핵심기본간호술 실습교육이 간호학생의 자기효능감과 임상수행능력, 실습만족도에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Core Fundamental Nursing Skills Education on Self-efficacy, Clinical Competence and Practice Satisfaction in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to contribute to the development of efficient methods of nursing practice education by evaluating effects of core fundamental nursing skills education on self-efficacy, clinical competence and practice satisfaction in nursing students. Method: The research design was a one group pretest-posttest design and it was done to assess changes in self-efficacy and clinical competence from pre to the post-test which was given after the core fundamental nursing skills education was completed. Data were collected from September 5 to December 20, 2013 from 156 nursing students who were taking the 12-hours core fundamental nursing skills education at one university in Gyeonggi-do. This practicum was composed of 6 core fundamental nursing skills. Results: Self-efficacy and clinical competence scores improved. There was no significant difference in self-efficacy but there was a significant difference of clinical competence. In the subscales of clinical competence, the domain of nursing skill was scored the highest. The score for practice satisfaction was also high. Conclusion: The results indicate that the core fundamental nursing skills education is effective in improving clinical competence and practice satisfaction in nursing students. But new strategies are needed to improve self-efficacy.

Systematic Literature Review on Nursing Department Clinical Practice Research in Korea

  • Nursing majors are a combination of theoretical and practical education, and since the advisor cannot participate in all practices in clinical practice, the efficiency and effectiveness of practical education are limited in judging the results according to students' reactions. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the domestic literature on the efficiency of clinical practice of nursing college students.The analysis target was selected through PRISMA flow, and the results were derived through categorization and questioning based on content analysis. Looking at the results, research related to the adaptation of trainees was mainstream, and specifically, research related to the characteristics, conflicts, clinical practice environment, and interpersonal anguish of trainees was conducted. In addition, it was confirmed that active and systematic intervention of practical guidance professors was required, such as possible safety accidents, emotional labor problems, and dilemmas during the practice period. Through this study, it is suggested that a systematic framework for nursing and clinical practice should be prepared.

간호대학생의 임상실습생 권리 인식 경험 (Experiences of Perception of Nursing Students' Rights in Clinical Practice)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of perception of nursing students' rights participating in clinical practice. Methods: This descriptive study carried out purposeful sampling. The participants were 17 nursing students, who had experience of participating in clinical practice for more than 12 weeks. Data were collected through focus group interviews. Twelve subjects were in their third year and five in their fourth year. All were practicing in secondary general and tertiary university hospitals. The data were analyzed using classical content analysis method. Results: The researchers extracted 23 codes representing the nursing students' rights of clinical practice, which were grouped into 4 categories and 11 subcategories. The 4 categories were 'deep disappointment as an alienated person in a clinical field', 'clinical practice experience that cannot be given up despite difficulties', 'need for a practice environment that takes care of nursing students', and 'hope for support, advocacy and respect'. Conclusion: Nursing students cannot claim rights at this time, but expressed the desire to build a support system so that these parts can be improved in the future. Therefore, nursing education institutions and clinical fields should maintain diverse efforts through reciprocal relationships.

웹기반 인공호흡기 실무 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 학습이 간호학생의 지식과 임상수행능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Web-based Multimedia Contents for Mechanical Ventilator Practice on Knowledge and Clinical Competence of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of web-based learning for ventilator practice on the knowledge and clinical competence of nursing students. Method: The research design was a non-equivalent control group pre-post non-synchronized design. Twenty five nursing students were collected for the experimental group from August 23 to November 26, 2004 and nineteen nursing students for the control group from August 22 to November 25, 2005. All subjects experienced clinical practices in an intensive care unit of a hospital in G city for 2 weeks. The web-based learning for ventilator practice was conducted in the experimental group only. The data were analyzed with t-test and ANCOVA using SPSS 10.1 program. Result: The 2 week web-based clinical practice learning significantly improved the knowledge scores for the experimental group, however, there was no significant differences in the score for the clinical competence between experimental and control group. Conclusion: These findings suggest that a self-directed web-based learning for ventilator practice of nursing students can facilitate the knowledge of care for a ventilated patient. Therefore, faculties should develop a variety of web-based multimedia content programs for clinical instruction based on clinical situation.

실습지도자를 활용(preceptorship)한 주문식 선택실습의 평가연구 (An Evaluation Study of the Practical Application of Preceptorship in an Ordered Elective Clinical Nursing Practice)

  • Purpose: This study was done to use preceptorship in an ordered elective clinical nursing practice and to evaluate the effects on student nurses, nurses managers and preceptors. Method: The participants in this study were 208 students who were majors in the department of nursing, G college located in Inchon Metropolitan City, 54 nurse managers and 187 preceptors from 11 general hospitals. The instrument was a questionnaire which included general characteristics of participants, and 21 items to evaluate the ordered elective clinical nursing practice on a scale of 1 to 4. Data were collected from October 23 to November 7. 2004. Data analysis was done using SPSS WIN with the following statistics: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and ANOVA. Results and Conclusions: The results of data analysis were as follows: There were meaningful differences in the evaluation scores of the ordered elective clinical nursing practice with preceptors between students ($3.33{\pm}.39$) and nurse managers ($3.33{\pm}.28$) and preceptors ($3.23{\pm}.38$). Evaluation scores for the ordered elective clinical nursing practice with preceptors were categorized as follows: necessity and appropriateness, practice control and management, material for practice, practice report assignment and evaluation, practice ability improvement and connection with getting a job, and contribution to the hospitals.

