This study proposed a color scheme that is harmonious with the working environment of industrial sites using Birren's color harmony theory for color planning. To apply the Birren's color harmony theory to working clothes, the basic colors were chosen, and six of the eight harmony formulas of Birren excluding achromatic colors (white + grey + black) and solid color harmony (solid colors + white + black) were used to form a palette for each case. For the basic colors, the color chips of four dominant colors (yellow-green, sky-blue, blue, and violet), which were chosen from a field survey for preferences in the first step, and the production of materials in the second step were collected through the PANTONE color chips. The selected color chips were PANTONE 13-0550 TPX, PANTONE 15-4105 TPX, PANTONE 18-3949 TPX, and PANTONE 19-3720 TPX. These color chips were scanned and their RGB values were extracted through Photoshop CS. Then the colors were arranged in accordance with the Birren's color harmony formulas (Color+Tint+White, Color+Shade+Black, Tint+Tone+Shade, Shade+Tone+Black, Shade+Tone+White, and Tint+Shade+Tone+Gray). In addition, the proposed palette color schemes were applied through Birren's color harmony formulas using Texpro V 10.1 textile to the schematization of working clothes that were designed in the previous study. Palette formation in line with Birren's color harmony formulas provided scientific color arrangement results. Visually presenting the color scheme of working clothes will help the color selection of working clothes in tune with the circumstances of industrial sites.

As this research is the one analyzing the color using status of the office furniture in overseas, it surveyed and analyzed the color use on the basis of total 22 products by selecting 7 office furniture companies in overseas so as to promote the upright use of the color in planning the office furniture. As for the research method, the theory of color system (NCS) and the theory of color harmony (Ostwald and Fiber Biren), which are used in this research on the basis of the theoretical consideration for the office furniture and the definition and importance of the color, have been specified and analyzed on the basis of these. In this result, only 8 products, which are 36.4% among 22 products of 7 companies, are harmonized as per the theory of color harmony of two colors. It is expected that the effective influence may be bestowed on improvement of the office environment and increase of the work efficiency as the more planned and effective use of the color is made for the office furniture on the basis of this research.

Color planning system can be treated as a decision support system which includes both the recommendation of main color and harmonious colors. In this paper, we propose techniques that are useful to enhance the harmonious color recommendation with the main color selected by user. In order to reflect the knowledge about suggestion of harmonious colors, we use Ostwald color harmony theory, that is very systematical and easy to implement. Actually, Ostwald color space is similar to HMMD color model in MPEG-7. Due to the similarity between two color spaces, Ostwald color space can be represented as a virtual HMMD color space. Accordingly, we propose a technique to align the HMMD color space with Ostwald color space, thereby it is capable of enhancing a performance to search the harmonious colors according to Ostwald harmony theory. For recommendation of delicate and more exquisite harmonious colors in equal hue plane, we made the virtual color space continuous. The system can recommend various harmonious colors according to Ostwald color harmony. He(she) can select harmonious colors among the suggestions from the system.

This research is regarding color-analyzing Italian children's furniture and display space, in which application method of furniture display is looked at by understanding relations of furniture and display space through theoretical consideration and by understanding each factor of composition. Moreover, it establishes a formality of scientific and systematic standard in the color scheme of furniture and display space through using NCS Color System and the related Color Harmony Theory of Ostwald and Faber Birren as analysis tools. In the process of analyzing the colors of furniture and display space, I aimed to comprehend color trend of Italian children's furniture display space by comparing and analyzing Italian children's furniture dealers. I was able to comprehend the color relationship between furniture and display space from the results of analysis of examples of children's furniture display space and analysis of color deviation. Therefore, with this research I suggest the primary data and application strategy from a systematic point of view through Color Harmony Theory in color scheme of children's furniture display space in contemporary Italy.

Color harmony of Moon and Spencer is based on the Munsell color harmony theory. This harmony theory is established in the three of harmony and disharmony, the harmony of the area of effect, and Aesthetic Measure of harmony and disharmony. Aesthetic Measure here is how to obtain the quantitative expression of the degree of harmony. American scholar Burkhoff were analyzed with the proposition that beauty of Moon-Spencer is with the order in complexity. In this paper, the good and bad of coloration was divide elements of the order and the complexity. Aesthetic Measure is divided into elements of the complexity from elements of the order. This is utilized in the calculation shown in the various image, problem of color harmony and disharmony, which is treated as a sensibility was calculated by numerically. Thus Aesthetic Measure show was good or bad coloration by determining the color in the various image.

