VOCs의 위해성 평가를 위한 노출분석 방법 연구 (The Development of Exposure Assessment Tools for Risk Assessment of Volatile Organic Compounds)

  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are an important public health issue in Korea and many important questions remain to be addressed with respect to assessing exposure to these compounds. Because they are ubiquitous and highly volatile, special techniques must be applied in their analytic determination Valid Personal exposure assessment methods are needed to evaluate exposure frequency, duration and intensity, as well as their relationship to personal exposure characteristics. Biological monitoring is also important since it may contribute significantly in risk assessment by allowing the estimation of effective absorbed doses. This study was on ducted to establish the environmental measurement, personal dosimetry and biological monitoring methods for VOCs. These methods are needed to compare blood, urinary and exhalation breath VOC levels and to provide tools for risk assessment of VOC exposure. Passive monitors (badge type) and a active samplers (trap) for the VOCs collection were used for air sampling. Methods development included determining the minimum detectable amounts of VOCs in each media, as well as evaluating collection methods and developing analytical procedures. Method reliability was assessed by determining breakthrough volumes and comparing results between laboratories and with other methods. A total capacity of trap used in this study was 60ι. Although variable by compound, the average breakthrough was 20%. Also, there was no loss of compounds in trap even if keep for 45 day in -7$0^{\circ}C$. The recovery of active and passive methods was 69% ~ 126% and method detection limit was 0.24 $\mu\textrm{g}$/trap and 0.07 $\mu\textrm{g}$/badge. There was no statistical difference (P > 0.05) between active and passive methods.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the papers on nursing in the KJHSM (Korean Journal of Health Service Management) (2007-2018), to identify the research trends and to help the future development of nursing research. Methods: The data collection was carried out from September 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019. The 78 copies of the original text were provided by the KSHSM website, DBpia, and NDSL (National Digital Science Library) electronic database. Results: Forty-seven studies had a non-experimental design, with most having a descriptive research design (89.3%). The most common participants were nurses (55.7%) and nursing college students (26.1%). A questionnaire was the most commonly used research tools (96.2%) and data collection methods (95.0%). The major keywords were the terms included in the environmental domain among the meta-paradigms of nursing (43.6%). Conclusions: In order to expand the quantity and quality of nursing science in the KSHSM, efforts are needed to improve the quality of research participants, research tools, and sampling methods.

국내 하수처리시설에 인공지능기술 적용을 위한 사례 연구 (The Case Studies of Artificial Intelligence Technology for apply at The Sewage Treatment Plant)

  • In the recent years, various studies have presented stable and economic methods for increased regulations and compliance in sewage treatment plants. In some sewage treatment plants, the effluent concentration exceeded the regulations, or the effluent concentration was manipulated. This indicates that the process is currently inefficient to operate and control sewage treatment plants. The operation and control method of sewage treatment plant is mathematically dealing with a physical and chemical mechanism for the anticipated situation during operation. In addition, there are some limitations, such as situations that are different from the actual sewage treatment plant. Therefore, it is necessary to find a more stable and economical way to enhance the operational and control method. AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology is selected among various methods. There are very few cases of applying and utilizing AI technology in domestic sewage treatment plants. In addition, it failed to define specific definitions of applying AI technologies. The purpose of this study is to present the application of AI technology to domestic sewage treatment plants by comparing and analyzing various cases. This study presented the AI technology algorithm system, verification method, data collection, energy and operating costs as methods of applying AI technology.

조류생산잠재력조사 방법개발에 의한 육수환경의 부영양화 방지대책에 관한 연구(I) -순수분리종의 형태 및 증식특성- (A Study on Protection Plan of Eutrophication in Fresh Water Environment by Development of Methods for Algal Growth Potential test (I) -Morphology and Growth Characteristics of Isolated algae-)

