Machine Learning Algorithm Accuracy for Code-Switching Analytics in Detecting Mood

  • Nowadays, as we can notice on social media, most users choose to use more than one language in their online postings. Thus, social media analytics needs reviewing as code-switching analytics instead of traditional analytics. This paper aims to present evidence comparable to the accuracy of code-switching analytics techniques in analysing the mood state of social media users. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) to study the social media analytics that examined the effectiveness of code-switching analytics techniques. One primary question and three sub-questions have been raised for this purpose. The study investigates the computational models used to detect and measures emotional well-being. The study primarily focuses on online postings text, including the extended text analysis, analysing and predicting using past experiences, and classifying the mood upon analysis. We used thirty-two (32) papers for our evidence synthesis and identified four main task classifications that can be used potentially in code-switching analytics. The tasks include determining analytics algorithms, classification techniques, mood classes, and analytics flow. Results showed that CNN-BiLSTM was the machine learning algorithm that affected code-switching analytics accuracy the most with 83.21%. In addition, the analytics accuracy when using the code-mixing emotion corpus could enhance by about 20% compared to when performing with one language. Our meta-analyses showed that code-mixing emotion corpus was effective in improving the mood analytics accuracy level. This SLR result has pointed to two apparent gaps in the research field: i) lack of studies that focus on Malay-English code-mixing analytics and ii) lack of studies investigating various mood classes via the code-mixing approach.

신입생 대상 온라인 비교과 프로그램 효과 분석: K 대학 사례 (The Effect of Online Extracurricular Program for University Freshmen: Focusing on the Case of K University)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the online extracurricular program operated by the university. The program contents applied in the study included learning strategies such as time management, goal setting, note taking, and memorization methods. The program used in the study was operated in an online environment, and the content was developed between 27 and 29 minutes. The developed contents can be taken using the learning management system. The variables selected to analyze the effects of this program were learning strategies and learning flow, and satisfaction was also included to examine the responses of program participants. The results of the study are as follows. First, learning strategies and learning flow showed statistically significant differences. This result is because the content was composed of meaningful sub-topics by selecting the elements necessary for learning activities. Second, as a result of program satisfaction analysis, it was confirmed that the average for all questions was high. Among them, the average of the item that the theme and contents of the program were useful was the highest. Third, open responses were analyzed by classifying them into cognitive and affective domains. In the cognitive domain, meanings such as knowledge, understanding, and application were presented as keywords, and in the affective domain, a number of keywords for motivation and attitude change were presented. This study is significant in that it provided practical programs necessary for university freshmen and analyzed their effects.

How do Elementary Students Classify the Branches of Science?

  • Science curriculums for elementary schools were, traditionally, developed to be balanced in content and contain equal proportions of the four branches of science: physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. To develop a successful science curriculum, we asked some questions about how elementary students recognize these branches and about what they think of the domains of science in the science curriculum. Our study was designed to investigate how elementary students classify the domains of science in the curriculum. Previous research (Lee et al., 2001) seemed not to be successful, because verbal expressions in that research might be inappropriate for elementary students who were unaccustomed to the technical language of science. For this reason, instead of using only words, we developed image card instruments, made of picture duplicates of the introductory covers of each unit in the 3$^{rd}$, 4$^{th}$, and 5$^{th}$ grades' science textbooks. We asked students to classify these cards into their own categories and record the reasons for classifying them. The ratio and distribution of the units was then analyzed to identify their view of the science domains. 30% of the 4$^{th}$ grade students created the following categories: 'nature,' 'observation,' 'seasons,' 'living things,' 'sounds,' 'separating,' and 'the things necessary for everyday life'. In the case of the 5$^{th}$ grade, over 30% created the categories of 'living things,' 'weight,' and 'water.' Over 30% of the 6$^{th}$ grade created the categories of 'nature,' 'light,' 'water,' 'living things,' 'solution,' 'fire,' 'properties of an object,' and 'experiment.' Upon scrutinizing the above results, we discovered that the science domains selected by students into three types of domains: academic contents and concepts; activities related to a science class; and lessons and experiences in students ' lives. The last category was a new, complex kind of domain. We concluded that students did not utilize the four branches of science when constructing their own domains of science. Instead, they created many alternative domains, which reflected students' thoughts of and their experiences. The educational needs of elementary students suggest that when organizing science curriculum as 25 % allocation of the four science branches, newly-created domains should be considered.

