  • In this paper, a CLB-based CPLD low-power technology mapping algorithm consider area and delay time is proposed. To perform low power technology mapping for CPLD, a given Boolean network have to be represented to DAG. The proposed algorithm are consist of three step. In the first step, TD(Transition Density) calculation have to be performed. In the second step, the feasible clusters are generated by considering the following conditions: the number of output, the number of input and the number of OR-terms for CLB(Common Logic Block) within a CPLD. The common node cluster merging method, the node separation method, and the node duplication method are used to produce the feasible clusters. In the final step, low power technology mapping based on the CLBs is packing the feasible clusters into the several proper CLBs. The proposed algorithm is examined by using benchmarks in SIS. In the case of that the number of OR-terms is 5, the experiments results show that reduce the power consumption by 30.73% comparing with that of TEMPLA, and 17.11% comparing with that of PLAmap respectively.

  • Ram pressure due to the intracluster medium (ICM) is known to play a crucial role in removing the cool gas content of a galaxy on a short timescale, potentially driving a star forming galaxy to evolve into a red passive population. Although many HI imaging studies find clear evidence of diffuse atomic gas stripping from cluster galaxies, it is still debatable whether the ram pressure can also strip dense molecular gas. NGC 4522, a Virgo spiral, undergoing strong ram pressure stripping, is one of the few cases where extraplanar CO emission together with stripped HI gas and $H{\alpha}$ knots has been identified, providing an ideal laboratory to study the molecular gas stripping event and the extraplanar star formation activity. The aim of this work is to investigate the origin of extraplanar molecular clouds near NGC 4522 (e.g. stripped or forming in situ), and to probe a relation between the molecular gas surface density and the star formation rate (i.e. the Kennicutt-Schmidt law) at sub-kpc scale, especially in the extraplanar space, using ALMA Cycle 3 CO data and $H{\alpha}$ data of NGC 4522. We present the results from our ALMA observations, and discuss possible scenarios for the origin of extraplanar molecular clouds and to characterize the star formation activity associated with stripped gas outside the galactic disk.

  • We investigate the changes of galaxy spin orientation in dense environments using hydrodynamical cosmological zoom-in simulations for 17 galaxy clusters. This study reveals that the spin axes of satellite galaxies become more unstable when the satellites have lower initial $V/{\sigma}$, orbits with smaller pericenter distance, and higher merger rates after infall into the model clusters. The satellite galaxies involved in mergers after infall experience twice larger angular changes of spin axes than those without mergers. We also find that perturbation exerted by environments or neighboring galaxies strongly correlates with the stability of spin orientation and final $V/{\sigma}$. On the other hand, the size or stellar mass density of the satellites are not significantly affected by mergers or perturbation in cluster environments.

  • Since time series clustering is performed without prior information, it is used for exploratory data analysis. In particular, clusters of time series with similar shapes can be used in various fields, such as business, medicine, finance, and communications. However, existing time series clustering algorithms have a problem in that time series with different shapes are included in the clusters. The reason for such a problem is that the existing algorithms do not consider the limitations on the size of the generated clusters, and use a dimension reduction method in which the information loss is large. In this paper, we propose a method to alleviate the disadvantages of existing methods and to find a better quality of cluster containing similarly shaped time series. In the data preprocessing step, we normalize the time series using z-transformation. Then, we use piecewise aggregate approximation (PAA) to reduce the dimension of the time series. In the clustering step, we use density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) to create a precluster. We then use a modified K-means algorithm to refine the preclusters containing differently shaped time series into subclusters containing only similarly shaped time series. In our experiments, our method showed better results than the existing method.

  • Galaxy clusters are known to be very bright in X-ray and contain a large number of X-ray point sources within the X-ray emission. However, due to the fluctuations of the X-ray emission, it is very difficult to detect faint X-ray sources and to extract accurately the photometric properties of the X-ray point sources in galaxy clusters. In addition, the most X-ray telescopes show spatially varying point spread function (PSF) and suffer from severe vignetting. The Chandra Archival Survey of Galaxy Clusters project is a wide-area ($\sim40deg^2$) survey of serendipitous Chandra X-ray sources in galaxy cluster fields, containing ~58,000 X-ray point sources in ~800 Chandra ACIS observations of ~600 galaxy clusters. This project aim to investigate the density environmental effects on the physical properties of the X-ray point sources, comparing physical properties of the X-ray point sources in galaxy clusters to those in typical fields. To utilize the sensitivity and detection probability of the X-ray point sources in galaxy clusters, we perform extensive Monte-Carlo simulations. In this poster, we compare the detection probability of the X-ray point sources in galaxy clusters to that of typical fields, and discuss quantitatively the difference between them.

