The output characteristics of the input waveform to the PZT bimorph vibrator (입력파형에 따른 PZT 바이몰프 진동자의 출력특성)

  • The aim of this study is to research maximum harvesting energy by the optimal input wave condition. The voltage characteristics of the PZT bimorph were investigated in terms of the sine wave, triangle wave and square wave according to frequency range 0~70Hz. It was found that the square wave compared with a triangular wave or square wave was showed the higher output energy. PZT bimorph was mechanically vibrated by solenoid coil experiments, which revealed two voltage peak mode according to frequency. Maximum voltage at second vibration frequency 28Hz demonstrated that the generated DC voltage was proportional to the tip displacement of the bimorph and the phase difference between the input frequency and bimorph vibration frequency was 90 degree. It was expected that optimized design to harvest a much higher energy level from lower frequency vibrations.

  • In this paper, the temperature characteristics of mold transformer for the distribution power system have been analyzed by using computational fluid dynamics(CFD). The model has been modeled by coil, cores, insulating materials and frames about 3MVA grade mold transformer and analyzed the temperature distribution of the structure with a heat fluid. The fluid, which is incompressible ideal gas, is analyzed as a turbulent flow phenomenon on the assumption that it is natural cooling of transformer cooling system. Through this study, by examining the temperature distribution and hot-spot of the structure field of the mold transformer, cooling design and temperature distribution information, which are demanded for designing are estimated.

  • A study has been made of the damping force phenomena of the shockabsorber for automobile. The main results obtained are as follows; 1) We can neglect friction loss between cylinder and piston, as it is very small compared to other damping force. 2) Damping force due to coil spring and disc valve shows comparatively stable at various piston speed and oil temperature. 3) Theoretical and experimental values are well agreed on relatively low piston speed. 4) Theoretical value on piston speed of 600mm/sec, 900mm/sec at oil temperature $20^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$ and $80^{\circ}C$ is about 82% of experimental value. 5) Theretical value at oil temperature $-20^{\circ}C$, $0^{\circ}C$ is about 67% of experimental value.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of the shielded inductive superconducting fault current limiter(FCL) were simulated and analyzed to search for the parameter to determine FCL operation, Fault current limiting operation can be executed as resistive or inductive type, which is determined by iron-core radius and the number of the primary coil turns. It was considered through this paper that the operation of each was compared and examined about the merit of each mode.

  • In this paper, the eddy current flow meter with 4-coil group is designed and made on the basis of theory, and its characteristics is considered through dry test flow experiments. The biggest output signal varied with wave form and frequency, and 900Hz in rectangular wave, 27.12kHz in sine wave. The conductivity is bigger, the output signal is bigger and has a linearity between both relation, and also The Magnetic Reynolds Number and output characteristics. The flow faster and the output singnal is bigger.

  • Power transformer have many unsymmetrical structure and electric field is enhanced in that area. Those unsymmetrical area are not covered oftenly by solid insulating material which is used as a framework specially in gas transformer. By that result there is a possibility to decrease the total insulation class of the transformer. So in this study the electrical characteristic of $FC+SF_6$ mixture gas which is used as coolants for large power gas insulated transformer and its effects on electrical characteristics of structural material are investigated. Also breakdown characteristic with the tension of taping and curvature of the coil are studied which could be used as a design factor of large power transformer.

  • This paper deals with simulation of the three-phase dc reactor type fault current limiter(FCL). This is a preliminary step to develop the FCL's faculties for an application to high voltage transmission line. A three-phase dc reactor type FCL consists of transformers, diodes, and a superconducting coil. By this simulation for the short-circuit test we can investigate the safety of FCL's elements. And, result of simulation will contribute parameter toward optimal design.

  • Ion plating method using plasma is faster as several times than electron beam plating method in plating process. Recently, a variety of techniques for this method are being researched. In this paper to produce sheet plasma with high density for ion plating we designed magnetic circuit of MgO plating device consisting of solenoid coil, rectangular permanent magnet. And, we researched on the effect of those by analyzing magnetic field distribution using FEM.

  • Bypass air conditioning systems are divided into three types; an outdoor air bypass, a mixed air bypass and a return air bypass system. What makes the return air by pass system more effective is that it directs all of moist outdoor air through the cooling coil. The bypass air conditioning system can maintain indoor R.H (Relative Humidity) less than a conventional CAV (Constant Air Volume) air conditioning system by adjusting face and bypass dampers at part load. When a design sensible load (the ratio of sensible load to total sensible load) is 70 percent (at this time, RSHF (Room Sensible Heat Factor) . 0.7), indoor R.H was maintained 59 percent by the return air bypass system, but 65 percent by the conventional CAV air conditioning system (valve control system). The bypass air conditioning system can also improve IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) in many buildings where the number of air change is high.

  • A superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system has shorter response time and longer life time, and is more economical, and environment-friendly than other uninterruptible power supply (UPS). A conduction cooling system is well answer for the high temperature superconductor (HTS) SMES system. Because the conduction cooling system is simple, light and small structure. The purpose of this paper is to design and verify the effective conduction cooling system for the HTS SMES system. The analysis of heat loads in cryostat is performed. Thermal shield heat loads, temperatures of HTS coil surface and conduction Cu plate are estimated and measured.
