  • Phospholipase A$_2$(PLA$_2$) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the sn-2 position of membrane glycerophospholipids to liberate arachidonic acid(AA), a precursor of eicosanoids including prostaglandins(PGs) and leukotrienes (LTs). The same reaction also produces lyso-phospholipids. So far, at least 19 enzymes that possess PLA2 activity have been identified, consists of low-molecular-weight, Ca$\^$2+/-requiring, secretory enzymes that have been implicated in a number of biological processes, such as modification of eicosanoid generation, inflammation, host defense, and atherosclerosis. Statistical analysis with SPSS used descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression. Results: The average item score for health promotion lifestyle was 2.58. The subscale showing the highest score was interpersonal relationship (3.03), which was followed by spiritual growth (2.94). stress management (2.54), nutrition (2.52), physical activity (2.16) and health responsibility (2.15). There were significant differences according to age, gender, BMI, perceived health state, religion, economic state, live together, major and health promotion lifestyle. The most powerful Predictors of health promotion lifestyle were the prior related behavior (51.8%) and self-efficacy (7.7%). The combination of prior related behavior, perceived self-efficacy, activity-related affect, social support, perceived stress, commitment to a plan of action accounted for 67.9% of the variance of health promotion lifestyle. Conclusion: Prior related behavior was the most powerful variable of health promotion lifestyle. • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile of women college students. Methods: The sample consisted of 248 women college students in P city. Self report questionnaires were used to measure the variables. In data analysis, SPSSWIN 20.0 program was utilized for descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and regression analysis. Results: The mean score for Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile was 2.27. In the the highest subcategories, the highest degree of performance was interpersonal relationships and the lowest degree was health responsibility. Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile was significantly different according to religion (F=3.48, p=.017), economic state(F=3.01,p=.031), perceived health state(F=8.07, p<.001), exercise frequency (F=16.02, p<.001), and self-rated knowledge about health (F=21.08, p<.001). In regression of analysis, perceived health state, exercise frequency, and self-rated knowledge about health were significant predictors explaining 30.5%. Conclusion: This study suggests that perceived health state, exercise frequency, and self-rated knowledge about health are significantly influencing factors in Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile in women college students. Therefore, the strategies of nursing intervention which improve these variables must be developed for women college students.

Which aspects of health does self-perceived health as a index of general health reflect? Why do two individuals with the same level of general health have different health perceptions? Methods : The sampling frame comprised college or graduate school students, aged 20 to 29, who were members of A, one of the 4 biggest internet communication services. The questionnaires were sent to study samples(n=1,000) and answered by E-mail. Response rate was 37.0%. Results : Firstly, physical health ranked highest and self-perceived health ranked lowest. Secondly, health, anxiety, depression, and self-perceived health showed significant differences between the sexes, with women showing a higher health status in these categories except for self-perceived health. Thirdly, the two factors significantly related to self-perceived health were physical health and self-esteem, as determined by multivariate analysis, Conclusions : The factors significantly related to self-perceived health were physical health and self-esteem. Further studies of the health characteristics of young adults are needed.

  • Objectives : The purpose of the study was to provide the development of oral health promotion programs for the college students to improve oral health behavior. Methods : Subjects were 350 college students in Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do from March to June, 2011. Except 9 incomplete copies, 341 data were analyzed. Results : 1. The college students got a mean of 4.08 in oral health awareness, and 3.54 in oral health care. 2. The correlation coefficient of the two was 0.618. Higher oral health awareness led to oral health care improvement (p<0.001). 3. Oral health awareness made a 38.1% prediction of oral health care. A rise of one score in oral health awareness was concurrent with a rise of 0.532 score in oral health care. Conclusions : Higher oral health awareness led to oral health care improvement, and that those who received oral health education tended to have higher awareness and care for oral health care.
