Analysis of Motor-Current Spectrum for Fault Diagnosis of Induction Motor Bearing in Desulfurization Absorber (탈황 흡수탑 유도전동기 베어링 결함 진단을 위한 전류 스펙트럼 해석)

  • According to a research that is based on a previous study, But in a different way, This study shows fault diagnosis of Induction motor bearing which runs in coal-fired power plant industries on Desulfurization absorber agitator using Spectrum analysis of Stator Current and visual inspection. As a result of harmonic content analysis of stator current spectrum, It was possible to detect ball and outer race fault frequency. The comparison in the context of this experiment proves that the amplitude of faulty frequency is increased in three times at a fault in ball and in outer race. Spectrum analysis of stator current can be used to detect the presence of a fault condition as well as experiment in faulty bearings, besides early fault detection in bearings can prevent unexpected power generation loss and emergency maintenance cost.

  • Definition-Enhancement of the digitalized image has been being made researches continuously due to application a camera to a mobile-apparatus and the advent of a digital camera. In particular, the inputted image from a sensor goes through the process of ISP(Image Signal Process) prior to output as a visual image. The high-frequency components are offset by LPF(Low Pass Filter) that eliminates the noise of high spatial-frequency at the moment. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that outputs more vivid image by using adaptive-HPF(High Pass Filter) that has apt coefficients for diverse conditions of an image edge, nevertheless we do not employ any Edge-Detection algorithm to enhance a blurred image.

  • Microsatellites or simple sequence repeats (SSR) are widely distributed in eukaryotic genomes and are informative genetic markers. Despite many advantages of SSR markers such as a high degree of allelic polymorphisms, co-dominant inheritance, multi-allelism, and genome-wide coverage in various plant species, they also have shortcomings such as low polymorphic rates between genetically close lines, especially in Capsicum annuum. We developed an alternative technique to SSR by normalizing and alternating anchored primers in random amplified microsatellite polymorphisms (RAMP). This technique, designated reverse random amplified microsatellite polymorphism (rRAMP), allows the detection of nucleotide variation in the 3' region flanking an SSR using normalized anchored and random primer combinations. The reproducibility and frequency of polymorphic loci in rRAMP was vigorously enhanced by translocation of the 5' anchor of repeat sequences to the 3' end position and selective use of moderate arbitrary primers. In our study, the PCR banding pattern of rRAMP was highly dependent on the frequency of repeat motifs and primer combinations with random primers. Linkage analysis showed that rRAMP markers were well scattered on an intra-specific pepper map. Based on these results, we suggest that this technique is useful for studying genetic diversity, molecular fingerprinting, and rapidly constructing molecular maps for diverse plant species.

  • Today, high-rise buildings expected to meet various needs and improve the quality of frequency of fire and the potential risks are increasing. In particular, the fire spread risk in the vertical direction is increasing. As a result there is a problem with delays in the evacuation time of occupants. To overcome this problem, there is a need to consider the structure of the building and develop a system for the early detection of fire by applying a fire alarm system according to the risk ranking. Therefore, this paper describes the vertical fire spread characteristics of a multistory double-skin and stairs structure with risk. The data were compared with that from the national and international fire alarms as well as with. smoke density, smoke detectors, visibility, and CO concentration using FDS. A fire alarm system for each structure is proposed.

Survey on Fusarium Mycotoxin Contamination in Oat, Sorghum, Adlay, and Proso Millet during the Harvest Season in Korea (귀리, 수수, 율무, 기장의 수확기에 발생하는 Fusarium 곰팡이독소 오염도 조사)

