Hard Coating Materials Using Copolymers of 2,5-dichlorobenzophenone and 1,4-dichlorobenzene

  • In this study, 2,5-dichlorobenzophenone was synthesized as a monomer using 1,4-dichlorbenzene, and subsequently, copolymers of benzoyl-p-phenylene and p-phenylene were prepared. The average molecular weight was improved using the low-molecular-weight polymer cutting method. The average molecular weight and glass transition temperature of the synthesized polymers were estimated. The as-prepared polymer was used as a hard coating material, and the coating was conducted on a poly(methyl methacrylate) plate. Furthermore, physical properties of the coatings, such as pencil hardness, adhesive strength, and abrasion resistance, were estimated. As the amount of p-phenylene in the copolymer increased, pencil hardness and abrasion resistance improved. The amount of p-phenylene in the copolymer can be increased to 30 mol% in order to increase the hardness of the coating, and the adhesive strength was insufficient for the copolymers with p-phenylene ratio greater than 35 mol%.

종자피복기의 피복통 회전속도가 피복종자의 물리적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Rotatory Speed of Coating Pan on the Physical Characteristics of Coated Seeds)

  • 본 실험은 표준화된 피복종자를 생산하기 위하여 피복통의 회전속도를 20, 30, 40, 45, 55, 60 rpm으로 하여 소형 피복통으로 레드클로버와 톨페스큐 종자를 피복하였다. 고형물질로는 vermiculite를 사용하였고 접착제는 polyvinyl alcohol을 사용하였다. 피복 후 통에서 회수된 단립 피복종자 무게, 서로 달라붙어 덩어리진 피복종자 무게, 피복되지 않고 회수된 미 피복물질 무게, 충격에 의한 피복층 탈락성 및 피복종자의 백립중 등을 조사하여 피복종자의 물리적 특성을 평가하였으며, 이 자료를 근거로 피복효과를 종합적으로 표현하는 피복지수를 산출하였다. 레드클로버 종자는 통의 회전속도 45 rpm에서 회수된 단립 종자 무게가 제일 높았으며(p<0.01), 덩어리진 종자 수가 적고 피복물질의 탈락율이 적었으며, 피복종자의 백립중도 가장 무거웠다. 톨페스큐 종자는 피복통 회전속도 40 rpm에서 회수된 단립 종자 무게가 제일 높았으며(p<0.01), 덩어리진 종자 수가 적고 피복물질의 탈락율이 적었으며, 피복종자의 백립중도 가장 무거웠다. 통의 회전속도별 피복지수는 레드클로버는 45 rpm에서(p<0.01), 톨페스큐는 40 rpm에서 제일 높았다(p<0.01). 피복통의 회전속도는 피복종자의 물리적 성질에 크게 영향을 미치기 때문에 종자피복 전에 종자나 피복제에 따른 피복통 회전속도의 표준화가 필수적이라 하겠다.

기능성 소화불량 환자에서 설태후박 및 흉늑각 측정의 진단적 가치 (Diagnostic Values of Tongue Coating Thickness and Sterno-costal Angle in Functional Dyspepsia)

  • Objectives : The aims of this study were to evaluate the diagnostic values of tongue coating thickness and sterno-costal angle as the quantitative diagnostic indicators in functional dyspepsia. Methods : We surveyed 60 functional dyspepsia patients recruited by the clinical trial, 'Clinical Trial for Evaluation on Availability of tongue diagnosis system (CTS-1000) : a Pilot study'. The patients were classified into three groups according to Rome III criteria for functional dyspepsia, and categorized into five groups according to Instrument of pattern identification for functional dyspepsia. Nepean dyspepsia index-Korean version (NDI-K) score, tongue coating thickness (percentage of tongue coating by tongue diagnosis system (CTS-1000), and weight of tongue coating by microbalance), sterno-costal angle, duration of illness and body mass index (BMI) were investigated. Results : Among the 5 types by instrument of pattern identification for functional dyspepsia, a significant difference of percentage of tongue coating was found. Percentage of tongue coating and weight of tongue coating showed significant correlation with total NDI-K score. Sterno-costal angle showed strong positive correlation with BMI and also showed significant difference between the non-overweight (BMI<23, n=32) and overweight ($BMI{\geq}23$, n=28) groups. Conclusions : Tongue coating thickness showed its potential as a new quantitative diagnostic indicator of functional dyspepsia. Further studies on the sterno-costal angle are anticipated to evaluate its potential as a new quantitative diagnostic indicator.

