치위생과 학생의 임상실습 교육 실태에 관한 조사연구 (The status of clinical practice for students in the department of dental hygiene)

  • The number of dental hygiene students is increasing as dental hygiene departments are extended or newly installed continuously, and in other to keep up with the quantitative increase, we need to standardize dental hygiene curriculums. The present study conducted a questionnaire survey with dental hygiene students who had completed clinical practice. The obtained results as follows. 1. According to the contents of clinical practice at dental clinics, the frequency of dental hygiene students' observation practice was high in basic medical service, dental prosthesis, and orthodontics. 2. The frequency of performance practice was high in basic medical service, oral medicine, preventive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, and oral surgery. According to the area of clinical practice. 3. According to the contents of clinical practice at university hospitals, the frequency of dental hygiene students' observation practice was high in basic medical service, dental prosthesis, and orthodontics. 4. The frequency of performance practice was high in basic medical service, oral medicine, preventive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, and dental prosthesis. 5. The students' satisfaction was high in basic medical service, oral medicine, preventive dentistry, and periodontology. The period of clinical practice varies according to school curriculum and circumstance among dental clinics and university hospitals where clinical practices are performed, students' satisfaction with their observation practice and performance practice may be different. Thus, for dental hygiene students' clinical practice, it is considered desirable to prepare integrated education programs that standardize the period and contents of clinical practice.

간호 대학생의 응급실 관찰 경험 (The Study about Nursing Students' Experience on Emergency Room Environment Observation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 종합병원 응급실 임상실습을 경험한 간호 대학생의 경험의 의미를 이해하고 서술함으로써 간호교육에서 효과적인 임상교육 전략을 개발하고 임상실습의 질을 향상하기 위함이다. 4학년 간호 대학생 30명에게 응급실 임상실습 동안 응급실의 상황에 대한 관찰경험을 서술하도록 한 후 서술 내용을 분석하여 의미를 도출하고 실행학습을 통하여 성찰학습의 의미로 분석하였다. 간호 대학생들의 응급실 임상실습 참여관찰 경험의 내용을 분석한 결과 도출된 주제는 '역동적인 간호사', '응급상황에 맞는 의사소통', '응급실 간호사는 교통정리 담당자'라는 긍정적인 주제와 '임시방편적인 사고', '환자보호자와 간호사의 갈등', '기계적인 움직임' 등의 부정적인 주제가 도출되었다. 연구의 활용과 관련하여 간호 대학생들의 응급실 관찰경험은 간호학생 측면에서는 자신의 미래 모습을 구체적으로 생각해보고 올바른 간호중재법에 대해 생각해보는 계기를 마련할 수 있으며, 간호교육측면에서는 효과적인 임상실무교육 전략 개발에 도움이 되는 기초적인 자료가 될 것이다.

동작관찰훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 기능에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Action Observational Training on Arm Function in People With Stroke)

  • The aim of this study was to determine the effect of action-observation training on arm function in people with stroke. Fourteen chronic stroke patients participated in action-observation training. Initially, they were asked to watch video that illustrated arm actions used in daily activities; this was followed by repetitive practice of the observed actions for 3 times a week for 3 weeks. Each training session lasted 30 min. All subject participated 12 training session on 9 consecutive training days. For the evaluation of the clinical status of standard functional scales, Wolf motor function test was carried out at before and after the training and at 2 weeks after the training. Friedman test and Wilcoxon signed rank test was used to analyze the results of the clinical test. There was a significant improvement in the upper arm functions after the 3-week action-observation training, as compared to that before training. The improvement was sustained even at two weeks after the training. This result suggest that action observation training has a positive additional impact on recovery of stroke-induced motor dysfunctions through the action observation-action execution matching system, which includes in the mirror neuron system.

아동간호실습 운영형태에 따른 간호학생의 임상실습수행도 및 실습만족도 (Clinical Practice Performance According to Type of Practices and Satisfaction of Clinical Practice in Students at Child Health Nursing)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore clinical practice performance according to type of practice in students in pediatric nursing and the relationship with satisfaction of clinical practice. Methods: The subjects consisted of 531 nursing students (307 at a pediatric ward and 224 at a nursery) from 5 colleges of nursing. Data collected from March to June 2012 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, AVONA and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Clinical practice performance on direct nursing activity was significantly different according to the course on pediatric nursing, grade point average, and satisfaction of nursing major. Observation practice was different according to type of college, the course on pediatric nursing, grade point average, duration of practice and clinical educator in the pediatric ward. In the nursery, direct nursing activity was significantly different according to the type of college, the course on pediatric nursing, hospital type, and duration of practice. Observation practice was different according to type of college, satisfaction of a nursing major, and the clinical educator. In addition, significant correlations were found between clinical practice performance and satisfaction of clinical practice. Conclusion: Our research can assist effective pediatric nursing practice planning for nursing students.

