This study was carried out to utilize non-toxic solvents instead of harmful solvents for the TLC(Thin Layer Chromatography) identification test of herbal medicines. It is recommended not to use harmful solvent such as chloroform at a viewpoint of clean analysis. In this study, we revised the identification test of 10 items in the Korea Pharmacopoeia(KP) and the Korean Herbal Pharmacopoeia(KHP) such as Cornus officinalis S. containing the harmful solvents on the developing solvent and established identification test that is utilized non-toxic solvents by HPTLC(High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography).
Clean Natural is a new disinfectant of which main components are propolis and wood vinegar from Quercus mongolica. The mutagenicity of Clean Natural was studied by a micronucleus test in male ICR mice. The maximally tolerated dose (MTI) of Clean Natural was determined to >2.0 g/kg body weight. Therefore, the doses adopted for the micronucleus test was 2.0 g/kg as a high dose, 1.0 g/kg as a medium and 0.5 g/kg as a low of dose, respectively. Each of group was consisted of three doses of Clean Natural, positive control 2 mg/kg of mitomycin C and negative control 20 ml/kg of saline. A slide preparation was made at 24 hours following administration. No significant induction of micronuclei was observed in any of the three doses of Clean Natural orally administered. No cytotoxicity such as inhibition of hemopoiesis was observed in any group of test agent as the rate of polychromatic erythrocytes to total erythrocytes was over 40%. These results indicate that Clean Natural is not capable of inducing micronuclei in vivo mouse cells and thus has no genotoxicity in micronucleus test.
This paper describes a real-time scheduling system re-construction project for automated manufacturing at a 300mm wafer fab of Korean semiconductor manufacturing company. During executing this project, for each main operation such as clean, diffusion, deposition, photolithography, and metallization, each adopted scheduling algorithm was developed, and then those were implemented in a real-time scheduling system. In this paper, we focus on the scheduling algorithms and real-time scheduling system for clean and diffusion operations, that is, a serial-process block with the constraint of limited queue time and batch processors. After this project was completed, the automated manufacturing utilizations of clean and diffusion operations became around 91% and 83% respectively, which were about 50% and 10% at the beginning of this project. The automated manufacturing system reduces direct operating costs, increased throughput on the equipments, and suggests continuous and uninterrupted processings.
BACKGROUND: Garlic (Allium sativum) extract has been allowed as commercial biopesticide material for pesticidal activity in the Environmentally-friendly Agriculture Promotion Act. Nine commercial biopesticides containing A. sativum extract have been marketed in Korea. However, the analytical method of the active substances in these materials has not been studied. METHODS AND RESULTS: Cartridge clean-up method for the determination of dimethyl disulfide(DMDS), diallyl disulfide(DADS), and diallyl trisulfide(DATS) in biopesticides containing A. sativum extract was developed and validated by gas chromatography(GC). The clean-up method was optimized using hydrophilic lipophilic balance (HLB) solid phase extraction(SPE) cartridges for the bioactive sulfides in biopesticides containing A. sativum extract, and the eluate was analyzed to quantify the DMDS, DADS, and DATS using the GC. The developed method was validated, and the LOQ and recovery rates of DMDS, DADS, and DATS were 0.226, 0.063, and $0.051mg\;L^{-1}$ and 80.6, 84.8, and 73.1%, respectively. From the nine commercial biopesticide samples, contents of DMDS, DADS, and DATS were analyzed using the developed method and results showed $2.3mg\;L^{-1}$, respectively. CONCLUSION: The developed method could be used in determining the quality of biopesticides for the manufacture of commercial biopesticides containing A. sativum extract.