산화전분 코팅에 의한 골판지 상자의 물성 변화 (Effect of Coating of Liner Components with Oxidized Starch on Properties of Corrugated Box)

  • The effect of coating of liner components with oxidized starch on the properties of corrugated box was examined . Coating was carried out on liner components of B flute, single-wall corrugated board(SK180/S120/K200) , and corrugated box was made from the treated corrugated board. Box was made in a regular slotted container (RSC) style, and box compression strength was determined in the direction of top-to-bottom compression. The compression strength of box coated on outside liner component showed 15.4% improvement for 1.58g㎡ coating. On the other hand, the strength of box coated on outside liner component showed only 1.45% improvement for 1.41g/㎡ coating and 3.46% improvement for 2.32g/㎡ coating. Coating on inside liner component with oxidized starch at low coating weight more significantly improved box compression strength than coating on outside liner component, and the improvement was marked at the coating weight of 1.5-2.5g/㎡. In estimating top-to-bottom box compression strength, the experimental values were closer to the calculated values from McKee's equation suing edgewise compression strength of the combined board measured by column crush test than those from Kellicutt's equation using compression strength of component paperboards measured by ring crush test.

고주파 연소합성 코팅된 Ni-Al계 금속간화합물의 미끄럼 마모 특성에 미치는 볼 밀링의 영향 (Effects of Ball Milling on Sliding Wear Behavior of Ni-Al Intermetallics Coated on Mild Steel through Induction Heating Process)

  • Ball-milling for reactant powders in advance and using an induction heating system for Ni-Al intermetallic coating process are known to enhance the reactivity of combustion synthesis. In this work, the effects of the charging weight ratio of ball to powder in ball-milling for reactant Ni-Al powders and the synthesizing temperature in induction heating on sliding wear behavior of the coating layers are investigated. Sliding wear behavior of the coating layers is examined against a tool steel using a pin-on-disc type sliding wear machine. As results, wear of the coating layer ball-milled without ball was severely worn out at the sliding speed of 2m/s, regardless of the synthesizing temperature in induction heating. However, the wear rate of the coating layers at the sliding speed was remarkably decreased with increasing the charging weight ratio of ball in ball-milling for reactant powders. This can be explained by the fact that the void in the coating layer is disappeared and the coating layer is densified by the ball-milling. The evidence showed that pitting damages were disappeared on the worn surface of ball-milled coating layer. Consequentially, the Ni-Al intermetallic coating layer could have better wear resistance at all sliding speed ranges with the ball-milling for reactant powders in advance.

산화전분 코팅이 골판지 원지의 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Coatings of Oxidized Starch on Properties of Linerboard)

  • 산화전분을 골판지 구성원지인 표면라이너지와 이면라이너지에 각각 코팅하고 물성변화를 조사하였다. 산화전분 코팅에 의해 골판지 믈성과 관련된 각 라이너지의 물성이 개선되었고 링 크러시 강도의 경우 표면라이너지보다 이면라이너지에서 개선의 효과가 더욱 컸으며 도공하지 않은 경우에 비해 최대 19.7%의 증가를 보였다. 비교적 낮은 도공량으로도 파열지수는 증가하였으며 일정 수준의 도공량 이상에서는 더 이상 증가하지 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 파열강도가 증가함에 따라 링 크러시 강도도 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 표면라이너지, 이면라이너지 각각 1.41g/$m^2$, 1.58g/$m^2$의 도공량에 이를 때까지 TEA는 크게 증가하였으며 인장강도가 증가함에 따라 링 크러시 강도도 대체적으로 증가되었다. 낮은 도공량에서 stiffness가 증가하였으며 도공처리로 라이너지의 투기도는 감소하였지만 원지 간 결합에 장애를 일으킬 만큼의 염려는 없을 것으로 판단되었다.

