According to the recent expansion of the network environment, the spread of smart devices is continuously increasing. With the spread of smart devices such as smart phones, smart pads and wearables, changes are taking place in smart technologies and IT convergence technologies. The development of smart technology is a key element of the 4th industrial technology. The Fourth Industrial Revolution expanded the new service-based industry by adding intelligence to residential, industrial and production environments using IT convergence and smart devices. Research on providing various services using smart technologies, such as smart home, smart factory, smart farm, and smart healthcare, is being conducted in variety. In particular, There is a sharp rise in smart homes due to the proliferation of IoT devices and the growth of sensor technology, control technology, applications, data management, and cloud services. Smart home services using smart technology provide residents with convenient, beneficial services and environments. Smart home service has complemented the existing home network service, but there still are flaws to be modified. In other words, the spread of smart devices, the development of service provider-oriented services, and the interlocking of services have limitations in providing services in consideration of user environment and user state. In order to solve this problem, this study proposes a smart home service system that considers the situation of the elderly.
Many models of globular cluster formation assume the presence of cold dense clouds in early universe. Here we re-examine the Fall & Rees (1985) model for formation of proto-globular cluster clouds (PGCCs) via thermal instabilities in a protogalactic halo. We first argue, based on the previous study of two-dimensional numerical simulations of thermally unstable clouds in a stratified halo of galaxy clusters by Real et al. (1991), that under the protogalactic environments only nonlinear (${\delta}{\ge}1$) density inhomogeneities can condense into PGCCs without being disrupted by the buoyancy-driven dynamical instabilities. We then carry out numerical simulations of the collapse of overdense douds in one-dimensional spherical geometry, including self-gravity and radiative cooling down to T = $10^4$ K. Since imprinting of Jeans mass at $10^4$ K is essential to this model, here we focus on the cases where external UV background radiation prevents the formation of $H_2$ molecules and so prevent the cloud from cooling below $10^4$ K. The quantitative results from these simulations can be summarized as follows: 1) Perturbations smaller than $M_{min}\~(10^{5.6}\;M{\bigodot})(nh/0.05cm^{-3})^{-2}$ cool isobarically, where nh is the unperturbed halo density, while perturbations larger than $M_{min}\~(10^8\;M{\bigodot})(nh/0.05cm^{-3})^{-2}$ cool isochorically and thermal instabilities do not operate. On the other hand, intermediate size perturbations ($M_{min} < M_{pgcc} < M_{max}$) are compressed supersonically, accompanied by strong accretion shocks. 2) For supersonically collapsing clouds, the density compression factor after they cool to $T_c = 10^4$ K range $10^{2.5} - 10^6$, while the isobaric compression factor is only $10^{2.5}$. 3) Isobarically collapsed clouds ($M < M_{min}$) are too small to be gravitationally bound. For supersonically collapsing clouds, however, the Jeans mass can be reduced to as small as $10^{5.5}\;M_{\bigodot}(nh/0.05cm^{-3})^{-1/2}$ at the maximum compression owing to the increased density compression. 4) The density profile of simulated PGCCs can be approximated by a constant core with a halo of $p{\infty} r^{-2}$ rather than a singular isothermal sphere.
Characteristics of speckle errors of Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS) chlorophyll-${\alpha}$ concentration were analyzed, and its causes were investigated by using SeaWiFS data in the East Sea from September 1997 to December 2007. The speckles with anomalously high concentrations were randomly distributed and showed remarkably high bias of greater than $10mg/m^3$, compared with their neighboring pixels. The speckles tended to appear frequently in winter, which might be related to cloud distribution. Ten-year averaged cloudiness of winter was much higher over the southeastern part, with frequent speckles, than the northwestern part of the East Sea. Statistical analysis results showed that the number of the speckles was increased as cloudiness increased. Normalized water-leaving radiance of the speckle pixel was considerably low at the short wavelengths (443, 490, and 510 nm), whereas the radiance at 555 nm band was normal. These low measurements produced extraordinarily high concentration from the chlorophyll-${\alpha}$ estimation formula. This study presented the speckle errors of SeaWiFS chlorophyll-${\alpha}$ concentration in the East Sea and suggested that more reliable chlorophyll-${\alpha}$ data based on appropriate ocean color remote sensing techniques should be used for the oceanic application researches.

