In this study, 337 students from various universities in Daejeon participated in a questionnaire survey from March 7 to March 25, 2011. The collected materials were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, cross tabulations analysis, and t-test using SPSS 18.0 software. The results of these tests revealed that more students from the upper grades belonged to the Environmentally Friendly Group compared to those in the Non-environmentally Friendly Group. It was also found that students in the Environmentally Friendly Group had a higher level of consciousness and expressed a greater interest in eco-friendly apparel products as well as towards the launch of educational programs. Additionally, this group was more supportive of the need for new courses and had a higher likelihood to enroll in these courses. The research results revealed that (compared to the Non-environmentally Friendly Group) the Environmentally Friendly Group exhibited a greater satisfaction with the designs of eco-friendly apparel products and had more experience to examine advertisements about eco-friendly apparel products; in addition, they expressed a higher likability and reliability to these advertisements. The results also showed that the Environmentally Friendly Group believed that advertisements had persuasive power and were quite impressive in recalling the advertisements.

  • Purpose: A structural equation model was analysed to explore the determinants of health behaviors of university students in Korea. Method: Nine hundred sixty nine university students were selected by random cluster sampling from five universities located in the central area of Korea. Data collection: The data was collected by questionnaires about demographic characteristics, stressful life events, perceived social support, perceived health status and health behaviors. Results: 1. Gender showed indirect effect on health behaviors. 2. Living together with(out) family had a direct effecton health behaviors: students living with family showed more positive health behaviors. 3. Stressful life events had an indirect effect on health behaviors via perceived health status; a higher score of stressful life events was the predictor for negative health behaviors. 4. A higher score of perceived health status predicted positive health behaviors. Recommendation: Each university should be encouraged to develop a health behavior control program and health promotion program for their own university students. It would be more effective to develop health programs separately according to the demographic or social characteristics of the students. It is also necessary for the Ministry of Education to reform the School Health Act and school health policy to strengthen a health promotion program for university students. In conclusion, following studies should identify and promote the validity and reliability of perceived health status and health behaviors measurements.

  • This paper aims at analyzing the effect of the relationship between innovation intermediaries and firms on firms' absorptive capacity from the perspectives of social capital. And it also analyzes how firms' innovation environment influences on their absorptive capacity in this process. For this purpose, we carry out an empirical analysis on 200 firms in the Daedeok Innopolis, which is the representative innovation cluster in Korea. According to this study, firm's absorptive capacity is positively affected by the reliability and frequency of firms' communication with innovation intermediaries. However, the geographic proximity does not have significant influence. Also, the innovation environmental factors play a positive moderating role in the absorptive capacity of firms, and the social factors have a distinct significant influence on it directly. Based on these findings, this paper would make a contribution to recognize the importance of innovation intermediaries in innovation process and their role as preceding factors to firms' absorptive capacity, as well as innovative environment in the innovation process.

  • This study presents the credit evaluation model for medical venture business which has been growing within the recent decade. We develop the model with two steps. At the first step, the evaluation indexes for each of the financial and non-financial factors of a firm are listed. At the second step, the weight for each index is measured by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process of Saaty(1980). The financial factors consists of 5 upper level indexes and 10 lower level indexes. The upper level indexes of the financial sector are profitability, safety, utilization, growth, and productivity. And the non-financial factors consists of 5 upper level indexes and 17 lower lever indexes. The upper level indexes in this sector are manager's competence, technical capability, marketability, business validity, and reliability. In order to get the empirical results for our model, we conduct the questionnaire survey targeting the credit assessment officers, who are practicing at the financial institutions or the credit guarantee company located within the Wonju Medical Devices Cluster.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of emotional labor on emotional exhaustion among school dietitians according to the level of their self-efficacy. A survey was administered on 300 school dietitians during September 2012 and a total of 277 usable questionnaires were received. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS 18.0 package program. As a result of principal factor analysis for validity test, 26 variables were classified into one factor for self-efficacy, three factors for emotional labor and one factor for emotional exhaustion with a total variance percentage of 67.371%. Internal consistency was estimated by Cronbach's alpha, which yielded reliability coefficients of 0.922 (self-efficacy), 0.916 (emotional display), 0.806 (surface acting), 0.808 (deep acting) and 0.850 (emotional exhaustion). Subjects were segmented into 2 groups of 'high self-efficacy' (n = 159) and 'low self-efficacy' (n = 118) according to the cluster analysis for self-efficacy variables. The 'high self-efficacy' group exhibited higher education(p < 0.01) and served less lunch meals than other groups (p < 0.05). According to multiple regression analysis, the emotional display proved to be significantly and positively related to emotional exhaustion (${\beta}$=0.319, p<0.001) in high self-efficacy group. However both emotional display (${\beta}$=0.233, p<0.05) and surface acting (${\beta}$=0.262, p<0.01) were positively related to emotional exhaustion in the low self-efficacy group. These results suggest that school dietitians should be more aware of their self-efficacy to relieve the effects of the emotional labor on emotional exhaustion.

This indicates that women showed high opinion leader, double leader, and innovator of fashion leadership and pleasure/individuality, and conformity of expected values of appearance management while men care more about competition consciousness, love of family, and individuality focus of individualism-collectivism orientation. Individualism-collectivism orientation showed significant correlation with the sub-variable of fashion leadership and expected values of appearance management. Individualism-collectivism orientation were classified into three groups such as competition collectivism, individuality, and low individual-collectivism. A test of significance in groups was determined by demographic variables like gender, age, occupancy and monthly income. • This study investigates risk reduction behavior with risk perception in outdoor wear purchase situations. Data were collected via a questionnaire from 400 consumers between the ages of 20 to 50 residing in Seoul and Kyonggi-do. Data analysis were conducted with SPSS 20 program on the reliability test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test. Factor analyses were employed for the participation motivation of mountain climbing activities, risk reduction behavior and risk perception. Five factors were for the participation motivation of mountain climbing activities (health and fitness, external ostentation, achievement and excitement, improvement of climbing skills, and society). Five factors were for risk perception (fashionability loss and social risk, time and convenience loss, economic risk, performance risk, and psychological risk). Five factors were for the risk reduction behavior (interpersonal information sources use, marketer-dominated information sources use, professional information sources use, pre-purchase deliberation/observation/experience, and brand dependence). Three clusters were identified based on the motivation of outdoor activities (the affiliation/display, the health/internal informativeness and low motivation). The participation motivation for mountain climbing activities were varied. Manufacturers should increase efforts to develop products with good qualities at a reasonable cost as well as establish new marketing strategies since the risk of product performance and economic efficiency in the purchase of outdoor wear was a significant consumer perception.