BACKGROUND: In an environment-friendly agriculture, plant extracts have been perceived as alternatives of synthetic pesticides. The Environment-friendly Agriculture Promotion Act of Korea has approved cinnamon extract as a matter for the production of commercial biopesticides. Thirteen commercial biopesticides containing cinnamon extract have been marketed locally. However, the analytical method for the quality control of these biopesticides containing cinnamon extract has not been studied. METHODS AND RESULTS: Cartridge clean-up method for the determination of cinnamaldehyde, cinnamylalcohol and salicylaldehyde in biopesticides containing cinnamon extract was developed and validated by gas chromatography (GC). The clean-up method was optimized with HLB SPE cartridges for the bioactive substance in biopesticides containing cinnamon extract, and the eluate was analyzed by GC. The developed method was validated, and the LOQ and recovery rates of cinnamaldehyde, cinnamylalcohol and salicylaldehyde were 0.139, 0.067 and $0.062mgL^{-1}$ and 84.2, 86.5 and 82.1%, respectively. The contents of cinnamaldehyde, cinnamylalcohol and salicylaldehyde were analyzed using the developed method in the 13 commercial biopesticides. Results showed 0.06-17.37%,
The amount of halogen clean fire extinguishing agents has been increased by the excellent features of extinguishing, adaptability and no residue. On the other hand in situations without a hazard assessment and safety standard of agents, chemical accidents by the agents occurs frequently. This study was performed to propose the halogen clean agents' regulatory exposure limit and safety standard including the quantitative ventilation system with gas leak monitoring, hazard recognition and optimal personal protection selection through a literature review and experimental research.
Disinfectants/sanitizers, showing the bactericidal activity of $5log_{10}$ reduction against E. coli ATCC 10536 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 used far assessing disinfectants/sanitizers efficacies, were examined whether showing similar efficacies against Salmonella spp. and Listeria monocytogenes, the major food poisoning bacteria, isolated from foods in current Korean market. The bactericidal efficacies on sodium hypochlorite and benzalkonium chloride were assessed by quantitative suspension tests in both 'clean' and 'dirty' conditions, respectively. Test organisms were consisted of E. coli ATCC 10536, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Salmonella typhimurium ATCC 13311, Salmonella Enteritidis ATCC 13076, Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 19111, 10 kinds of Salmonella spp. from foods, and 11 kinds of Listeria monocytogenes from foods. More than $5log_{10}$ reduction in viable count for all strains was only achieved with benzalkonium chloride at the tolerance exemption concentration under dirty conditions. However, all strains were achieved more than $5log_{10}$ reduction under clean conditions.
BACKGROUND: Three commercial biopesticides containing derris extract, which is permitted as a commercial biopesticide substances by the Environmentally-friendly Agriculture Promotion Act, have been marketed in Korea. But, the quantitative analytical method of active substances for crop protection in biopesticides containing derris extract has not known. METHODS AND RESULTS: Solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridge clean-up method for the quantitative analysis of rotenone and deguelin in biopesticides containing derris extract was developed and validated by ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC). The clean-up method was established using hydrophilic lipophilic balance (HLB) SPE cartridges for the bioactive substances in biopesticides containing derris extract, and the eluate was analyzed to quantify the rotenone and deguelin by the UPLC. LOQ and recovery rates of rotenone and deguelin were 0.085 and 0.044 mg/L, 95.7 and 93.3%, respectively. The content of rotenone and deguelin in three biopesticides containing derris extract were analyzed by the developed method, the results showed 0.001-0.236 and

One of most important work is to build the Fisheries Information Systems(FIS), FIS should give to increase the efficiency of fisheries policies, to share the fisheries informations, and to increase the competitive power of international fisheries environment. On the conclusion, this paper has four expect effects to build the FIS. First, fisheries information will be supplied the clean fisheries policies based on FIS. Second, The Data Warehouse of FIS will be contributed to improve the criterion and statistics of fisheries data. Third, Fisheries Administration will increase the service between fisheries institutes using the FIS. Finally, fisheries administration will use the fisheries data efficiently as integrating the fisheries data into information systems.
Purpose: This study is to analyze the image classification using Convolution Neural Network and Transfer Learning for Jeju Island and to suggest related implications. As the biggest tourist destination in Korea, Jeju Island encounters environmental issues frequently caused by marine debris along the seaside. The ever-increasing volume of plastic waste requires multidirectional management and protection. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, the deep learning CNN algorithm was used to train a number of images from Jeju clean and polluted beaches. In the process of validating and testing pre-processed images, we attempted to explore their applicability to coastal tourism applications through probabilities of classifying images and predicting clean shores. Results: We transformed and augmented 194 small image dataset into 3,880 image data. The results of the pre-trained test set were 85%, 70% and 86%, and then its accuracy has increased through the process. We finally obtained a rapid convergence of 97.73% and 100% (20/20) in the actual training and validation sets. Conclusions: The tested algorithms are expected to implement in applications for tourism service distribution aimed at reducing coastal waste or in CCTVs as a detector or indicator for residents and tourists to protect clean beaches on Jeju Island.
