Google cloud includes data uploaded and synchronized by users, as well as synchronization history of all cloud services, users' smartphone usage, and location information. Therefore, Google cloud data can be useful for digital forensics from a user behavior analysis perspective. Through this paper, we have identified the types of cloud data that can be acquired using Google's Takeout service and developed a tool that can be usefully utilized in digital forensics research and investigation by screening and analyzing the data required for analyzing user behavior. Because Google cloud data is synchronized through Google accounts regardless of the type of computing device, Google service data used on various devices such as PCs, smartphones, and tablet PCs can be acquired through Google accounts without the device. Therefore, the results of this paper's research are expected to be very useful for digital forensics research and investigation in the current situation.

As the cloud services users' increase, there are important files created by individual in cloud storage. Thus, investigation of cloud artifact should be conducted. There are two methods of analyzing cloud service, one is that investigates cloud server provider (CSP), and another is that investigates client. In this paper, we presents an automated framework to detect the altered artifact and developes a tool that detects the cloud artifact. We also developed Cloud Artifact Tool that can investigate client computer. Cloud Artifact Tool provides feature of collection and analysis for the services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, NDrive, DaumCloud, Ucloud, LG Cloud, T Cloud and iCloud.

Cloud computing has emerged to be the most effective headway for investigating crime especially cybercrime in this modern world. Even as we move towards an information technology-controlled world, it is important to note that when innovations are made, some negative implications also come with it, and an example of this is these criminal activities that involve technology, network devices, and networking that have emerged as a result of web improvements. These criminal activities are the ones that have been termed cybercrime. It is because of these increased criminal activities that organizations have come up with different strategies that they use to counter these crimes, and one of them is carrying out investigations using the cloud environment. A cloud environment has been defined as the use of web-based applications that are used for software installation and data stored in computers. This paper examines problems that are a result of cybercrime investigation in the cloud environment. Through analysis of the two components in play; cybercrime and cloud environment, we will be able to understand what are the problems that are encountered when carrying out investigations in cloud forensics. Through the use of secondary research, this paper found out that most problems are associated with technical and legal channels that are involved in carrying out these investigations. Investigator's mistakes when extracting pieces of evidence form the most crucial problems that take a lead when it comes to cybercrime investigation in the cloud environment. This paper not only flags out the challenges that are associated with cybercrime investigation in cloud environments but also offer recommendations and suggested solutions that can be used to counter the problems in question here. Through a proposed model to perform forensics investigations, this paper discusses new methodologies solutions, and developments for performing cybercrime investigations in the cloud environment.
The smartphone is the communication device that is the most personal to the user, and it keeps a lot of information related to the user and makes information communication with other devices. With these characteristics, forensics on smartphones are one of the most basic methods of investigation in criminal investigations, and have actually contributed to the settlement of the case by providing many clues. However, recently, it is designed to encrypt data stored as a social issue related to the protection of user's personal information, or to delete deleted data or to delete log data together. So, any solutions? In this paper, I try to find the answer from cloud data stored by smartphone user account. Cloud forensics should approach complementary relationships rather than smartphone forensics. There are a lot of data stored in the cloud that can be meaningfully used in the investigation. Online activity information of users, such as Internet usage, YouTube view, and contents purchase information, cloud service such as e-mail, cloud drive, and location information are the most representative data. These data can be unvaluable, but here are some important clues in various types of criminal investigations. In this paper, I propose a method to extract data from the google cloud so that the data can be used for investigation, and to utilize the extracted data for investigation. And it explains the role of the extracted artifacts in the actual investigation business through virtual cases and proves its value.
With the diversification of mobile devices, the development of web technologies, and the popularization of the cloud, an internet-centric web OS that is not dependent on devices has become necessary. Chromebooks are mobile devices in the form of convertible laptops featuring a web OS developed by Google. These Web OS mobile devices have advantages of multi-user characteristics of the same device and storage and sharing of data through internet and cloud, but it is easy to collect and analyze evidence from the forensic point of view because of excellent security and easy destruction of evidence not. In this paper, we propose an evidence collection procedure and an analysis method considering the cloud environment by dividing the Chromebook, which is a web OS mobile device popularized in the future, into user and administrator modes.

