Entrepreneurship development has increasingly become a global solution to address the problem of rising unemployment. Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) have become important tools in improving the economic performance and social well-being of nations. When universities and industry work together to push the boundaries of knowledge, they become a powerful engine for innovation and economic growth. This paper is based on focus group interviews and discussions conducted with key players involved in the HIT-Sandown-UNDP Business Incubation Programme in Harare Zimbabwe. The business incubation project sought to support young Zimbabweans to transform their technical prototypes into commercially and socially viable ventures. As a result, a total of 10 prototypes were refined and investor ready business plans were developed for capital sourcing purposes. It was only through the coming together of the partners that real transformation of the lives of the participants was achieved through learning valuable business skills, coaching and mentoring. University-industry partnerships are a useful vehicle of setting up sustainable business incubation centres.

The ability to recover the nearly limitless supply of uranium contained within the world's oceans would provide supply security to uranium based fuel cycles. Therefore, in addition to U.S. national laboratories conducting R&D on a system capable of harvesting seawater uranium, a number of collaborative university partners have developed alternative technologies to complement the national laboratory scheme. This works summarizes the systems analysis of such novel uranium recovery technologies along with their potential impacts on seawater uranium recovery. While implementation of some recent developments can reduce the cost of seawater uranium by up to 30%, other researchers have sought to address a weakness while maintaining cost competitiveness.

The formation of a supply chain should be approached with distributive viewpoint considering the dynamic nature of ordering environments. The purpose of this paper is to design a semantic web to support agent negotiation forming supply chains. With the view of a supply chain as composed of competitive agents which represent each member of supply chains with a local goal, a supply chain is formed through negotiation of price, due date choosing partners to contract. In the development of a negotiation method, we employ ontology and rules which are the basic techniques of the semantic web for supporting automated negotiations. Especially, a framework for a negotiation process is suggested and domain, processes and rules ontology are designed interrelatedly. With this modeling, a possibility of the semantic web based agent negotiation is suggested.

Several Web Service security standards are widely utilized aiming at securing exchanges of SOAP messages among partners in a collaborative environment. Although such standards are suitable for ensuring end-to-end message level security, certain attacks such as XML rewriting may still occur and lead to significant security vulnerabilities. This paper explores the security vulnerabilities of SOAP messages and proposes an ontology-based approach that can successfully combat the security threats. We develop ontology-based schema to include SOAP structure information in outgoing SOAP message and validate this information in the receiving end. Thus, allow to detect XML rewriting attacks early in the validating process.

Most important to financial institutions is to provide well designed and built services to the customers by accessing their core bank systems and affiliated systems in their partners. This will be essential to introduce new products and services and still be able to count on legacy and collaborative affiliated systems. Winning the war on such service competitions among financial institutions is attainable by seizing the "e-bank" opportunities in B2Bi and CRM (Customer Relationship Management). Such application integrations among systems and "e-bank" services need to be available in the new IT environment. In this article, an If and service architecture adopting unified e-business services platform is proposed. This architecture is able to achieve application integrations among legacy, affiliated, and e-business systems and services. We derive an architecture in unified e-business services platform by investigating current and future e-business services platforms involved in domestic and global international banks. Several financial interchange standards which are involved in B2B business of e-procurement, e-placement, e-payment are also investigated.

This paper deals with university - industry collaboration movement in China in recent years. By summarizing related development background in Government-Industry-University framework, the paper specifies Chinese pattern through analysis of technology transfer between universities and industries, collaborative R&D between universities and industries in practical fields, and university-run high-tech companies, especially through analysis of joint patenting between universities and their industrial partners in China. The research provides clear picture of Chinese universities' increased development with industrial entities in comprehensive and wider technology fields.

Nowadays. risk management in the enterprise is considered as the important activity. Risk management ran be defined as the activity which is the analysis of risk factors related to damages, the estimation of the magnitude of risk, and the determination of investment to protect damage in a company. Initially, risk management was originated in financial areas. But the concept of risk has been expanded in the enterprise. Most companies have extended their activities in various areas. In this tendency, most activities must be considered in supply chain So, risk management must be ronsidered as the concept in the viewpoint of supply chain. The framework of risk management in supply chain and the related mathematical model are represented in this paper. Risk management in supply chain ran provide a positive opportunity not only to protect various damages, but also to improve the relationship between partners.

In this paper, we investigate the inter-organizational information systems effect to supply chain partnerships, and subsequently to the performance. The conceptual model for the causal relationships among interorganizational systems usage, interaction, partnership, and supply chain performances has been developed. Theoretical framework is based on the partnership research in relationship marketing area, and the interaction model from IMP group. The questionnaires are designed to test the hypotheses of the conceptual model. The survey result supports our hypotheses that collaborative IT effects to increase the interaction between the firms, and interaction causes to enhance the partnership quality. Also, the level of partnership shows strong positive correlation with the supply chain performances. Despite the limitations of collected sample data size, our study reveals the fact that inter-organizational information systems contribute to supply chain performance through enhancing the interaction and partnership level between the supply chain partners. Our research result is distinct from the most extant literatures that investigated the firm's collaboration impact on interorganizational systems usage.

The magnetic field standards, facilities and capabilities available at NPL for the calibration of magnetometers and gradiometers and the measurement of the magnetic properties of materials will be introduced. The details of the low magnetic field facility will be explained and the capabilities this facility enables for the characterisation and calibration of ultra-sensitive room temperature magnetic sensors will be presented. Building on core material capabilities that are compliant with the IEC 60404 series of written standards, the example of a standard permeameter that has been modified for the measurement of strips for real world conditions is discussed. This was incorporated into a stress machine to measure the DC properties of the soft magnetic materials used by the partners of a collaborative industry led R&D project at stress levels of up to 700 MPa. The results for three materials are presented and the changes in the properties with applied stress compared to establish which material exhibits favourable properties.

급변하고 융·복합화되는 비즈니스 환경 속에서 기업의 생존과 지속적 성장을 위해 신제품 개발은 필수적이며, 신제품 개발 성과 향상을 위해서 기업이 내·외부 파트너와 협업하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 신제품 개발(부서간 협업, 공급자 협업) 및 협업 커뮤니케이션(형식성, 상호피드백)이 협업 성과와의 통합적인 관계를 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상은 신제품 개발 경험이 있는 1년 이상의 제조업 종사자를 대상으로 실시하였다. 272부의 표본자료를 사용하여 신뢰성, 타당성 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신제품개발 협업의 요인인 부서간 협업과 공급자 협업은 각각 형식성에 통계적으로 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째 형식성은 상호피드백에 통계적으로 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째 형식성은 협업 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째 상호피드백은 협업 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 성공적인 신제품 개발을 위해 제조기업은 효율적인 경영전략을 세우고, 공급자간 상호 협업관계를 기반으로 기업의 생산성과 효율을 극대화할 수 있도록 공식적이고 상호 호혜적으로 의사소통하는 것이 중요하다. 이를 위해 기업은 내외부 파트너의 요구에 민첩하게 대응하기 위해 효과적인 의사소통 전략을 계획할 필요가 있음을 의미한다.
