The amount of water resources that can be used tend to be decreased gradually. In contrast, the rapidly increasing water consumption is a problem that need to be addressed. Renovation and equipment replacement to improve energy efficiency and to reduce expenditure for building usage is required. But the excessive initial investment cost and the prolonged of pay back period may be uneconomical choice. Water usage for cleaning the toilet bowl accounts for 27%of the total water usage. Water-saving valve that can select the amount of water for cleaning toilet bowl can be reduced expenditure. After installing water-saving valve, analysed the economic effects. Water-saving valves compared with flush valves, and researched the amount of water usage. Then analyzed for the economic effects. Water-saving valve was used 5.6 ${\ell}$/time for cleaning toilet bowl. In contrast, flush valve was consumed 8.4 ${\ell}$/time. Water-saving valve's water-saving rate was 33.3%. The initial payback period for Water-saving valve was 459.5 days. By a small investment in water saving valve, the economic benefits can be obtained.
In the midst of increasing importance of modern cultural assets, especially, most modern bronze objects are exposed to outdoor environment, and as the objects are corroded steadily due to environmental factors the objects lost their original colors on the surface. We performed artificial patinas on the bronze sample per each color of red, black and green and checked cuprite and tenorite which are detected from actual bronze corrosion by analyzing the components. In addition, we applied the existing corrosion removal methods of grinder and sand blaster on a similar sample of bronze mirror per injection pressure and performed comparative analysis on the result with Nd:YAG laser. As a result of Nd:YAG laser cleaning artificial patina from bronze samples, all of the patinas were removed by laser wavelength 1064 nm better than 532 nm. Upon applying to a similar sample of bronze mirror, the artificial patina could be selectively removed from substrates without surface damage when Nd:YAG laser was conducted other than the existing removal method, and so it showed the possibility of application.

This paper discusses the effectiveness of onboard measurements and data extracted from weather information for speed-power analysis. Furthermore, validation results of hull and propeller cleaning and painting during dry-docking are discussed. Wind and wave information can be obtained from onboard measurements or weather information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The weather information of a specified position and time is extracted from NOAA weather data and compared with onboard measurements. In addition, to validate the effects of hull cleaning and painting during dry-docking, speed-power analysis results of before and after dry-docking are compared. The results show that both onboard measurements and weather information show acceptable reliability when added resistance and speed-power analysis results are compared with each other. Moreover, the ship performance analysis (SPA) software clearly shows the effects of hull cleaning and painting, and it can provide reliable analysis results with either onboard measurements or weather information. In conclusion, it is confirmed that the analysis method and SPA software used in this study are effective in analyzing the ship's speed-power performance.
For the purpose of this Study, the situation of Korean costume properties in the collection of overseas museums was investigated through correspondence, interviews with their curators and persons in charge and survey. As results were made about the situation of museum science (conservation) and practical utilization of costume properties. So, the study result were drawn as follows : Krean costume properties unexplaind of 'Korean cultural Properties' could be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York(135 pieces), the Brooklyn Museum of New York(20 pieces), the Newark Museum of New Jersey(15 pieces), and the Victoria Albert Museum of London(100 pieces). Korean costume properties in the collection of over-seas museums mostly fall under the rang of period between the 19th century and the early 20th century and are classified into everyday clothing, wedding costume and armors for the most part. In 1900s, museum in several countries began to collected Korean cultural properties through foreign missionaries or diplomats as well as merchants or travellers in who bought Korean objects. Recently, scholars, traditional Korean costume designerss and diplomatic and consular offices in overseas have donated our Korean costume to many foreign museums. Korean costume properties were largely on display in the dependent display of folklore museums or in a part of exhibition gallery for Asian culture and there were the separate exhibition rooms in museums in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Japan and the United States America. But the size and level of display room for Korean cultural properties is one third as large as that for chinese or Japanese cultual properties. It was found