  • The MUSIC(MUltiple SIgnal Characterization)algorithm has been extenced to the UCERSS(Unit Circle Eigendecomposition Rational Signal Subspace) by taking eigendecimposition on the unit circle in order to estimate incident angles of multiple wide band signals. The purpose of this paper is to presetn SSB-UCERSS(Signal Subspace Based UCERSS) and SS-UCERSS(Spatially Smoothed UCERSS) estimating the incident angles of multiple side band signals in multipath(coherent signals) environments. Computer simulation results indicate that SSB-UCERSS yields the best result, while the SS-UCERSS performs better than the UCERTSS in a multipath environment.

  • Multicarrier modulation or orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) is a promising technique for mobile communications systems, since it has a strong immunity to multipath fading without employing complicated adaptive equalization. In this paper, performance of MC DS-CDMA/MPSK(multi-carrier direct sequence-code division multiple access/mary phase shift keying) and DS-CDMA/MPSK(direct sequence-code division multiple access/mary phase shift keying) with coherent detection for a CDMA system over Nakagami fading channel analysis. For a given bandwidth, it is shown that MC DS-CDMA/MPSK eventually outperforms DS-CDMA MPSK with random sequences.

  • The surface of semiconductor solar cells, such as a-Si or CIGS (CuInGaSe) solar cells is not flat but textured in the microscopic domain. With textured surfaces, the optical reflectivity of a solar cell is different from that of flat surfaces in the wavelength region. In this paper, the effects of a textured surface on a CIGS solar cell are presented by RCWA (Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis) method. The effect of incoherent light is also considered by RCWA with a Fourier analysis while conventional optical simulation uses the input light on the solar cell as coherent light. Using experimental results, the author showed that the RCWA method with a Fourier analysis is a proper method to simulate the optical properties of CIGS solar cells.

  • Calculation of error probabilities for a coherent phase-shilft keyed communication system operating in a transionospheric scintillation channel is accomplished by means of the Gauss-quadrature integration formula. The channel model used, patterned after Rino's work, is slowly flat fading wherein the envelope of the received signal is modeled as the envelope of correlated Gaussian quadrature random processes. The error probability for the scintillation channel is calculated using actual ionospheric scintillation data for transmission in the UHF region(30-300MHz).

  • This paper considers the mutual interference problem of several users employing the same FH systems in selected multiple user environments. The environment consists of a desired transmitter-receiver pair located in an area where there are M interfering users distributed in accordance with a specified probability density function. Both coherent Phase-Shift-Keyed and incoherent Frequencey-Shift-Keyed modulations are considered. The general formulas of the average bit error probability are derived. The calculation results are summarized and analyzed. The average bit error probability is highly dependent on the relative location of interferences to the desired link, the time duty factor of the hopping and the number of available channels.

  • In this paper, we compare the performance of noncoherent DS-CDMA system where orthogonal code is used for identifying the user to reduce multiple access interference or for M-ary orthogonal signaling to improve the performance of demodulation. The effects of M-ary orthogonal signaling on the noncoherent demodulation is investigated and compared with one of coherent demodulation. The analysis results show that M-ary orthogonal signaling gives better performance than quasi-synchronous orthogonal scheme for a moderate number of users when the processing gain is 128 over AWGN channel. In addition, when the number of user is 41, M=64 orthogonal signaling has a similar performance to the quasi-synchronous orthogonal scheme at the BER of 10-2 when the time misalignment between channels is within 1/2 chip and M=256 orthogonal signaling always outperforms the quasi-synchronous orthogonal scheme. Start after striking space key 2 times.

  • This paper proposes a new technique for frequency offset correction for OFDM systems on a frequency selective fading channel. Frequency offset in OFDM introduces interchannel interference among the multiple subcarriers of OFDM signal. To compensate the interference, this paper describes an algorithm with two stages:acquisition and tracking. At both stages, the proposed algorithm oversamples the received OFDM signal to obtain a couple of demodulated symbol sets. At acquisition stage the frequency offset is reduced to half or less of the intercarrier spacings by matching the sign pattern of each element of the sets. Next, at tracking stage the frequency offset is corrected with a frequency detector which is controlled by the correlation of the two sets. It is shown that the proposed algorithm can correct the frequency offset in the event of uncertainty in the initial offset that exceeds one half of the intercarrier spacing. In addition, the proposed algorithm is robust to transmitted symbols and channel characteristics by using oversampled symbol sets.

  • Let R and S be two commutative rings, J be an ideal of S and f : R → S be a ring homomorphism. The amalgamation of R and S along J with respect to f, denoted by R ⋈f J, is the special subring of R × S defined by R ⋈f J = {(a, f(a) + j) | a ∈ R, j ∈ J}. In this paper, we study some basic properties of a special kind of R ⋈f J-modules, called the amalgamation of M and N along J with respect to , and defined by M ⋈ JN := {(m, (m) + n) | m ∈ M and n ∈ JN}, where  : M → N is an R-module homomorphism. The new results generalize some known results on the amalgamation of rings and the duplication of a module along an ideal.

  • Ultra-wideband communication systems based on impulse radio have merits that are possible for the high data rate transmission, high resolution ranging are positioning system. Conventionally, in order to accomplish these features, the high-speed ADC (Analog to Digital Convertor) is necessary to apply radio determination system operating in time domain. However, considering low rate - wireless personal area network (LR-WPAN) aims to low-cost hardware implementation, the expensive ADC converting GHz sampling per second is not appropriate. So, this paper introduces a low complex AR (Auto Regressive) model based non-coherent ranging scheme operating in frequency domain with using low-speed ADC utilizing analog Voltage Control Oscillator (VCO) mode for the frequency domain transformation. To verify the superiority of the proposed ranging and location algorithm working in frequency domain, the suggested IEEE 802.15.4a TG channel model is used to exploit affirmative features of the proposed algorithm with conducting the simulation results.

  • A Satellite transponder is mounted on the Satellite and performs radio communications with the ground station. A Digital transponder compared to The analog transponder is made easy and accurate performance prediction. Also Modulation Scheme, Data Rate, Loop Bandwidth, Modulation Index and etc. can be changed on orbit, by implementing FPGA can reduce the weight and volume. The core technology of digital transponder is Carrier Recovery loop. Dynamic Range, Frequency Tracking Range, Frequency Tracking Rate and Coherent performance are determined by the performance of the Carrier Recovery loop. In this paper, we proposed the structure of Carrier Recovery loop for the Satellite digital transponder, then tested and verified the structure.
