Land Use Changes (LUCs) have effects on greenhouse gas emissions and carbon stocks in soil and vegetation. Therefore, predictions for LUC are very important for achieving quantitative targets of $CO_2$ reduction rates. Some research exists on carbon fluxes and carbon cycles to estimate carbon stocks in terrestrial ecosystems in Korea. However, these researches have limitations in terms of helping us understand future potential reductions of $CO_2$ that reflect the influence of LUC. The aim of this study is to analyze the reduction levels of $CO_2$ emissions while considering LUC scenarios that effect carbon fluxes for LCS basic study in the year 2030. In this study, a common approach to model the effects of LUC on carbon stocks is the use of CA-Markov technical process with LUC patterns in the past. Potential reduction of $CO_2$ is calculated by change of land use that contains different soil organic carbon, each land use type, and biomass in vegetation. An IPCC analytical method of natural carbon sink and coefficient results from previous study in Korea is used as a calculation method for potential reduction of $CO_2$. As a result, 12,419 KtC will be reduced annually, which is 8.3% percent of 2005 $CO_2$ emissions in Korea. This will result in 3,226 hundred million won of economic efficiency. In conclusion, conservation of natural carbon sinks is necessary even if the amount of potential reduction change is little.
This paper proposes an improved vascular pattern extraction algorithm for person verification applications. The proposed direction-based vascular pattern extraction (DBVPE) algorithm is based on the directional information of vascular patterns. It applies two different filters to the input images: row vascular pattern extraction filter (RVPEF) for effective extraction of the abscissa vascular patterns and column vascular pattern extraction filter (CVPEF) for effective extraction of the ordinate vascular patterns. We use the combined output of both filters to obtain the final hand vascular patterns. Unlike the conventional hand vascular pattern extraction algorithm, the directional extraction approach prevents loss of the vascular pattern connectivity. To validate the DBVPE algorithm, we used a prototype system with a DSP processor. The prototype system shows approximately a three-times better false acceptance rate (FAR) than the conventional single filter algorithm.
Many XML applications use XPath Patterns as a query language for XML documents. Two XPath patterns may have containment relationship, and the containment problem between two XPath patterns is a problem that determines whether one XPath pattern contains another XPath Pattern. Although the containment problem occurs in many applications, it is known as a co-NP complete. A homomorphism problem, which is a sufficient condition for the containment problem, is solved in polynomial time. We first discuss applications that replace the containment problem with the homomorphism problem, and maintaining homomorphism information among XPath patterns will benefit those applications. Then, we propose a lattice structure, called POX (Partially Ordered Set of XPath Patterns), and develop algorithms for maintaining it. As our analyses show, the algorithms can efficiently maintain POX in polynomial time.

Understanding how the filamentary structure affects the formation of the prestellar cores and stars is a key issue to challenge. We use the Heterodyne Array Receiver Program (HARP) of the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT) to obtain molecular line mapping data for two prestellar cores in different environment, L1544 in filamentary cloud and L694-2 in a small cloud isolated. Observing lines are $^{13}CO$ and $C^{18}O$ (3-2) line to find possible flow motions along the filament, $^{12}CO$ (3-2) to search for any radial accretion (or infalling motions) toward the cores of gas material from their surrounding regions, and $HCO^+$ (4-3) lines to find at which density and which region in the core gases start to be in gravitational collapse. In the 1st moment maps of $^{13}CO$ and $C^{18}O$, velocity gradient patterns implying the flow of material were found at the cores and its surrounding filamentary clouds. The infall asymmetry patterns of HCO+ and $^{13}CO$ line profiles were detected to be good enough to analyze the infalling motions toward the cores. We will report further analysis results on core formation in the filamentary cloud at this meeting.
In this paper, we introduce data mining techniques for short-term load forecasting (STLF). First, we use the K-mean algorithm to classify historical load data by season into four patterns. Second, we use the k-NN algorithm to divide the classified data into four patterns for Mondays, other weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The classified data are used to develop a time series forecasting model. We then forecast the hourly load on weekdays and weekends, excluding special holidays. The historical load data are used as inputs for load forecasting. We compare our results with the KEPCO hourly record for 2008 and conclude that our approach is effective.
