신경회로망 모델을 이용한 이동로봇의 경로생성 알고리즘 (Path planning algorithm of mobile robot using neural network model)

  • The most important topic in research of mobile robot is path planning in order to avoid with obstacle. In this study the path planning algorithm using a neural network model is proposed. The inputs of neural network are range data which are acquired form laser range finderm and weights are based on difference with goal direction. The thresholds are made by consdiering the marginal distance between mobile robot and obstacle. Consequently the outputs are obtained by multiplying input and weight. The obtained heading directiion enables the mobile robot to approach the goal, without any collision with obstacles around. The effectiveness of the this method of real-time navigation of a mobile robot is estimated by computer simulation in complex environment.

The Modified Backoff Algorithm to reduce the number of collisions in the IEEE 802.11 Networks

  • In recent years, wireless ad hoc networks have become increasingly popular in both military and civilian applications due to their capability of building networks without the need for a pre-existing infrastructure. Recently, IEEE 802.11 Task Group e has been working on a new mechanism, the Enhanced Distributed Coordination Function (EDCF), to enhance the performance of 802.11 DCF. However, EDCF only reduces the internal collisions within a station, and external collisions between stations remain high in ad-hoc networks. In this paper, we propose to adopt an adaptive backoff window control technique, based on a dynamic value of the initial value of the range in which the backoff is chosen, so the backoff timer is randomly chosen in the range (InitRng, CW-1). We use ns-2 simulation to evaluate the throughput of our scheme. Results show that the throughput is improved for our scheme compared to the original DCF due to the reduced the number of collisions.

  • In this paper, we constructed the infrastructure with wireless LAN and Access Point in the indoor environment and implemented the teleoperation. Wireless LAN based teleoperation system is irregular communication delay according to environment condition and occurrence possibility of blackout is very high. In this paper, In case these problem happened, we measured communication delay time by real time, and did mobile robot to control harmoniously through vision and force reflection information. Also, we present obstacle-avoidance mode that mobile robot can travel without collision using direction information in case communication delay time is large. We proved usefulness of presented algorithm through teleoperation experiment to apply presented algorithm.

  • While Ethernet and TCP/IP are the most widely used protocol, for Real-time system, it is not applicable because it doesn't guarantee the deterministic transmission time. Furthermore, the TCP acknowledgement scheme and sliding window algorithm enforce to collide packets. Although various Collision-Free CSMA protocol was presented, it is very difficult to implement in well known OS(UNIX, WilidowsNT) because we have to modify network kernel. This paper presents another transmission protocol based on modified UDP. The colliding probability can be minimized by avoiding successive packet transmission and decreasing competition duration. The proposed algorithm can be used for the soft real-time industrial automation network.

자율운항선박의 회피 항로 적용을 위한 항로 추종 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Route following Algorithm for Application in Collision Avoidance Routes of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship)

  • 최근 자율 항해 기술의 수요가 높아져 관련 연구도 증가하는 추세이다. 자율운항선박들은 일반적으로 계획 항로를 추종하여 항해하는 도중 위험 상황에 따라 회피항로를 산출하고 산출된 항로를 추종한다. 항로 추종에는 일반적으로 자동조타장치가 활용되며, 자동조타장치의 운용 방식 중, 항로제어 모드를 자율운항선박에 적용하는 것이 현 시점에서 가장 적절한 방안이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 자동조타장치의 항해제어 모드를 활용해 회피 항로를 적용하기 위한 항로 추종 알고리즘을 개발한다. 알고리즘은 직선구간과 선회구간을 구분하여 개발하였으며, 이에 대한 성능을 검증하기 위해 국제 인증을 취득한 시뮬레이터 장비를 사용하여 관련 국제 표준인 IEC 62065에서 제시한 성능을 만족하기 위한 성능 시험을 진행하였다. 성능 검증 결과로 보았을 때, 선박이 항로를 추종함에 있어서 선박과 항로 사이의 직선거리를 나타내는 Cross Track Error가 IEC 62065에서 제시하는 성능 기준을 만족하는 것을 확인하였다.

