A Cooperation System Supporting Web-based Asynchronous/Synchronous Social Activities (웹 기반 비동기/동기 사회활동을 지원하는 협력 시스템)

  • In this paper, we classify web-based social network into two types: open and community, and model user behavior in social activities. After that, we also propose the combination of instant messaging and web system as the method of support asynchronous/synchronous social activities. Furthermore, we introduce ImCoWeb prototype system that supports both asynchronous social activities (ex. social bookmark, comment, rate, and data share) and synchronous ones (ex. real-time communication, file transfer, co-browsing, and co-work). Because it is built on the existing instant messaging, it reduces costs by reusing the facilities such as session management, user management, and security of instant messaging.

  • Many visualization tools have been designed to aid information processing during whole genome projects. We have developed a trace viewer program, ChroView, which can read a chromatogram file and display the chromatogram traces of the four bases. The program can be used to examine sequencing quality and base-calling errors. It can also help researchers to edit and save base-calling results while browsing the traces. Additionally, this program has a basecalling feature which can produce supplementary data for validation of the results from other base-calling programs.

  • 인터넷의 보급과 발전으로 그 동안 지리적인 한계로 인해 불가능했던 협력작업이 인터넷 가상공간에서 가능하게 되었다. 그 동안 이메일, 전자게시판, FTP와 같은 정적인 형태의 협력작업에 관한 연구에서 웹을 이용한 동적인 협력작업에 관한 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 최근에는 웹을 이용한 다양한 협력 기능이 요구되면서 공동 브라우징 (Co-browsing)과 같은 단순한 웹 협력이상의 다양한 협력작업을 만족시킬 수 있는 실시간 웹 협력 (Synchronous Web-Collaboration) 시스템 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 웹 협력 시스템 구축에 필요한 시스템 구성요소와 설계 방법을 소개하고 비즈니스 특성을 고려한 실시간 웹 협력 시스템 구축 모델을 제시한다.

Improved Tag Selection for Tag-cloud using the Dynamic Characteristics of Tag Co-occurrence (태그 동시 출현의 동적인 특징을 이용한 개선된 태그 클라우드의 태그 선택 방법)

  • Tagging system is the system that allows internet users to assign new meta-data which is called tag to article, photo, video and etc. for facilitating searching and browsing of web contents. Tag cloud, a visual interface is widely used for browsing tag space. Tag cloud selects the tags with the highest frequency and presents them alphabetically with font size reflecting their popularity. However the conventional tag selection method includes known weaknesses. So, we propose a novel tag selection method Freshness, which helps to find fresh web contents. Freshness is the mean value of Kullback-Leibler divergences between each consecutive change of tag co-occurrence probability distribution. We collected tag data from three web sites, Allblog, Eolin and Technorati and constructed the system, 'Fresh Tag Cloud' which collects tag data and creates our tag cloud. Comparing the experimental results between Fresh Tag Cloud and the conventional one with data from Allblog, our one shows 87.5% less overlapping average, which means Fresh Tag Cloud outperforms the conventional tag cloud.

  • 인터넷의 발전으로 단순한 co-browsing을 넘어선 다기능 협업시스템이 필요하게 되었다. 이러한 점에서 웹 저작 도구인 위키 시스템은 연구원들 간의 능동적이고 적극적인 정보교환을 위한 효과적인 시스템이다. 하지만 정보량이 증가함에 따라 공통된 주제의 문서가 다중 생성됨으로써 정보 공유의 힘이 분산되는 문제점을 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 파서(parser), 문서분류 시스템, 유사성측정 시스템으로 구성된 협업문서 생성제어 시스템을 제안한다. 결과적으로 협업문서 생성제어 시스템은 협업문서 생성을 제어함으로써 각 분야의 전문가들의 원활한 정보 공유와 지식창출을 효과적으로 할 수 있다.

  • 현재 컴퓨터 시스템에서 대표적인 성능 저하가 발생되는 부분은 블록 I/O 시스템이다. 안드로이드와 같은 모바일 장치 또한 위와 같은 성능 이슈를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 리눅스 블록 레이어의 I/O를 tracing 해주는 blktrace를 안드로이드 장치에 적용하여 SQLite를 사용하는 Web Browsing 시의 I/O 패턴 분석과 성능 개선 방안을 제시 한다.

Internet-based Information System for Agricultural Weather and Disease and Insect fast management for rice growers in Gyeonggi-do, Korea

  • The Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services has developed a web-site (www.epilove.com) in collaboration with EPINET to provide information on agricultural weather and rice disease and insect pest management in Gyeonggi-do. Weather information includes near real-time weather data monitored by automated weather stations (AWS) installed at rice paddy fields of 11 Agricultural Technology Centers (ATC) in Gyeonggi-do, and weekly weather forecast by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). Map images of hourly air temperature and rainfall are also generated at 309m x 309m resolution using hourly data obtained from AWS installed at 191 locations by KMA. Based on near real-time weather data from 11 ATC, hourly infection risks of rice blast, sheath blight, and bacterial grain rot for individual districts are estimated by disease forecasting models, BLAST, SHBLIGHT, and GRAINROT. Users can diagnose various diseases and insects of rice and find their information in detail by browsing thumbnail images of them. A database on agrochemicals is linked to the system for disease and insect diagnosis to help users search for appropriate agrochemicals to control diseases and insect pests.

  • Recently, there are requires for auction system by growing up internet. This paper says if the customers add wonted goods to wanted list, the system automatically announce information to the customer via Inter Web browsing, whenever the proper goods to register to the auction system by seller. The system provides registration customer information, registration goods, wanted goods. And the application program can be downloaded from the Web System. Especially, this paper provides us very convenience check up service using the mobile phone, we can check our wanted goods or auction lists without regarding to place or time, we can alse purchase the goods more rapidly and easily.

  • Toxicogenomics is now emerging as one of the most important genomics application because the toxicity test based on gene expression profiles is expected more precise and efficient than current histopathological approach in pre-clinical phase. One of the challenging points in Toxicogenomics is the construction of intelligent database management system which can deal with very heterogeneous and complex data from many different experimental and information sources. Here we present a new Toxicogenomics database developed as a part of 'Toxicogenomics for Efficient Safety Test (TEST) project'. The TEST database is especially focused on the connectivity of heterogeneous data and intelligent query system which enables users to get inspiration from the complex data sets. The database deals with four kinds of information; compound information, histopathological information, gene expression information, and annotation information. Currently, TEST database has Toxicogenomics information fer 12 molecules with 4 efficacy classes; anti cancer, antibiotic, hypotension, and gastric ulcer. Users can easily access all kinds of detailed information about there compounds and simultaneously, users can also check the confidence of retrieved information by browsing the quality of experimental data and toxicity grade of gene generated from our toxicology annotation system. Intelligent query system is designed for multiple comparisons of experimental data because the comparison of experimental data according to histopathological toxicity, compounds, efficacy, and individual variation is crucial to find common genetic characteristics .Our presented system can be a good information source for the study of toxicology mechanism in the genome-wide level and also can be utilized fur the design of toxicity test chip.