In the recommendation system of the credit card company, it is necessary to understand the customer patterns to predict a customer's next merchant based on their histories. The data we want to model is much more complex and there are various patterns that customers choose. In such a situation, it is necessary to use an effective model that not only shows the relevance of the merchants, but also the relevance of the customers relative to these merchants. The proposed model aims to predict the next merchant for the customer. To improve prediction performance, we propose a novel model, called Customer-based Recommendation Model (CRM), to produce a more efficient representation of customers. For the next merchant recommendation system, we use a synthetic credit card usage dataset, BC'17. To demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model, we also apply it to the next item recommendation with another real-world transaction dataset, IJCAI'16.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the patterns of Over-the-Counter (OTC) drugs and their interactions with prescription drugs in adults visiting a community pharmacy. Method: The subjects were 151 adults aged over 20 years visiting a community pharmacy in Asan-si from December 16th 2011 to February 1st 2012. We used a survey questionnaire. The survey inquired about the prevalence and the details of any OTC drug use and the characteristics of the study subjects. The drug interaction classification system from Lexicomp's Lexi-interact data fields was used to identify OTC drugs likely to have clinically significant interactions with prescription drugs. Results: The patterns of OTC drug use were related to thirties (from 30 to 40 years old), female gender, higher education, non-smoking, sometimes use of alcohol, and self-perceived normal health status. The most commonly used OTC drug category was antipyretic-analgesics (n=104, 53.3%), and the most commonly used ingredient was acetaminophen (n=67, 64.4%). The biggest motivation for taking OTC drugs was suggestion by pharmacists, reported by 55.6%. After reviewing each patient's prescription drugs and OTC drugs, 14 patients (36.8%) of 38 patients using prescription drugs were taking drug combinations with potential for clinically significant interactions. The concomitant use of OTC drugs with prescription drugs may lead to increased potentially harmful interactions. Conclusion: It is suggested that health-care professionals should be more aware of the potential and possible interactions and take into better account their patients' OTC drug use.
This study was conducted to serve as the basis for establishing a standard cultivation, which enhances the alternative utilization of pig manure, a major cause of environmental pollution, by finding a means for reducing greenhouse gas emissions for eco-friendly cultivation. In a laboratory, $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ emission patterns were investigated corresponding to incremental pig manure treatments in paddy soil. The emissions peaked 12 to 27 days after manure application in the 100~400% applications. It was found that increasing applications of pig manure resulted an increase in $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ emissions. Additionally, application of more than 150% emitted a larger amount of these gasses than applying chemical fertilizer. However, the test application of 100% pig manure emitted a smaller amount of $CH_4$ and hence Global Warming Potential (GWP) than those emitted by chemical fertilizer. If appropriate amount of fertilization is applied in compliance with the standard application rate, the pig manure may be effective in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the soil environment made more favorable than with the use of chemical fertilizer.
This study presents optimizing structural topology patterns using regularization of Heaviside function. The present method needs not filtering process to typical SIMP method. Using the penalty formulation of the SIMP approach, a topology optimization problem is formulated in co-operation, i.e., couple-signals, with design variable values of discrete elements and a regularized Heaviside step function. The regularization of discontinuous material distributions is a key scheme in order to improve the numerical problems of material topology optimization with 0 (void)-1 (solid) solutions. The weak forms of an equilibrium equation are expressed using a coupled regularized Heaviside function to evaluate sensitivity analysis. Numerical results show that the incorporation of the regularized Heaviside function and the SIMP leads to convergent solutions. This method is tested using several examples of a linear elastostatic structure. It demonstrates that improved optimal solutions can be obtained without the additional use of sensitivity filtering to improve the discontinuous 0-1 solutions, which have generally been used in material topology optimization problems.
The Shirts Blouse was produced through the process of shirts Blouse pattern making by utilizing CAD System developed by PAD Sys-tem Techologies Co. Ltd that is suitable to educational use or industrial use. The purpose of this study was to provide the basic data for the development of efficient and various design patterns by applying this pro-cess to the actual business of apparel making. The results were as follows: 1. The applicable range of CAD system 1) The repeated work can be avoided by thansforming and developing the basic pattern stored and the storage and remodification were easy. 2) The deletion duplication movement and copy of all points and lines in the pattern can be made freely and measurement of all lengths and angles the attachment of two patterns were possible. 3) The grading Library of the basic pattern was applied as it was and the time was curtailed by adding only several grading points with the change of design. 2. The problem in the use of the CAD System 1) Through the input of basic pattern by the digitizer the minute size difference was generated as each point on the curve came to be designated. 3) In grading the line of neck girth there was inconveniences to go to the plan view in order find out deviation.
