Purpose: This exploratory study aims to identify various factors influencing the level of nursing professionalism among nursing students. Methods: This study surveyed 246 senior nursing students in U city with a structured self-report questionnaire analyzed with SPSS 22.0. Results: The average scores for clinical practice learning environment, self-leadership, clinical practice belonging, and nursing professionalism were 3.16, 3.77, 3.53, and 3.60, respectively. There were significant differences in nursing professionalism according to the subjects' satisfaction with the nursing major and satisfaction with the amount of nursing. The most significant factors affecting nursing professionalism included clinical practice learning environment (${\beta}=.40$, p<.001), self-leadership (${\beta}=.21$, p=.001), and clinical practice belonging (${\beta}=.16$, p=.011). These variables explained 39% of the total variance in nursing professionalism. Conclusion: Clinical practice learning environment, self-leadership, and clinical practice belonging are factors in the nursing professionalism of senior nursing students. Collaborative efforts by universities and clinics are needed to improve the clinical training environment and to produce good nurses. Particularly since few studies have been conducted in Korea on clinical practice belonging, it is meaningful to explore how clinical practice belonging affects nursing professionalism.
Background : The purpose of this study is to provide information for making positive interpersonal relations by understanding the degree of difficulties of personal relations that physical therapy students may have on clinical practice. Methods : The study has been made based on the survey results of 10 university that completed clinical practice physical therapy students. The survey was conducted through direct contact and mail between October 1 and December 10, 2013, and analysed 291 survey sheets. Results : The results reveal that clinical instructor's attitude toward students was satisfying(71.82%). The results reveal that students felt convenient when faced with other department staffs in the hospital(70.44%). The results reveal that students didn't feel uncomfortable when they addressed themselves to patients(83.85%). The results reveal that students didn't feel uncomfortable when they were working with other college students(74.57%). Conclusions : The results of the study indicate that educators who are developing clinical practice programs and clinical practitioners should consider stressors during clinical practice and the educational implications to physical therapy students.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the types of perception toward non-face-to-face clinical practice and to characterize the types of students who experienced online clinical practice during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Methods: Q-methodology was used in this study, and 270 Q populations were formed based on in-depth interviews with 10 nursing students who had experienced non-face-to-face clinical practice, as well as related literature. Interviews were performed from August 1 to 31, 2022. A total of 42 Q samples were extracted, and Q sorting was performed on 33 nursing students who had experienced non-face-to-face clinical practice. A Q factor analysis was performed using the PC-QUANL program. Results: The nursing students' perceptions of non-face-to-face clinical practice were classified into the following five types: "future professional competency-focused type," "realistic convenience priority type," "task burden awareness type," "negative critic type," and "limited experience dissatisfaction type." Conclusion: This study revealed non-face-to-face clinical practice's positive and negative aspects in nursing education. Moreover, it identified the aspects of clinical practice that cannot be replaced by non-face-to-face clinical practice and the elements of non-face-to-face practice that can complement clinical practice. These findings can be used as fundamental data to establish a stable and efficient system for improving the quality of clinical practice in the post-COVID-19 era and to implement effective non-face-to-face clinical practice according to student types.
Purpose: This study was done to investigate the relationship of self efficacy, self-directedness and practice satisfaction to clinical practice for nursing students. Method: The participants were 122 nursing students in clinical practice. They responded to questionnaires that included measures of self efficacy, self-directedness and clinical practice satisfaction. Results: The average self efficacy score was 3.70, self-directedness, 3.66 and clinical practice satisfaction, 3.44. Self efficacy showed a significant difference according to gender with men having higher scores (t=-2.82, p= .005). Clinical practice satisfaction showed a significant difference according to motivation for nursing (F=3.86, p= .011), and location of clinical practice (F=3.73, p= .006). Self efficacy had a significant positive correlation to self-directedness (r= .755, p< .001) and clinical practice satisfaction (r= .379, p< .001). Self-directedness had a significant correlation with clinical practice satisfaction (r= .412, p< .001). Conclusion: After clinical practice, self efficacy, self-directedness and clinical practice satisfaction in nursing students were relative higher. Self efficacy, self-directedness were affected by clinical practice satisfaction.
