  • Kimchi, a centuries-old Korean fermented food, has gained global popularity due to increased interest in Korean cuisine. However, little is known about the actual status of kimchi information provided by major foreign online encyclopedias. In this study, we analyzed the content and quality of kimchi information in major foreign online encyclopedias, such as Baidu Baike, Encyclopædia Britannica, Citizendium, and Wikipedia. Our results revealed that the kimchi information provided by these encyclopedias was often inaccurate or inadequate, despite kimchi being a fundamental part of Korean cuisine. The most common inaccuracies were related to the definition and origins of kimchi and its ingredients and preparation methods. Our findings highlight the need for more accurate and reliable information about kimchi in major foreign online encyclopedias. This is particularly important in the context of promoting Korean food culture and increasing international awareness of kimchi. To achieve this, the collaborative efforts of Korean food experts and online encyclopedias are needed to ensure the accurate representation of kimchi in these resources. In conclusion, our study shows that foreign online encyclopedias often contain incomplete, inaccurate information about kimchi. This shortcoming must be addressed to promote a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of kimchi and Korean cuisine.

  • Software reuse the concept of developing software by using existing software assets, rather than developing it from scratch. Developers may face difficulties of reusing existing software assets because existing assets are normally developed by other developers for different purposes. Developers tend to seek appropriate knowledge about effectively reusing software assets from the developers who have faced and solved similar problems in reusing software assets previously. In other words, the reuse-related knowledge of domain experts or other developers usually provides important clues to solve reuse-related problems. Such reuse-relalted knowledge can help developers to reduce the time and effort to identify and solve the difficulties and problems that may arise in reusing software assets and in minimizing the risks of reusing them by allowing them to reuse reliable software assets in an appropriate way and by recognizing similar requirements or constraints of resuing the assets. In this paper, we describe a model to represent reuse-related knowledge in a formal way, and explain the architecture and a prototype implementation of Software Reuse Wiki (SRW) that enables collaborative organization and sharing of software reuse-related knowledge. We have conducted an experiment pertaining to problem solving in reusing assets based on reuse-related knowledge. We also discuss about our evaluation plan for showing the benefits and contributions of reuse knowledge representation model and management methods in SRW. We expect that SRW can contribute to facilitate users' participations and make efficient sharing and growing of reuse-related knowledge. In addition, the representation model of reuse-related knowledge and management methods can make developers acquire more reliable and useful reuse-related knowledge in a straightforward manner without spending additional efforts to find solutions to solve reuse-related problems.

  • Recently, the recommender system has been widely used in various fields such as movies, music, online shopping, and social media, and in the meantime, the recommender model has been developed from correlation analysis through the Apriori model, which can be said to be the first-generation model in the recommender system field. In 2005, many models have been proposed, including deep learning-based models, which are receiving a lot of attention within the recommender model. The recommender model can be classified into a collaborative filtering method, a content-based method, and a hybrid method that uses these two methods integrally. However, these basic methods are gradually losing their status as methodologies in the field as they fail to adapt to internal and external changing factors such as the rapidly changing user-item interaction and the development of big data. On the other hand, the importance of deep learning methodologies in recommender systems is increasing because of its advantages such as nonlinear transformation, representation learning, sequence modeling, and flexibility. In this paper, among deep learning methodologies, RNN, CNN, and GAN-based models suitable for sequential modeling that can accurately and flexibly analyze user-item interactions are classified, compared, and analyzed.

  • The objective of this study is the evaluation of the performance of a large-scale respirometer (LSR) of 17.7 L in the determination of the methane generation rate constant (k) values. To achieve this objective, a comparison between anaerobic (GB21) and LSR tests was conducted. The data were modeled using a linear function, and the resulting correlation coefficient ($R^2$) of the linear regression is 0.91. This result shows that despite the aerobic conditions, the biodegradability values that were obtained from the LSR test produced results that are similar to those from the GB21 test. In this respect, the LSR test can be an indicator of the anaerobic biodegradability for landfill waste. In addition, the results show the high repeatability of the tests with an average coefficient of variance (CV) that is lower than 10%; furthermore, the CV for the LSR is lower than that of the GB21, which indicates that the LSR-test method could provide a better representation of waste samples. Therefore, the LSR method allows for both the prediction of the long-term biodegradation potential in a shorter length of time and the reduction of the sampling errors that are caused by the heterogeneity of waste samples. The k values are $0.156y^{-1}$ and $0.127y^{-1}$ for the cumulative biogas production (GB21) and the cumulative oxygen uptake for the LSR, respectively.

