냉매분사식 팽창장치를 적용한 냉동기의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of the Refrigerator Using a Refrigerant Injection Type Expansion Device)

  • Refrigerating ability of vapor compression refrigerator is decided by the harmonic work of it's components such as compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion device, and so on. In this study, choosing refrigerant injectors as a new one of expansion device, temperature change of the cold room, ice freezing ability, and power consumption on flowrate of injector and refrigerant charging condition are evaluated experimentally. As the results of this study, it is verified that the spray injection type refrigeration system has some merits according to the flowrate and spray pattern of injector and charging quantum of refrigerant. And there are some design factors such as spray pattern and shape of spray chamber to utilize and fabricate this refrigerant injection type refrigerator.

  • Deep sea water has cold temperature, abundant nutrients and minerals, and good water quality that is pathogen-free and stable. Compared with surface water, deep sea water contains more nutrition salt, such as nitrogen and phosphor. Moreover, if has the good balance of minerals. Because of the ability of the spray drying process to produce a free-flowing power considering of spherical particles with a well-defined size distribution and the rapid drying times for heat-sensitive material, spray drying is attractive for a wide range of applications spray drying is a unique unit operation in which powders are produced from a liquid feed in a single processing step. Key component of the process are atomizer, spray chamber. Design of spray chamber should be based on the atomizer type, the production rate, and the particle size required. Because of the complex processes taking place during spray drying, traditional design method are based on pilot-plant tests and empirical scale-up rules. Modern technique such as CFD have a role to play in design and troubleshooting.

  • The environmental problems by using coolant demanded the new cooling methods. As one of them, the studies on the finding with compressed cold air and oil mist have been done. The cooling method using compressed cold air was effective through going down the temperature of compressed air supplied below $-25^{\circ}$ and increasing the amount of compressed cold air, but had not enough cooling effect due to the low performance of lubrication. Therefore, the cooling methods using oil mist newly were suggested. This method can satisfy both cooling effect and lubrication with only small amount of coolant, also have the benefit in the point of decreasing the environmental pollution. This paper focused on analyzing the grinding characteristics of the cooling method using oil mist. The grinding test according to compressed cold air, oil mist spray pressure and oil mist supply direction were done.

  • 기체메탄/액체산소를 추진제로 이용한 동축인젝터를 설계하였으며, 전단(기체)/전단(액체)형 인젝터와 전단(기체)/스월(액체)형 인젝터 두 가지로 제작하였다. 수류시험을 통해 두 가지 인젝터의 미립화와 분무특성을 알아보았다. 전단/전단형 인젝터는 물줄기 형태로 분무되고, 전단/스월형 인젝터는 hollow cone형태로 분무되었다. 전단/전단형 인젝터보다 전단/스월형 인젝터의 미립화 성능이 우수하였다.

  • 고성능의 다단연소 사이클 액체로켓 엔진에 사용되는 Gas-centered swirl coaxial injector(GCSCI)의 분무특성에 대한 연구가 상압수류시험을 통해 이루어졌다. 시험은 물과 질소를 사용하였고, 고속카메라를 이용하여 분무형상을 측정하였고 이미지 프로세싱으로 데이터 처리에 활용하였다. 본 연구에서는 분사기의 리세스 길이와 액체노즐과 기체노즐의 간격과 같은 형상에 따른 영향과 기체와 액체의 운동량비에 따른 분무특성을 알아보았다.

액체-기체 와류동축형 분사기의 자기-맥동에 대한 기체 밀도의 영향 (Effect of Gas Density on Self-Pulsation in Liquid-Gas Swirl Coaxial Injector)

  • When a recess is applied to a swirl coaxial injector that uses liquid and gas propellants, a self-pulsation phenomenon in which the spray oscillates at regular intervals may occur. The phenomenon is caused by the interaction between the liquid and gas propellants inside the injector recess region. The propellants' kinetic energies are expected to affect significantly the spray oscillation. Therefore, cold-flow tests using helium as a gas-simulating propellant were conducted and compared with the results of the previous study using air. Dynamic pressure was measured in the injector manifold and frequency characteristics were investigated through the fast Fourier transform analysis. In the experimental environment, the helium density was about seven times lower than the air density. Accordingly, the intensity of pressure fluctuations was confirmed to be greater when air was used. At the same kinetic energy condition, the perturbation frequency was almost identical in the low flow rate conditions. However, as the flow rate increased, the self-pulsation frequency was higher when helium was used.

  • Large Eddy Simulation(LES) of turbulent spray combustion flow was conducted. An experimental database for the laboratory spray combustor is chosen to validate the present numerical simulation. The governing equations for the gas phases are discretized in three-dimensional curvilinear boundary-fitted coordinate system, and the fuel droplet motion equations are described in Lagrangian representation. The numerical results are compared with the experiment for the gas-phase mean velocities and its fluctuation in cold flow condition. Three dimensional vortical structures are well visualized and droplet motion is well predicted.

Improvement of color for iron oxide from waste pickling acid

  • In this study, to improve the color of iron oxide from waste pickling acid at the cold rolling mill, quality control technologies to improve color were investigated. During operation of the spray roaster, the charge amount of waste acid per hour, temperature, and numbers of spray nozzles were investigated. At the admixing process, titanium oxide, silica, and goethite were tested. The color character of iron oxide can be improved by process control of the spray roaster and the admixing process at a pigment factory. Iron oxide from this study is appropriate for use as a colorant of a concrete product.

유/무기 하이브리드 코팅액에 의한 냉간압연강판의 열처리 온도에 따른 내식특성 (Corrosion Resistance of Cold Rolled Steel coated Organic/inorganic Hybrid Coating Solution According to Heat Treatment Temperature)

  • The demand for cold rolled steel (CR) for structural members is gradually increasing. If no surface treatment (coating for corrosion resistance) for CR is conducted, its use is very limited because CR is vulnerable to corrosion. Therefore, we need to develop a coating solution to provide high corrosion resistance for CR. In this study, an organic/inorganic coating solution with Si and Ti (Si polysilicate 7 wt.% + Urethane 13 wt.% + Ti amorphous 0.5 wt.%; LR-0727(1)) was used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of CR under a salt spray test. The specimens with the LR-0727(1) coating were heat treated in a drying oven at $120{\sim}210^{\circ}C$for 5 min. The corrosion resistance was investigated using a salt spray test of 7 h. In addition, an adhesive test was conducted. Rust showed under a heat treatment of $150^{\circ}C$, but no vestiges were found over $160^{\circ}C$. The specimens with heat treatment at $160^{\circ}C$ or more did not experience delamination. From these results, it is considered that the temperature limit for optimum heat treatment is $160^{\circ}C$ considering energy efficiency.
