Recently, cloud computing market is growing geometrically in both private and public area, and many global companies in various domains have developed and provided cloud computing services. In such situation, Korean government made multiple plans for domestic cloud computing industry. However, most research institutes have focused on market size and status information, which makes actual effectiveness of cloud computing service hard to recognize. In this study, we define cloud computing Industry by rearranging Input-Output table published by the Bank of Korea to use Input-Output Analysis. The Input-Output Analysis was devised in 1963 by Leontief and it is used in many fields of study until now. It produces various coefficients that are able to identify production-inducing effect, value-added effect, labor-inducing effect, front and rear chain effect. The analysis results show that production-inducing effect, front and rear chain effect of cloud computing industry is low compared to other industries. However, cloud computing Industry possesses relatively high value-added effect and labor-inducing effect. It is because industry magnitude of cloud computing is smaller than other industries such as manufacturing, chemical industries. The economic effects of the cloud computing industry are not remarkable, but this result is significant to emerging markets and industries and presents the fresh way of analyzing cloud computing research field.

The cloud computing industry has focused on establishing a cloud-based business environment for enterprises with efforts to convert using their own on-premise computing infrastructures to using cloud services. With these efforts, using cloud services has become natural, especially for the IT industry. The cloud computing industry is moving toward proliferation of the cloud computing environment into various evolving industries. Along with industrial trends, new technical trends such as edge computing and multi-cloud are emerging. These trends are expected to create new business models and develop related service ecosystems, providing new opportunities for service providers and new experiences for users. A mong those emerging technologies, multi-cloud technology is expected to realize unlimited global cloud computing resources by unifying cloud resources from multiple public cloud service providers. In this paper, we introduce the concept and related trends of multi-cloud technology. Subsequently, we analyze the main functionalities and several use cases of multi-cloud technology. Finally, we summarize the effects and usefulness of multi-cloud technology in the domestic cloud industry.
Cloud computing has brought changes to the IT environment. Due to the spread of LTE, users of cloud services are growing more. This which provides IT resources to meet the needs of users of cloud services are noted as a core industry. But it is not activated because of the security of personal data and the safety of the service. In order to solve this, intrusion detection system is constructed as follows. This protects individual data safely which exists in the cloud and also protects information exhaustively from malicious attack. The cause of most attack risk which exists to cloud computing can find in distributed environment. In this study, we analyzed about necessary property of network-based intrusion detection system that process and analyze large amount of data which occur in cloud computing environment. Also, we studied functions which detect and correspond attack occurred in interior of virtualization.
Given the numbers of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices shipped every day, more and more users are relying on the cloud as the main driver for satisfying their computing needs, whether it is data storage, applications or infrastructure. Mobile cloud computing is simply cloud computing in which at least some of the devices involved are mobile. Each node is owned by a different user and is likely to be mobile. Using mobile hardware for cloud computing has advantages over using traditional hardware. These advantage include computational access to multimedia and sensor data without the need for large network transfer, more efficient access to data stored on other mobile devices and distributed ownership and maintenance of hardware. It is important to predict job execution time in mobile cloud computing because there are many mobile nodes with different capabilities. This paper analyzes the job execution time for mobile cloud computing in terms of network environment and heterogeneous mobile nodes using a mathematical model.
Cloud computing technology based on centralized high-performance computing has brought about major changes across the information technology industry and led to new paradigms. However, with the rapid development of the industry and increasing need for mass generation and real-time processing of data across various fields, centralized cloud computing is lagging behind the demand. This is particularly critical in emerging technologies such as autonomous driving, the metaverse, and augmented/virtual reality that require the provision of services with ultralow latency for real-time performance. To address existing limitations, distributed and edge cloud computing technologies have recently gained attention. These technologies allow for data to be processed and analyzed closer to their point of generation, substantially reducing the response times and optimizing the network bandwidth usage. We describe distributed and edge cloud computing technologies and explore the latest trends in their standardization.
This study proposes the future strategy of semiconductor companies corresponding to the growth of cloud computing. Cloud computing is the delivery of IT resources such as hardware and software as a service rather than a product, and it is expected to significantly change the IT market. By employing the scenario planning method, this study develops a total of eight scenario cases, and presents the three possible scenarios including the best market, the worst market, and the neutral market scenario. This study suggests the future strategy of semiconductor companies based on the best market scenario (increasing firms' IT expenditure, increasing the complexity and performance of devices, the frequent replacement of devices). The suggested future strategy of semiconductor includes that the semiconductor companies need to strengthen their price competitiveness, secure the next generation technologies, and develop the better capability for market prediction with the growth of cloud computing. This study will help semiconductor companies set up the strategy direction of technology development, and understand the connections between cloud computing and the memory semiconductor industry. This study has practical implications for semiconductor industry to prepare for the future of cloud computing.
There is a growing interest for 'Cloud computing' to cut costs, and help the users focus on their core business instead of being impeded by IT obstacles. As it became IT version 3.0 which represents the era of cloud services and the dominance of a new kind of IT service provider, cloud service providers (CSPs)' role is more critical as a trusted IT advisor to include cloud migration and integration expertise. However, previous literatures related to cloud computing service have mainly analyzed from customers, although it is hard for customers to totally understand the complex and diverse cloud ecosystem. Therefore, it is an urgent task to mitigate the inhibitory factors in providing the cloud services for activating cloud industry. This study, an exploratory research based on interviews, has derived factors of promoting and hindering the activation of cloud computing from the provider's perspective, and has analyzed a sequence of cause and effect for each factor. For this, the casual loop diagram was developed to deduce key issues, and propose an alternative. The results of this study are expected to help activate 'Cloud computing' in Korea by minimizing the potential negative effects of activating 'Cloud computing' industry.
In this paper, we develop a new conceptual framework for finding new business opportunities in the cloud computing environment. We propose a service model framework for cloud computing business. In the service concept of the proposed business model, we categorize customer needs and service offering value, while we analyze customer behavior for developing revenue model. In addition, we analyze cloud computing market drivers for finding an evolution path of the proposed business model. Finally, we develop cloud computing business strategies for Korean IT service industry.
As project opportunities for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry have grown more complex and larger, the utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies for three-dimensional (3D) design and simulation practices has been increasing significantly; the typical applications of the BIM technologies include clash detection and design alternative based on 3D planning, which have been expanded over to the technology of construction management in the AEC industry for virtual design and construction. As for now, commercial BIM software has been operated under a single-user environment, which is why initial costs for its introduction are very high. Cloud computing, one of the most promising next-generation Internet technologies, enables simple Internet devices to use services and resources provided with BIM software. Recently in Korea, studies to link between BIM and cloud computing technologies have been directed toward saving costs to build BIM-related infrastructure, and providing various BIM services for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study addressed development of the usage metering functions of BIM software under cloud computing architecture in order to archive and use BIM data and create an optimal revenue structure so that the BIM services may grow spontaneously, considering a demand for cloud resources. For the reason, we surveyed relevant cases, and then analyzed needs and requirements from AEC industry. Based on the relevant cases, customizing for cloud BIM and design for the development was performed. We also surveyed any related-law to support cloud computing-based BIM service. Finally, we proposed herein how to optimally design and develop the usage metering functions of cloud BIM software.