The world faces several issues of energy crisis and environmental deterioration due to over-dependence on single source of which is fossil fuel. Though, fuel is needed as ingredients for industrial development and growth of any country, however the fossil fuel which is a major source of energy for this purpose has always been terrifying thus the need for alternative and renewable energy sources. The search for alternative energy sources resulted into the acceptance of a biofuel as a reliable alternative energy source. This work presents the study of optimization of process of transesterification of vegetable oil to biodiesel using NaOH as catalyst. A $2^4$ factorial design method was employed to investigate the influence of ratio of oil to methanol, temperature, NaOH concentration, and transesterification time on the yield of biodiesel from vegetable oil. Low and high levels of the key factors considered were 4:1 and 6:1 mole ratio, 30 and $60^{\circ}C$ temperatures, 0.5 and 1.0 wt% catalyst concentration, and 30 and 60 min reaction time. Results obtained revealed that oil to methanol molar ratio of 6:1, tranesetrification temperature of $60^{\circ}C$, catalyst concentration of 1.0wt % and reaction time of 30 min are the best operating conditions for the optimum yield of biofuel from vegetable oil, with optimum yield of 95.8%. Results obtained on the characterizzation of the produced biodiesel indicate that the specific gravity, cloud point, flash point, sulphur content, viscosity, diesel index, centane number, acid value, free glycerine, total glycerine and total recovery are 0.8899, 4, 13, 0.0087%, 4.83, 25, 54.6. 0.228mgKOH/g, 0.018, 0.23% and 96% respectively. Results also indicate that the qualities of the biodiesel tested for are in conformity with the set standard. A model equation was developed based on the results obtained using a statistical tool. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) of data shows that mole ratio of ground nut oil to methanol and transesterification time have the most pronounced effect on the biodiesel yield with contributions of 55.06% and 9.22% respectively. It can be inferred from the results various conducted that vegetable oil locally produced from groundnut oil can be utilized as a feedstock for biodiesel production.
We describe some performance of the detector electronics system for the FIMS (Far-ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph) mission. The FIMS mission to map the far ultraviolet sky uses MCP (micro-channel plate) detectors with a crossed delay line anode to record photon arrival events. FIMS has two MCP detectors, each with a ~25mm$\times$25mm active area. The unconventional anode design allows for the use of a single set of position encoding electronics for both detector fields. The centroid position of the charge cloud, generated by the photon-stimulated MCP, is determined by measuring the arrival times at both ends of the anode following amplification and external delay. The temporal response of the detector electronics system determines the readout's positional resolution for the charge centroid. High temporal resolution (<$35{\times}75$ps FWHM) and low power consumption (< 6W) were achieved for the FIMS detector electronics system.

In order to predict frostfall, nocturnal cooling rate and air temperature changes were analyzed on days with and without frost when the maximum temperature was lower than $20^{\circ}C$. In general, the nocturnal cooling rates on frosty days were higher than those on non-frosty days. The cooling rates averaged from 19:00 to 24:00 on frosty and non-frosty days were $1.7^{\circ}Ch^{-1}$ and $0.7^{\circ}Ch^{-1}$ respectively. As expected, the nocturnal temperature on frosty days was lower than that on non-frosty days. Especially, the midnight air temperature averaged about $3.9{\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$ on frosty days, which was lower than that on non-frosty days (i.e., $10.1{\pm}2.9^{\circ}C$). The discriminant analysis using three independent variables (i.e., total cloud amount, air temperature at 24:00, and 5-day rainfall amount) successfully classified the presence of frost with 87% accuracy.

