  • Privacy-preserving collaborative filtering schemes take privacy concerns into its primary consideration without neglecting the prediction accuracy. Different schemes are proposed that are built upon different data partitioning scenarios such as a central server, two-, multi-party or peer-to-peer network. These data partitioning scenarios have been investigated in terms of claimed privacy promises, recently. However, to the best of our knowledge, any peer-to-peer privacy-preserving scheme lacks such study that scrutinizes privacy promises. In this paper, we apply three different attack techniques by utilizing auxiliary information to derive private ratings of peers and conduct experiments by varying privacy protection parameters to evaluate to what extent peers' data can be reconstructed.

  • Routing protocol using in the existing wire network cannot be used as it is for efficient data transmission in MANET. Because it consists of only mobile nodes, network topology is changing dynamically. Therefore, each mobile node must perform router functions. Variety of routing attack like DoS in MANET is present owing to these characteristic. In this paper, we proposed cooperative-based detection method to improve detection performance of flooding attack which paralyzes network by consuming resource. Accurate attack detection is done as per calculated adaptively threshold value considered the amount of all network traffic and the number of nodes. All the mobile nodes used a table called NHT to perform collaborative detection and apply cluster structure to the center surveillance of traffic.

  • Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) have become one of the active areas of research, standardization, and development because they have tremendous potentials to improve vehicle and road safety, traffic efficiency, and convenience as well as comfort to both drivers and passengers. However, message trustfulness is a challenge because the propagation of false message by malicious vehicles induces unreliable and ineffectiveness of VANETs, Therefore, we need a reliable reputation method to ensure message trustfulness. In this paper, we consider a vulnerability against the Sybil attack of the previous reputation systems based on blockchain and suggest a new reputation system which resists against Sybil attack on the previous system. We propose an initial authentication process as a countermeasure against a Sybil attack and provide a reliable reputation with a cooperative message delivery to cope with message omission. In addition, we use Homomorphic Commitment to protect the privacy breaches in VANETs environment.

  • Collaborative filtering, one of the most successful technologies among recommender systems, is a system assisting users in easily finding the useful information and supporting the decision making. However, despite of its success and popularity, one notable issue is incredibility of recommendations by unreliable users called shilling attacks. To deal with this problem, in this paper, we analyze the type of shilling attacks and propose a unique method of building a model for protecting the recommender system against manipulated ratings. In addition, we present a method of applying the model to collaborative filtering which is highly robust and stable to shilling attacks.

  • In this paper a three-phase secure compressive sensing (CS) and received signal strength (RSS) based target localization approach is proposed to mitigate the effect of malicious node attack. RSS measurements are first arranged into a group of subsets where the same measurement can be included in multiple subsets. Intermediate target position estimates are then produced using individual subsets of RSS measurements and the CS technique. From the intermediate position estimates, the residual error vector and residual error square vector are formed. The least median of residual error square is utilized to define a verifier parameter. The selected residual error vector is utilized along with a threshold to determine whether a node or measurement is under attack. The final target positions are estimated by using only the attack-free measurements and the CS technique. Further, theoretical analysis is performed for parameter selection and computational complexity evaluation. Extensive simulation studies are carried out to demonstrate the advantage of the proposed CS-based secure localization approach over the existing algorithms.