in this study that the traditional Korean costume in the collection of overseas museums was largely recorded only as general items rather than given their proper names. The typical example of misnaming included bridal's Kimono for Wonsam(원삼) in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yeonroksaek-bumunsajeokori for Dangeui(당의) and Jissan-gryongwonmunsadurumagi for Kongdali(동달이) in the Okura collection of the Tokyo National Museum, and so on. And the Victoria Albert Museum modified the way of wearing Daenim(대님) and the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka seemed to misplace the ornament of Keanggi(댕기) on Mubok(무복) and Josunjuk(조선족: Chinese-Korean) Museum also misplace hansam(한삼). On the one hand, the Newark museum of New Jersey mixed Chinese armor with the Korean one and the Photohraph of King Kojong(고종) with Chinese one. It is corrected to publish and disseminate the book concering Korean costume in order to inform foreign museums of thed proper names and wearing method of our traditional costumed. The repair of costume before cleaning in the process of conservation treatment can prevent damage likely to occur as the properties of fiber itself are weakened in liquid. It is recommended that western 8-figure stitch and tacking stitch is added to Korean traditional stitching method. Museums in the U.S.A and the U.K are concerned about the aftermath of cleaning it-self, specially conservation treatment may exert on remains and predominantly use the vacuuming method to remove dust or bits of straw before the exhibition beings. But in case of Korea, the dry cleaning and wet cleaning method are used according to the nature and state of a sample costume. This comprehensive cleaning method is gradually developing scientifically but it is expected that those concerned will make a chemical analysis of the solvent to be used and also the more precise test of costume properties will be conducted before cleaning them. A partial study was made here because the scope of study was too broad and vast. It is expected that more studies will be conducted concerning our costume culture under the long-term plan and active support at the government level.
The Log-structured File System (LFS) collects all modified data into a memory buffer and writes them sequentially to a segment on disk. Therefore, it has the potential to utilize the maximum bandwidth of storage devices where sequential writes are much faster than random writes. However, as disk space is finite, LFS has to conduct cleaning to produce free segments. This cleaning operation is the main reason LFS performance deteriorates when file system utilization is high. To overcome painful cleaning and reduced performance of LFS, we propose the segment space recycling (SSR) scheme that directly writes modified data to invalid areas of the segments and describe the classification method of data and segment to consider locality of reference for optimizing SSR scheme. We implement U-LFS, which employs our segment space recycling scheme in LFS, and experimental results show that SSR scheme increases performance of WOLF by up to 1.9 times in HDD and 1.6 times in SSD when file system utilization is high.

The demand for Ru has been increasing in the electronic, chemical and semiconductor industry. Chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) is one of the fabrication processes for electrode formation and barrier layer removal. The abrasive particles can be easily contaminated on the top surface during the CMP process. This can induce adverse effects on subsequent patterning and film deposition processes. In this study, a post Ru CMP cleaning solution was formulated by using sodium periodate as an etchant and citric acid to modify the zeta potential of alumina particles and Ru surfaces. Ru film (150 nm thickness) was deposited on tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) films by the atomic layer deposition method. Ru wafers were cut into $2.0{\times}2.0$ cm pieces for the surface analysis and used for estimating PRE. A laser zeta potential analyzer (LEZA-600, Otsuka Electronics Co., Japan) was used to obtain the zeta potentials of alumina particles and the Ru surface. A contact angle analyzer (Phoenix 300, SEO, Korea) was used to measure the contact angle of the Ru surface. The adhesion force between an alumina particle and Ru wafer surface was measured by an atomic force microscope (AFM, XE-100, Park Systems, Korea). In a solution with citric acid, the zeta potential of the alumina surface was changed to a negative value due to the adsorption of negative citrate ions. However, the hydrous Ru oxide, which has positive surface charge, could be formed on Ru surface in citric acid solution at pH 6 and 8. At pH 6 and 8, relatively low particle removal efficiency was observed in citric acid solution due to the attractive force between the Ru surface and particles. At pH 10, the lowest adhesion force and highest cleaning efficiency were measured due to the repulsive force between the contaminated alumina particle and the Ru surface. The highest PRE was achieved in citric acid solution with NaIO4 below 0.01 M at pH 10.