뽕잎추출액코팅농도에 따른 뽕잎쌀밥의 품질에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Characteristic of Cooked Rice According to the Different Coating Ratio of Mulberry Leaves Extracts)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the optimum coating ratio for rice, using various ratios of mulberry leaves extract, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0%, and to determine the optimum ratio of added water, in proportion to the total weight of mulberry rice. The moisture content of the soaked rice, and the optimum water uptake rate, moisture content of the cooked rice, as well as its blue and color values, mechanical characteristics, internal structure and sensory evaluation, were analyzed. The statistical data analyses were completed using the SAS program. The results are summarized as follows: The moisture content of mulberry rice was less than that of raw rice. The average optimum water uptake of the soaked mulberry rice at the different water temperatures, 10, 20 and 30, was 20% of the total weight of the raw mulberry rice. As for the results of the sensory evaluation,; 140% water, in proportion to the total weight of raw mulberry rice, was judged to be the optimum. The average moisture content of the cooked mulberry rice was 45∼50%, but there was no significant difference in the various coating ratios. The blue value of the cooked mulberry rice awas highest on the first day of cooking. The L- and a-values decreased with increasing coating ratio, but the b-value increased under the same conditions. As for the mechanical characteristics,; the adhesiveness, hardness and springiness decreased during 2 days of storage. The internal structure of the mulberry rice, observed by SEM, showed a close structure on increasing the coating ratios of mulberry leaves extracts. It was concluded that the optimum coating ratio of mulberry rice and ratio of added water for cooking wereas 1.5 and 140%, respectively, in proportion to the total weight of raw mulberry rice.

해양환경 중에서 Ni-Cr 용사피복재의 침식-부식 억제에 관한 연구 (Study on the Control of the Erosion-Corrosion for Ni-Cr Alloy Sprayed Coating in the Marine Environment)

  • Thermal sprayed Ni-Cr alloy coating on the carbon steel was carried out erosion-corrosion test and electrochemical corrosion test in the marine environment. The erosion-corrosion behavior and electrochemical corrosion characteristics of substrate(SS400) and thermal sprayed Ni-Cr coating was investigated. The erosion-corrosion control efficiency of Ni-Cr coating to substrate was also estimated quantitatively. The main results obtained are as follows : 1) The weight loss rate of Ni-Cr coating layer by the erosion-corrosion compared with substrate was smaller. With the lapse of time, the weight loss rate of substrate was linearly increased in $25{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ solution, but that of Ni-Cr coating became stable. 2) The corrosion potential of substrate became less noble than that of Ni-Cr coating layer, and the corrosion current density of Ni-Cr coating became lower than that of substrate. 3) The control efficiency of erosion-corrosion of Ni-Cr coating compared to substrate became more dull than that of corrosion in $25{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and $5000{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ solution.

찹쌀떡의 보존기간 연장을 위한 대두단백질 코팅제의 특성 (Extending Shelf-life of Rice Cake Using Coating Agent Containing Soy Protein Isolate)

  • The objective of this study is to determine the effect of soy protein isolate (SPI) film coating on the color, firmness, viscosity and weight loss of Rice Cake stored at 15, 20 and $25^{\circ}C$ (RH 50%) for 30 days. Raw materials mixed with SPI and cocoa powder (10:0, 7:3, 5:5, 3:7, w/w) were prepared. After adding sugar and shortening to raw materials, the mixture were refined to 25 micron of particle size. Coating of Rice Cake were carried out at $65^{\circ}C$. SPI coated Rice Cake had higher internal and external firmness comparing to the control at $25^{\circ}C$. SPI coated Rice Cake showed smooth surface morphology and had 0.71-1.01 mm of thickness. SPI coated Rice Cake showed less weight loss for 30 days compared to controls. SPI coating solution was successfully coated on Rice Cake and extended shelf-life over 15 days at room temperature.

  • 사과를 당저림과 넥타 겔로 가공한 후 피막제를 처리하여 저장 조건에 따른 중량 감소율을 측정하고 갈변 현상, 곰팡이의 발생을 실험하여 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 인체에 무해하고 중량 감소, 갈변, 곰팡이 발생을 억제하는 피막제의 구성은 sucrose, D-sorbitol, corn syrup, gelatin, arabia gum, citric acid, sodium citrate, sodium ascorbate가 효과적이었다. 2. 사과 당저림은 피막제 처리한 것을 포장하여 냉장고에서 저장하는 방법이 가장 효과적이었다. 3. 사과 넥타 겔은 피막제 처리한 것을 이중(二重) 포장하여 냉동하는 것이 중량 감소에 의한 수축, 갈변 현상, 곰팡이의 발생을 억제하였다.