  • We report the results of three-dimensional radiation hydrodynamic simulations of star cluster formation in turbulent molecular clouds, with primary attention to how stellar radiation feedback controls the lifetime and net star formation efficiency (SFE) of their natal clouds. We examine the combined effects of photoionization and radiation pressure for a wide range of cloud masses (10^4 - 10^6 Msun) and radii (2 - 80 pc). In all simulations, stars form in densest regions of filaments until feedback becomes strong enough to clear the remaining gas out of the system. We find that the SFE is primarily a function of the initial cloud surface density, Sigma, (SFE increasing from ~7% to ~50% as Sigma increases from ~30 Msun/pc^2 to ~10^3 Msun/pc^2), with weak dependence on the initial cloud mass. Control runs with the same initial conditions but without either radiation pressure or photoionization show that photoionization is the dominant feedback mechanism for clouds typical in normal disk galaxies, while they are equally important for more dense, compact clouds. For low-Sigma clouds, more than 80% of the initial cloud mass is lost by photoevaporation flows off the surface of dense clumps. The cloud becomes unbound within ~0.5-2.5 initial free-fall times after the first star-formation event, implying that cloud dispersal is rapid once massive star formation takes place. We briefly discuss implications and limitations of our work in relation to observations.

  • We explore the role of various environments in triggering star formation (SF) and narrow-line active galactic nucleus (AGN) in SDSS spiral galaxies and the SF-AGN connection, using a volume-limited sample with $M_r$ < -19.5 and 0.02 < z < 0.055 selected from the SDSS Release 7. To avoid the dependency of AGN activity on bulge mass, the central velocity dispersion of the sample galaxies is limited to have a narrow range of $130{\leq}{\sigma}{\leq}200km\;s^{-1}$. We note that in gas sufficient galaxies, AGN feeding lags behind starburst, whereas as the gas exhausts, the SF slows down and AGN seems to even prevent the SF, and thus divide the high-${\sigma}$ sample into two subsamples according to their cold gas content at central region traced by fiber star formation rate, $SFR_{fib}$. We find that a high density (cluster) environment causes a significant increase in AGN activity as well as gas depletion in host galaxies. However, the finding is only noticeable in the high-${\sigma}$ and low $SFR_{fib}$ sample. It seems that a galaxy interaction with the nearest neighbor directly affects the SF of the central region. However, it is unclear whether it directly affects AGN activity.

  • The purpose of the study is to understand the ecological characteristics of the early stage of community formation of epilithic diatoms. The samples were daily collected from a site of the Kumho River during 70 days from October 13 to December 21 in 2002. Total 126 diatom taxa collected in the study were classified into 114 species and 12 varieties belonging to 26 genera. About 80% of the taxa collected from the artificial substrata during the whole studying period were observed until tenth day from the start time of the study. In the study the successional process of the diatom community was divided into the three stages of the early, the middle and the later by cluster analysis based on the similarities in species composition among the communities. Cocconeis placentula Ehrenb. and C. placentula var. lineata (Ehrenb.) V.H., horizontally positioned species, would be divided into the early successional species, and Diatoma vulgre Bory, vertically positioned species, was the later successional species. Cell densities and species composition of the diatoms on the artificial substrata were closely similar to them of natural substrata after 40th day from the start time of the study.

  • The purpose of the study was to stastically classify individual PM-10 measured by SEM/EDX (scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive x-ray analyzer). The SEM/EDX provided various physical parameters like optical diameter, as well as major 18 chemical information (Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Br, Pb) for a particle-by-particle basis. The total of 1,419 particles were analyzed for the study. Thus density and mass of each particle can be estimated based on its chemical composition. Further the study developed 4 semisource profiles including highway, oil boiler, incinerator, and soil emissions, where each sample was collected near the source in the ambient air The profiles developed were consisted of mass fractions and their uncertainties based on a particle class concept. To obtain mass fraction of each particle class, an agglomerative hierarchical cluster analysis was initially applied to create particle classes for each sample. Then uncertainties were calculated for each class based on the jacknife method. The 1,258 particles out of 1,419 (88.7%) were assorted in newly generated particle classes. The study provides opportunities to identify particle's source quantitatively and to develope various receptor models.

  • The surface electronic state of rutile $TiO_2$, which is an oxide semiconductor and has a wide band gap of 3.1 $\sim$ 3.5 eV, was calculated by DV-$X_{\alpha}$ method, which is a sort of the first principle molecular orbital method and uses Hartre-Fock-Slater approximation. The $[Ti_{15}O_{56}]^{-52}$ cluster model was used for the calculation of bulk state and the $[OTi_{11}O_{34}]^{-24}$ model for the surface state calculation. After calculations, the energy level diagrams and the deformation electron density distribution map were compared in both models. As results, it was identified that the surface energy levels are found between the valence and conduction band of bulk $TiO_2$ on the surface area. The energy values of these surface-induced levels are lower than conduction band of bulk $TiO_2$ by 0.1 $\sim$ 1 eV. From this fact, it is expected that the surface energy levels act as donar levels in n-type semiconductor.