팔체질 진단을 위한 단계별 설문지 개발 연구 (A Study on Stage Classification of Eight Constitution Questionnaire)

  • Objectives : Pulse diagnosis by Expert is the only way to classify 8 Constitutions so the study to supplement classifying method by the questionnaire has developed and modified and ECM-32 System has designed in 2010. But analyzing with Decision tree had many nodes and 32 important questions omitted while processing the data. So this study was to classify the 8 constitution patients into 2 groups first and analyze its characters in consecutive order. Methods : The participants of this study were 1027 patients who classified into one of the 8 constitutions according to pulse diagnosis and answered 251 questionnaires in 2010. They were divided into sympathetic nerve acceleration constitution and parasympathetic nerve acceleration constitution and analyzed with decision tree. Results : The reponses of the questionnaire were analyzed with 4 methods of 5 scales interval method from 0 to 5, Na, Low(1,2), Medium(3), High(4,5), average value, Y/N dichotomy. Average Value had no significance. 1. From the 5 scale interval method 6 questionnaires with 7 nodes (F5e, B1d, F7f, F2a, F1b, C4L) were significant. The accuracy was 92.5%. 2. From L, M, H method 7 questionnaires with 7 nodes(F5e, B1d, F7f, F1a, B1c, C4L, P3d) were significant. The accuracy was 92.5%. 3. From Y/N dichotomy 9 questionnaires with 9 nodes( F5e, B1d, F7f, F1a, B1c, C4L, B1b, P1i, B2a) were significant. The accuracy was 93.18%. Conclusions : Based on this study, Yes or No dichotomy method was most significant and categorized among the 4 methods. Unlike previous studies which used interval scale method only, Y/N dichotomy method was more statistically significant with the questionnaire to supplement the method of pulse diagnosis. For further study by analyzing decision tree method in consecutive order, the patients can be divided into 8 Constitutions with higher significance with less questionnaires.

공학 윤리 교육: 현황과 쟁점, 그리고 전략 (Engineering Ethics Education: Issue and Strategy)

  • 과학기술의 발전이 가속화되고 사회에 미치는 파급력이 커짐에 따라 과학기술자의 사회적 책임 향상과 전문직 윤리에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 공학분야에서는 특히, EC2000의 도입과 공학교육인증기준이 체계화와 더불어 공학윤리교육의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 하지만 공학과 윤리의 결합은 단순히 원칙적 선언에 의해 확보될 수 없으며 교육 시스템안에서 어떻게 제도화될 수 있고 실행 가능한 지에 대한 체계적 접근이 필요하다. 이 연구는 공학윤리 교육 제도화의 전제 조건이 되는 인식의 전환과 공학의 일상적 경험에 근거한 윤리 교육이 필수적임을 주장하고 있다. 1980년대까지 확립된 공학윤리교육의 의의와 한계를 밝히면서 최근 발전하고 있는 공학윤리교육의 특성과 지향점을 살펴본다. 또한 현재 이루어지고 있는 공학윤리교육의 유형을 분석하여 각 유형별 쟁점과 특성을 분석한다. 이제 막 발전하기 시작한 우리나라의 공학윤리교육은 각 대학의 주어진 여건과 상황을 고려하여 독립형 혹은 전공결합형 공학윤리 교육을 적절히 조합하여 추진하는 것이 바람직하다. 무엇보다 공학과 공학 이외 분야의 해당 전문가들 사이의 협력 연구와 교육이 선행되어야 할 것이다.

도시주부의 지출행동유형연구 (Expenditure Behavior types of Urban Housewives)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the expenditure behaviors of housewives into some types and to identify the characteristics of the types focucing on diverse expenditure behaviors of urban households. In this study it is assumed that the expenditure behaviors are classified by there factors-(1)the orientation of money saving (2)the orientation of time saving and (3)the orientation of others. The present study suggests following three questions. (1). Can the expenditure behaviors of urban housewives be classified according to the orientation of money saving the orientation of others? (2) What distictions exist among the types? (3) Which variables are useful in classifying the expenditure behaviors? For empirical analysis the data of the study was collected from 650 housewives living in Seoul. The statistical methods adopted for data analysis are frequency percentage mean Pearson's correlation coefficient factor analysis cluster analysis one way ANOVA Duncun's multiple ran e test and discriminant analysis. As the major findings 4 types were extracted, According to the level of each dimensions the names for the each type were given as "the type of attaching importance to money saving" "the type of attaching importance to time and appearance" "the type of attaching importance to money saving and time" "the type of attaching importance to money saving and time" "the type of attaching importance to money saving and time" "the type of attaching importance to money saving and appearance" In "the type of attaching importance to money saving" the significant portion of housewives have high school degrees and compared with other types this type includes more husbands having sales and service job 55% of housewives of "The type of attaching importance to time and appearance" have graduate or higher degrees. The significant part of earned incomes range from 3 million won to 5 million won. The rate of housewives employed in the professional job is higher than other types. In "The type of attaching importance to money saving and time" the rate of the employment of housewives in this type is the highest among the types. In "The type of attaching importance to money saving and appearance" the significant portion of housewives have graduate degrees. In the jobs of he spouses the management job is major. The consciousness of belonging to the middle class is higher than other types. In this type the level of education is high but that of income is not. The result of the discriminant analysis says that the earned income and the consciousness of belonging to a calss are the most critical variables to classify the expenditure behaviors into 4 type The accuray of the classification of the discrimination equation composed of these variables is 47,5% The accuracy is improved by 10%.

