As global competition of enterprises heats up recently, there is a growing the need to introduce business knowledge platform. Many enterprises work with other partners in a variety of situations and collaboration has emerged as new competitiveness of them. Collaboration improves the performance of members, and besides it has an important bearing on innovation, result, and increased productivity of enterprise. Lots of businesses, locally and abroad, extend the environment of collaboration and try to share business contents efficiently. In addition, they look into ways of invigorating collaboration by providing community tools. Corporations and Governments around the world are pushing smart work to respond effectively to this paradigm change. Smart work provides many types of collaboration and raises the productivity. Various infrastructures should be constructed for activating smart work. Most of all, core technology is to be developed. Virtual Cluster is the space of collaboration corresponding to change in business paradigm. In overseas policy of Virtual Cluster has been already enforced as an alternative to geographical cluster. The establishment and development of collaboration platform through Virtual Cluster can contribute to business competitiveness by smart work.
In this study we first explain details of the semiconductor manufacturing processes and cluster tools. Then we discuss the problems in current fab layout and cluster tool architecture. As a solution to these problems, we propose the ILE (In-Line EFEM) architecture in which wafer movements are conducted through interconnected EFEMs (Equipment Front End Modules) instead of AMHS (Automated Material Handling System). Then we model the pilot ILE system using discrete event simulation and analyze the cycle time. Finally we compare three different scenarios of equipment layout in the ILE system in terms of cycle time.
This paper rejuvenates the existing discussion on the importance of cluster approach to industry development strategies. Current evidences suggest that the shape of economic policy and practice is changing significantly around the world. Governments continually search for new tools and policy formulas to improve economic performance and create economic prosperity for all citizens. In this context a more proactive and strategic role for government in support of the cluster-based economic development model has emerged. This paper uses Singapore's petrochemical industry as an example to study the cluster approach to industry development. In doing so, there is much optimism to the importance of state and its institutions to play a significant role on industry development. Nevertheless, the study also raises doubts on whether the cluster-based strategy is due to the concept itself or due to other important factors.

This paper attempts to develop a framework articulating a suite of indicators of cluster development, based upon existing work on the economic geography of clusters, cluster frameworks and indicators and cluster policies. Unlike other work the framework adopted here emphasizes adaptive and proactive roles played by agents, whether individual or collective, within the cluster when understanding it as a learning environment to capture an implication made from adopting the cluster perspective. Some possible indicators are operationalized and suggested even if they are not definitive and exhaustive. The conceptual framework and the specific indicators suggested can provide policy-makers and key stakeholders in clusters with a proper set of tools for measuring the level of cluster development, maneuvering a broader strategic planning exercise for successful cluster development.
In this paper, we discuss the system configuration and the design issues of CATS-i, a set of installation and administration tools for Linux cluster systems. CATS-i enables users to manage cluster systems easily, quickly, and safety. It integrates many functions, ranging from installing operating systems and applications to real-time monitoring and management of various important resources. In addition, batch job submission and management are included. These functions support a single system image. Finally, a powerful graphic user interface based on Java lets users quickly understand the cluster status and conveniently use the CATS-i on the Web.

The purpose of this paper is to analyses current status and issues of cluster formation and extract policy implications. To this end, the questionnaire which surveyed the level of cluster formation were executed targeting the actors of regional innovation projects(RIPs). The results show that the situations and development stage of the cluster formation between capital region and non-capital region, large cities and small and medium sized cites are different. The level of clustering is also satisfactory, which is a requirement for cluster formation at its early stage. However, the capacity for phase II of cluster growth is not sufficient yet in terns of relationships between ventures and large corporations, institutions supporting management, finance and marketing, researchers from each individual sector of strategic industries and spin-off fines. Therefore, RIPs should be promoted with different policy tools for various regions that are devised according to the varying development stage of each region. The location of RIPs should be determined considering efficiency rather than equity, clustering rather than decentralization, and specialization rather than multiple development. In the long term, developed regions should pursue balanced regional development, with underdeveloped regions targeting specialization.

A cluster tool for semiconductor manufacturing is an integrated device that consists of several single wafer processing modules and a wafer transport module based on a robot. The distributed module controllers are integrated by an inter-module communication network and coordinated by a centralized controller, called a cluster tool controller (CTC). Since the CTC monitors and coordinates the distributed complex module controllers for advanced process control, complex commuication messaging and services between the CTC and the module controllers are required. A SEMI standard, CTMC(Cluster Tool Module Communication), specifies application-level communication service requirements for inter-module communication. We propose the use of high-level fieldbuses, for instance. PROFIBUS-FMS, for implementing CTMC since the high-level fieldbuses are well suited for complex real-time distributed manufacturing control applications. We present a way of implementing CTMC using PROFIBUS-FMS as the communication enabler. We first propose improvements of a key object of CTMC for material transfer and the part transfer protocol to meet the functional requirements of modem advanced cluster tools. We also discuss mapping objects and services of CTMC to PROFIBUS-FMS communication objects and services. Finally, we explain how to implement the mappings.

This paper is to cluster the AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) data. The load survey system has been applied to record the power consumption of sampling the contract assortment in KEPRI AMR. The effect of the contract assortment change to the customer power consumption is determined by executing the clustering on the load survey results. We can supply the power to customer according to usage to the analysis cluster. The Korea a class of the electricity supply type is less than other country. Because of the Korea electricity markets exists one electricity provider. Need to further divide of electricity supply type for more efficient supply. We are found pattern that is different from supplied type to customer. Out experiment use the Clementine which data mining tools.

Thanks to the recent development of computing technology, the various forms of high-performance computers are available. Among them, the parallel-clustering CPU machines are realized for the high performance computing. These supercomputers (cluster computers) can be applied to various industries due to the advantages of lower price. Especially in the field of numerical flow simulation, use of supercomputers can produce results quickly, and various engineering problems can be reviewed effectively case by case. In this paper, an application of supercomputers (cluster computers) were examined for railroad industry of fire flow simulation by using parallel computational method. It make sure that the supercomputers are very useful tools for railroad engineering.