Purpose: In this study, the relationship between self-leadership, stress, and satisfaction among nursing students in clinical practice was examined. Method: The participants were 273 nursing students. Data collected from September to December 2010 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean scores for self-leadership ($3.72{\pm}.41$), stress ($3.45{\pm}.59$), and satisfaction ($3.11{\pm}.38$) in clinical practice were above average. Self-leadership was significantly different according to year, interpersonal relationships, and satisfaction with nursing as a major. Stress in clinical practice was significantly different according to gender, year, and health status. Satisfaction in clinical practice was significantly different according to year, interpersonal relationships, and satisfaction with nursing as a major. Significant correlations were found between self-leadership and satisfaction in clinical practice, and stress and satisfaction in clinical practice. Year, self-leadership, interpersonal relationships, and stress in clinical practice were factors influencing satisfaction in clinical practice (20.0%). Conclusion: These findings indicate that there is a need to improve self-leadership, and to lessen stress in clinical practice to improve nursing students' satisfaction with clinical practice. The above-mentioned results should be reflected in the development of effective teaching methods for clinical practice.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the conceptual structure of stressors experienced by nursing students during clinical practice. Methods: Ten men and 10 women nursing college students were interviewed. The results were 208 ideas. By synthesizing and editing these ideas, the final statement was trimmed down to 39 questions. The next step was to have the participants classify these 39 final questions. They were asked to rate stress scores using a five-point scale. Through multidimensional scaling analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis yielded dimensions and clusters. Results: Results of the study showed 2 dimensions which were classified as 'interpersonal relationship-practice system' and 'identity-practice environment'. It also yielded 8 clusters which were classified as 'role confusion', 'gender discrimination', 'attitudes of medical personnel and patients', 'comparison between fellow students', 'difference between theory and practice', 'disestablishing the role of practice guide', 'interference with training', and 'problems of the practice environment'. Further, stress factors and stress levels were differentiated depending on the gender of the student. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that educators who are developing clinical practice programs and clinical practitioners should consider stressors during clinical practice and the educational implications to nursing students.

Purpose: This study attempted to provide the basic data for the institutional improvement of the clinical practice of physical therapy department students. Methods: Research for this study included 390 participants used for the analysis of the present study. The statistical analysis was of the characteristics and satisfaction of the clinical practices of subjects, the reasons for major employment preferences before and after clinical practices, and the preferred institution and field of major employment before and after clinical practice. Results: The general characteristics of students of the physical therapy department include females in their third year of college at age 20~24 years-old. As well, no religion, usual satisfaction with major, and motivation of choosing a physical therapy employment rate were the most common. A residency type in the form where one would cook one's own food and a clinical practice with a general hospital grade were seen most often. Regarding preference of major employment before and after clinical practice, the preference of major employment was 88%, which increased by 5.2% after clinical practice from 82.8% before clinical practice. The preference for no major employment due to lack of interest and no aptitude increased 43.5% from 23.9% after clinical practice. Conclusion: The number of apprentices will increase despite practice institutions being limited; for practice of environment, content, etc., relatively changes are slow, and progress rapidly medical technology. It is a society in which expertise is required; in the present study, there is a value in providing the clinical data missing in physical therapy.
Purpose. The purpose of this study was descriptive research to evaluate the clinical competency and nursing professionalism values before and after nursing clinical practice in nursing students. Methods. The data collected from 100 nursing students by the study period was from December 10, 2013 ~ November 12, 2014 to measure the performance and clinical care professional intuition. The collected data were analyzed by paired t-test, ANOVA, correlation. Results. Clinical practice before performance was $3.48({\pm}.38)$, after practice $3.79({\pm}.40)$ was a professional nursing practice before intuition $3.90({\pm}.41)$, after the practice was $3.74({\pm}.40)$, clinical performance and the nursing profession is positive found to be correlated. Conclusions. This study suggests that development of research programs to improve care professional intuition in nursing college is necessary as results.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dental hygiene students' clinical practice stress, satisfaction and major satisfaction on career preparation behaviors. Methods:This study was conducted targeting the dental hygiene students who have clinical practice experience. The final 305 subjects were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program. Results: The correlation between clinical practice stress and career satisfaction and career preparation behavior decreases with the higher degree of clinical practice and career preparation behavior. Analysis results about the affecting factors on the level of satisfaction with major satisfaction factors showed the highest factor of preparation behavior, followed by clinical practice and clinical practice stress in order. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that the higher the satisfaction of clinical practice and the higher the satisfaction of career, the more positive the career preparation behavior. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the autonomy of dental hygiene students after clinical practice and their satisfaction with the clinical practice in an effort to determine how to manage courses in need of practice and how to provide education and guidance on clinical practice. A survey was conducted on the students in a three-year college in Gyeonggi Province, and the data from 295 respondents were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. As for autonomy, the subjects got a mean of 3.60 in respect for others, and 3.40 in respect for themselves. 2. In regard to satisfaction with clinical practice, they gave the highest score of 3.58 to the content of the clinical practice, and they gave the lowest score of 3.09 to practice hours. 3. They gave higher scores to autonomy of clinical practice when their awareness of dental hygienist at the time of college admission and after experiencing the clinical practice was better and when they were more satisfied with their major. 4. They gave the highest scores to satisfaction with the clinical practice when they voluntarily chose the department of dental hygiene in terms of motivation for major selection, when their awareness of dental hygiene at the time of college admission and after experiencing the clinical practice was better and when they were more satisfied with their major. 5. The students who gave higher scores to autonomy of the clinical practice were more satisfied with the practice.
