The Analysis of Noise contribution about Drum Washer under dehydrating condition using Multi-Dimensional Spectral Analysis (다차원 스펙트럼 해석법을 이용한 탈수시 드럼세탁기의 소음 기여도 분석)

  • Recently, customers interest about noise of household electric appliance is growing. so, designer of product must study to reduce noise of product. Specially, in case of household electric appliance such as washing machine, there was consumers' complaint about noise that is radiated under dehydrating condition. But, in the case of washing machine, identification of noise source is not easy when washing machine is under dehydrating condition. Because various noise source influence each other, it is difficult to find out pure contribution degree about output noise. Multi-Dimensional Spectral Analysis(MDSA) is method that can remove correlation between inputs each other and express pure contribution degree about output of single input. So in this study, we analyzed contribution of each noise source on transfer pass of noise that is radiated at dehydration of washing machine using MDSA.

  • Recently, there has been a growing consumer interest in the amount of noise produced by household electrical appliances. The designer of the product must identify the source of the noise, in order to reduce the noise. In the case of a household electric appliance such as the washing machine, there is consumer's complaint about the noise that is generated during the dehydrating condition. Because of several noise sources combined each other. It is difficult to identify the noise sources that contribute to the noise output. Multi-Dimensional Spectral Analysis (MDSA) is a method that can remove the correlation between different noise sources, and it expresses the key contributing factor as a unique output. This study utilized MDSA to analyze the contribution of each input in the noise output during the dehydrating condition.

Compensations of Polarization Mode Dispersion and Thermal Drift in Optical Coherence Tomography with PZT Optical Delay Lines (광간섭 단층촬영(OCT)용 PZT 광경로 지연기에서의 편광모드 분산 및 열요동 보상)

  • We have fabricated and characterized optical delay lines for optical coherence tomography, which is composed of cylindrical PZT(piezoelectric transducer) and single mode optical fiber. The polarization mode dispersion from the optical delay lines was compensated by the polarization controllers. By applying the duplex optical delay line, we minimized the thermal drift due to optical delay lines and obtained the scan range of 2 times that of a single optical delay line. The OCT system showed resolution of $18.6\pm0.5{\mu}m$, scanning range of 1.68mm, and scanning speed of 360.4mm/s.

  • Optical coherence tomography system has been extensively studied because it has some advantages such as imaging of high resolution, low cost, and compact size configuration. In order to obtain high resolution of OCT system we configured OCT system using a femto-second laser. We measure the pulse width using autocorrelator function because a femto-second laser is ultra short pulse. And we measured the practical resolution using theoretical equation and the measurement of reference sample. It is confirmed that the proposed OCT system has 1.5 times higher resolution and un distinctive cross-sectional image than OCT system with SLD as a light source.

Reasoning Models in Physics Learning of Scientifically Gifted Students (과학영재의 물리개념 이해에 관한 사고모형)

  • A good understanding of how gifted science students understand physics is important to developing and delivering effective curriculum for gifted science students. This dissertation reports on a systematic investigation of gifted science students' reasoning model in learning physics. An analysis of videotaped class work, written work and interviews indicate that I will discuss the framework to characterize student reasoning. There are three main groups of students. The first group of gifted science students holds several different understandings of a single concept and apply them inconsistently to the tasks related to that concept. Most of these students hold the Aristotelian Model about Newton's second law. In this case, I define this reasoning model as the manifold model. The second group of gifted science students hold a unitary understanding of a single concept and apply it consistently to several tasks. Most of these students hold a Newtonian Model about Newton's second law. In this case, I define this reasoning model as the coherence model. Finally, some gifted science students have a manifold model with several different perceptions of a single concept and apply them inconsistently to tasks related to the concept. Most of these students hold the Aristotelian Model about Newton's second law. In this case, I define this reasoning model as the coherence model.

Factors Influencing Health Status by the salutogenic Theory of Radiologists (방사선사의 건강생성이론에 의한 건강상태 영향요인)

  • This study is based on the theory of salutogenesis, and investigates factors affecting the health status of radiologists who experience high stress and health problems in the rapidly changing medical environment. The study enrolled 379 radiologists working at hospitals in Daegu. A health structure model was established by applying the theory of salutogenesis. Sense of coherence had a direct effect on the health status of radiologists. Psychological stress, social support, and drinking were also influential factors, due to their mediating effect on the sense of coherence. Moreover, social support was also found to be lower when job stresses were higher. Hence, increased psychological stress resulted in lower levels of sense of coherence, social support and exercise. Taken together, results of this study indicate that effects on the sense of coherence have maximum influence on the health status of radiologists, and social support among general resistance resources is an important factor for enhancing sense of coherence. In addition to social support and health behaviors, researches involving various resources and the development of organizational strategies and health promotion intervention programs are required in future, to enable radiologists to cope with their stresses and improve health.

