직분식 디젤엔진의 흡입$\cdot$압축 행정시 엔진 실린더 내의 비정상 유동 해석 (Transient Flow Analyses of the Intake and Compression Processes In a Direct Injection Engine)

  • The transient flow fields in a direct injection engine was analyzed by using the STAR-CD CFD code doting the intake/compression processes. The analyses were focused on the computation grid generation by using the IC3M code which is a pre-developed and especially well adapted for the analyses of internal combustion engine. The results showed that the used grid generation technique was well suited for the flow analyses on any internal combustion engine.

  • 본 논문에서는 음성신호의 디지탈화와 대역폭축소의 한 방법으로 예측부호화 원리를 사용하는 adaptive differential pulse code modulation(ADPCM)과 adoptive delta modulation(ADM)에 관하여 고찰하였다. ADPCM에서 사용되는 대표적인 적응양자기의 원리를 설명하고 적응예측기의 계수를 얻는 두 방법, 즉 브록해석과 연차해석 방법을 검토하였다. 또한 ADM에서 사용되는 세가지 압신방법(instantaneous, syllabic, hybrid commanding)을 구체적으로 설명하고 그의 성능을 비교하였다. 마지막으로 ADPCM과 ADM을 음성신호의 부호화기로 쓸 때의 성능과 장단점들을 비교 검토하였다.

A Data Hiding Scheme Based on Turtle-shell for AMBTC Compressed Images

  • Data hiding technology hides secret information into the carrier, so that when the carrier is transmitted over network, it will not attract any malicious attention. Using data compression, it is possible to reduce the data size into a small compressed code, which can effectively reduce the time when transmitting compressed code on the network. In this paper, the main objective is to effectively combine these two technologies. We designed a data hiding scheme based on two techniques which are turtle-shell information hiding scheme and absolute moment block truncation coding. The experimental results showed that the proposed scheme provided higher embedding capacity and better image quality than other hiding schemes which were based on absolute moment block truncation coding.

허프만 코드의 선택적 암호화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Selective Encryption of Huffman Codes)

  • 네트워크에서 데이터의 보안은 암호화에 의해 제공된다. 최근 영상이나 비디오와 같은 대용량의 데이터 파일의 암호화의 비용 및 복잡성을 줄이기 위한 방안으로 선택적 암호화가 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 허프만 코딩으로 압축된 데이터의 암호화 방안을 제안하고 그 성능에 대해 논한다. 허프만 코드에 적용 가능한 단순한 선택적 암호화 방법을 제안하고 불안전한 채널에서 암호화 방법의 효율성에 대해 논의한다. 암호화 과정과 데이터 압축 과정이 하나로 결합될 수 있으며 그렇게 함으로서 데이터를 압축하고 암호화하는 과정을 간략화 하고 시간을 줄일 수 있다.

확장 JPEG 표준을 이용한 점진식 의료 영상 압축 (Extended JPEG Progressive Coding for Medical Image Archiving and Communication)

  • The international standard for digital compression and coding of continuous-tone still image known as JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) standard is investigated for medical image archiving and communication. The JPEG standard has widely been accepted in the areas of electronic image communication, computer graphics, and multimedia applications, however, due to the lossy character of the JPEG compression its application to the field of medical imaging has been limited. In this paper, the JPEG standard is investigated for medical image compression with a series of head sections of magnetic resonance (MR) images (256 and 4096 graylevels, $256 {\times}256$size). Two types of Huffman codes are employed, i. e., one is optimized to the image statistics to be encoded and the other is a predetermined code, and their coding efficiencies are examined. From experiments, compression ratios of higher than 15 were obtained for the MR images without noticeable distortion. Error signal in the reconstructed images by the JPEG standard appears close to random noise. Compared to existing full-frame bit-allocation technique used for radiological image compression, the JPEG standard achieves higher compression with less Gibb's artifact. Feature of the progressive image build-up of the JPEG progressive coding may be useful in remote diognosis when data is transmitted through slow public communication channel.

DCT를 이용한 영상압축 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A study of Image Compression Algorithm using DCT)

  • A Study of Image Compression Algorithm using DCT This paper describes the system that implement a JPEG(Joint Photographic Experts Group) algorithm based on DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) uslng CCD kameva, Image Grabber, and IBM PC. After cosine transforms the acquisited image, this algorithm quantize and entropy encode the coefficients by JPEG code table. The coefficients are reconstructed by the Huffman decoding, dequantized procedure, and Inverse cosine transform. The results obtained from the impleulented system are as follows. (1) For effcient storage and easy implementation, this system save Image as a PCX formal (2) Thls system get 7:1 compression ratio(3.8 RMSE value) without large distortion. (3) With a low pass filtering, thls system eliminate high frequency components and get 20% enhanced compression ratio. (4) Thls system enhance the reconstructed Image using histogram modeling.

Ductility enhancement of reinforced concrete thin walls

  • The ductility of reinforced concrete bearing walls subjected to high axial loading and moment can be enhanced by improving the deformability of the compression zone or by reducing the neutral axis depth. The current state-of-the-art procedure evaluating the confinement effect prompts a consideration of the spaces between the transverse and longitudinal reinforcing bars, and a provision of tie bars. At the same time, consideration must also be given to the thickness of the walls. However, such considerations indicate that the confinement effect cannot be expected with the current practice of detailing wall ends in Korea. As an alternative, a comprehensive method for dimensioning boundary elements is proposed so that the entire section of a boundary element can stay within the compression zone when the full flexural strength of the wall is developed. In this comprehensive method, the once predominant code approach for determining the compression zone has been advanced by considering the rectangular stress block parameters varying with the extreme compression fiber strain. Moreover, the size of boundary elements can also be determined in relation to the architectural requirement.

  • The object of this research is limited to the reduction of compression process noise only among the main sources of compressor noise such as motor noise, compression process noise, and valve port flow noise. Thus the research is focused on the wave motion rather than the particle motion of sound wave travels. A muffler is a commonly used device to reduce the compression process noise, generated by the pressure pulsations caused by the cyclic compression process. In this research, the acoustic characteristics of the muffler are analyzed by using the normal gradient integral equation proposed by Wu and Wan. Moreover, a commercial code SYSNOISE developed by indirect variational boundary integral equation is also used to validate the results. For the noise reduction, the topology optimization technique using a genetic algorithm is used. The number, size and position of the muffler holes are considered as design variables. Compared with original design, the optimized design has very improved acoustic characteristics. Both numerical and experimental analyses are used to evaluate new design.

이진 형태론의 Hybrid 형태소에 의한 압축 (Binary image compression with morphological hybrid structuring elements)

  • Original binary image can be reconstructed without any distortion by MS(morphological skeleton) image. Though we reduce some points in a MS image, there is no problem to reconstruct original image by it. And then, there are two methods of LMS and GMS which reduce the redundant points of a MS image. The redundancy degree of a GMS image is zero and it is less than that of LMS. And then, GMS image is the best thing of the three kinds of morphological skeleton image to enhance the compression efficienty by the Elias code. But there are continous SKF=1 points in a GMS image whenever using 2 dimensional structureing element. Those points in a GMS image gives rise to a bad compression efficiency. And then, solving this problem, this paper proposes hybrid structuring elements algorithms for binary image compression.
