SCUBA-2 Observation of the JWST/GTO Time Domain Survey Field

  • The Time Domain Field is one of the future GTO program fields of JWST(JWST/GTO TDS), surveying about 14' diameter field at the North Eliptical Pole(NEP) with NIRCam/NIRISS. As a part of the multi-wavelength study of the field, we have obtained SCUBA-2 850㎛ mapping which reaches a depth of σrms = 0.9mJy/beam and detect 93 sources at S/N > 3.5 ― which are expected to be highly star-forming (SFR>400M◉/yr) galaxies at z ≳ 1.5-4 and pinpoint the location at <0. " 1 accuracy of 68 sub-mm sources by identifying VLA 3GHz radio counterparts. In this talk, we will introduce the SCUBA-2 JWST/GTO TDS project and the newly discovered sub-mm sources in this field.

How Does 12-weeks of Taekwondo Training Effect Older Persons' Functional Fitness: A Preliminary Study

  • PURPOSE: This pre-post intervention study aimed to examine the effects of a 12-week supervised modified Taekwondo exercise program on the functional fitness of community-dwelling older adults. METHODS: 10 participants (mean age: 72.3 ± 4.6 years) completed the program over a 12-week period. The intervention consisted of Taekwondo-based exercises modified for older persons. Changes to functional fitness were measured using the finger-to-nose test, functional reach test, timed up and go test, 30-second sit-to-stand test, 30-second arm curl test, Chester step test, chair sit-and-reach test, and back scratch test. Participants were assessed prior to the training and after the final training session, changes were measured using descriptive statistics and paired sample 't' tests. RESULTS: Effect sizes ranged from small to large (Cohen's d = .22 to 1.23). The exercise program was well- tolerated by participants, with a high level of engagement and no attrition for the duration of the program. Results showed significant improvements in most measures of functional fitness (p < .05) except for the back scratch test (p = .051). CONCLUSION: These findings suggest a well-designed, supervised, modified Taekwondo exercise program can significantly improve functional fitness in older adults.

읽기 및 쓰기 학습 부진 아동을 위한 학습치료 프로그램 효과 -다문화 아동을 대상으로- (Effect of Reading and Writing Abilities Improvement Program for Elementary School Children of Multicultural Families)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 읽기 및 쓰기 학습 부진을 가진 다문화 아동을 대상으로 학습치료 프로그램을 실시하여 그 효과를 검증하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 기초학력검사(KISE-BAAT)를 실시하여 읽기와 쓰기에 어려움을 가진 다문화 아동을 선별하여 대상자를 모집하였다. 읽기 및 쓰기 학습 부진 아동 17명 중, 부모와 아동의 동의를 얻어 9명은 학습치료 프로그램 집단에 8명은 통제 집단에 배정하였다. 학습치료 프로그램은 상향식 접근을 근간으로 하고 직접 교수법을 사용하여 학습치료를 실시하도록 구성되었으며, 주 1회 총 16회기(4개월)로 구성되었다. 읽기 쓰기 능력에 대한 효과 비교에서 학습치료 프로그램 집단은 사후 평가에서 읽기와 쓰기 능력에서 향상이 있었으며, 통제 집단에서는 변화가 없었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 그리고 향후 연구 방향을 논의하였다.

CBCT 및 3D CT를 활용한 상악 유구치 치근과 근관 형태 (Root and Canal Morphology of Maxillary Primary Molar using CBCT and 3D CT)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 상악 유구치의 치근 및 근관의 형태학적 특성을 분석하는 것이다. 2006년 1월부터 2020년 4월까지 서울대학교 치과병원에서 CBCT 및 3D CT를 촬영한 3 - 7세 환자 총 268명(남자 175명, 여자 93명)이 연구에 포함되었으며, 치근 흡수와 치수병변이 없는 총 1002개의 상악 유구치의 치근과 근관 수를 분석하였다. 218개의 치아에 대해 치근과 근관의 형태, 이개각도, 치근과 근관의 길이 및 근관의 단면 형태를 분석하였다. 48개의 치아에 대해서는 Mimics 및 3-Matics software를 사용하여 치근 치수의 부피와 표면적, 치근-치수 비를 측정하였다. 절반 이상이 3개의 치근과 3개의 근관을 가지고 있었다. 좌우측 치아의 대칭성(Cohen's kappa coefficient)은 약 0.63이었다. 치근과 근관의 형태는 상악 제1유구치에서는 직선형이, 제2유구치에서는 곡선형이 많이 관찰되었다. 치근의 이개 정도, 치근과 근관의 길이는 상악 제1, 2유구치 모두 구개측 치근에서 가장 크게 나타났다. 근단부에서 근관의 단면 형태는 주로 ovoid 혹은 round형이었다. 치근 치수의 부피와 표면적, 치근-치수 비는 상악 제1,2유구치 모두 구개측 치근 치수에서 가장 크게 나타났다.

