The data were analyzed with the factor analysis, Chi-square analysis, t-test, F-test. The research shows: the tween generation rarely if ever buy their clothing by themselves, and they usually accompany their mothers when they purchase their clothes. In the 'size fitness', girl tweenage group prefers a perfect fit to an easy one. But boy tweenage group shows a different tendency from them. By investigating the present Apparel CAD education situations in college, the writer shows some data that are helpful to solve the problems in these parts. The purpose of this study is to give some helps in teaching the Apparel CAD in college. The results of this study are as followings, as the use of CAD systems is growing in the clothing industries, many colleges are concerned with the Apparel CAD. As a result, many colleges equip the Apparel CAD systems and the Apparel CAD is taught as special lectures, the part of other courses or regular course in many colleges. Apparel CAD should be taught as a regular course in colleges. And it should be taught systematically with Design CAD and Pattern CAD. But it is taught limitedly as special lectures, the part of other courses and post graduate studies. So it is impossible to educate the students professionally. As many colleges the CAD equipments are not opened to the students, the student's use of CAD systems are limited, so educational environment needs to improve to use CAD systems freely.

  • Korea and Japan, neighboring two nations, have similar cultural background and complicated relations in terms of their culture and constitution. In this study, clothing microclimate and subjective sensation of Korean and Japanese subjects for Hanbok, traditional costumes of Korea, were assessed and investigated differences between them. The results of the study were as follows. For Hanbok, the temperature within clothing at the chest have significant correlations with the variables of race and elapsed time with p<0.001. At the thigh, correlations with elapsed time were significant (p<0.001). For the humidity within clothing at the chest of Hanbok, correlations with variables of race were significant (p<0.001). At the thigh, correlations with race and elapsed time were significant(p<0.001). For Hanbok, Korean group reported 'slightly warm' whereas Japanese group reported 'hot' in the thermal sensation. For the humid sensation, Korean group reported 'neutral' and Japanese group reported 'humid'. For the comfort sensation, Korean group reported 'slightly uncomfortable' and Japanese group reported 'uncomfortable'. Japanese group reported high relation with comfort sensation and humidity of microclimate.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of fabric movement on wrinkle recovery in a clothing care system and to propose an algorithm to improve wrinkle removal performance by adjusting fabric movements. With an increase in the reciprocating speed of the movement system, the number and amplitude of curves on the fabric also increased. This allowed the fabric to be applied to a larger tension, resulting in better wrinkle removal performance at higher speeds. However, even at high reciprocating speeds, wrinkles could not be removed effectively because of nodes at a few specific locations. Based on the results of fabric movement and wrinkle recovery, a complex movement algorithm was proposed with a mixture of various reciprocation speeds. It showed a 41%p (24%→65%) improvement of wrinkle recovery when compared with the conventional algorithm that showed simple fabric movement at 180 rpm. This was because the positions of nodes and antinodes changed continuously and the force by the reciprocating motion could be applied evenly to the fabric.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of consumer's status type (status consistency and status inconsistency) on clothing expenditures. Data were obtained from Urban Household Economy Survey published by the National Statistical Office. Multiple regression analyses of variance and Scheffe tests were4 utilized in this study. The effect of the status inconsistency was categorized by three variables such as education occupation and income levels of households. The overprivileged status group which had higher levels of income than the levels of occupation of education spent most on clothing whereas the underprivileged status group which had higher levels of income than the levels of occupation of education spent least on clothing. This study showed that there were significant differences in clothing expenditures among status groups classified by levels of income and education or by levels of income and occupation. Among status group classified by levels of education and income there was a significant difference in clothing expenditures between overprivileged status group and underprivileged status group. In conclusion income has the strongest effect on the clothing expenditures. The results of study can help to understand consumer buying behavior and also give insights of marketing strategy in the apparel industry.

  • This study was intended to identify the information search behavior according to the risk perception and clothing involvement. The data were collected via a questionnaire from 369 students of Semyung University in Checheon and data were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, Cronbachs alpha and multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Multiple regression revealed the fact that each type of involvement dimensions were influenced by the risk perception dimensions. Among four involvement dimensions, importance of clothing was the best influenced factor according to the risk perceptions. 2. Also information search behavior was influenced by risk perception and fashion involvement. Among four information search behaviors, industry providing search was the best influenced factor by the risk perception and clothing involvement.