Spatio-Spectral Coherence Analysis of ERP signals for Attentional Visual Stimulus (시각 자극의 집중에 따른 뇌유발전위의 공간-주파수 상관 분석)

  • In this paper, the brain function in relation with human's visual attention was investigated by means of coherence and bicoherence methods. Throughout experimentation with attentional visual stimulus ERP (Event Related Potential) data and synthesized simulated data with different combinations of parameters, it is demonstrated that bicoherence and coherence can be useful to reveal the phase synchronies between different frequency bands at fixed scalp location, and between different scalp locations at fixed frequency band, respectively. Both methods are also affected by time interval from the onset, and the level of white noise added. The phase coupled relationships among ${\Theta}$, ${\delta}$, and ${\alpha}$ bands, and between frontal and central lobes were observed for attentional tasks, while those were little observable for inattentional tasks, which can show brain's functional spatio-spectral differences associated with human's attention.

A Research on Training Effect of EEG according to Repetitive Movement of a Hand (반복동작에 따른 EEG의 훈련 효과)

  • This study is to find training effect on EEG(Electroencephalography) and EMG(electromyogram) evoked by repetitive movement of a hand. Five university students participated in this study and were asked to perform repetitive movement of right hand for 5 seconds with rest for 10 seconds. They repeated the movement for 48 minutes and for 5 days. EEG and EMG were measured according to every movement. Coherence between EEG and EMG and power spectrum of EEG were analyzed and were tried to observe their changes within a day and between days of the repetitive movement. Training effect according the time of the movement was significantly found in mu and beta frequencies in EEG. However, training effect was not significant between the days of the movement and also, not in coherence between EEG and EMG.

A research on EEG coherence variation by relaxation (이완에 따른 EEG 코히런스 변화에 대한 연구)

  • This study is to analyze change of connectivity between brain positions caused by relaxation through EEG coherence. EEG spectrum analysis method has been used to analyze brain activity when relaxation was experienced. However, the spectrum analysis method has a limit that could not observe interactive reaction between brain-functional positions. Therefore, coherence between positions was analyzed to observe connectivity between the measurement positions in this study. Through the method, the reaction of the central nervous system caused by the emotion change was observed. Twenty-four undergraduates of both genders(12 males and 12 females) were asked to close their eyes and listen to the sound. During experiment, EEG was measured at eight positions. The eight positions were F3, F4, T3, T4, P3, P4, O1, and O2 in accordance with International 10-20 system. The sounds with white noise and without were used for relaxation experience. Subjective emotion was measured to verify whether or not they felt relaxation. Subjective emotion of participants were analyzed by ANOVA method(Analysis of Variance). In the result, it was proved that relaxation was subjectively evoked when participants heard sound. Accordingly, it was proved that relaxation could be enhanced by the mixed white noise. EEG coherence between the measurement positions was analyzed. T-test was performed to find its significant difference between relaxation and not-relaxation. In the results of EEG coherence, connectivity with occipital lobes has been increased with relaxation, and connectivity with parietal lobes has been increased with non-relaxed state. Therefore, brain connectivity has shown different pattern between relaxed emotion and non-relaxed emotion.

Analysis of the Relationship between the Flow Characteristics of the Tsushima Warm Current and Pacific Decadal Oscillation (대마난류의 유동 특성과 PDO의 관계 분석)

  • In this study, to understand the factors influencing the flow change the Tsushima Warm Current (TWC), the correlation between the volume transport the TWC, El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), and Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) was analyzed. A calculation of the monthly volume transport of TWC for 25 years (1993-2018) revealed that the seasonal fluctuation cycle was the largest in summer and smallest in winter. Power spectrum analysis to determine the periodicity of the TWC volume transport, Oceanic Niño Undex (ONI), and PDO indicated that the TWC volume transport peaked at a one year cycle, but ONI and PDO showed no clear cycle. Further, to understand the correlation between the TWC transport volume and ONI and PDO, the coherence estimation method was used for analysis. The coherence of ONI and PDO had a high mutual contribution in long-period fluctuations of three years or more but had low mutual contribution in short-period fluctuations within one year. However, the coherence value between the two factors of the TWC volume transport and PDO was 0.7 in the 0.8-1.2 year cycle, which had a high mutual contribution. Meanwhile, the TWC volume transport and PDO have an inverse correlation between period I (1993-2002) and period III (2010-2018). When the TWC maximum transport volume (2.2 Sv or more) was high, the PDO index showed a negative value below -1.0, and the PDO index showed a positive value when the TWC maximum transport volume was (below 2.2 Sv). Therefore, using long-term PDO index data, changes in the TWC transport volume and water temperature in the East Sea coastal area could be predicted.
