L^*$, and $b^*$ values according to genotypes of FABP3 did not differ significantly (p>0.05); however, the CIE $a^*$ values did (p<0.05).

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a large representative data base for jeans marketing strategy. This study was to survey brand awareness and analyze brand image and consumer's seeking image. The 700 questionnaires were distributed and 656 reliable ones were used for statistical analysis. A SAS statistical package including frequency table, factor analysis, analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test, Peason's correlation test was used. The results are as follows: 1. Brand awareness involves "brand recall" based on asking a person to name recalled first, and "brand recognition" based on asking to identify brand name from 30 given brands. The result indicated that "Levi" was dominant for brand recall and Guess was dominant for brand recognition. 2. Regarding the brand image, the result showed that "Vov" was best represented for sophisticated 8t trendy brand images, "Storm" for sophisticated brand image, "Jambangee" for reasonable price & comfortable brand images, and "Levis" for classic & design/color brand images. 3. As a result of factor analysis on consumer's seeking image, six factors(characteristic/gay, intelligent/sexy, feminine/sophisticated, active/functional, cute/young, simple/comfortable) were found. Several factors had a relationship with demographic variables, preferred design, fashion interest.

A Study on Cubism Fashion Style Appearing in Modern Fashion: Focused on the 2010 S/S-2013 S/S Paris Collection (현대 패션에 나타난 큐비즘스타일패션 연구: 2010 S/S - 2013 S/S 파리컬렉션을 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the group of experts who were related to cubism, selected among the works of 2010~2013 Paris Collection based on F.G.R.(Focus Group Research). According to the results of this study, there were appeared first, 'a one-piece dress' second, 'H silhouette' third, 'cotton', in case of item distribution and frequency. The analysis was done by using the manner of expression, cubical expression, exaggeration, distortion, dismantlement, geometrical division of face, mix-match look, wraparound repetition, asymmetric structure, etc. Based on the outcomes of the analysis on figurative design elements, this study adjusted three manners appearing on cubism fashion style. First, it was 'avant garde manner' of constitution or 'dismantlement' which was compiled into multi-view representations of overlaps and viewpoints by repetitive use of color tone trimming detail. Second, it was 'geomagnetic block placement' which expresses cubism with geometric partitioning of surface and separation of panel by cutting disintegration. Finally, it was 'distortion and simplification of silhouette' which is a distortion created by constitution-line pressed thin with silhouette. It maximizes the beauty of human body outline, which was distorted by three-dimensional-manipulation, and simplified by ellipsis for another shape for the extension or expansion of detail trimming.

A Study on the Characteristics of Clothing and Configuration of Item in Foreign Adaptive-Clothing for the Disabled Seniors (국외 거동불편노인을 위한 기능성의류에 나타난 의복의 특성 및 아이템 유형)

  • This study aims to provide basic materials for adaptive-clothing development for disabled seniors by considering the characteristics of design with both functionality and beauty, which is displayed to overseas functional clothing for disabled seniors. After 341 photographs from 15 overseas websites which sold adaptive-clothing for disabled seniors were collected, their designs were analyzed. The content analysis and frequency analysis using the descriptive statistics were performed as the analytical methods for this study. The results are as follows; first, the design of buttons uses snap fasteners, zippers, Velcro fasteners and rubber bands so as to attach easily and keep fasteners unseen. Second, the used open system is the Back open, the Side open, the Front open and the Hip open. Third, in terms of design, the change follows easy and loose silhouette in order to act comfortably outdoors as well as indoors by making the design of onepiece dresses, jackets and cardigans similar to ordinaries. From the details aspect, a few trimmings such as color, patterns, ruffles around edge, laces and smooth shirring do not stand in the way and give mental please.

A Study on the Preference of Knitwears of Dermatitis Patients (피부질환자의 니트웨어 선호도에 관한 연구)

  • This study conducted a survey to find out dermatitis patients' preferred garment performance and their sentiment in spring/summer knitwears. SPSS 12.0 program was used for factor analysis, frequency analysis, T-test, ANOVA, and Duncan test. The result was as follows; First, in garments, patients required 'health hygiene', 'practicality in use care', 'skin contact' and 'easy movement'. Especially, 'skin contact' is an important property to be considered in patients' clothes. Second, in garment sensitivity, patients importantly considered 'modesty', 'feminine', 'boldness', 'decency', 'easy movement', 'youth', and 'simplicity'. Third, patients preferred simple and modest plain knitwear in light color with thin and soft fabric such as plain knit. And especially, dot pattern in knitwears should be avoided. Fourth, the preferred style of patients was that 'appropriately fit with suitable ease.' They also preferred 'front closed,' ; 'boat neckline' and 'V neckline'; 'raglan sleeve' and 'set-in sleeve'. For hem trim, they preferred 'rib'. Male preferred simple and plain style with round collar of 'tubular trim' and 'rib trim', while female preferred sophisticated and characteristic style with setin sleeve.

High Transmission Rate of Germline Chimerism Using Cultured Primordial Germ Cells in Chickens.

  • Although primordial germ cells(PGCs) have been used in the production of germline chimera, efficiency has not been satisfactory. The Present study was conducted to improve efficiency of germline chimera production using the cultured gonadal PGCs(gPGCs). Germline chimeric chickens were produced by transfer of cultured gonadal primordial germ cells from Korean Ogol Chicken (KOC) to White Leghorn (5.5-day-old) and cultured in vitro for 10 days. Approximately 200 gPGCs (2-day-old) recipient embryos from which blood had been withdrawn via the dorsal aorta prior to the injection. Recipient embryos were incubated until hatching. Germline chimerism of the chickens reaching maturity was examined by mating them with Korean Ogol Chicken. Donor-derived offspring were identified as germline chimeric chickens based on their feather color. The frequency of germline transmission of donor PGCs ranged 1.9∼60.7%. There was no difference between both sexes. Therefore, it can be concluded that efficiency of germline chimerism can be improved via using cultured gPGCs.

A Study on the Consumer's Dissatisfaction for the Clothing Product -with YWCA Consumer's claims- (시판 의류제품에 관련된 소비자 불만에 관한 연구 -YMCA 소비자 고발자료를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the consumer's claims related to clothing merchandise. By th origination stage of claims, details of claims, and treatments of claims purchasing places of clothing merchandise, the consumer's claims are analyzed which were lodged to in consumer's complaint center, Seoul YWCA, in 1981-1990. To analyze these data statistically, frequency and percentile are used. The results of analysis for consumer's claims are as next : 1. Concerning the sex distinction, female complainers are more than male complainers. About the age bracket, twenties and thirties are the most numerous. The originations of claims being various. It is laundry and dry cleaning stage out of them that rank first, and total numbers of claims for clothing products continually have increased during 1981-1990. Out of the clothing items, outerwears are of the first rank and formal wear and coat are highest in rank of outerwears. For claims about purchasing places, agency ranked first and market, department store, custome-made and discount store came after in order. 2. Concerning the contents, quality of clothing product ranks first, inferior service, price, contrast, unfair transaction ranks in order. There are claims about quality of clothing product that color change ranks first and damage and form change rank in order. 3. The treatments of claims are that counsel, exchange, refund, repair and correction rank in order.