  • A total of 244 cereal samples (oat, sorghum, adlay, and proso millet) were collected from fields to examine the contamination of Fusarium mycotoxins in cereals during harvest season in 2017 and 2018. The contamination levels of deoxynivalenol (DON), nivalenol (NIV), and zearalenone (ZEA) were analyzed individually by using the immunoaffinity column clean-up method with ultra performance liquid chromatography, and fumonisins (FUM) were analyzed by using the QuEChERS method with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Highest level of NIV contamination (120.0-3277.0 mg/kg) was observed in oat samples among the analyzed cereals. In the adlay samples, DON contamination was the highest (maximum level 730.0 ㎍/kg). The proso millet samples had a high frequency of detection of NIV and ZEA (61.5% and 57.9%, respectively), but the levels were low (average detection level of NIV, 75.6 ㎍/kg, for ZEA, 21.5 ㎍/kg). Among the cereal samples, sorghum had the highest contamination frequency of DON, ZEA, and FUM, and the co-occurrence of Fusarium mycotoxin was 70.0%, which was higher than the average of 29.9%. In order to safely manage Fusarium mycotoxin levels in cereals, continuous research on the development of contamination prevention technologies together with monitoring of mycotoxin contamination is needed.

GPR Development for Landmine Detection (지뢰탐지를 위한 GPR 시스템의 개발)

  • Under the research project supported by Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), we have conducted the development of GPR systems for landmine detection. Until 2005, we have finished development of two prototype GPR systems, namely ALIS (Advanced Landmine Imaging System) and SAR-GPR (Synthetic Aperture Radar-Ground Penetrating Radar). ALIS is a novel landmine detection sensor system combined with a metal detector and GPR. This is a hand-held equipment, which has a sensor position tracking system, and can visualize the sensor output in real time. In order to achieve the sensor tracking system, ALIS needs only one CCD camera attached on the sensor handle. The CCD image is superimposed with the GPR and metal detector signal, and the detection and identification of buried targets is quite easy and reliable. Field evaluation test of ALIS was conducted in December 2004 in Afghanistan, and we demonstrated that it can detect buried antipersonnel landmines, and can also discriminate metal fragments from landmines. SAR-GPR (Synthetic Aperture Radar-Ground Penetrating Radar) is a machine mounted sensor system composed of B GPR and a metal detector. The GPR employs an array antenna for advanced signal processing for better subsurface imaging. SAR-GPR combined with synthetic aperture radar algorithm, can suppress clutter and can image buried objects in strongly inhomogeneous material. SAR-GPR is a stepped frequency radar system, whose RF component is a newly developed compact vector network analyzers. The size of the system is 30cm x 30cm x 30 cm, composed from six Vivaldi antennas and three vector network analyzers. The weight of the system is 17 kg, and it can be mounted on a robotic arm on a small unmanned vehicle. The field test of this system was carried out in March 2005 in Japan.

The Application of Octa-Substituted Metallophthalocyanine Langmuir-Blodgett films for $NO_2$ Measurement (수정진동자를 이용한 프탈로시아닌 LB박막의 $NO_2$ 감지 특성)

  • Multilayer Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films coated on quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) of octa-substituted metallophhtalocyanines ($MPc(OEH)_8$, M = Cu, Co, and Sn) and dihydrogen phthalocyanines ($H_2Pc(OEH)_8$) were used to quantify $NO_2$ concentrations. They were exposed to various concentrations of $NO_2$ in dry $N_2$. Among the four phthalocyanines we tested, the metal-free $H_2Pc(OEH)_8$ was observed to be most sensitive to $NO_2$. However, its LB film showed a partially irreversible behavior, that is part of the frequency change due to $NO_2$ adsorption could not be recovered even after purging with pure $N_2$ gas for an extended period. Examining the spectra of NMR and FTIR revealed fact that the irreversible portion of frequency change was due to ether groups in the linkage between side chains and the Pc unit. In order to remove the effect of such initial deactivation, on $NO_2$ quantification experiment, a freshly fabricated LB film was treated at a high concentration of $NO_2$ so that the ether sites were saturated. A pretreated LB film showed a reproducible performance for repeated uses. The $CuPc(OEH)_8$ LB film showed a satisfactory sensing performance down to as low as 4 ppm. For the $H_2Pc(OEH)_8$ LB film, the lower detection limit was found to be 35ppb of $NO_2$. In order to make the experimental condition more realistic, the carrier gas, dry nitrogen, was replaced by air. It was observed that the presence of oxygen, a weak electron acceptor, reduced the sensitivity and thus increased the sensing limit to hundreds of ppb. Results of experiments with moisture added showed that the interference of moisture was quite severe.

