  • A moving-coil-type linear oscillatory actuator(LOA) consists of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular structure. The LOA system was represented by the voltage equation of coil and the mechanical equation of motion. This set of equations was manipulated in state-space form. The EMF constant kE of equation parameters in state-space form can be obtained by using the induced voltage in armature coils at open circuit test. kE and other parameters provide the system matrices and transfer function for frequency response and dynamic simulation. Voltage source inverter-fed LOA is examined aiming to compare with results of simulation.

  • High temperature superconductors can only be applied against an engineering specification that has to be determined for each particular application form the design requirements for economic viability and for operation margins in service. However, in order to realize the HTS transformer, it is necessary to establish the high voltage insulation technique in cryogenic temperature. Therefore, the composite insulation of double pancake coil type transformer are described and ac breakdown voltage characteristics of liquid nitrogen($LN_{2}$) under HITS pancake coil electrode made by Bi-2223/Ag are studied. Breakdown in $LN_{2}$ is dominated electrode shape and distance. And we investigated AC breakdown properties of $LN_{2}$ and complex conition of cryogenic gaseous nitrogen($CGN_{2}$) obove a $LN_{2}$ surface. Also, the surface voltage of GFRP was measured as a function of thickness and electrode distance in $LN_{2}$ and complex condition of $CGN_{2}$ above a $LN_{2}$ surface. This research presented information of electrical insulation design for double pancake coil type HTS transformer.

무선전력전송의 송전 공진코일에서 발생하는 방전현상 연구 (Study on Discharge Phenomenon Occurring in Transmitting Resonance Coil of Wireless Power Transmission)

  • 본 논문에서는 4-코일 방식의 자기공진 무선전력전송 시스템을 구현하는 데 있어서, 송전 공진코일의 끝단에서 발생하는 선간 방전현상을 연구하였다. 자기공진 무선전력전송은 급전코일, 송전 공진코일, 수전 공진코일, 부하코일로 구성되어 있다. 여기서 송전 공진코일은 급전코일에서 발생한 자기장을 증폭하여 전방의 수전 공진코일로 전달하는 역할을 한다. 큰 전력을 전송하기 위하여 급전코일에 높은 전류를 흘려주면 송전 공진코일 끝단에 높은 전압이 유기되어 선간 방전현상이 일어나게 된다. 선간 방전현상은 송전기 케이스를 손상시키게 되고, 송전기를 사용할 수 없는 상태로 만든다. 따라서 이러한 선간 방전현상을 제거하기 위하여, 선간 방전을 일으키는 송전 공진코일에 유기되는 전압을 분석하고, 해결 방안을 제시하였다.

  • PT of epoxy mold type have tendency to occur dielectric breakdown in high voltage system. These are using for measurement of voltage or protection of system and application voltage is 25.8kV. Therefore, for improving a lots of problems like as partial discharge, we had analyze on the destroyed Epoxy molded type PT and processing of production. As a results, we concluded that the reason of dielectric breakdown was defect of processing and degradation of insulation by electrical stress. In this work, We presented a method of solution in processing of production. which is reduction of the PO which was occurred at the insulation material. so we must many try to remove faults, these problems are mainly to winding methods of 1st coil. the other side, Reformation of 1st coil improved property of PD and we could prove it with experiments.

난류가열 쎄타핀치의 고전압 펄스 발생에 관한 연구 (Study on the High Voltage Pulse Profile Characteristics of a Turbulently Heated Theta Pinch)

  • The fast-rising high-voltage pulse generation circuit system of a theta pinch is both theoretically and experimentally investigated. The idealized model of this circuit system is a hybrid circuit system composed of three parts: a lumped circuit part being consisted of a capacitor bank and a spark switch connected in series, another lumped circuit part being consisted of the Blumlein transmission line, whose end load is the pinch coil. the voltage difference between two ends of the pinch coil is formulated by analyzing this hybrid circuit system by means of the law of the signal propagation in the transmission line and Kirchhoff's laws. The expedient numerical method for computer calculation is developed to generate the pulse profile of the voltage difference across the pinch coil. The period of the experimentally measured main pulse is a fourth of the theoretical one neglecting the resistance of the pinch coil. We attribute this discrepancy to the modelling in the theoretical calculation that hte resistance and inductance of the spark switch and capacitor bank are assumed to be constant through discharge. Therefore, we can see that the rise time of the imploding magnetic-field pulse is mainly dependent on the spark switch and capacitor bank.