  • The isolation, morphological study and growth characteristics of the algae were investigated from Lake Chuam. The isolated algae were applied the Agal Growth Potential test. The method of isolation and purification of the algae were used to Agar plating(AP), nutrient enrichment(NE), dilution(DI) and micro capillary technique(MC). Total isolated algae were 21 species. They were composed of Cyanophyceae, Dinophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Euglenophyceae and Chlorophyceae. The numbers of algal strain by isolation technique were highest in dilution(21 species), and those of the rests were showed in order of NE > MC > AP. The sizes of isolated Selenastrum and Scenedesmus were $1.8\pm 1.4 \mu m$, $3.3\pm 0.9 \mu m$ in diameter and $6.4\pm 2.3 \mu m$, $13.6\pm 1.9 \mu m$ in length respectively. The morphology of isolated algae and NIES-collection strain was very similar each other, but the size was smaller isolated algae than that of NIES-collection. The optimum culture condition of isolated Selenastrum and Scenedesmus was about 30$\circ$C(25$\circ$C-35$\circ$C) in temperature and the maximum growth was appeared between 7,000 lux and 8,000 lux in the light intensity. The comparison of $\mu$(specific growth rate) on the concentration of nutrients such as nitrate and phosphate, isolated Selenastrum was appeared maximum it at 1.0 mg $NO_3-N/l$ but NIES-collection strain was showed 95% of maximum it at same nitrate concentration. Maximum g of isolated algae and NIES-collection strain in Scenedesmus onto nitrate concentration were very similar with the result of selenastrum. The specific growth rates of isolated algae and NIES-collection strain on the gradient concentration of phosphate were showed 0.72/day and 0.70/day at 0.02 mg $PO_4-P/l$ in Selenastrum but those of Scenedesmus were appeared 0.61/day and 0.57/day at same concentration $PO_4-P$.

석면함유폐기물 취급근로자의 석면노출수준 평가 (Assessment of asbestos exposure level of workers handling waste containing asbestos)

  • Objectives: There have been many studies on exposure assessment of workers at companies using asbestos as a raw material and at sites of the removal of materials containing asbestos. However, no research has been carried out on the asbestos exposure of workers in industries involving asbestos-containing waste, such as workers at collection and transportation service companies, mid-treatment companies(solidification of asbestos-containing waste), and landfill sites. The objective of this study was to assess the asbestos exposure concentrations of workers in industries handling waste containing asbestos. Methods: For this study, we carried out field investigations at 15 companies: seven collection and transportation service companies, three mid-treatment companies, and five final treatment companies(landfill sites). We took both personal and area samples. Results: The range of asbestos exposure levels of workers handing asbestos-containing wastes at collection, mid-treatment, and landfill companies were 0.000 fibers/cc-0.009 fibers/cc, 0.000 fibers/cc-0.038 fibers/cc, and 0.000 fibers/cc-0.024 fibers/cc, respectively. Conclusions: The asbestos exposure levels of workers at mid-treatment companies were higher than those at collection and transportation companies and at final treatment companies. In the case of collection and transportation workers, the possibility of exposure to levels exceeding those found in the present study is not particularly high considering the characteristics of the work. However, in the case of intermediate or final disposal workers, it is considered that there is a possibility of exposure to levels above those found in this study.

고려인삼 열매채취시기에 따른 열매형질 및 진세노사이드 함량 변화 (Changes of Berry Characteristics and Ginsenoside Content Depending on Collection Time of Korean Ginseng Berry)

  • Background: This study was carried out to determine the best time for collecting ginseng berries without reducing the ginsenoside-Re content of ginseng roots, which are used as food, medicine, or cosmetic materials. Methods and Results: The test variety of ginseng used in this study was is Chunpung, which was collected from a 4-year-old ginseng field. Ginseng berries were collected at 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, and 56 days after flowering. The number of berry bunches per $1.62m^2$ ranged from 43.4 to 61.4, while the weight of berries per $1.62m^2$ was the greatest when they were collected 49 days after flowering. The root fresh weight per $1.62m^2$ was increased by 0.21 - 1.00 kg compared with that before the test, but root weight gain was decreased as the berry collection time was delayed. Total ginsenoside content of 4-year-old ginseng was the highest when berries were collected 7 days after flowering, while the ginsenoside-Re contents was the highest when collection was done 14 days after flowering. Conclusions: The most suitable period for ginseng berry collection was proposed to be from 14 to 21 days after flowering, as this is when the content of ginsenoside-Re, which is useful as a medicinal or cosmetic material, is still high and the ginseng root has not yet decreased in weight.

농업미생물은행(KACC)의 곰팡이 보존 (Maintenance of Filamentous Fungi in Korean Agricultural Culture Collection (KACC))

  • 농업미생물은행(KACC)에는 7,039균주의 곰팡이가 장기 보존되어 있다. 이 중에서 다수의 포자를 형성하는 4,065균주는 동결건조법으로 보존되어 있는데 사멸로 인한 균주의 소실을 막기 위하여 대부분은 액체질소보존법 그리고 모든 균주가 저온냉동고보존법으로 함께 보존되어 있다. 4,065균주의 곰팡이에는 주로 공기 중에 흔하며 산업적으로 이용성이 많은 Aspergillus, Penicillium, Lichtheimia, Mucor, Rhizopus 속 등이 포함된다. 포자를 형성하지 않거나 소수형성하거나 또한 보존이 어려운 너무 큰 포자를 형성하는 나머지 곰팡이는 동결건조보존법으로 보존이 불가하기 때문에 액체질소보존법, 저온냉동고보존법 그리고 광유보존법으로 균주를 보존한다. 여기에는 Phytophthora, Pythium, Cercospora, Septoria, Rhizoctonia 속 등의 식물병원균이 포함된다. 이 외에도 KACC에서 이용하는 다양한 곰팡이 보존법을 소개하고 이들의 상세보존 과정을 기술한다.

