  • This paper introduces the design method of a Control Rod Drive Mechanism that consists of 3 coils -lift, movable gripper and stationary gripper coil. The vertical attraction forces of the lift, movable gripper, and stationary gripper armatures are calculated by FEM, then the dynamics with full load is demonstrated.

  • This study is to illustrate the usefulness of Kriging Dimension Reduction Method(KDRM), which is to construct probability distribution of response function in the presence of the physical uncertainty of input variables. DRM has recently received increased attention due to its sensitivity-free nature and efficiency that considerable accuracy is obtained with only a few number of analyses. However, the DRM has a number of drawbacks such as instability and inaccuracy for functions with increased nonlinearity. As a remedy, Kriging interpolation technique is incorporated which is known as more accurate for nonlinear functions. The KDRM is applied and compared with MCS methods in a compression coil spring design problem. The effectiveness and accuracy of this method is verified.

  • The engine cooling system is a device that maintains the temperature in the engine room at an appropriate level by driving a cooling fan when the temperature in the engine room generated during the vehicle operation occurs over a certain temperature. In recent years, the vehicle cooling system has changed to an electronic system. Therefore, in this paper, we design and develop a hall sensor based electronic engine cooling system. In this paper, a hall sensor module and an actuator module for engine cooling control system are designed. In order to verify the performance of the designed module, the magnetic field control was verified through the simulation of the diameter and the head of the coil.

슬랩법을 이용한 쌍롤식 박판주조 공정의 열간 압연 해석 (An Analysis of Hot-Rolling in the Twin-Roll Strip Casting Process by using the Slab Method)

  • In this paper, the slab method have been applied to investigate the strip casting process in which hot coil is produced from molten steel directly. In the twin roll strip casting process, molten steel supplied by the nozzle cools and solidifies due to the heat extraction effect of the rolls and hot rolling of the solidified shell takes place simultaneously. The analysis of hot rolling has been carried out by using the existing results of solidification analysis for the twin roll strip casting process. The current slab method provides basic design data such as roll separation force, rolling torque, rolling power as well as end dam separation force which are required to design strip caster. The effect of friction on the basic process parameters are investigated also. It is shown that the use of appropriate friction coefficient is important and that the characteristics of hot rolling in the twin-roll strip casting process is quite different from the conventional hot rolling processes.

  • The dc reactor type superconducting fault current limiter is composed of a power converter, magnetic core reactors and a do reactor that is a superconducting coil. When a fault occurs, the dc reactor maintains the stability of system by limiting its fault current. In this study, we focus on the design of the dc reactor using FEM(Finite Element Method). In order to design it, various elements should be considered such as magnetic field intensity, Lorentz's force, its inductance and so forth. Firstly, we forecast the values of those elements from the simulation of FEM and then measured with a copper wire magnet. Finally, verify the reliability of this FEM method by comparing with two results.

  • In this paper, the power-linking device connecting the high-Tc super-conducting(HTS) coil to the power system in the DC reactor type three-phase high-Tc superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been designed. This design was triggered from the concept that the magnetic energy could be exchanged into the electrical energy each other. Ferromagnetic material is used as the path of magnetic flux. The device mentioned above was named Magnetic Core Reactor(MCR). MCR was designed to minimize the voltage drop caused by copper loss. The current density of the conductor was 1.3 A/mm$^2$ and % voltage drop was 2%.

  • An optimal design approach is presented for high homogeneity superconducting magnet with superconducting active shield especially for use in magnetic resonance imaging system. This paper is investigated phenomena for the stray magnetic field to get a basic reduction techniques of the unwanted stray magnetic field from the magnet. The present method obtains optimal coil configuration considering constraints for magnetic field homogeneity and leakage field.

  • This paper introduces a new active magnetic bearing(AMB) that can provide both radial and axial control functions in one bearing unit without axial disk. It has a structure of double four-pole AMB or a four-pole AMB where each core is split into two axially. The cores have two kinds of coil winding; they independently generate fluxes on the planes perpendicular or parallel to the shaft. For the radial control action, it works just like a conventional four-pole AMB. Meanwhile, for the axial control, it uses the Lorentz force generated by the interaction of the bias flux for radial control and the axial control flux. In this paper, the proposed structure, principle, and design process based on magnetic flux analysis are introduced, and its feasibility is experimentally verified by using a simple PD control algorithm with a feedforward loop to compensate the coupled flux effect.

  • This paper describes the development process of mosquito trap with the effect of air cleaning by using the substance-field analysis and evolution pattern of systems in the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ). We g(It the concept of the mosquito trap with mosquito attractants instead of mosquito reluctants such as mosquito stick coil and skin medicine with bad and toxic smell. The number of mosquitos traped by one trap near cattle shed per one night in summer, was over 10 thousands with some effects of air cleaning

로우암 프레스 성형 조건의 최적화를 위한 CAE 기술의 적용 (Application of CAE Techinique for the Optimization of Press Forming Condition of Low Arm)

  • In this study, optimization for press forming condition of low arm was performed with explicit dynamic FEM code, Pam-Stamp. FEM simulation was coupled with the Taguchi's experiment technique having three design variables - friction coefficient, plastic anisotropy parameter, and blank shape - which are chosen to be optimized. The simulation results were compared with those of experiment. We found out the change of blank shape among these three design variables is very effective in optimizing press forming condition of low arm. In addition, the modified blank shape shows high yield of slitting coil.