Joint strength between a solder ball and a pad on a substrate is one of the major factors which have effects on electronic device reliability. The effort to improve solder joint strength via surface cleaning, heat treatment and solder composition change have been in progress. This paper will discuss the method of solder ball joint strength improvement using LF hydrogen radical cleaning treatment and focus on the effects of surface treatment condition on the solder ball shear strength and interfacial reactions. In the joint without radical cleaning, voids were observed at the interface. However, the specimens cleaned by hydrogen-radical didn't have voids at the interface regardless of cleaning time. The shear strength between the solder ball and the pad was increased over 120%(about 800gf) when compared to that without the radical treatment (680gf) under the same reflow condition. Especially, at the specimen treated for 5minutes, ball shear strength was considerably increased over 150%(1150gf). Through the observation of fracture surface and cross-section microstructure, the increase of joint strength resulted from the change of fracture mode, that is, from the solder ball fracture to IMC/Ni(P) interfacial fracture. The other cases like radical treated specimen for 1, 3, 7, 9min. showed IMC/solder interfacial fracture rather than fracture in the solder ball.
Recently nanoscience and nanotechnology have been studied intensively, and many plants, insects, and animals in nature have been found to have nanostructures in their bodies. Among them, lotus leaves have a unique nanostructure and microstructure in combination and show superhydrophobicity and a self-cleaning function to wipe and clean impurities on their surfaces. Coating films with combined nanostructures and microstructures resembling those of lotus leaves may also have superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning functions; as a result, they could be used in various applications, such as in outfits, tents, building walls, or exterior surfaces of transportation vehicles like cars, ships, or airplanes. In this study, coating films were prepared by dip coating method using polypropylene polymers dissolved in a mixture of solvent, xylene and non-solvent, methylethylketon, and ethanol. Additionally, attempts were made to prepare nanostructures on top of microstructures by coating with the same coating solution with an addition of carbon nanotubes, or by applying a carbon nanotube over-coat on polymer coating films. Coating films prepared without carbon nanotubes were found to have superhydrophobicity, with a water contact angle of $152^{\circ}$ and sliding angle less than $2^{\circ}$. Coating films prepared with carbon nanotubes were also found to have a similar degree of superhydrophobicity, with a water contact angle of 150 degrees and a sliding angle of 3 degrees.

The study of photocatalysis of nano titanium dioxideon the cotton fabrics have been investigatedthrough self-cleaning properties. The mini-emulsion technique was employed to prepare the encapsulation of titanium dioxide nano particles in polystyrene beads prior used. The mini-emulsion was coated on the cotton fabrics using Pad-dry method. The loading amount of TiO2particles into the mini-emulsion were various from 1%wt to 40%wt. The particles sizes of the TiO2-encapsulated polystyrene mini-emulsion were investigated by dynamic light scattering. It was noticed that the particle size of the mini-emulsion was in the range of 100- 200 nm. The morphology of treated cotton fabrics were investigated using scanning electron microscopy. The crystal structure of TiO2-encapsulated PS mini emulsion which coated on cotton fabrics were examined by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy. In order to investigate the photocatalytic activities of TiO2 through the selfcleaning characteristics of the cotton fabrics, colorant stains were created on the samples. Coffee stains were used as colorant organic stains. The result shown that the coffee stained on the cotton fabrics significantly showed the improving of the self-cleaning properties under UV radiation.

We have been measuring $CH_4$ flux in a rice paddy in Gimje using the eddy covariance method since July 2011. In order to measure the fast fluctuations of $CH_4$ concentration, an innovative LI-7700 open-path laser spectrometer is used. This high-precision, low power, light weight, low maintenance sensor enables us to operate it on a continuous and long-term basis. One particular feature, among other things, is the self-cleaning lower mirror which decreases maintenance requirements while ensuring more robust, continuous, high-quality dataset. Its cleaning is initiated at user-specified time intervals or a signal strength threshold, and its status is recorded as a diagnostic index. We have noticed that the operation of LI-7700 at Gimje site is quite challenging particularly due to its frequent mirror cleaning requirement and the associated sensitivity of the instrument. In this presentation, we present some field observation data regarding the mirror cleaning and their analysis, thereby suggesting the pertinent operation options for high-quality, maximum data retrieval in the field.