  • Educators have recognized the usefulness of the e-BBS(electronic-Bulletin Board System) as an asynchronous communication medium for collaborative learning. However, theoretical outcomes to understand the structural analysis of thc e-BBS are not adequate enough. As a consequence, we are left with inadequate supportive tools to understand complex communication phenomena and to assist teachers to guide students to educational purposes. This can cause teachers to have a laissez-faire approach using BBS as a communication medium for education due to the lack of understanding the structural and overall situation. To address this issue, this paper presents a theoretical foundation to help understand the structure of discussion activities via the e-BBS and then presents a computational model, based on the structural analysis, for the behavioral analysis of participants. The formal representation of bi-directional discussion activities is realized by devising two graphs - the reply graph and the connection graph. Various measurements and statistics for the analysis are presented in the paper. To clarify the analysis, we classify the results produced through the analysis of discussion activities and participants' behaviors.

  • Ontology-based approaches for automated information integration are being widely investigated. The existing approaches explicitly represent the semantics of information sources in ontologies and let the computer system, through aligning or merging the source ontologies, provide a global view of information sources. The problem of aligning or merging different ontologies is a well known problem, and the inter-ontology mappings play an essential role in information integration. To enable simple and well-founded mappings , the ontologies of information sources should be modeled with the same world view and with the same manner of representation. This paper introduces an ontology modeling framework for component libraries, which is developed based on the Guarino's theory of upper ontology . This paper discusses the results of modeling ontologies of mold and die component libraries based on the framework. A Web-based implementation automatically merges the source ontologies.

  • Content used in mashups is typically obtained from a third party source through a public interface or API (web services). Other methods of obtaining content for mashups include Web feeds (e.g. RSS or Atom), and screen scraping. A mashup or meshup Web application has two parts: A new service delivered through a Web page, using its own data and data from other sources. The blended data, made available across the Web through an API or other protocols such as HlTP, RSS, REST, etc. There are many types of mashups, such as consumer mashups, data mashups, and Business Mashups. The most common mashup is the consumer mashup, which are aimed at the general public. Examples include Google Maps, iGuide, and RadioClouds. 4D Wall-map display is data mashups combine similar types of media and information from multiple sources into a single representation. This technology focus data into a single presentation and allow for collaborative action among ITS-related information sources.

  • In this paper, we propose pyramid appearance and global structure action descriptors on both RGB and depth motion history images and a model-free method for human action recognition. In proposed algorithm, we firstly construct motion history image for both RGB and depth channels, at the same time, depth information is employed to filter RGB information, after that, different action descriptors are extracted from depth and RGB MHIs to represent these actions, and then multimodality information collaborative representation and recognition model, in which multi-modality information are put into object function naturally, and information fusion and action recognition also be done together, is proposed to classify human actions. To demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method, we evaluate it on MSR Action3D and DHA datasets, the well-known dataset for human action recognition. Large scale experiment shows our descriptors are robust, stable and efficient, when comparing with the-state-of-the-art algorithms, the performances of our descriptors are better than that of them, further, the performance of combined descriptors is much better than just using sole descriptor. What is more, our proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on both MSR Action3D and DHA datasets.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze inquiry tasks of textbooks in middle schools social studies under the information literacy process and find out teacher librarians' educational information service on the side of information literacy education. Results of the analysis show that middle school students who carry out the inquiry tasks of social studies should select sources, seek its' related information and create their products through writing reports or presentation. Compared with information literacy process of the "Library and Information Skills", the First step of task definition and figuring out information needs and the Third step of representation of information are being implemented. For this reason, teacher librarian could reduce social studies teachers' burden of class and promote students' inquiry activities by teaching skills of suitable materials seeking strategies for solving their task, understanding and synthesizing the information and evaluating their process and result. Therefore, it is necessary to activate collaborative teaching between the teacher librarian and the social studies teacher based on the information literacy.
