동축선회 확산연소기의 1차 및 보조공기유량 변화에 따른 연소배출특성 (Combustion Characteristics in Various Primary and Auxiliary Air Flux Conditions at a Coaxial Swirling Diffusion Combustor)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the combustion emission characteristics changing auxiliary air injection in combustion field of coaxial swirling diffusion combustor. For this purpose, mean temperature, CO, CO2, O2 and HC concentration were measured by changing excess air ratio and auxiliary air injection. As a result of this study, mean temperature, CO2 emission were increased and CO emission decreased by increasing auxiliary air. Therefore, this paper showed the auxiliary air injection effected strongly on flame structure and combustion emission characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the flame structure and NOx emission characteristics of the swirl flow coaxial diffusion combustion in the model gas turbine combustor. The mean temperature, ion currents and NOx emission measurement technique showed the effect of equivalence ratio into flame length and flame stability. As a result of this study, NOx emission was increased by increasing the equivalence ratio, and the peak value of the NOx was appeared near the flame front.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the flame structure and combustion characteristics in the model gas turbine combustor changing equivalence ratio. For this purpose, temperature and ion current were measured and these data were analyzed by the PDF and power spectra technique. We found that the flame length is longer while increasing the equivalence ratio in experimental condition, and especially ${\psi}=0.19$, combustion reaction was active by the stable swirl flow. and these flames were governed by the random three dimensional eddy.

  • So most practical combustor is considered to the swirl flame, it is very important to examinate swirl flame structure and combustion characteristics. Recently, attention has been paid to the flame diagnostic by radical luminous intensity. For swirl flame structure and combustion characteristic, reverse flow boundary, temperature, ion current and radical luminous intensity were measured in the double-coaxial swirl combustor which was used principle of multi-annular combustor. This study had three experimental condition, S-type, C-type, SC-type. S-type and C-type flames were formed recirculation zone, but SC-type flame wasn't formed. C-type flame had two recirculation zone. The position with maximum value of ion current and CH-radical, temperature and OH-radical had similarity distribution almost. Therefore, it is possible that the macro structure of flame was measured by radical luminous intensity in the high intensity of turbulent combustion field which was formed by swirl.

  • 본 연구에서는 모델연소실 내부 메탄-산소 확산화염의 연소특성을 분석하기 위해 추진제의 다양한 분사조건에서 연소실험을 수행하여 연소안정한계 측정 및 화염의 형상변이를 관찰하였다. 연구 결과, 추진제가 이론당량비 조건으로 접근할수록 높은 산소 Reynolds 수($Re_o$) 구간에서도 안정적인 부상화염이 관찰되었으며, 가시화염의 길이는 증가하고, 부상높이는 감소하는 경향이 나타났다. 스월 동축형 인젝터에 의한 추진제의 스월효과로 인해 폭이 넓고, 길이가 짧은 화염이 생성되어 연소실 크기가 제한적인 추력기에서의 사용이 적합함을 확인하였다.

Syngas-순산소 확산화염의 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Combustion Characteristics of Syngas-Oxyfuel Diffusion Flames)

  • The characteristics of syngas-oxyfuel combustion has been investigated experimentally in the present study. Experimental measurements were conducted to aid a fundamental design of a syngas-oxyfuel combustor with a double coaxial burner configuration. To examine the effects of different syngas fuels on combustion characteristics, various fuel types are utilized such as commercial coal gases (Texaco, Shell), COG (cokes oven gas), and $CH_4$ as a main component of natural gas. $CO_2$ was added to the four fuel types as a diluent gas to reduce the flame temperature. The flame images and emission characteristics of NOx and CO were examined for various equivalence ratio and $CO_2$ dilution ratio. The results show that CO emission was rapidly increased as equivalence ratio approached the stoichiometry condition by reducing the amount of oxygen. As the $CO_2$ dilution increased, CO emission increased while NOx emission decreased due to reduced flame temperature. When the syngas-oxyfuel combustor is operated with 20~40% of $CO_2$ dilution ratio, the CO and NOx emission levels were kept below 50 ppm and 25 ppm, respectively, with a high concentration of $CO_2$ over 95 vol.% in exhaust gases.