물질의 성질 및 물질의 변화 영역에서 중학생들의 학업성취 특성 분석 : 2009 개정 교육과정 시기 국가수준 학업성취도 평가 결과를 중심으로 (Analysis on the Characteristics of Academic Achievement About 'properties of matter' and 'change of matter': Focusing on the Results of the National Assessment of Educational Achievement (NAEA) in the 2009 Revised Curriculum)

  • 화학은 물질의 성질, 변화, 구조에 대해 다루는 교과로, 관찰 가능한 성질과 변화를 미시적인 수준으로 설명하고, 이를 이론과 법칙 등으로 설명하는 체계를 갖는다. 국가수준 교육과정에서는 물질의 성질과 변화에 대해 초등학교부터 고등학교에 이르기까지 연속적으로 다루면서, 학생들이 물질에 대한 이해를 심화시킬 수 있도록 내용을 구성하고 있다. 즉, 물질의 성질과 변화에 대한 이해는 화학의 관점에서 우리 주변을 설명하기 위한 기반이 되며, 이 둘은 2015 개정 과학과 교육과정에서 화학 교과의 영역으로 분류된다. 본 연구에서는 국가수준 학업성취도 평가의 결과를 분석하여 중학생들의 물질의 성질과 물질의 변화 영역에 대한 이해를 확인하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적에서 본 연구에서는 2015년부터 2019년까지 출제된 물질의 성질에 대한 12개 문항, 물질의 변화에 대한 19개 문항을 분석하였다. 핵심 개념에 따라 문항들을 분류하여 분석한 결과에 따르면, 두 영역에 대한 이해는 보통학력과 기초학력에 해당하는 학생들에게서 큰 폭으로 변화하고 있었다. 입자의 관점을 사용하고 과학 개념과 모형을 연관시켜 현상을 설명하거나, 이 두 영역에서 다루는 탐구에 대해 이해하는 것이 성취수준에 따라 차이가 있었다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 물질의 성질과 물질의 변화 영역에 대해 교수학습 과정에서 개선이 필요한 사항들을 논의하였다.

도박중독 문제의 본질에 충실한 평가/진단 및 비율 산정 (Evaluation/Diagnosis and Related Rates Reflecting the Nature of Gambling Problems)

  • 본 연구는 도박중독문제를 어떻게 정의하고 접근해야 최선일 것인가에 대한 근본적인 질문에서 시작되었다. 이에 도박중독문제의 본질을 규정하고, 도박중독 발생과 유지에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인들을 포괄하여 도박문제를 이해하고자 하였다. 이러한 작업이 선행된 후에야 도박의 문제를 정확하게 진단, 분류, 평가하고 나아가 유병률이나 발병률의 균형잡힌 산정도 가능할 것이기 때문이다. 우선 도박중독 개념과 관련하여서는 전문가 간에 상이한 견해를 보이고 있으므로 도박 중독에 대한 광의의 정의와 협의의 정의 등으로 세분하는 것이 의사소통에 혼란을 방지할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. 또한 도박행동을 중독인가 아닌가, 병적인가 아닌가 등 이분법적으로 구분하기보다 연속선상에 존재하는 것으로서 바라보아야 할 것이다. 이와 함께 최근 등장하고 있는 도박행동에 대한 다원적 및 다층적 관점을 소개하였는데, 이러한 관점의 장점은 도박문제를 개인의 책임으로만 떠넘기는 것이 아니라 도박문제와 관련된 다양한 주체들이 책임을 나누고 문제해결을 위해 공동대처하도록 촉진한다는 점이다. 또한 현재 국내에서 사용되고 있는 도박중독 평가척도들의 제한점을 극복한 척도의 제작이 필요한 바, 새로운 척도 개발 시 필요한 유의사항을 밝혔다. 마지막으로 도박관련 정책 추진시 유병률과 발병률의 산정이 중요한 이슈로 부각되는바, 도박중독문제의 본질에 충실한 유병률과 발병률 추정을 위한 방안을 제시하였다.
