In the paper, we propose a new CMF(Constant Modulus Fourth) algorithm for WCDMA(Wideband Code Multiple Access) RF(Radio Frequency) Repeater. CMF algorithm is proposed by modifying the CMA(Constant Modulus Algorithm) algorithm and improved performances are achieved by properly adjusting step size values. The steady state MSE(Mean Square Error) performance of the proposed CMF algorithm with step size of 0.35 is about 4dB better than that of the conventional CMA algorithm. And the proposed CMF algorithm requires 400~1100 less iterations than the LMS(Least Mean Square) and NLMS(Normalized Least Mean Square) algorithms at MSE of -25dB.

In this paper, we design and implement a firmware for low-cost small PCR devices. To minimize machine code size, the proposed firmware controls real-time tasks simultaneously only with support of the hardware interrupt, but without support of the operating system program. The proposed firmware has the host-local structure in which the firmware receives operation commands from PC and sends operation results to PC through usb communication. We implement a low-cost small PCR device with the proposed firmware loaded on microchip PIC18F4550 chip, and verify that the implemented PCR device significantly reduces cost and volume size of existing commercial PCR devices with a similar performance.
In this paper, we propose 128bits chaotic block encryption scheme using a PLCM(Piece-wise Linear Chaotic Map) having a good dynamical property. The proposed scheme has a block size of 128 bits and a key size of 128 bits. In proposed scheme we use four 32bi1s sub-keys of session key and four 32bit sub-blocks of block to decide the initial value and the number of iteration of PLCM. The encrypted code is generated from the output of PLCM. With results of test and analyses of security we show the proposed scheme is very secure against statistical attacks and have very good Avalanche Effect and Randomness properties.

Eye Glass Display (EGD) with microdisplay to realize the virtual display can make the large screen, so virtual image has been developed by using microdisplay panel. This paper shows study of spherical prism lens design and manufacture of a small size and light weigh EGD with 0.59" OLED panel. Code V is used and it designed an aspherical prism lens about eye relief 25mm and 42 degree of filed of view (FOV). With the application this aspheric prism lens to OLED type's microdisplay, virtual image showed 60 inch at 2m. It had less than 2% of distortion value and modulation transfer function in axial had 30% of resolution with 32 lp/mm spatial frequency. We made an injection molding bases to lens designed.

Cracks and defects may occur anywhere in a plate under tension. Cracks can affect the buckling stability performance and even the failure mode of the plate. A search of the literature reveals that the reported research has mostly focused on the study of plates with central and small cracks. Considering the effectiveness of cracks on the buckling behavior of plates, this study intends to investigate the effects of some key parameters, i.e., crack size and location as well as the plate aspect ratio and support conditions, on the buckling behavior, stress intensity factor (SIF), and the failure mode (buckling or fracture) in cracked plates under tension. To this end, a sophisticated mathematical code was developed using MATLAB in the frame-work of extended finite element method (XFEM) in order to analyze the buckling stability and collapse of numerous plate models. The results and findings of this research endeavor show that, in addition to the plate aspect ratio and support conditions, careful consideration of the crack location and size can be quite effective in buckling behavior assessment and failure mode prediction as well as SIF evaluation of the cracked plates subjected to tensile loading.

The aim of the present study was to develop model for detonation cell sizes prediction based on a deep artificial neural network of hydrogen, methane and propane mixtures with air and oxygen. The discussion about the currently available algorithms compared existing solutions and resulted in a conclusion that there is a need for a new model, free from uncertainty of the effective activation energy and the reaction length definitions. The model offers a better and more feasible alternative to the existing ones. Resulting predictions were validated against experimental data obtained during the investigation of detonation parameters, as well as with data collected from the literature. Additionally, separate models for individual mixtures were created and compared with the main model. The comparison showed no drawbacks caused by fitting one model to many mixtures. Moreover, it was demonstrated that the model may be easily extended by including more independent variables. As an example, dependency on pressure was examined. The preparation of experimental data for deep neural network training was described in detail to allow reproducing the results obtained and extending the model to different mixtures and initial conditions. The source code of ready to use models is also provided.