The color harmony in video was no way to know for giving pleasure. By identifying these color harmony, it gives order, clarity, similarity, contrast, etc. Therefore, to identify the color balance is very important. Color Harmony identify the color is whether the harmony by color harmony theory of Munsell, Ostwald, Firren, Moon & Spenser, Itten, Chevreul, and Judd etc. One of these methods, we identify color harmonies of 2 colors, 3 colors, 4 colors, 5 colors and 6 colors using Itten's color balance. Identification is using by Canny edge extraction, labeling and clustering, and color extraction and harmony etc. By identifying this color harmonies, we have laid the foundation of emotional database construction and emotional recognition.

This is a study on the status of color scheme of domestic office furniture. In order to pursue the planned and effective usage of color on office furniture, we investigate and analyze the status of used color based on products from four domestic office furniture companies. Once we review the definition and characteristics of office furniture, we theoretically investigate the importance of correct color planning and psychological effect based on the psychological theory as research methods. In addition, objective condition of color analysis is presented by clearly stating the color measurement which is used in this study and the NCS as analysis standards, and status of the usage of color is investigated and analyzed based on representative products from four domestic office furniture companies. Results showed that only five products which are 26.3% out of 19 products from four companies achieved a good balance based on both color harmony theories. We hope that studies to recognize the importance of usage of correct color on the office furniture, to improve the office environment and to increase the efficiency of work will be conducted continuously.

This study aims to be the useful resources for selecting play therapy facility in the future by analysis of used colors in the play therapy facility as the subsequent studies of the thesis of KIID in 2010, titled 'Study on the planning factors of case study for children's play therapy center'. As research method of this study, the overall understanding about play therapy facility was improved through theoretical considerations, and it was about the Moon-Spencer's theory of color harmony which will be used for the framework of case study. In Section 3, the field trips at 6 facilities were conducted as the case research and the data research through website was conducted for case study. Moon-Spencer's theory of color harmony used the Munsell's color Order System, so after measuring CMYK value of the picture for the case research through photo shop, the color, brightness and saturation were measured through Munsell Conversion program. The following three kinds of features were drawn by research of the harmony and disharmony of used colors for the cases after substituting the theory of color harmony through the measured color. brightness, and saturation. First. series Y and YR were used mainly for warm image as the concept of play therapy room. Second, the various colors were used for comfortable image like home. But the various patterns were used by mixing for the therapy room F, so it gives confusing impression. Third, series YR and achromatic color as the color of wood were used unavoidably for using materials of manufactured goods.

The purpose of this study is to find out the symbolic meaning of interior color a the chosun dynasty's upper class houses, and to review it from a point of view of the Western coloring harmony theory. from this study, the Oriental philosophy, the ideas of Confucianism, and the ethnic traits influenced the interior color of the Chosun Dynasty's upper class houses like an-bang or sarang-bang. The results indicated that main color, auxiliary color, accent color were harmonized with similar harmony by hue and with contrast harmony by value and chroma. Therefore, interior color image of Korean traditional houses should be applied to the various design field as well as modern interior desigv.

This paper proposes a Image retrieval system that searches the closest images to the user's emotional need and displays images with higher ratings of color harmony from Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory first. Once an emotional adjective is placed, the system searches for images with colors that contain more elements derived from Aesthetic Measure results and displays in such order. In order to test reliability of the proposed emotion retrieval method based on Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory, this study compared the order of Aesthetic Measure results with the user satisfaction ratings using 200 sample images. The analysis demonstrated that the participants' average satisfaction on 15 emotion adjectives selected for the study was 5.0 on a 7-point Likert scale. Correlation analyses were performed to test the consistency the orders between Aesthetic Measure values and user satisfaction ratings. Positive correlations above R=.5 were observed in all 14 emotion words except "Clear". These findings prove the potential of the proposed emotion retrieval system based on Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory to effectively reflect user emotion in such visual stimulus search as image database.
