  • Recently the government civil affairs administration system has been advanced to a cloud computing environment from a simple network environment. The electronic civil affairs processing environment in recent years means cloud computing environment based bid data services. Therefore, there exist lots of problems in processing big data for the government civil affairs service compared to the conventional information acquisition environment. That is, it processes new information through collecting required information from different information systems much further than the information service in conventional network environments. According to such an environment, applications of providing administration information for processing the big data have been becoming a major target of illegal attackers. The objectives of this study are to prevent illegal uses of the electronic civil affairs service based on IPs nationally located in civil affairs centers and to protect leaks of the important data retained in these centers. For achieving it, the safety, usability, and security of services are to be ensured by using different authentication processes and encryption methods based on these processes.

  • Nowadays, Mobile devices are now capable of supporting a wide range of applications. Unfortunately, some of applications demand an ever increasing computational power and mobile devices have limited resources due to their constraints, such as low processing power, limited memory, unpredictable connectivity, and limited battery life. To deal with mobile devices' constraints, researchers envision extending cloud computing services to mobile devices using virtualization techniques to shift the workload from mobile devices to a powerful computational infrastructure. Those techniques consist of migrating resource-intensive computations from a mobile device to the resource-rich cloud, or server (called nearby infrastructure). In this paper, we want to highlight on cloudlet architecture (nearby infrastructure with mobile devices), its functioning and in our future work, analyze effects of distance between cloudlet and mobile devices.

  • In this paper we present some research results on computing intensive applications using modern high performance architectures and from the perspective of high computational needs. Computing intensive applications are an important family of applications in distributed computing domain. They have been object of study using different distributed computing paradigms and infrastructures. Such applications distinguish for their demanding needs for CPU computing, independently of the amount of data associated with the problem instance. Among computing intensive applications, there are applications based on simulations, aiming to maximize system resources for processing large computations for simulation. In this research work, we consider an application that simulates scheduling and resource allocation in a Grid computing system using Genetic Algorithms. In such application, a rather large number of simulations is needed to extract meaningful statistical results about the behavior of the simulation results. We study the performance of Oracle Grid Engine for such application running in a Cluster of high computing capacities. Several scenarios were generated to measure the response time and queuing time under different workloads and number of nodes in the cluster.

  • The characteristics of today's health care industry, based on the state of the art IT can be represented as a paradigm of human-oriented ubiquitous and accessible as possible by U-Health care. In addition, the healthcare industry is information and communication technologies (ICT) developments regarding the many advances and applications based on the research being carried out actively. Medical information system has been developed toward combining information systems of medical IT and it sets its sights on the fusion of developed IT and u-healthcare system. So changing distributed medical information systems into a safe PHR integrated system based on IaaS cloud computing is suggested in order to forge u-healthcare system with the times in this paper. Our experimental results show that our proposed system increased the data access time by about 24% and reduces the waiting time for processing service by about 4.3% over the web-based PHR.

  • As a way of augmenting constrained resources of mobile devices such as CPU and memory, many works on mobile cloud computing (MCC), where mobile devices utilize remote resources of cloud services or PCs, /have been proposed. A typical approach to resolving resource problems of mobile nodes in MCC is to offload functional components to other resource-rich nodes. However, most of the current woks do not consider a characteristic of dynamically changed MCC environment and propose offloading mechanisms in a conceptual level. In this paper, in order to ensure performance of highly complex mobile applications, we propose four different types of offloading mechanisms which can be applied to diverse situations of MCC. And, the proposed offloading mechanisms are practically designed so that they can be implemented with current technologies. Moreover, we define cost models to derive the most sutilable situation of applying each offloading mechanism and prove the performance enhancement through offloadings in a quantitative manner.

  • The COVID-19 outbreak, which took longer than expected, caused considerable damage to students' basic academic ability in mathematics. In this paper, a multiplication table practice application that can help students improve their basic multiplication arithmetic skills has been developed based on a cloud-service. The performance of the application was improved by integrating the Flutter framework, Google Cloud, and Google Sheets. As a result of applying this application to 72 6th graders in elementary schools located in K Metropolitan City, for one week. students' spending time required for solving multiplication table problems was reduced by more than 28% compared to the initial period, while students' learning data was able to be accurately collected without errors. It is hoped that the development case conducted through the Flutter framework in this study can lead to the development of other educational learning applications.

  • Recently, sudden interests of mobile cloud computing as well as conventional internet environment are rapidly increased as cloud computing spread out in our web society. Mobile devices including smart phone are rapidly changing in a wholesale way that covers hardwares, applications, and services. However, the Internet access using mobile device is not quite smooth in this local mobile internet environment which suffers from lack of understanding and observance of Web Standards. Although most of domestic web sites are developed focusing on various functions and eye-catching designs, this should became one of the main factors that make the usability and accessability decrease when accessing web with smart phones or table PCs. Therefore, this paper suggested a web interface that considered usability and accessability under mobile cloud environment and we tried to prove it via usability test. It could be found that there was an improvement of usability of interface of the main page that has been optimized to the mobile device environment suggested from the previous research we present, but this paper aimed to prove a usability improvement of total website as a whole by performing the usability test on the entire website. Selecting a special website optimized for mobile cloud computing, we prove an improvement of usability and accessibility. Therefore, we offer a guideline about user interface design applications to developers or companies who want to construct mobile website.

  • Till now, applications of many kinds of satellite images have been accentuated in the datacentric scientific studies, researches regarding system development and concerned technologies for them are on the un-matured stage. Especially, satellite image processing requires large volume data handling and specific analysis functionalities, so that practical necessity of base study for system development is emphasized on. In the view of information system, various edged trends such as web standards, cloud computing, or web framework are utilized owing to their application benefits proven and business needs. Considered these aspects, a testing implementation was carried out using OpenStack cloud computing environment and e-government framework. As for the processing functions, WPS in GeoServer, as one of OGC web standards, was applied to perform interoperable data processing scheme between two or more remote servers. Working with the server implemented, client-side was also developed using several open sources such as HTML 5, jQuery, and OpenLayers. If it is that completed further experiments onsite applications with actual multi-data sets and extension of on-demand functionalities with the result of this study, it will be referred as an example case model for complicated and complex system design and implementation which needs cloud computing, geo-spatial web standards and web framework.

  • This paper studies a method for estimating the scale of a Hadoop cluster to process big data as a cost-effective manner. In the case of medical institutions, demands for cloud-based big data analysis are increasing as medical records can be stored outside the hospital. This paper first analyze the Amazon EMR framework, which is one of the popular cloud-based big data framework. Then, this paper presents a efficiency model for scaling the Hadoop cluster to execute a Mapreduce application more cost-effectively. This paper also analyzes the factors that influence the execution of the Mapreduce application by performing several experiments under various conditions. The cost efficiency of the analysis of the big data can be increased by setting the scale of cluster with the most efficient processing time compared to the operational cost.
