  • This paper describes a multi-functional EEG (electroencephalogram) software. The software manages the patient's EEG data systematically and analyzes the signal and display the parameters on a PC monitor in real-time. Since the software provides various parameters simultaneously, user can observe patients multilaterally. Reference patterns of CSA and DSA can be captured and displayed on top of the monitor. And user can mark events of surgical operation or patient's conditions, so it is possible to jump to the points of events directly, when reviewing the recorded file afterwards. Many convenient functions are equipped and these are operated by mouse clicks.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of TMJ sounds by computerized sound power-spectrum analyser(SONOPAK, Bioresearch Inc., U.S.A.). TMJ sounds were recorded and anaylsed in the 87 patients wit TMJ noises by SONOPAK. The followings are the criteria of TMJ sound analysis. 1. It is possible to record the location of the TMJ sound in relation to the opening/closing cycle of mouth. 2. It is possible to record amplitude of sound(loudness) and frequency of sound (Hz) 3. Clicks display a narrow band of sound within the 0-300 Hz range. The peak frequency generally occurs between 50-150 Hz. And crepitus appear as a wide band of sound, occuring from 0-1300Hz. The data obtained from quantitative TMJ sound analysis give lots of information, but further researches are needed.

  • This paper deals with speech enhancement methods using the wavelet transform. A cycle-spinning scheme and undecimated wavelet transform are used for denoising of speech signals, and then their results are compared with that of the conventional wavelet transform. We apply soft-thresholding technique for removing additive background noise from noisy speech. The symlets 8-tap wavelet and pyramid algorithm are used for the wavelet transform. Performance assessments based on average SNR, cepstral distance and informal subjective listening test are carried out. Experimental results demonstrate that both cycle-spinning denoising(CSD) method and undecimated wavelet denoising(CWD) method outperform conventional wavelet denoising(UWD) method in objective performance measure as welt as subjective listening test. The two methods also show less "clicks" that usually appears in the neighborhood of signal discontinuities.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study a framework on building and continuing consumer trust in mobile travel and tourism content (M-TTC). Trust development life cycle in e-commerce is a trust-oriented building flow of online consumer. Travel information and content in mobile commerce is a initiative and immature step in the ubiquitous era. Travel and tourism industry is information intensive and network business between the bricks and clicks, the public and private, and the virtual and physical. A framework of travel and tourism content in m-commerce based on Siau and Shen (2003) and in perspective of information cities by Ferguson, et al. (2004) proposes conceptual components to build information and content for continuous consumer trust. The main results of the paper by focus group research methodology focus on building a conceptual m-trust model of mobile content in travel and tourism industry. Additionally, it shows what the important factor is and how the trustworthy improves continuously to the public, mobile vendors, and technological aspects.

  • This paper provides an overview of the E-learning service education on the last decade, In the early 2000's the emphasis of educational technology was on interactive multimedia- stand alone packages on computer hard disks or portable memory, which integrated a range of media forms in the lately. Customers handle finding the best sources of content. The system then uses social signals such as those coming from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, delicious as well as clicks and views. The SNS and network infrastructure is sufficiently mature that the focus should shift to how to use the technology most appropriately to facilitate learning. As we study environmental conditions of the traditional internet and the mobile internet users in some ways. In this paper, analyze the nature of learning, role of educational and suggest alternative policy, innovation of e-learning service and effective e-learning environment in developing technology.

  • This paper presents a web-based virtual classroom which can be creating efficiencies in the learning process of PHP language. The proposed flash animations which explain the important principles of several topics for PHP language are designed for the learners to easily understand by executing them through simple mouse clicks. The proposed flash animations enables the learners to achieve efficient and interesting self-learning since the learning process is designed to enhance the multimedia capabilities on the basis of various educational technologies. Also, internet-based on-line voice presentation and its related texts together with moving images are synchronized for efficient, language learning process. Through the proposed virtual classroom, the learners will be capable of learning the concepts related to PHP language and its coding. The results of this paper are to allow the implementation of an efficient virtual classroom, and are also expected to make a contributions to the activation of internet-based educational systems.

  • Nowadays there are lots of researches on robot systems working on danger environments and control led remotely. In this paper, we describe a virtual robot interface system based on Internet In the system, a client can order scanning for range finding, then server detects a 3D profile data from the objects by using robot controlling and a range finder automatically. If one clicks the original position of object and destination on virtual space, the robot moves the object to the new position in real space. The proposed interface system supports advanced virtual 3D interface and makes it possible one to manage the objects remotely more conveniently.

  • A powerful interaction mechanism is one of the key elements for the success of smart TVs, which demand far more complex interactions than traditional TVs. This paper proposes a novel interface based on the famous touch interaction model but utilizes long-range bare hand tracking to emulate touch actions. To satisfy the essential requirements of high accuracy and immediate response, the proposed hand tracking algorithm adopts a fast color-based tracker but with modifications to avoid the problems inherent to those algorithms. By using online modeling and motion information, the sensitivity to the environment can be greatly decreased. Furthermore, several ideas to solve the problems often encountered by users interacting with smart TVs are proposed, resulting in a very robust hand tracking algorithm that works superbly, even for users with sleeveless clothing. In addition, the proposed algorithm runs at a very high speed of 82.73 Hz. The proposed interface is confirmed to comfortably support most touch operations, such as clicks, swipes, and drags, at a distance of three meters, which makes the proposed interface a good candidate for interaction with smart TVs.

  • This study aims to investigate characteristics of most clicked documents of Naver's universal search service. In particular, this study analyzed characteristics of most clicked documents such as click ratio, collection distribution, and yearly distribution. Also, clicked documents were evaluated in terms of relevance, credibility, and currency. In conducting this study, query logs and click logs of unified search service were analyzed. The results of this study show that most clicks occurred in blog collection and average click concentration rate reached almost 50%. Also, the relevance and currency of most clicked documents were quite high, but credibility of these documents were on average level. The results of this study can be implemented to the portal's effective development of searching algorithm and interface.

  • A comparative study was made of the valvular sounds produced by normal prosthetic valves with thrombosed prosthetic valves. Comparisons of the closing sound were made for the power frequency spectra associated with individual valves. We used periodogram approach to obtain the spectral characteristics of the valve. Spectral analysis system was tested in mock circulatory system by comparing normal valves with those produced by the same valves but having simulated thrombosis at the hinge of the valve. The heart sounds was recorded from two patients having normal mechanical valve and thrombosed mechanical valve. The estimated spectrum of the thrombosed mechanical valve displayed lower apparent peak frequency than that of the normal valve. The results showed that frequency spectra gave information pertinent to the valve malfunction. Sound spectral analysis is simple and alternative diagnostic tool for early detection of prosthetic valve mal function.
