치위생과 학생의 임상실습 교육 실태에 관한 조사연구 (The status of clinical practice for students in the department of dental hygiene)

  • The number of dental hygiene students is increasing as dental hygiene departments are extended or newly installed continuously, and in other to keep up with the quantitative increase, we need to standardize dental hygiene curriculums. The present study conducted a questionnaire survey with dental hygiene students who had completed clinical practice. The obtained results as follows. 1. According to the contents of clinical practice at dental clinics, the frequency of dental hygiene students' observation practice was high in basic medical service, dental prosthesis, and orthodontics. 2. The frequency of performance practice was high in basic medical service, oral medicine, preventive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, and oral surgery. According to the area of clinical practice. 3. According to the contents of clinical practice at university hospitals, the frequency of dental hygiene students' observation practice was high in basic medical service, dental prosthesis, and orthodontics. 4. The frequency of performance practice was high in basic medical service, oral medicine, preventive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, and dental prosthesis. 5. The students' satisfaction was high in basic medical service, oral medicine, preventive dentistry, and periodontology. The period of clinical practice varies according to school curriculum and circumstance among dental clinics and university hospitals where clinical practices are performed, students' satisfaction with their observation practice and performance practice may be different. Thus, for dental hygiene students' clinical practice, it is considered desirable to prepare integrated education programs that standardize the period and contents of clinical practice.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 시뮬레이션 실습교육이 간호대학생의 임상판단력, 자신감, 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 효과를 파악하고자 실시되었으며 단일군 사전-사후 실험연구이다. 연구 대상자는 S지역에 소재한 간호학과 2학년 시뮬레이션 실습교과목을 수강한 45명의 학생으로 자료는 설문지를 이용하여 시뮬레이션 실습교육 전 후에 수집되었다. 연구결과 임상판단력, 자신감, 임상수행능력 모두가 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 그러므로 시뮬레이션 실습교육이 간호대학생의 임상판단력과 자신감, 임상수행능력에 미치는 긍정적인 효과를 확인하였다. 추후 임상판단력, 자신감, 임상수행능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 시뮬레이션 실습교육의 모듈 개발 및 효과를 검증할 수 있는 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

임상콘텐츠모형 산출물 홍보와 운영을 위한 관리시스템 개발 (A Development of Management System for Publication and Operation of Clinical Contents Model's Outcomes)

  • 본 논문에서는 임상콘텐츠모형(Clinical Contents Model; CCM) 산출물의 효율적인 개발과 배포 및 홍보를 지원하는 관리시스템인 CCM Manager를 개발했다. CCM의 개발과정에서부터 산출물 관리 및 배포까지의 업무 프로세스를 분석하여 관리자 기능과 사용자 기능을 도출했고, CCM 아키텍처를 기반으로 데이터베이스를 설계하였으며 각 사용자들이 쉽게 접근하여 내용을 검색할 수 있도록 하기 위해 웹 기반으로 개발하였다. CCM Manager는 모델 개발자 상호간의 개발된 결과물이 잘 공유될 수 있게 지원하고, 관리자가 수작업으로 산출물을 패키지화하여 배포하지 않아도 일반 사용자에게 CCM의 모델 형식의 산출물을 배포하고 홍보할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구는 다양한 검색 기능과 시각화된 모델 브라우징 방식을 제공하고, 관리자 기능까지 포함한다는 측면에서 타 임상정보모델 지원시스템에 비해 우수함을 보인다. 본 연구에서 개발된 CCM Manager는 현재 CCM 개발 프로세스에서 활용되고 있으며, 그 결과를 바탕으로 향후 CCM Manager 활용에 대한 효용성 분석이 이루어질 전망이다.

