Methods : Subjects were 250 dental hygiene majoring students in J area from March 20 to April 20, 2012. Data were analyzed using the statistical package SPSS WIN 12.0 for frequency, mean and standard deviation analysis, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression. Results : There were significant differences between Satisfaction and clinical practice, practice and major stress factors(p<0.01). There were significant differences between practices, satisfaction, and self-expectations(p<0.001). The explanatory power of the model was 9%(p<0.05). The combination of self-leadership, activity, interpersonal factors were very important factors and the explanatory power of the model was 8%(p<0.001). • Purpose: This study explored the values and attitudes toward the death of paramedic students. It comprehensively investigated paramedic students' first encounters with death during their clinical practice. Methods: Between December 2022 and January 2023, in-depth interviews were conducted with seven paramedic students who underwent clinical practice. Their experiences with death and grievances were explored by applying Colaizzi's (1978) phenomenological research method. Results: After exploring and analyzing the collected data, the context and meaning of the phenomenon were integrated. Resultingly, five major categories and 16 subcategories were derived. Conclusion: Universities should introduce a practical curriculum on experiences with death to reduce the negative emotions associated with death that paramedic students experience during their clinical practice and convert them into opportunities for reflection and growth.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify types and characteristics of anger expression in clinical nurses. Methods: Q methodology was used to analyze each individual participant's subjectivity on anger expression. A total of forty clinical nurses arranged 32 pre-selected Q statement cards on a 9 point scale, shaping the cards' pile into a normal distribution. Then the data from the arranged cards were analyzed using the QUANL PC Program. Results: Three types of anger expression were identified; 'reasonably overcoming', 'emotionally expressing', and 'internally mitigating' including both positive and negative aspects. Conclusion: Adequate strategies to resolve anger in clinical nurses needs to be developed according to anger expression types.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing the clinical competence of nursing students. Methods : The participants of this study were 209 nursing students who were in 3rd and 4th grade. The collected data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results : Clinical competence had positive relationships with self-leadership (r=.59, p <.001) and resilience (r=.64, p <.001). Clinical competence was influenced by resilience (𝛽=.45), self-leadership (𝛽=.20), and grade (𝛽=.20), with an explanatory power of 44.9%. Conclusions : Based on these results, it is suggested that future nursing education should develop a curriculum that enhances students' personal abilities such as self-leadership and resilience, rather than only teaching knowledge and skills.

  • Prediction is a significant topic in clinical research. The development and validation of a prediction model has been increasingly published in clinical research. In this review, we investigated analytical methods and validation schemes for a clinical prediction model used in digestive cancer research. Deep learning and logistic regression, with split-sample validation as an internal or external validation, were the most commonly used methods. Furthermore, we briefly introduced and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Finally, we discussed several points to consider when conducting prediction model studies.

  • Objectives : This research identified the frequency and satisfaction level of the observation and performance practice during the clinical practice process conducted by dental hygiene students. With the goal of providing base data required for the development and operation of increasingly effective clinical practice program and for the improvement of the existing clinical practice training. Methods : The subjects in this study were 278 students of a university located in Masan. Survey comprised of 49 questions in 10 clinical practice domains was conducted. Results : 1. As for the observation practice by each grade, there was significant difference in oral radiology, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, oral surgery(p<0.05). As for the performance practice executed for each grade, there was significant difference in the oral radiology, preventive dentistry and oral surgery(p<0.05). As for the satisfaction level for each grade, there was significant difference in basic medical service(p<0.05). 2. As for the observation practice by each clinical practice institution, there was significant difference in oral medicine, oral radiology, preventive dentistry, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and oral surgery(p<0.05). As for the performance practice executed by each practice institution, there was significant difference in basic medical service, oral medicine, oral radiology, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery(p<0.05). As for the satisfaction level by each practice institution, there was significant difference in the oral radiology, preventive dentistry, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery(p<0.05). Conclusions : As for the satisfaction level for the clinical practice, basic medical service is the crimary care clinical practice which is most basic and that is executed the most in a dental clinic. Satisfaction level was the highest in the domains where there were extensive observation and practice frequency. By conducting observation and practice frequency in the clinical practice process by each clinical practice domain in a broad and diverse manner, it would be possible to improve the ability of the clinical practice trainees who improve their clinical work execution capability and satisfaction level on the clinical practice.

  • Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate ICU nurses' clinical competence according to clinical ladder by job analysis tool for the evaluation tool development of clinical ladder development program, Methods: Data was collected using the ICU nurses job analysis tool from 148 ICU nurses who work for 6 ICUs of A hospital in S city, Results: The mean clinical competence score of the subjects was 3.03 on a 4 point scale, Competence score was increasing as ICU clinical ladder was higher (F=35.18, p<.001). Step_1 was the lowest and step_4 was higher than step_3 from Scheffe post hoc test, Result of multiple regression showed that ICU clinical ladder and ICU clinical nursing education explained 52.1% (F=38.83, p<.001) of ICU nurse's clinical competence. Conclusion: ICU nurses' clinical competence can be evaluated using ICU nurse's job analysis tool. Further researches is needed on job description according to clinical ladder for performance and evaluation.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of constructing clinical knowledge with clinical concept relations and predicting diseases based on a deep learning model to support clinical decision-making. Clinical terms in UMLS(Unified Medical Language System) and cancer-related medical knowledge are classified into five categories. Medical related documents in Wikipedia are extracted using the classified clinical terms. Clinical concept relations are established by matching the extracted medical related documents with the extracted clinical terms. After deep learning using clinical knowledge, a disease is predicted based on medical terms expressed in a query. Thereafter, medical terms related to the predicted disease are selected as an extended query for clinical document retrieval. To validate our method, we have experimented on TREC Clinical Decision Support (CDS) and TREC Precision Medicine (PM) test collections.