  • Most of the existing Distributed Denial-of-Service mitigation schemes in Software-Defined Networking are only implemented in the network domain managed by a single controller. In fact, the zombies for attackers to launch large-scale DDoS attacks are actually not in the same network domain. Therefore, abnormal traffic of DDoS attack will affect multiple paths and network domains. A single defense method is difficult to deal with large-scale DDoS attacks. The cooperative defense of multiple domains becomes an important means to effectively solve cross-domain DDoS attacks. We propose an efficient multi-domain DDoS cooperative defense mechanism by integrating blockchain and SDN architecture. It includes attack traceability, inter-domain information sharing and attack mitigation. In order to reduce the length of the marking path and shorten the traceability time, we propose an AS-level packet traceability method called ASPM. We propose an information sharing method across multiple domains based on blockchain and smart contract. It effectively solves the impact of DDoS illegal traffic on multiple domains. According to the traceability results, we designed a DDoS attack mitigation method by replacing the ACL list with the IP address black/gray list. The experimental results show that our ASPM traceability method requires less data packets, high traceability precision and low overhead. And blockchain-based inter-domain sharing scheme has low cost, high scalability and high security. Attack mitigation measures can prevent illegal data flow in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Recently, cyber attacks against public communications networks are getting more complicated and varied. Moreover, in some cases, one country could make systematic attacks at a national level against another country to steal its confidential information and intellectual property. Therefore, the issue of cyber attacks is now regarded as a new major threat to national security. The conventional way of operating individual information security systems such as IDS and IPS may not be sufficient to cope with those attacks committed by highly-motivated attackers with significant resources. In this paper, we discuss the technologies and standard trends about actual cyber threat and response methods, design the collaborative response framework based on the security information sharing in the inter-domain environments. The computation method of network threat level based on the collaborative response framework is proposed. The network threats are be quickly detected and real-time response can be executed using the proposed computation method.

  • Cognitive radio (CR) technology is an effective solution to the spectrum scarcity issue. Collaborative spectrum sensing is known as a promising technique to improve the performance of spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). However, collaborative spectrum sensing is vulnerable to spectrum data falsification (SSDF) attack, where malicious users (MUs) may send false sensing data to mislead other secondary users (SUs) to make an incorrect decision about primary user (PUs) activity, which is one of the key adversaries to the performance of CRNs. In this paper, we propose a coalition based malicious users detection (CMD) algorithm to detect the malicious user in CRNs. The proposed CMD algorithm can efficiently detect MUs base on the Geary'C theory and be modeled as a coalition formation game. Specifically, SSDF attack is one of the key issues to affect the resource allocation process. Focusing on the security issues, in this paper, we analyze the power allocation problem with MUs, and propose MUs detection based power allocation (MPA) algorithm. The MPA algorithm is divided into two steps: the MUs detection step and the optimal power allocation step. Firstly, in the MUs detection step, by the CMD algorithm we can obtain the MUs detection probability and the energy consumption of MUs detection. Secondly, in the optimal power allocation step, we use the Lagrange dual decomposition method to obtain the optimal transmission power of each SU and achieve the maximum utility of the whole CRN. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed CMD and MPA scheme can achieve a considerable performance improvement in MUs detection and power allocation.

  • Recommender systems enable a user to decide which information is interesting and valuable in our world of information overload. As the recent studies of distributed computing environment have been progressing actively, recommender systems, most of which were centralized, have changed toward a peer-to-peer approach. Collaborative Filtering (CF), one of the most successful technologies in recommender systems, presents several limitations, namely sparsity, scalability, cold start, and the shilling problem, in spite of its popularity. The move from centralized systems to distributed approaches can partially improve the issues; distrust of recommendation and abuses of personal information. However, distributed systems can be vulnerable to attackers, who may inject biased profiles to force systems to adapt their objectives. In this paper, we consider both effective CF in P2P environment in order to improve overall performance of system and efficient solution of the problems related to abuses of personal data and attacks of malicious users. To deal with these issues, we propose a multi-agent framework for a distributed CF focusing on the trust relationships between individuals, i.e. web of trust. We employ an agent-based approach to improve the efficiency of distributed computing and propagate trust information among users with effect. The experimental evaluation shows that the proposed method brings significant improvement in terms of the distributed computing of similarity model building and the robustness of system against malicious attacks. Finally, we are planning to study trust propagation mechanisms by taking trust decay problem into consideration.

  • Attacking of computer and network is increasing as information processing technology heavily depends on computer and network. To prevent the attack of system and network, host and network based intrusion detection system has developed. But previous rule based system has a lot of difficulties. For this reason demand for developing a intrusion detection system which detects and cope with the attack of system and network resource in real time. In this paper we develop a real time intrusion detection system which is combination of APEX and LS-SVM classifier. Proposed system is for nonlinear data and guarantees convergence. While real time processing system has its advantages, such as memory efficiency and allowing a new training data, it also has its disadvantages of inaccuracy compared to batch way. Therefore proposed real time intrusion detection system shows similar performance in accuracy compared to batch way intrusion detection system, it can be deployed on a commercial scale.