Analysis on the Switching Surge Characteristics of a High-Voltage Induction Motor Fed by PWM Inverter Using EMTP

  • The PWM inverter drive may cause an over voltage at the motor terminal, which imposes severe electric stresses on the inter-turn insulation of motor windings. Unlike low-voltage induction motors, high-voltage induction motors have a stator type of form-wound coil for insulation and are insulated to the slot and the coil. So, this paper presents a PWM 3-level inverter, H-Bridge cascaded 7-level inverter and High-voltage induction motor model. It then analyzes the voltage that generates at the input terminal of the high-voltage induction motor fed by each inverter. Also, in order to examine a factor that influences the switching surge voltage, this paper proposes the system equivalent model and performs the case studies using EMTP.

  • This paper presents to find suitable driving voltage source for moving-coil-type linear oscillatory actuator(LOA). Thus, we construct control system and proposed three type driving voltage source. This scheme demonstrated experiments. Then, we find suitable driving voltage source for LOA.

4.16kV 및 6.6kV 전동기 고정자 권선의 절연열화 판정기준 (Judgement Criterion of Insulation Deterioration in 4.16kV and 6.6kV Motor Stator Windings)

  • To assess the condition of stator insulation, nondestructive tests were performed on twenty five coil groups and twenty six motors. The stator windings has nominal ratings of 6.6kV and are classified into five coil groups ;one group with healthy insulation and four groups with four different types of artificial defects. After completing nondestructive tests, the AC voltage applied to the stator windings was gradually increasing until insulation failure in order to obtain the breakdown voltage. No.1, No.2 and No.6 of 6.6kV motors failed near rated voltage of 14kV, 8.7kV and 14kV, respectively. The breakdown voltage of three motors was lower that expected for good quality coils(14.2kV) in 6.6kV motors. No.3 and No.6 of 4.16kV motors failed near rated voltage of 5.6kV and 4.2kV, respectively. Almost all of failures were located in a line-end coil at the exit from the core slot. The breakdown voltages and the types of defects showed strong relation to the stator insulation tests such as in the case of AC current, dissipation factor(tan${\delta}$) and partial discharge magnitude.

고압 배전선로 전력선 통신 신호결합장치 개발 (Development of Signal Coupler for Power Line Communication over Medium Voltage Distribution Line)

  • For broadband high-data-rate power line communication with the allocated frequency bandwidth from 2 to 30 MHz on medium voltage (MV) distribution power lines, a signal coupling unit is developed. The coupling unit is composed of a coupling capacitor for coupling communication signal, a drain coil, and an impedance matching part. The coupling capacitor made of ceramic capacitor is designed for transmission property of better than 1 dB in the frequency range. The drain coil is used for preventing low frequency high voltage from junction of medium voltage power line in case that a coupling capacitor is not working properly any more. Also, using ferrite core, a novel broadband impedance matching transformer is developed. A complete coupling unit with a coupling capacitor, a drain coil, and a matching transformer is housed by polymer for good isolation and distinguishing from high voltage electric facilities. Each is fabricated and its frequency behavior is tested. Finally, complete signal couplers are equipped in a MV PLC test bed and their performance are measured. The measurement shows that the coupling capacitor works excellently.

Postmortem analysis of a failed liquid nitrogen-cooled prepolarization coil for SQUID sensor-based ultra-low field magnetic resonance

  • A liquid nitrogen-cooled prepolarization ($B_p$) coil made for ultra-low field nuclear magnetic resonance and magnetic resonance imaging (ULF-MR) designed to generate 7 mT/A was fabricated. However, with suspected internal insulation failure, the coil was investigated in order to find out the source of the failure. This paper reports detailed build of the failed $B_p$ coil and a number of analysis methods utilized to figure out the source and the mode of failure. The analysis revealed that pyrolytic graphite sheet linings put on either sides of the coil for better thermal conduction acted as an electrical bridge between inner and outer layers of the coil to short out the coil whenever a moderately high voltage was applied across the coil. A simple model circuit simulation corroborated the analysis and further revealed that the failed insulation acted effectively as a damping resistor of $R_{d,eff}=6{\Omega}$ across the coil. This damping resistance produced a 50 ms-long voltage tail after the coil current was ramped down, making the coil not suitable for use in ULF-MR, which requires complete removal of magnetic field from $B_p$ coil within milliseconds.