Manual Contouring Based Volumetric Evaluation for Colorectal Cancer with Liver Limited Metastases: A Comparison with RECIST

  • Background: To compare response evaluation criteria in solid tumours (RECIST) and volumetric evaluation (VE) for colorectal cancer with liver-limited metastasis. Patients and Methods: VE of liver metastases was performed by manual contouring before and after chemotherapy on 45 pairs of computed tomography (CT) images in 36 patients who suffered from metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) with liver metastasis only. Cohen kappa was used to compare the agreement between VE and RECIST. Pearson correlation was performed for their comparison after cubic root transformation of the aggregate tumor volumes. Logistic regression was done to identify clinical and radiographic factors to account for the difference which may be predictive in overall response (OR). Results: There were 16 partial response (PR), 23 stable disease (SD) and 6 progressive disease (PD) cases with VE, and 14 PR, 23 SD and 8 PD with RECIST. VE demonstrated good agreement with RECIST (${\chi}$=0.779). Discordant objective responses were noted in 6 pairs of comparisons (13.3%). Pearson correlation also showed excellent correlation between VE and RECIST ($r^2$=0.966, p<0.001). Subgroup analysis showed that VE was in slightly better agreement with RECIST for enlarging lesions than for shrinking lesions ($r^2$=0.935 and $r^2$=0.780 respectively). No factor was found predictive of the difference in OR between VE and RECIST. Conclusions: VE exhibited good agreement with RECIST. It might be more useful than RECIST in evaluation shrinking lesions in cases of numerous and conglomerate liver metastases.

  • Electric activity of cardiac muscles generates magnetic fields. Magnetocardiography (or MCG) technology, measuring these magnetic signals, can provide useful information for the diagnosis of heart diseases. It is already about 40 years ago that the first measurement of MCG signals was done by D. Cohen using SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device) sensor inside a magnetically shielded room. In the early period of MCG history, bulky point-contact RF-SQUID was used as the magnetic sensor. Thanks to the development of Nb-based Josephson junction technology in mid 1980s and new design of tightly-coupled DC-SQUID, low-noise SQUID sensors could be developed in late 1980s. In around 1990, several groups developed multi-channel MCG systems and started clinical study. However, it is quite recent years that the true usefulness of MCG was verified in clinical practice, for example, in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. For the practical MCG system, technical elements of MCG system should be optimized in terms of performance, fabrication cost and operation cost. In this review, development history, technical issue, and future development direction of MCG technology are described.

트레드밀 운동이 뇌졸중 환자의 폐기능과 보행능력에 미치는 효과 : 메타분석 (Effects of Treadmill Exercise on Pulmonary Function and Gait Capacity in Stroke Patients : A meta-analysis)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to conduct a comprehensive meta-analysis to evaluate the effect size for pulmonary function and gait capacity of treadmill exercise in stroke patients. In addition, we aimed to examine the current status of treadmill interventions and compare the effect sizes of treadmill training to provide evidence-based practice for future development and application. Methods : The meta-analysis study was conducted using research articles that applied treadmill exercise to stroke patients and were published between January 2005 and February 2020. For a systematic meta-analysis, we conducted a search using the PICOS framework and selected 25 domestic stroke- and treadmill-related studies. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis program was used to calculate the effect sizes for lung function and gait capacity (6-minute walk test and 10 m walk test). As Cohen's d has a tendency to overestimate the effect size, we used Hedge's g to increase the accuracy in computing the effect size. Results : Based on the results of the meta-analysis, the total effect size of treadmill exercise was 0.535, which was statistically significant, with a medium effect size (p<0.05). The effects of treadmill exercise in stroke patients were divided into dependent variables, namely pulmonary function (0.372) and gait capacity (0.584). In addition, for gait capacity, the effect sizes were evaluated for both the 6-minute walk test (0.756) and the 10 m walk test (0.514). Conclusion : This study provides objective evidence of the effectiveness of treadmill-based gait training programs. We hope that the results of this study will help support the development and implementation of treadmill-based gait training in stroke patients. Treadmill training is expected to improve not only pulmonary function, but also the gait capacity of stroke patients. Long-term investigations on the effects of treadmill training in stroke patients are necessary.

