An Implementation of Embedded Linux System for Embossed Digit Recognition using CNN based Deep Learning (CNN 기반 딥러닝을 이용한 임베디드 리눅스 양각 문자 인식 시스템 구현)

  • Over the past several years, deep learning has been widely used for feature extraction in image and video for various applications such as object classification and facial recognition. This paper introduces an implantation of embedded Linux system for embossed digits recognition using CNN based deep learning methods. For this purpose, we implemented a coin recognition system based on deep learning with the Keras open source library on Raspberry PI. The performance evaluation has been made with the success rate of coin classification using the images captured with ultra-wide angle camera on Raspberry PI. The simulation result shows 98% of the success rate on average.

  • We analyzed security threats and suggested countermeasures about the block chain technologies which has emerged as a core technology of the fourth industrial revolution. We know that increasing the security leads to slow down program processing rate in the block chain systems. The block chain system which is currently an early stage of technological development, to become an economic and social infrastructure, development of technology and active policy implementation will be necessary. We studied on the security threats and countermeasures of the Bit Coin based on block chain. Further research should be undertaken on the possibility that future studies could have a real adverse effect on the integrity of the data.

  • The purpose of this study was to improve the conductivity of $Li_3V_2(PO_4){_3}$ by adding carbon source so that the discharge rate and cyclic properties were improved. Glucose and CNT were added to $Li_3V_2(PO_4){_3}$ and the structure and electrochemical properties were studied. $Li_3V_2(PO_4){_3}$, $Li_3V_2(PO_4){_3}$/C and $Li_3V_2(PO_4){_3}$/CNT were synthesised by solid state reaction using hydrogen reduction method at 600, 700, 800, $900^{\circ}C$. The cathode materials were assembled to coin cell type 2032 with Lithium metal as a counter electrode. The coin cell was galvanostatically evaluated in the voltage range of 3.0~4.8 V.

  • Solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) is an electrochemical energy conversion system with high efficiency and low-emission of pollution. In order to reduce the operating temperature of SOFC system under $800^{\circ}C$, the thickness reduction of YSZ electrolyte to be as thin as possible, e.g., less than 10 ${\mu}m$ are considered with the microstructure control and optimum design of unit cell. Methods for reducing the thickness of YSZ electrolyte have been investigated in coin cell. Moreover, a large unit cell($8cm{\times}8cm$) for SOFC was fabricated using an anode-supported electrolyte assembly with a thinner electrolyte layer, which was prepared by a tape casting method with a co-sintering technique. we studied the design factors such as active layer, electrolyte thickness, cathode composition, etc,. by the coin type of unit cell ahead of the fabrication process of a large unit cell and also reviewed about the evaluation technique of a large size unit cell such as interconnect design, sealing materials and current collector and so forth. Electrochemical evaluations of the unit cells, including measurements such as power density and impedance, were performed and analyzed. Maximum power density and polarization impedance of coin cell were 0.34W/$cm^2$ and $0.45{\Omega}cm^2$ at $800^{\circ}C$, respectively. However, Maxium power density of a large unit cell($5cm{\times}5cm$) decreased to 0.21W/$cm^2$ at $800^{\circ}C$ due to the increase of ohmic resistance. However, It was found that the potential value of a large unit cell loaded by 0.22A/$cm^2$ showed 0.76V at 100hrs without the degradation of unit cell.

Sleeping Beauty: a Garberian Approach (잠자는 미녀 문제에 대한 가버식 해결책)

  • In my previous paper (2009), I defended a solution of the Sleeping Beauty problem, according to which, on Monday, Sleeping Beauty assigns a lower credence to the coin's landing heads than 1/2. This conclusion was largely favorable to the Thirder view. However, even if my defense of the Thirder view was successful, it left one important question to be unanswered: Where did the Halfers go wrong? Their main argument was simple: Because Sleeping Beauty does not receive new and relevant evidence about how the coin lands, her credence in its landing heads should remain to be the same. But note that, if the Thirder view was right and Sleeping Beauty receives no new and relevant evidence, then this becomes a special case of the so-called old evidence problem (Glymour, 1980). In this paper, I will explain why it is rational for Sleeping Beauty to change her credence despite the lack of new evidence about the coin's landing heads. For this explanation, I will use Garber's well-known solution to the old evidence problem.

  • We present a systematic way to armor a zero-knowledge interactive proof based identification scheme that has badly chosen keys. Keys are sometimes mistakenly chosen to be weak(neither random nor long), and a weak key is often preferred to a strong key so that it might be easy for human to remember. Weak keys severely degrade the security of ZKIP based identification schemes. We show using off-line guessing attack how the weak key threats the security of ZlKIP based identification schemes. For the proper usage of ZKIP, we introduce a specialized form of ZKIP, which has a secret coin-tossing stage. Using the secret coin tossing, a secure framework is proposed for ZKIP based identification schemes with weak key in the ideal cipher model. The framework is very useful in password based authentication and key exchange protocol

An Augmented Reality-Based Digital App as an Educational Tool for Foreign Language Learning and the Evaluation of Its Learning Effect: Towards an Examination of Learning Motivation, Learning Satisfaction, and Learning Engagement (증강현실(Augmented Reality) 기술 기반의 글자교구재 디지털 앱 개발 사례와 교육효과 평가: 학습동기, 학습만족도, 학습몰입도를 중심으로)

  • The present work aimed to present the development of 'Funt', the augmented reality-based digital app as an educational tool for foreign language learning. Our work further evaluated the learning efficacy of the tool by the assessment of the three dependent measures including learning motivation, learning satisfaction, and learning involvement. With a learning app of 'Funt', students can use AR app to access recognition-based or location-based experiences such that any objects, artifacts, or media appear to be in the app. Students are then able to interact with the digital content by manipulating it to learn more about it. Students's engagement should also increase when they create their own experience in AR to demonstrate their understanding of a particular concept or words. Learning effects were evaluated on survey data collected from a hundred respondents aging six to nine years. One-group design for pre-test and post-test was utilized to examine the differences of learning efficacy by comparing the non-'Funt' group and the Funt group scores. A pairwise t-Test was performed for pairwise comparisons between two learning groups. The results indicate that the 'Funt' group scored significantly higher than the non-'Funt' group in the measures of learning motivation, learning satisfaction, and learning involvement. Overall, our results suggest that 'Funt' attracted the students' attention, provided them with a fun context to learn English vocabulary, and develop positive motivation and satisfaction towards vocabulary learning through AR technology.