An area presenting new opportunities for both legitimate business, as well as criminal organizations, is Cloud computing. This work gives a strong background in current digital forensic science, as well as a basic understanding of the goal of Law Enforcement when conducting digital forensic investigations. These concepts are then applied to digital forensic investigation of cloud environments in both theory and practice, and supplemented with current literature on the subject. Finally, legal challenges with digital forensic investigations in cloud environments are discussed.
Recently, companies seek a way to overcome their financial crisis by reducing costs in the field of IT. In such a circumstance, cloud computing is rapidly emerging as an optimal solution to the crisis. Even in a digital forensic investigation, whether users of an investigated system have used a cloud service is a very important factor in selecting additional investigated subjects. When a user has used cloud services, such as Daum Cloud and Google Docs, it is possible to connect to the could service from a remote place by acquiring the user's log-in information. In such a case, evidence data should be collected from the remote place for an efficient digital forensic investigation, and it is needed to conduct research on the collection and analysis of data from various kinds of cloud services. Thus, this study suggested a digital forensic framework considering cloud environments by investigating collection and analysis techniques for each cloud service.

Cloud computing is now used by most companies, business centres and academic institutions to embrace new computer technology. Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) are limited to certain services, missing some of the assets requested by their customers, it means that different clouds need to interconnect to share resources and interoperate between them. The clouds may be interconnected in different characteristics and systems, and the network may be vulnerable to volatility or interference. While information technology and cloud computing are also advancing to accommodate the growing worldwide application, criminals use cyberspace to perform cybercrimes. Cloud services deployment is becoming highly prone to threats and intrusions. The unauthorised access or destruction of records yields significant catastrophic losses to organisations or agencies. Human intervention and Physical devices are not enough for protection and monitoring of cloud services; therefore, there is a need for more efficient design for cyber defence that is adaptable, flexible, robust and able to detect dangerous cybercrime such as a Denial of Service (DOS) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) in heterogeneous cloud computing platforms and make essential real-time decisions for forensic investigation. This paper aims to develop a framework for digital forensic for the detection of cybercrime in a joined heterogeneous cloud setup. We developed a Digital Forensics model in this paper that can function in heterogeneous joint clouds. We used Unified Modeling Language (UML) specifically activity diagram in designing the proposed framework, then for deployment, we used an architectural modelling system in developing a framework. We developed an activity diagram that can accommodate the variability and complexities of the clouds when handling inter-cloud resources.

As digital evidence becomes more important in criminal investigations, disputes are increasing in court. As media diversifies and the scope of analysis expands, the level of expertise in digital forensics is also increasing. However, no competency model has been developed to define the capabilities of digital evidence examiners or to judge their expertise. There have been some studies that have derived the capabilities necessary for digital evidence examiner, but they are still insufficient. Therefore, in this study, 25 competency evaluation factors in a total of 9 competency groups were defined using methodologies such as expert FGI and Delphi survey. Specifically, it was defined as Digital Forensics Theory, Digital Evidence Collection&Management, Disk Forensics, Mobile Forensics, Video Forensics, infringement forensics, DB Forensics, Embedded(IoT) Forensics, and Cloud Forensics. The digital evidence examiner competency model is expected to be used in various fields such as recruitment, education and training, and performance evaluation in the future.

The importance of digital forensics in the cloud environment is increasing as businesses and individuals move their data from On-premise to the cloud. Cloud data can be stored on various devices, including mobile devices and desktops, and encompasses a variety of user behavior artifacts, such as information generated from linked accounts and cloud services. However, there are limitations in securing and analyzing digital evidence due to environmental constraints of the cloud, such as distributed storage of data and lack of artifact linkage. One solution to address this is archiving services, and Google's Takeout is prime example. In this paper, user behavior data is analyzed for cloud forensics based on archiving data and necessary items are selected from an investigation perspective. Additionally, we propose the process of analyzing selectively collected data based on time information and utilizing web-based visualization to meaningfully assess artifact associations and multi-behaviors. Through this, we aim to demonstrate the value of utilizing archiving data in response to the increasing significance of evidence collection for cloud data.