기본간호학 실습교육현황과 실습내용 개선을 위한 조사 연구 (A Study on the Contents of Fundamental Nursing Practice)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental data for determining contents of Fundamental Nursing Practice and developing desirable bedside nursing techniques for clinical nursing areas. Subjects for this study were 86 nurses who were employees of two university hospitals located in Seoul and a district area. Data were collected by questionnaires. Items of Fundamental Nursing Practice were classified into 72 items according to the result from content analysis of 9 textbooks of Fundamental Nursing. The results are as follows : 1) Items which above 80% of respondents practiced during the school inside practice or clinical nursing practice course were axillary temperature measurement, radial pulse measurement, respiratory rate measurement, application of oral hygiene, hand-washing technique, application of hot and cold bags, intramuscular injection technique, open bed-making, soap enema method, application of nelaton catheterization and oral and nasal suction methods. 2) Above 90% of respondents replied that all items except temperature measurement and bed-making were requisite contents for Fundamental Nursing Practice. Above 10% of respondents replied oral and rectal temperature measurement and bed-making were unnecessary content. 3) Above 90% of respondents replied that operating methods of all items except isolation technique, admission and discharge procedures, and retention enema in the Fundamental Nursing Practice course and clinical situation were consistent. The main reasons that respondents did not apply methods which they learned in the Fundamental Nursing Practice course to the clinical situation were 'insufficient time', 'colleagues were using different methods', 'insufficient supply of instuments' or 'inappropriate appliances'.

Effect of a Web-enhanced Clinical Practicum on Learning Outcome of Adult Nursing Practicum in Nursing Students

  • This study was conducted to develop Web-based multimedia content that assists undergraduate students in a clinical practicum on adult nursing. The study examined whether students in the intervention group could obtain clinical knowledge and perform more effectively when encouraged to learn Web content as compared with students in the conventional group. Web-based multimedia content consisting of 13 learning modules was developed based on real patients' scenarios through collaboration among college professors. A total of 120 nursing students (74 for the intervention and 46 for the conventional groups) from two universities in G-city, who engaged in a 3-week long clinical practicum in the digestive and respiratory units of a university hospital, participated in the study. Students' knowledge, self-directed learning, and clinical performance ability were measured using self-administered questionnaires. Data for pre- and posttests were collected over a 2-month period, between May and June of 2009. Clinical knowledge and self-reported clinical performance scores were significantly higher in students using the Web-enhanced clinical practicum than in those in the conventional group. However, there was no significant difference in self-directed learning ability between the 2 groups. These results demonstrate that Web-based multimedia content can be an effective educational tool for enhancing students' clinical knowledge and performance.

네트워크 분석을 이용한 불면의 무작위임상시험 해외 연구 동향 (Research Trends of Randomized Clinical Trial for Insomnia Using the Network Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 불면과 관련된 무작위임상시험의 해외 연구 동향을 살펴보기 위하여 시계열적 키워드 비교 분석 및 네트워크 분석을 실시하였다. 분석에 사용된 자료는 'Insomnia'와 'Randomized Clinical Trial'의 연관 키워드를 사용하여 ClinicalTrials의 379건, Web of Science의 132건을 선정하였다. 분석 결과, ClinicalTrials에서는 불면과 약물요법을 중심으로 인지행동요법, 우울 등의 키워드가 네트워크를 이루고 있었다. WOS에서는 ClinicalTrials의 결과에 멜라토닌 키워드가 추가적으로 나타났다. 또한, 연구 대상자 중 특징적으로 노인과 여성에 대한 연구가 꾸준히 진행되는 것으로 파악되었다.

약학대학 실기시험 문항개발에 대한 제언 (Proposal of Pharmacy School Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) Contents and Test Methods)

  • Competencies of entry-level pharmacists are evaluated by multiple-choice questions (MCQ) examination and objective structured clinical examination (OSCE). OSCE helps to evaluate student's communication skills and attitudes, which are difficult to evaluate by the MCQ exam. In Korea, pharmacy OSCE is not implemented; however, the needs of OSCE is growing. This study proposed OSCE exam contents and exam methods that can be implemented in colleges of pharmacy. Further study is needed to develop OSCE scenarios and questions, validate examination questions and evaluation methods by performing a pilot study, and provide feedback on the curriculum and study methods.