When a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) occurs in a nuclear power plant, accident scenarios which can prevent core damage are defined based on break size. Current probabilistic safety assessment evaluates that core damage can be prevented under small-break LOCA (SBLOCA) and steam generator tube rupture (SGTR) with rapid cool down (RCD) strategy when all safety injection systems are unavailable. However, previous research has pointed out a limitation of RCD in terms of initiation time. Therefore, RCD success criteria estimation based on allowable coping time under a SBLOCA or SGTR when all safety injection systems are unavailable was performed based on time-line and thermal-hydraulic analyses. The time line analysis assumed a single emergency operating procedure flow, and the thermal hydraulic analysis utilized MARS-KS code with variables of break size, cooling rate, and operator allowable time. Results show while RCD is possible under SGTR, it is impossible under SBLOCA at the APR1400's current cooling rate limitation of 55 K/hr. A success criteria map for RCD under SBLOCA is suggested without cooling rate limitation.

Proton treatment may deliver a larger dose to a patient's skin than traditional photon therapy, especially when a range shifter (RS) is inserted in the beam path. This study investigated the effects of an RS on skin dose while considering RS with different thicknesses, airgaps and materials. First, the physical model of the scanning nozzle with RS was established in the TOol for PArticle Simulation (TOPAS) code, and the effects of the RS on the skin dose were studied. Second, the variations in the skin dose and isocenter beam size were examined by reducing the air gap. Finally, the effects of different RS materials, such as polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), Lexan, polyethylene and polystyrene, on the skin dose were analysed. The results demonstrated that the current RS design had a negligible effect on the skin dose, whereas the RS significantly impacted the isocenter beam size. The skin dose was increased considerably when the RS was placed close to the phantom. Moreover, the magnitude of the increase was related to the thickness of the inserted RS. Meanwhile, the results also revealed that the secondary proton primarily contributed to the increased skin dose.

A developed code based on the unified conservation laws of incompressible/compressible fluids is applied to analyze similarity in pressure oscillations caused by pulsating air pockets in sloshing tanks. It is shown that the nondimensional time histories of pressure show good agreements under Froude and geometric similarities, provided that there are no pulsating entrapped air pockets. However, the nondimesional period of pressure oscillation due to the pulsating air pocket becomes longer as the size of the sloshing tank increases. The discrepancy in the nondimensional period is attributed to the compressibility bias of the entrapped air. To get rid of the compressibility bias, the ullage pressure in a sloshing tank is adjusted based on the Bagnold's impact number. The variation in the period of pressure oscillation according to the ullage pressure is explained based on the spring-mass system. It is shown that the nondimensional period of pressure oscillation is virtually constant when the ullage pressure is adjusted based on the Bagnold's impact number, regardless of tank size. It is found that the Bagold's impact number should be the same, if the time history of pressure is important while an entrapped air pocket pulsates.

For low-rise piloti-type buildings that suffered significant damage in the Pohang earthquake, the seismic performance of those designed by codes issued before and after the earthquake has been recently revised. This study started with the expectation that many of the requirements presented in the current codes may be excessive, and among them, the spacing of column stirrup could be relaxed. In particular, the recently revised design code of concrete structures for buildings, KDS 41 20 00, suggests that the column stirrup spacing is 1/2 of the minimum cross-sectional size or 200 mm, which is strengthened compared to KBC 2016, but relaxed than the current KDS, 41 17 00, which is 1/4 of the minimum size or 150 mm. As a result of the study, it was found that the target performance level was sufficiently satisfied by following the current standards and that it could be satisfied even if the relaxed spacing was followed. Therefore, the strict column stirrup spacing of KDS 41 17 00 could be relaxed if a wall other than core walls is recommended in the current guideline for the structural design of piloti-type buildings.