National Meteorological Satellite Center(NMSC) has produced Sea Surface Temperature (SST) using Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite(COMS) data since April 2011. In this study, we have developed a new regional COMS SST algorithm optimized within the North-West Pacific Ocean area based on the Multi-Channel SST(MCSST) method and made a composite SST using polar orbit satellites as well as the COMS data. In order to retrieve the optimized SST at Northwest Pacific, we carried out a colocation process of COMS and in-situ buoy data to make coefficients of the MCSST algorithm through the new cloud masking including contaminant pixels and quality control processes of buoy data. And then, we have estimated the composite SST through the optimal interpolation method developed by National Institute of Meteorological Science(NIMS). We used four satellites SST data including COMS, NOAA-18/19(National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-18/19), and GCOM-W1(Global Change Observation Mission-Water 1). As a result, the root mean square error ofthe composite SST for the period of July 2012 to June 2013 was $0.95^{\circ}C$ in comparison with in-situ buoy data.

In the smart media environment, magazine industry has been experiencing a transition to ecosystem of value network, which includes high complexity and ambiguity. Using case study method, this article conducts research on digital convergence, the model of magazine ecosystem and adaptation strategy of global magazine companies. Research findings have it that the way of contents production of global magazines has been based on collaborative production system within communities, expert communities, creative users, media contents companies and magazine platform. The system shows different patterns and characteristics depending on magazine-driven platform, Platform-driven platform or user-driven platform. Collaboration system has been confirmed in various cases: Huffington Post and Zinio which collaborate with media contents companies, Amazon magazines and Bookish with magazine companies, Huffington Post and Wired with expert communities, and Flipboard with creative users and communities. Foreign magazine contents diverge into (paper, electronic, app and web magazine) as they start the lively trades of their contents on the magazine platform. In the area of contents uses, readers employ smart media technology effectively such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence and module individualization, making it possible for the virtuous cycle to remain in the relationship within communities, expert communities and creative users.
The Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) on board the Communication Ocean Meteorological Satellite (COMS), the first geostationary ocean color sensor, requires accurate atmospheric correction since its eight bands are also affected by atmospheric constituents such as gases, molecules and atmospheric aerosols. Unlike gases and molecules in the atmosphere, aerosols can interact with sunlight by complex scattering and absorption properties. For the purpose of qualified ocean remote sensing, understanding of aerosol-radiation interactions is needed. In this study, we show micro-physical and optical properties of aerosols using the Optical Property of Aerosol and Cloud (OPAC) aerosol models. Aerosol optical properties, then, were used to analysis the relationship between theoretical satellite measured radiation from radiative transfer calculations and aerosol optical thickness (AOT) under various environments (aerosol type and loadings). It is found that the choice of aerosol type makes little different in AOT retrieval for AOT<0.2. Otherwise AOT differences between true and retrieved increase as AOT increases. Furthermore, the differences between the AOT and angstrom exponent from standard algorithms and this study, and the comparison with ground based sunphotometer observations are investigated. Over the northeast Asian region, these comparisons suggest that spatially averaged mean AOT retrieved from this study is much better than from standard ocean color algorithm. Finally, these results will be useful for aerosol retrieval or atmospheric correction of COMS/GOCI data processing.
In this study, fused Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) data were produced using AOD products from the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) onboard Communication, Oceanography and Meteorology Satellite (COMS)satellite and the Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) onboard Himawari-8. Since the spatial resolution and the coordinate system between the satellite sensors are different, a preprocessing was first preceded. After that, using the level 1.5 AOD dataset of AErosol RObotic NETwork (AERONET), which is ground-based observation, correlations and trends between each satellite AOD and AERONET AOD were utilized to produce more accurate satellite AOD data than the originalsatellite AODs. The fused AOD were found to be more accurate than the originalsatellite AODs. Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and mean bias of the fused AODs were calculated to be 0.13 and 0.05, respectively. We also compared errors of the fused AODs against those of the original GOCI AOD (RMSE: 0.15, mean bias: 0.11) and the original AHI AOD (RMSE: 0.15, mean bias: 0.05). It was confirmed that the fused AODs have betterspatial coverage than the original AODsin areas where there are no observations due to the presence of cloud from a single satellite.