치과위생사의 안전한 법적 업무범위 확보를 위한 연구 (A study on the dental hygienists' legal scope of clinical practice)

  • Objectives: This study investigates the dental hygienist's main duties in clinical dental practice and examine whether dental hygienists can safely perform each duty by referring to the educational contents of dental hygiene departments and national examinations of dental hygienists. Methods: A questionnaire on the main duties of dental hygienists was administered to 477 clinical dental hygienists working at dental clinics and hospitals, general dental hospitals, and university dental hospitals in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Incheon. We divide the dental hygienists' clinical dental hygiene practice and clinical dental assist and analyze the legal scope of practice, university educational contents, and national examination contents. Statistical analysis was performed through frequency analysis, and multi-frequency data were analyzed using Excel 2013. Results: All 48 items (except 2 items of 29 dental hygiene practice and 21 assist practice items) surveyed were covered in the National Examination for Dental Hygienists and included in the Dental Hygiene Education Learning Objective. The multi-frequency clinical dental practice of eight items of clinical dental hygiene practice and two assist practice items were within the legal scope of the dental hygienist's role. Conclusions: Further discussions are needed to redefine the legal scope of the role of the dental hygienist.

ICH-GCP와 선진 각국의 GCP 비교 (Comparison of Current GCPs on the Basis of the Contents in ICH-GCP)

  • To make a proposal for the revision of KGCP, ICH Harmonized Tripartite Guideline for Good Clinical Practice, which is on the stage of worldwide implementation, was compared with current GCPs of tripartite countries of ICH, namely USA, Europe and Japan as well as Korea. On the basis of the classification in ICH GCP, comprehensive comparisons among the corresponding articles of 4 regions or countries were made in the order of IRB / IEC, Investigator, Sponsor and Clinical Trial Protocol. Based on the comparisons of the contents in ICH-GCP with those in current GCPs, major suggestions for the revision of current KGCP can be made as follows. Firstly, the function of IRB / IEC needs to be strengthened for the initiation and continuation of clinical trial. Current 2-step approval system of IRB / IEC and Health Authorities requires to be converted into the system similar to that of developed countries. Secondly, sponsor's obligation needs to be tightened to control and assure the quality of clinical trial. Inspection of regulatory authorities should be made to perform during and / or after clinical trial, when it is necessary. In other words, sponsor should be made to establish written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of clinical trial including monitoring to ensure that trials are conducted and data are generated, documented, and reported in compliance with the protocol, GCP, and the applicable regulatory requirement (s). Besides, the provision of ‘Quality Control and Quality Assurance’ should be added to the protocol to establish the credibility of the result of the clinical trial.

간호대학생의 임상실습 스트레스, 그릿, 자기효능감이 임상 수행 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Clinical Practice Stress, Grit and Self-Efficacy on Clinical Competency in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 임상실습 스트레스, 그릿, 자기효능감, 임상 수행 능력 간의 상관관계를 파악하고 임상 수행 능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 시행되었다. 경북 G시 소재 일개 간호학과에 재학 중인 3, 4학년 학생 160명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 임상 수행 능력은 임상실습 스트레스와 음의 상관관계(r=-.383, p<.001), 그릿(r=.310, p<.001), 자기 효능감과(r=.327, p<.001)는 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 간호대학생의 임상 수행 능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 임상실습 스트레스(β=-.37, p<.001), 임상실습 만족도β=.35, p<.001), 자기 효능감(β=.31, p<.001), 그릿(β=.28, p<.001) 순으로 나타났으며 설명력은 42.8%로 나타났다. 이 연구 결과를 바탕으로 간호대학생의 임상 수행 능력을 향상하기 위해서는 임상실습 스트레스를 줄이고 임상실습에 만족하도록 해주어야 하며, 이와 더불어 자기 효능감과 그릿을 향상하는 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다.
