Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Tb계 바리스터의 전기적 특성 및 안정성에 소결온도가 미치는 영향 (Effect of Sintering Temperature on Electrical Properties and Stability of Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Tb-Based Varistors)

  • The electrical properties and its stability of Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Tb-based varistors were investigated for different sintering temperatures. As the sintering temperatures increased, the varistor voltage decreased in the range of $705.2{\sim}299.1$ V/mm, the nonlinear coefficient decreased in the range of $42.4{\sim}31.7$, and the leakage current was in the range of $1.0{\sim}1.7\;{\mu}A$. The stability of electrical characteristics increased with the increase of sintering temperature. The varistors sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ marked the high electrical stability, with $%\Delta$ $V_{1mA}=+0.1%,\;%\Delta{\alpha}=+3.2%$, and $%{\Delta}I_L=+117.6%$ for DC accelerated aging stress state of $0.95V_{1mA}/150^{\circ}C/24\;h$.

  • This paper describes the experimental results on direct selective laser sintering of WC-Co mixture for rapid tooling. The experiments were carried out within an air, argon and nitrogen atmosphere. Coupons of single layer were sintered at various laser powers, scanning speeds and scan spacings. As the energy density (energy per unit scanned area) is increased, the thickness of coupons is increased. The main problem took place during sintering within an air atmosphere was severe oxidation of WC-Co mixture. As the laser power is increased and/or scanning speed is decreased, more severe oxidation occurred. Within an argon and nitrogen atmosphere the oxidation is reduced significantly. Experiments on multi-layer sintering were also carried out.

  • The electrical and dielectric properties of $ZnO-Pr_6O_{11}CoO-Cr_2O_3La_2O_3-based$ nonlinear resistors were investigated at different sintering temperatures in the range of $1230{\sim}1300^{|circ}C$. As the sintering temperature increased, the breakdown voltage decreased from 777.9 to 108.0V/mm, the nonlinear coefficient greatly decreased from 77.0 to 7.1, and the leakage current increased from $0.4{\mu}A\;to\;50.6{\mu}A$. On the other hand, the donor density from $0.90{\times}10^{18}\;to\;2.59{\times}10^{18}/cm^3$ and the barrier height decreased from 1.89 to 0.69 eV with increasing temperature. The dielectric dissipation factor increased from 0.0879 to 0.2839 for the increase of sintering temperature.

  • This paper concerned with SPS (spark plasma sintering), hot pressing of sinter nanometer WC-Co powder and discussed the density, hardness, microstructures and grain sizes of the alloys sintered. The results showed that the two sintered techniques could produce high density alloys and play well on the grain growth, but SPS could lower the sintering temperature and shorten sintering time. Besides, the hardness of the sintered cemented alloys that was dependent on the grain size and densification could also be improved.

  • Thermoelectric conversion efficiency of thermoelectric elements can be increased by using a structure combining n-type and p-type semiconductors. From the above point of view, attention was directed at ZnO as a candidate n-type semiconductor material and investigations were made. As the result, a dimensionless figure of merit ZT close to 0.28 (1073K) was obtained for specimens produced by the PCS (Pulse Current Sintering) method with addition of specified quantities of $TiO_2$, CoO, and $Al_2O_3$ to ZnO. It was found that the interstitial $TiO_2$ in the ZnO restrains the grain growth and CoO acts onto the bond between grains. The influence of the inclusion of $TiO_2$ and CoO onto the sintering behavior also was investigated.

Effect of Sintering Process with Co3O4 on the Performance of LSCF-Based Cathodes for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

  • The impact of the sintering process, especially in terms of sintering temperature and sintering aid concentration, on the ohmic transport and electrode performance of $(La_{0.80}Sr_{0.20})_{0.95}CoO_{3-{\delta}}$-gadolinia-doped ceria (LSCF-GDC) cathodes is studied. The ohmic and charge-transfer kinetics exhibit a highly coupled $Co_3O_4$ concentration dependency, showing the best performances at an optimum range of 4-5 wt%. This is ascribed to small grain sizes and improved connection between particles. The addition of $Co_3O_4$ was also found to have a dominant impact on charge-transfer kinetics in the LSCF-GDC composite layer and a moderate impact on the electronic transport in the current-collecting LSCF layer. Care should be taken to avoid a formation of excessive thermal stresses between layers when adding $Co_3O_4$.

  • In this study, the WC-10 wt.%Co nanopowders doped by grain growth inhibiter were produced by three different methods based on the spray conversion process. Agglomerated powders with homeogenous distribution of alloying elements and with internal particles of about 100-200 nm in diameter were synthesized. The microstructural changes and sintering behavior of hardmetal compacts were compared with doping method and sintering conditions. The microstructure of hardmetals was very sensitive to doping methods of inhibitor. Nanostructured WC-Co hardmetal powder compacts containing TaC/VC doped by chemical method instead of ball-milling shown superior sintering densification, and the microstructure maintained ultrafine scale with rounded WC particles.

  • In order to develop the composition ceramics capable of being sintered at low temperature with high piezoelectric properties for multilayer piezoelectric actuator application, PZW-PMN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured according to sintering aid $Li_2CO_3$ addition and their microstructural, dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. The crystal structure of the specimens showed a perovskite phase and no pyrochlore or other second phase was detected. At the sintering temperature of $900\;^{\circ}C,\;0.2\;wt%Li_2CO_3$ added specimen showed a optimum values of kp = 0.562, $d_{33}\;=\;360\;pC/N$ and Qm = 1184, respectively.

소결조제 변화에 따른 PCW-PMN-PZT세라믹스의 저온소결 및 압전특성 (Low Temperature Sintering and Piezoelectric Properties of PCW-PMN-PZT Ceramics with the Variation of Sintering Aids)

  • In this study, in order to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric transformer, PCW-PMN-PZT ceramics added with Li$_2$CO$_3$, Bi$_2$O$_3$ and CuO as sintering aids were manufactured, and their microstructural, dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. When the only CuO was added, specimens could not be sintered below 98$0^{\circ}C$. However, when Li$_2$CO$_3$ and Bi$_2$O$_3$ were added, specimens could be sintered below 98$0^{\circ}C$. Li$_2$CO$_3$ and Bi$_2$O$_3$ addition were proved to lower sintering temperature of piezoelectric ceramics due to the effect of Li$_2$O-Bi$_2$O$_3$ liquid phase. Li$_2$CO$_3$ and Bi$_2$O$_3$ added specimens showed higher piezoelectric properties than those of the only CuO added specimens. At 0.2 wt% Li$_2$CO$_3$ and 0.3 wt% Bi$_2$O$_3$ added specimen sintered at 92$0^{\circ}C$, the dielectric constant of 1457, electromechanical coupling factor of 0.56 and mechanical quality factor of 1000 were shown, respectively. These values are suitable for multilayer piezoelectric transformer application.