유동적인 군집대형을 기반으로 하는 군집로봇의 경로 계획 (An Advanced Path Planning of Clustered Multiple Robots Based on Flexible Formation)

  • This paper describes an advanced formation algorithm of clustered multiple robots for their navigation using flexible formation method for collision avoidance under static environment like narrow corridors. A group of clustered multiple robots finds the lowest path cost for navigation by changing its formation. The suggested flexible method of formation transforms the basic group of mobile robots into specific form when it is confronted by particular geographic feature. In addition, the proposed method suggests to choose a leader robot of the group for the obstacle avoidance and path planning. Firstly, the group of robots forms basic shapes such as triangle, square, pentagon and etc. depending on number of robots. Secondly, the closest to the target location robot is chosen as a leader robot. The chosen leader robot uses $A^*$ for reaching the goal location. The proposed approach improves autonomous formation characteristics and performance of all system.

진동패턴 알고리즘을 적용한 조이스틱의 햅틱 구현 (Haptic Joystick Implementation using Vibration Pattern Algorithm)

  • This research proposes a vibration pattern algorithm to implement the haptic joystick to control a mobile robot at the remote site without watching the navigation environment. When the user cannot watch the navigation environment of the mobile robot, the user may rely on the haptic joystick solely to avoid obstacles and to guide the mobile robot to the target. To generate vibration patterns, there is a vibration motor at the bottom of the joystick which is held by the user to control the motion direction of the mobile robot remotely. When the mobile robot approaches to an obstacle, a pattern of vibration is generated by the motor, and by feeling the vibration pattern which is determined by the relative position of the mobile robot to the obstacle, the user can move the joystick to avoid the collision to the obstacle for the mobile robot. To generate the vibration patterns to convey the relative location of the obstacle near the mobile robot to the user, Fuzzy interferences have been utilized. To measure the distance and location of the obstacle near the mobile robot, ultrasonic sensors with the ring structure have been adopted and they are attached at the front and back sides of the mobile robot. The precise location of the obstacle is obtained by fusing the multiple data from ultrasonic sensors. Effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been verified through the real experiments and the results are demonstrated.

  • Recently, there are lots of concerning on robot agent system working for itself with the trends of the research of bio-mimetic system and intelligent robot. In this paper, a virtual 3D interface system is proposed based on Internet for remote controlling and monitoring of mobile robot. The proposed system is constructed as manager-agent model. A worker can order the robot agent move to a new position by clicking the destination on virtual space of 3D graphic interface in manager. Then the robot agent move to the position automatically with avoiding collision by using range finding and autonomous control algorithm. The proposed robot agent system lets us control the mobile robot remotely located more conveniently.

  • We present the initial results of on-going research for building a novel Mobile Haptic Interface (MHI) that can provide an unlimited haptic workspace in large immersive virtual environments. When a user explores a large virtual environment, the MHI can sense the position and orientation of the user, place itself to an appropriate configuration, and deliver force feedback, thereby enabling a virtually limitless workspace. Our MHI (PoMHI v0.5) features with omnidirectional mobility, a collision-free motion planning algorithm, and force feedback for general environment models. We also provide experimental results that show the fidelity of our mobile haptic interface.

농작업자 자동 추종 운반차 개발(II) - 주행제어시스템 보완 및 포장성능시험 - (Development of an Autonomous Worker-Following Transport Vehicle ( II ) - Supplementation of driving control system and field experiment -)

  • This study was conducted to develop a vehicle, leading or following a worker at a certain distance to assist laborious transporting works in greenhouses. A prototype vehicle was tested in the practical field conditions using a developed control algorithm. Results of this study were summarized as following: 1. The sensing device consisted of infrared sensors was attached to the front of the vehicle and turning following algorithm was developed to make the vehicle turned as it follows a worker simultaneously. 2. The measured average power consumptions were 110W and 89W, equivalent to 5.2-6.4 hrs battery durations, at low speed with and without the maximum payload, respectively. 3. Results of the travel tests showed that the deviations from the center of row spacing were $\pm$100 mm along the ridge and $\pm$85 mm along the hydroponic bed in the greenhouse. Therefore, the worker-following transport vehicle was feasible to travel along the row without collision in the greenhouse.