A Study for Co-channel Interference Cancelation Algorithm with Channel Estimation for WBAN System Application (WBAN 환경에서 채널 추정 기반의 공용 채널 간섭 제거 기술)

  • In this paper, we analyze and compare several co-channel interference mitigation algorithms for WBAN application in 2.4 GHz ISM frequency bands. ML (Maximum Likelihood), OC (Optimal Combining) and MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) has been considered for the possible techniques for interference cancellation in view of the trade off between the performance and the complexity of implementation. Based on the channel model of IEEE 802.15.6 standard, simulation results show that ML and OC attains the lower BER performance than that of MMSE if we assume the perfect channel estimation. But, ML and OC have the additional requirement of implementation for his own and other users's channel estimation process, hence, besides the BER performance, the complexity of implementation and the sensitivity to channel estimation error should be considered since it requires the simple and small sized equipment for WBAN system application. In addition, the gap of detection BER performance between ML, OC and MMSE is much decreased under the imperfect channel estimation if we adopt real channel estimation process, therefore, in order to apply to WBAN system, the trade off between the BER performance and complexity of implemetation should be seriously considered to decide the best co-channel interference cancellation for WBAN system application.

Analysis of Patients with Acute Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in one Hospital (일개 병원에서의 일산화탄소 중독증으로 내원한 환자에 대한 분석)

  • Purpose: The frequency of carbon monoxide poisoning has been decreased in the interior of the Korea. But occasionally it is occurred and the risk of exposure is high in working place so far. Because of the characteristics of gas, the detection of exposure and poisoning could be delayed and fatality is high. We should apprehend of carbon monoxide poisoning. So we would report analysis of patients with carbon monoxide poisoning. Methods: A retrospective review of CO poisoned patients visited emergency department from January 2000 to December 2004 was conducted. Results: 24 patients were enrolled. Their average of age was $37.6\pm20.9$ years old and COHb was $19.4\pm13.32\%$. The blood level of initial COHb and mental status on arrival were not correlated each other. The blood level of initial COHb and loss of consciousness were not correlated, too. Initial electrocardiography (EKG) was not correlated with cardiac enzymes such as CK-MB and troponin I. But base excess was correlated with mental status on arrival and complication such as rhabdomyolysis. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy was correlated with base excess and mental status on arrival. Conclusion: The clinical features of carbon monoxide poisoning are nonspecific. For proper diagnosis, it is important that we should consider patient's environment and take patient's history carefully. The blood level of initial COHb does not reflect severity of poisoning accurately. So We should determine the treatment of choice depending on patient's status.

An Inductance Voltage Vector Control Strategy and Stability Study Based on Proportional Resonant Regulators under the Stationary αβ Frame for PWM Converters

  • The mathematical model of a three phase PWM converter under the stationary αβ reference frame is deduced and constructed based on a Proportional-Resonant (PR) regulator, which can replace trigonometric function calculation, Park transformation, real-time detection of a Phase Locked Loop and feed-forward decoupling with the proposed accurate calculation of the inductance voltage vector. To avoid the parallel resonance of the LCL topology, the active damping method of the proportional capacitor-current feedback is employed. As to current vector error elimination, an optimized PR controller of the inner current loop is proposed with the zero-pole matching (ZPM) and cancellation method to configure the regulator. The impacts on system's characteristics and stability margin caused by the PR controller and control parameter variations in the inner-current loop are analyzed, and the correlations among active damping feedback coefficient, sampling and transport delay, and system robustness have been established. An equivalent model of the inner current loop is studied via the pole-zero locus along with the pole placement method and frequency response characteristics. Then, the parameter values of the control system are chosen according to their decisive roles and performance indicators. Finally, simulation and experimental results obtained while adopting the proposed method illustrated its feasibility and effectiveness, and the inner current loop achieved zero static error tracking with a good dynamic response and steady-state performance.