The potential of non-movement behavior observation method for detection of sick broiler chickens

  • The poultry industry, which produces excellent sources of protein, suffers enormous economic damage from diseases. To solve this problem, research is being conducted on the early detection of infection according to the behavioral characteristics of poultry. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the potential of a non-movement behavior observation method to detect sick chickens. Forty 1-day-old Ross 308 males were used in the experiments, and an isolator equipped with an Internet Protocol (IP) camera was fabricated for observation. The chickens were inoculated with Salmonella enterica serovar Gallinarum A18-GCVP-014, the causative agent of fowl typhoid (FT), at 14 days of age, which is a vulnerable period for FT infection. The chickens were continuously observed with an IP camera for 2 weeks after inoculation, chickens that did not move for more than 30 minutes were detected and marked according to the algorithm. FT infection was confirmed based on clinical symptoms, analysis of cardiac, spleen and liver lesion scores, pathogen re-isolation, and serological analysis. As a result, clinical symptoms were first observed four days after inoculation, and dead chickens were observed on day six. Eleven days after inoculation, the number of clinical symptoms gradually decreased, indicating a state of recovery. For lesion scores, dead chickens scored 3.57 and live chickens scored 2.38. Pathogens were re-isolated in 37 out of 40 chickens, and hemagglutination test was positive in seven out of 26 chickens. The IP camera applied with the algorithm detected about 83% of the chickens that died in advance through non-movement behavior observation. Therefore, observation of non-movement behavior is one of the ways to detect infected chickens in advance, and it appears to have potential for the development of remote broiler management system.

식도암의 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Observation of Esophageal Cancer)

  • Clinical observation is made in 29 cases of patients with esophageal cancer at Department of Chest Surgery in Chunnam University Hospital. 1] The prevalent age of male patient is fifth decade and of female is fourth and fifth decade. The average age of patient is 54 years old. 2] Duration of the disease before admission is relatively long, the duration within 7-9 months is 35% of all patients. 3] On the majority of patients, typical symptoms of esophageal cancer were manifested. 4] Operation was performed on 58% of all patients, in 23% curative and in 35% palliative resection was done.

감각통합에 기초한 임상 관찰 평가의 AI 측정 기술 적용 필요성을 위한 국내 작업치료사 인식 조사 (Domestic Occupational Therapist Awareness Survey for the Need to Apply Artificial Intelligence Measurement Technology for Clinical Observation Evaluation Based on Sensory Integration)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 국내 감각통합치료의 임상 관찰 평가 사용실태와 세부 항목별 결과 측정의 어려움 및 중요도를 알아보고 이를 통해 임상 관찰 측정에 있어 AI 측정 기술의 적용 유용성과 세부 항목별 적용 필요도를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 방법 : 연구 과정은 국내 작업치료사 31명에서 온라인 설문지 배포를 통해 조사 연구를 실시하였다. 설문지는 일반적 정보, 감각통합 평가 도구 사용 실태, 임상 관찰의 세부 항목별 측정의 어려움, AI 측정 기술의 유용성, 세부 항목별 평가의 중요성 및 AI 측정 기술 개발의 필요성을 조사하는 내용으로 구성되었다. 조사의 결과를 빈도분석과 기술통계를 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과 : 조사에 참여한 작업치료사들은 Sensory Profile(96.8%)을 가장 많이 사용하였고 그다음으로 임상 관찰(90.3%)을 많이 사용하였다. 임상 관찰 시 측정이 어려운 세부 항목은 Finger-to-nose Test와 Postural Control(on the 이었으며, 다음으로 Eye Movement와 Protective Extension Test(67.7%)였다. 임상 관찰 시 AI 측정 기술 적용은 83.9%의 연구 대상자들이 모두 유용할 것으로 응답하였다. AI 측정 기술 적용이 필요하다고 응답한 가장 높은 항목은 Postural Control(on the ball)(90.3%)이었고, 다음으로 Eye Movement(83.9%), Prone Extension과 Protective Extension Test(77.4%) 순으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구의 결과는 국내 아동 작업치료 현장에서 임상 관찰이 중요한 평가도구이며 임상 관찰 평가의 측정 정확성을 향상하기 위해서 AI 기술 적용이 필요하다는 작업치료사들의 인식을 확인할 수 있었다.

참여학습과 관찰학습의 실습만족도 및 임상수기술 (Satisfaction of Practice and Clinical Skill in Participation Learning and Observation Learning)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare satisfaction of practice and clinical skill in different participation learning and observation learning, and to offer the basic data to promote quality of nursing education. Method: The study used a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group post-test design. The subjects were 62 nursing students of K college in Jeonbuk, and the period of data gathering was limited from 19 Nov. 2006 to 30 Nov. 2006. Experience group was taught by hand-on education and control group was taught by conventional education. The instrument tools included self-efficacy, satisfaction of practice and clinical skill. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS-PC programme. Result: The results of this study were as follows: There was statistically a significance difference between the two group about satisfaction of practice(t=2.011 p=.043), and clinical skill(t=11.997, p=.000). Self-efficacy showed a significantly positive correlation with satisfaction of practice(r=.476, p=.000) and clinical skill(r=.178, p=.014). Also, satisfaction of practice showed a significantly positive correlation with clinical skill(r=.l82, p=.000). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study suggests that hand-on education is an effective learning method to nursing students. By utilizing hand-on education, makes nursing students plan self-directed nursing performance and improve their clinical skills.