독립 운동 컬렉션 분류 체계 개발에 관한 연구 - 공훈전자사료관을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Development of an Independent Movement Collection Classification System: Focus on the Gonghun Digital Archive)

  • 본 연구는 국가보훈처의 '공훈전자사료관' 컬렉션을 기반으로 독립 운동 컬렉션에 대한 출처별, 주제별, 자료유형별 분류 체계를 제안하였다. 먼저 출처별 분류 체계는 계층별로 구성하였으며 출처별로 분류된 기록물들은 관련 주제어에 따라 2차 분류한 후, 17가지 자료유형별로 분류하였고 '출처-주제-자료유형'의 인용 순서로 기술하였다. 또한 주제어를 바탕으로 한 귀납적 방법을 이용하여 유의미한 컬렉션을 도출하였다. 이를 통해 공훈전자사료관 컬렉션을 출처별, 주제별, 자료유형별로 이용자가 기록물을 쉽게 찾을 수 있도록 분류하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 독립 운동 DB 자료의 기록물 검색을 지원하기 위한 분류 체계로서 이용자의 접근성을 높이고 독립 운동 기록물 서비스를 확장하는데 기초가 될 것이다.

패션 크리에이티브 디렉터 변화에 따른 디자인 연관 이슈 비교 - 구찌 컬렉션에 대한 소셜미디어 게시글 분석을 중심으로 - (Comparison of Design Related Issues with the Replacement of Fashion Creative Director - Focused on an Analysis of Social Media Posts on Gucci Collection -)

  • This study analyzes the online issues of design innovation by a fashion creative director. The study selected fashion house Gucci as the main subject and analyzed social media posts. As for study methods, a social matrix program Textom 2.0 collected 13,014 nouns and adjectives using 'Gucci Collection' as a search keyword from Naver Blogs from March to August 2014 and from March to August 2016. Design related issues were derived through semantic network analysis using Ucinet6 and the NetDraw program. The results of the keyword frequency analysis showed that social media user interest for the Gucci collection increased based on the rapid increase in the number of posts from 1,064 to 2,126 after changing the fashion creative director. The results of visualization of semantic network analysis and content analysis also showed that the main issues related to the Gucci collection design changed after the replacement of the fashion creative director. The study found that issues formed around the product information worn by celebrities for promotion purposes during the 2014 period; however, during the 2016 period, issues were formed around 'vintage' and 'retro' runway concepts with design styles related to Alessandro Michele, the new creative director.

Age of Data in Contemporary Research Articles Published in Representative General Radiology Journals

  • Objective: To analyze and compare the age of data in contemporary research articles published in representative general radiology journals. Materials and Methods: We searched for articles reporting original research studies analyzing patient data that were published in the print issues of the Korean Journal of Radiology (KJR), European Radiology (ER), and Radiology in 2017. Eligible articles were reviewed to extract data collection period (time from first patient recruitment to last patient follow-up) and age of data (time between data collection end and publication). The journals were compared in terms of the proportion of articles reporting the data collection period to the level of calendar month and regarding the age of data. Results: There were 50, 492, and 254 eligible articles in KJR, ER, and Radiology, respectively. Of these, 44 (88%; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 75.8-94.8%), 359 (73%; 95% CI: 68.9-76.7%), and 211 (83.1%; 95% CI: 78-87.2%) articles, respectively, provided enough details of data collection period, revealing a significant difference between ER and Radiology (p = 0.002). The age of data was significantly greater in KJR (median age: 826 days; range: 299-2843 days) than in ER (median age: 570 days; range: 56-4742 days; p < 0.001) and Radiology (median age: 618; range: 75-4271 days; p < 0.001). Conclusion: Korean Journal of Radiology did not fall behind ER or Radiology in reporting of data collection period, but showed a significantly greater age of data than ER and Radiology, suggesting that KJR should take measures to improve the timeliness of its data.