반밀폐 연소공간 내 동축관 형상에 따른 DME-공기 확산화염의 안정화 특성 (Stabilization Characteristics of DME-Air Diffusion Flames Depending on the Configuration of the Fuel-Air Tubes in Half Closed Combustion Spaces)

  • The effects of configuration of fuel and air tubes on the flame stabilization were experimentally investigated in half-closed combustors. Flame behaviors and stabilities of methane, propane, and DME flames were compared by changing tube diameters and the locations of the fuel and air tubes. It was found that flammability limits are significantly affected by the outlet boundary condition, which disturbs compositions of burned and unburned mixtures near the flame base. And it was found that there exist critical inner tube heights, over which flame stability is determined only by the fuel flow rate. Conclusively, flame stabilization is governed by the flame propagation velocity in an ordinary mixing flow and the non-uniform mixture concentration in the combustion space which is affected by flow recirculation and the combustor configuration. The compositions of $NO_x$ and CO were compared to know basic characteristics of methane, propane, and DME flames.

촉매를 이용한 모형가스터빈 연소기의 배기후처리 시스템 (Emission After-Treatment System of Model Gas Turbine Using Catalyst)

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the purification characteristics of NOx, CO and HC in various catalysts and excess air ratio conditions. For this purpose, we installed various catalysts on the back stream of the coaxial diffusion burner with swirler. As the result, in the case of NOx, Pt-Rh catalyst shows very high value that is more than 90%-conversion efficiency without the relation with the excess air ratio. After excess air ratio of ${\alpha}=1.14$, it shows that the conversion efficiencies were more than 80% in the every Pt catalyst in the view of conversion of every exhaust with changing of the excess air ratio.

  • Recently, attention has been paid to the flame diagnostic by noncontact methods which dose not deform the flame shape. One of them is a method which is using the radical luminous intensity. Generally, this diagnostic method using radical luminous has been investigated its reliability by applying to laminar flame. This study, however, investigated each radical luminous signals through stocastical analysis like auto-correlation, cross-correlation, phase and coherence which were acquired from measuring radical luminous intensity of OH, CH, $O_{2}$, radicals in turbulent diffusion flame. To compare radical luminous intensity in flame with temperature, ion current and concentration , radious distribution of each properties was investigated and considered. In radical luminous intensity, correlation in the reaction zone of flame was higher than in correlation in combusted gas zone. And radious distribution of radical luminous intensity was corresponded with radious distribution of temperature, ion current and concentration. The result of the study confirms that a radical luminous flame diagnosis is possible in the turbulent diffusion flame.

연소실 내 동축형 2-유체 분무의 이론적 모델 (Theoretical Model of Coaxial Twin-Fluid Spray In a Liquid Rocket Combustor)

  • 액체로켓엔진에 사용되는 2-유체 동축형 분사기의 분무 연소 특성을 수치적으로 해석하였다. 가스 역학적 상호작용에 의한 미립화 및 그에 따른 물리 현상들에 대해 유동에 대한 보존방정식과 이론식들을 적용, 수치화하여 액체 제트의 상태, 제트의 속도, 제트의 붕괴길이, 액적의 크기등을 예측 하였으며, 액체제트 분사공 크기에 따른 미립화의 변화를 고찰하였다. 모델 검증을 위하여 액체 제트의 접촉길이와 액적의 크기를 기존의 실험결과와 비교하였으며, 그 결과 정성적으로 일치함을 나타내었다. 액체 제트의 접촉길이는 분사공의 직경이 증가할수록 짧아지고 액적의 크기도 분사공의 직경이 증가할수록 작아진다. 액체 제트는 박리율 증가에 따른 분무화에 의하여 단면적이 감소되며, 그에 따른 질량유속의 보존과 가스로부터의 운동량 화산에 따라 미립화가 활발해지는 영역으로부터 그 속도가 급속히 증가된다.