간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스와 소진과의 관계에서 공감의 매개효과 (Clinical Practice Stress and Burnout in Nursing Students: The Mediating Effect of Empathy)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to examine the relationships between clinical practice stress and burnout, and the mediating role of empathy in nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional research design was employed. One hundred seventeen nursing students completed questionnaires on clinical practice stress, empathy (perspective-taking, fantasy, empathic concern and personal distress) and burnout in December 2017. IBM SPSS Statistics 23 was used and descriptive statistics, frequency, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression were conducted. Baron & Kenny method and Sobel test were adopted for analysis of the mediation effect (personal distress of empathy). Results: The mean scores of clinical practice stress and burnout were 3.45 and 43.09, and perspective-taking, fantasy, empathic concern and personal distress of empathy were 2.67, 2.42, 2.64 and 2.19, respectively. The highest relationship between clinical practice stress and empathy was personal distress of empathy (r=.32, p<.001). Burnout was positively associated with clinical practice stress and personal distress of empathy (r=.22, p=.015; r=.51, p<.001). Personal distress of empathy demonstrated a complete mediating effect on the relationship between clinical practice stress and burnout (Z=3.22, p=.001). Conclusion: These results showed that decreasing personal distress of empathy is important for nursing students, and may help in reducing clinical practice stress and burnout.

간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스에 영향을 주는 요인 (Affecting Factors on Stress of Clinical Practice in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스에 영향을 주는 요인을 확인하기 위해 시행되었다. 임상실습을 경험한 간호대학생 191명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 SPSS/WIN 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 간호대학생의 대인관계능력 3.61점(5점), 눈치 3.57점(5점), 임상실습스트레스 2.97점(5점)으로 나타났다. 임상실습스트레스에 영향을 주는 요인은 대인관계능력, 눈치-행동이었고, 대인관계능력과 눈치-행동이 높을수록 임상실습스트레스가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이들 변인은 간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스를 설명하는데 23%의 영향력을 나타내었다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스를 감소시킬 수 있는 방안을 마련하는데 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

간호대학 임상실습강사의 역할 경험 (Clinical Instructors' Role Experience in College of Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the clinical instructors' role experience in college of nursing. Method: Two focus group interviews were held with a total of 12 clinical instructors. All interviews were recorded and transcribed as they were spoken, and the collected data were analyzed using content analysis of Downe-Wamboldt(1992). Results: Three themes and six subthemes were extracted from the analysis: 1) Getting recognition of special roles as a clinical instructor: 'Recognizing the role of clinical instructor for guiding student's individual practice goals', 'Recognizing helping and supporting roles for student's successful clinical practice', 2) Having difficulty in performing the role of clinical practice instructor: 'Difficulty from the lack of knowledge and experience as a clinical practice instructor', 'Difficulty from the gap between current clinical practice and purpose of clinical nursing practice', 3) Making efforts to overcome the difficulties as a clinical instructor and accomplishing personal development: 'Making efforts to acquire personal knowledge and experience', 'Making a chance to reflect on and grow up oneself'. Conclusion: Clinical instructors take an important part of clinical nursing education. To improve the quality of clinical nursing education, it is needed role reestablishment and institutional support for clinical instructors on the basis of the understanding of instructors' experience.

간호대학생의 실습소속감, 전공만족도, 직업가치관이 진로정체감에 미치는 영향 (The effect of clinical practice belonging, satisfaction with major, and work values on career identity of nursing students)

  • Purpose: This exploratory study aims to identify the influence of clinical practice belonging, satisfaction with major, and work values on the level of career identity among nursing students. Methods: The subjects of this study are 251 senior students from three nursing departments located in a metropolitan city. Using SPSS 22.0, the study uses technical statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The average scores for clinical practice belonging, satisfaction with major, and work values were 3.61, 3.87, and 3.70 out of 5.00, respectively, and 2.85 out of 4.00 for career identity. The factors affecting students' career identity were clinical practice belonging, aptitude, satisfaction with clinical practice, satisfaction with major, indoor work, service and employment at hospitals with 40 percent being explained by these variables. Conclusion: Through this study we found that clinical practice belonging has the greatest impact on career identity. In order to enhance clinical practice belonging, universities and clinical institutions need to develop new programs and curricula.

고위험 신생아간호에 관한 시뮬레이션 실습과 신생아집중치료실 실습의 스트레스와 만족도 (Stress and Satisfaction from Simulation-based Practice and Clinical Practice on High-risk Newborn Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare practice stress and practice satisfaction between clinical practice and simulation-based practice groups. Methods: A total of 159 nursing students (85 in the simulation group and 74 in the NICU group) participated in the study. Research tools measuring practice stress and practice satisfaction were used. Data was analyzed utilizing a t-test, Mann Whitney U-test, and descriptive statistics. Results: The simulation group showed a lower level of practice stress(practice instruction, practice evaluation, interpersonal relationship) a higher level of practice satisfaction compared with the NICU group. Conclusion: Simulation-based practice is an effective learning method for high-risk newborn nursing and can be used as an alternative to clinical practice.