Effect of Modified High-heels on Metatarsal Stress in Female Workers

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of high-heels (HH) modification on metatarsal stress in female workers. Method: Seven females who work in clothing stores ($heights=160.4{\pm}3.9cm$; $weights=47.4{\pm}4.1kg$; $age=31.3{\pm}11.1yrs$; $HH\;wear\;career=8{\pm}6.5yrs$) wore two types of HH (original and modified). The modified HH had been grooved with 1.5 cm radius and 0.2 cm depth around the first metatarsal area inside of the shoes using the modified shoe-last. Participants were asked to walk for 15 minutes on a treadmill and to stand for 10 minutes with original and modified HH, respectively. Kinetics data were collected by the F-scan in-shoe system. After each test, participants were asked to rate their perceived exertion using the Borg's 15-grade RPE scale and interviewed about their feeling of HH. Nonparametric Wilcoxon signed-rank test and effect size (Cohen's d) were used to determine the difference of the variables of interest between the original and modified HH. Results: In the present study, modified HH of the peak contact pressure of 1st metatarsal (PCP) left, PCP right, pressure time integral (PTI) left, peak pressure gradient (PPG) left during standing and PPG right during walking are greater than original HH. And even it didn't show statistically significant, the average in all pressure values of modified HH showed bigger than original HH. It surmised to be related to awkward with modified HH. Even though they said to feel the comfortable cause of big space inside of HH in the interview, they seemed to be not enough time to adapt with new HH. So their walking and standing postures were unstable. Conclusion: Modified the fore-medial part of HH can reduce the stress in the first metatarsal head and big toe area during standing and walking.

사상체질 진단설문지(KS-15)를 이용한 외형, 성정, 병증의 추적관찰 및 체질값 변화 연구 : 5년 추적 (A Study of Changes in Body Shape, Temperament, Symptoms and Sasang Constitutional Values Using the Korea Sasang Constitutional Diagnostic Questionnaire (KS-15) : 5 Year Follow Up)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to compare between baseline and follow up data after 5 years about the change of Sasang constitutional value. Methods Cohort data of educational personnel in D University was used. Korean Sasang Constitutional Diagnostic Questionnaire was used to compare Sasang value including body shape, temperament, and pathological symptoms in baseline with those of follow up. Paired t test, chi-square test, correlation analysis and cohen's kappa coefficient was used. Results Total 150 subjects participated in this analysis. Taeeumin, Soeumin and Soyangin was 71, 46 and 33 respectively. Height decreased in follow-up, and weight increased, accordingly body mass index increased(p<.05). The score of nocturia was significantly increased, and the temperature of drinking water was significantly decreased. The consistency rate of the Sasang constitutional values in KS-15 between baseline and follow up was 76%, and the kappa value was 0.607. Compared to the expert's diagnosis, the agreement rate was 66.7% in baseline and 69.3% in follow up. Conclusion As times goes by, Sasang Constitutional phenotype, such as body mass index, nocturia, and temperature of drinking water, and accordingly, the predicted value of Sasang constitution may be changed. Those who use Sasang constitutional type and therapy in clinics should consider these factors.

Ayres의 감각통합중재가 학령전기 주의력결핍 과잉행동장애(ADHD) 성향 아동의 운동기능 및 작업참여에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Ayres Sensory Integration Intervention on the Motor Skills and Occupation Participation of Preschool Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)

  • 목적 : 학령전기 주의력결핍 과잉행동장애(Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; ADHD) 성향 아동을 대상으로 Ayres의 감각통합중재를 적용하여 운동기능 및 작업참여에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 선별 검사를 통해 선정기준과 배제기준에 부합하는 만 4~6세의 ADHD 성향 아동 중 무작위로 선별한 실험군 10명, 대조군 8명이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 연구 도구는 운동기능을 측정하기 위하여 Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency-2(BOT-2), 작업수행을 통한 참여 정도를 알아보기 위해 Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory(PEDI)와 목표달성척도(Goal Attainment Scale;GAS)를 사용하였다. 실험군은 Ayres의 중심원리를 적용한 개별 감각통합중재를 40분씩, 주 2회, 8주간 총 16회기를 실시하였다. 분석은 중재효과를 알아보기 위해 두군의 차이는 맨휘트니 U 검정과 Cohen'sd 검정을 사용하였고, 실험군 내의 중전 전 후 차이는 윌콕슨 부호순위 검정을 사용하였다. 연구결과 : Ayres의 감각통합중재를 실시한 실험군은 중재를 실시하지 않은 대조군에 비해 운동기능에서 전체 운동영역 점수와 손의 협응, 신체 협응, 근력과 기민성 영역에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 실험군과 대조군의 작업참여(PEDI)는 통계적으로 차이는 없었으나, GAS 점수에서는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 결론 : Ayres의 감각통합중재는 학령전기 ADHD 성향 아동의 운동기능과 작업참여에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다.
